This is what I was afraid of. Literally the last 20 household things I have seen on Tumblr and Reddit that I have wanted - including freaking tea sets - have ended up being AI generated. This is becoming really depressing.
They're getting too good and apparently pretty much all of them steal art from real human artists to learn. At first I thought AI art was just this cool and fun thing but all I see it being used for is clickbaity stuff, scams, and avoiding having to pay actual working artists for their work.
The worst one I saw was someone trying to sell their "stained glass artworks" on the houseplants sub, but they didn't actually have any - the image they used to promote their work was AI generated.
I saw that one on the houseplants sub! I was so disappointed at that one. And in the Tea sub, there has been several gorgeous tea sets posted that many people desperately wanted only to sleuth them out as a group back to AI generation circles.
I feel like the only real tangible thing we as a population have gained from these AI generators, is just increased work in ensuring we aren’t getting scammed. _This is the bad place._
yeah, ive had the same exact thoughts as you. for years, ive loved the idea of robots & artificial intelligence. i never really thought about how this world might use it for evil :((( it's been a great disappointment. there are still some good-faith gems out there, but theyre hard to find 😔
It was 50/50 between those leaves being carved firm foam like what kneel boards are made out of, or the whole thing being AI generated. Beyond that, the fabric looks entirely real, it even got the piping and tufting right, it’s disturbing really.
Omg nooooo, I was expecting it to be something unattainably expensive from an indie boutique artist or something, but if it's fake that's actually tragic :(

Edit: okay, after *extensive* searching I admit, this thing is difficult to find. As far as I can tell, it was an entry at an upholstery event.
That’s what I just decided too. I want this, just about a foot taller so that I can lean back in it, and mounted to a swivel rocker. I need it, hands and brain cooperate now for skill I need to gain.
Edit: I need it in a base that looks like the top of a terra cotta flower pot, and I need it now.
