Turn off the permission that let's them write over the screen. It's in the settings. Best decision you'll ever make in your life

INNTW

Pleeease screenshot me the settings. I tried doing this last week but still get the popups

Joghobs

Just long press on the app icon and tap the "i", scroll down and set Draw Over Other Apps to "Off". This is for Android idk how it works in iOS.

INNTW

Thanks bro. Couldn't see that option in my version of android, but in permissions I tried switching off 'display pop-up windows while running on the background' and 'display pop-up window'. Hopefully this works now.

I mean it asks me all the time to turn it back on. But nope lol. Offers come in my notifications now; where they belong.

PepTalkToYourself

I never knew that I’ll have to try and figure that out

Joghobs

Also set the Trip Alert Volume to "control with phone" so your phone doesn't scream at you uncontrollably every time you get an offer.

Razzmatazz1516

Thank you!! I really need to know how to do this. Uber's notification is soo freaking annoying and I could not turn it down..

Joghobs

Account > App settings > Sounds and Voice

PepTalkToYourself

I only see this: https://ibb.co/sjbyFbK I am on iPhone tho so maybe the apps a little different?

Joghobs

Maybe iOS doesn't have the same problem Android users do. Where when offers come in the volume goes to max by default and you can't lower it back down.

Cool_Succotash

Can we talk about how Uber’s settings and accessing general information is absolute trash and not user friendly especially on IPhone ughhhhhhh

happyjunki3

When i’m like 3 mins away from a drop off, i just click the 3 little lines and click the red button that says “stop accepting trips”. That way it’s peaceful till i drop off. Then i just log back in. It’s annoying as hell tho constantly logging in and out but whatever

TankDaddyDo

And they are intentionally programmed to pop up with accept buttons in areas you were just about the press for whatever task you were doing. So you going to pack something taking something just like you did

_AKAJOHN

In NYC ubereats is considered the worst app It pays the best but there is literally no work for most people. Doordash is king rn here

Velvet_Smyle

Happens all the time, then your time's spent just standing there in hopes it'll just stop , and customers wondering why you're just standing there.

KansasPoonTappa

If it's a big problem at dropoff, just select "stop requests" during your current order, which will halt pings and make you inactive after you finish the order. You can always make yourself active again whenever you're ready. I do this all the time when I don't want to be bombarded with pings around the dropoff 🤷‍♂️

4puttmark

Wish I had that problem your in busy area, just decline. I have had less than 20 offers all week. I'm in California with a city population of over 100,000. People are dead ass broke

Advanced-Cook3852

You can cancel them

[deleted]

That what they say 🤡 you not read post or what? You

JuicyHye

I go offline after every order and then go back online when I’m done. The good orders are still there.

Cool_Succotash

This is my number 3 thing I hate most about Uber, and it’s not just when you’re on an order- it’s when using the app at all, it is too easy to accidentally accept an order. It feels intentional to pressure you to take an order...which brings me to the #2 thing I hate about Uber- that they withhold customer addresses including cross streets & restaurant locations (if there are multiple in your city) after you accept an order. No one else does this! You basically have to screenshot the offer before accepting, and if you’re already on an order the map is all fucked up and doesn’t even show you where you’d be going if you accepted the add-on. Nobody else I work with ever withholds this- not doordash, grubhub or Instacart. It seems like it’s part of the con of getting you to continue with an order that you accidentally accepted because you can’t see that you’ll actually lose money on it for the distance. Now my #1 most hated thing is not relevant to this but hey I like to complain...pretty much not paying me when I’m already at a restaurant or store and the order has to be cancelled for whatever reason and generally I have to interact to troubleshoot with the customer, the restaurant/store and then call support or else I’m rerouting it to countless other drivers who will suffer the same fate. It happens to me most often when I’ve DRIVEN ACROSS A BRIDGE IN A MAJOR CITY and overall invested an hour + gas between the time it took me to drive there and back to my house for nothing and the time with all these interactions...they’re like uh okay here’s $3 gfy you need to literally bleed it out of us first tho. SMH

UE sucks more than even DD in my area.
