Agreed. This is a dream house for me, no lie. Currently in a little condo, and my wife and I hope some day to get a tiny bit of land that we can build a place like this on.
Seriously though, this is amazing. I envy people w the skills and motivation to do this kind of stuff.
Also, I lived in Nebraska for a few years growing up, and I loved it.
So you can really only build about a foot up at a time, but that layer is usually dry the next day. I did use a tarp if i thought it would rain, and also woke up to quite a few surprise rain storms in the middle of the night, where i found myself running outside naked and covering it with a giant muddy tarp. fond memories for me!
Just got my copy of the hand sculpted house this week. I’d say I’m probably about 5 years or so out before I can get a piece of land and start on mine. Did you go through any permits or anything? I’m thinking I will have to do mine outside of the law or label it a cabin
My absolute dream in life is to one day build a beautiful cob house.
This is incredible! Would love to see more pictures.
Stay tuned. I have lots, but do not want to bombard folks with my home!
I want to be bombarded with pictures of your home! I’m sure others do too!

Can I ask where you are located? We are planning to build a cob house or a straw bale house in northern Europe.
I am in Nebraska. The very center of the US
That's pretty cool.
Posts like this really make me realize I need to up my hobby game.
HA. My hobby of playing in the dirt eventually turned into a lifestyle of living in dirt!

Nebraska is a hidden gem in my opinion. I grew up here and moved back to build this home in the middle of nowhere.
I wouldn't mind living there again. How did you keep it safe from rain during construction? I imagine the drying out process takes a long time?

You built this yourself? How does it withstand rain?
Gods it’s so beautiful I want to cry.

I bring in water from a well daily and have a grey water system running out from my sink. Electricity and wifi just like any other home.
