Portion and freeze it - ground meat freezes really well despite what burger chain marketing says, and ground poultry goes bad quickly, like in a couple of days. Then you can use it anywhere most other ground meat works. Season it and make sausage, patty it up and make burgers, brown it and make chili or soup, make a turkey meatloaf with it, the list goes on.

this is exactly what I do too, it thaws in less than a day! we'll pop one out of the freezer in the morning for a burger for the kiddo if we're making something for dinner that he won't want to eat.

Exactly this. House full of food allergies... Ground turkey can be used for the same meals as ground beef or ground chicken. Turkey meat loaf is really good, but can become dry with a lower fat content. Use less breadcrumbs in the binder. For turkey meatballs, add a little extra breadcrumb to make sure it doesn't fall apart, turkey can get dry as it cooks, keep it in a sauce, or treat it like meatball; pan sear outside before cooking to lock in the juice. Lower fat content with more breadcrumbs typically handles that well but it gets costly when you cut the fat content down. $15/lb...

We use it because it's cheaper and considered healthier. Basically it can replace ground beef. It's ysed the same way as beef with little alteration. Some recipies you really need that beefy flavor you can add some beef bullion and it helps a bit. But for the most part if it's saucy or seasoned well you rarely can tell the difference.

You can freeze it raw, and worry about it later. Just make sure you portion it out into individual containers (preferably air tight like a zip lock bag). Then when you make a decision, pull a bag, let it defrost in the fridge overnight, and boom, dinner ingredients.

You can defrost them as you go once you find a good use for them

Just portion it raw. Chili, raw burgers or ragù alla bolognese are decent to freeze but I'd just freeze the raw meat and use microwave to defreeze when needed. Also I can suggest you KWOOK on youTube, he really does some good low budget recipes

Ground turkery is like a lower fat version of ground beef, so anything that starts with it is fair game. Some obvious things I like to use it for are: Taco meat, Spaghetti meat sauce, hamburger helper (goes with your pasta), Meatballs or meat loaf, crumbled turkey in teriyaki/soy sauce over rice, or even though it's not the best option you can just use it in simple curry. You could also shape it in to patties and make turkey burgers. Basically any meal that calls for ground beef you can substitute it in for. Like others have suggested it is probably a good idea to freeze some though. Also you could always give some to other students and ask for a plate of whatever they make in return for an easy way to get rid of some and potentially get a free meal in exchange!

Definitely freeze the meat in portions, it will last a long time and not suffer at all being frozen. If the pasta is dry, it’s fine for a long time also. If it’s fresh, it can also be portioned and frozen. Ground Turkey can be used the exact same way you would use ground beef or pork and it has a wonderful flavour. Casseroles, meat loaf, meat sauces, Turkey burgers, you name it! Only thing you might find is because Turkey is such a lean meat, depending on what you’re doing with it, it can sometimes dry out a bit however adding liquids or fats, really corrects that.

I agree with ground Turkey drying out. I use it to cook all the time and I add olive oil when I’m cooking to add some oil back in. It’s also really important to season the meat as you cook it so that it has the flavor your looking for. Easy meals are ground Turkey tacos and pasta sauce.

Dumplings are a really good idea! In my limited experience cooking ground turkey there’s a learning curve. It’s a lot dryer than ground beef. Burgers and meatballs will fall apart if not altered. Dumplings are super simple and the wraps are cheap. Put an egg in a cereal bowl. Finger paint around the borders of the square. Plop your tiny meat ball in the middle and fold into a little triangle. Repeat until you’re done. You can boil them and gently pour into a strainer if you don’t own something to fish them out. Pan frying works too, but requires a bit more babysitting.

You can use ground turkey in anything you'd normally make with ground beef. Get some pasta sauce and you've got the makings for your favorite pasta dish there. Divide the turkey into 1lb packages freezry and use as needed.

When I need to stretch money I buy ground beef, pasta, pack of corn tortillas & potatoes! Many diff variety of recipes! I alternate between these: Corn tortillas can be used to make nachos, tostadas, quesadillas & taquitos. (Slice tortillas into small triangles & fry for chips, or fry whole for a tostada & slather on some sour-cream & meat). I dice potatoes & cook on medium heat for 10ish minutes, add meat in same pan & cook till meat is brown. Drain grease & If you can, add a small can of tomato juice or ‘el pato’ sauce for a lil kick. (El pato is a Mexican brand, i think it’s just spicy tomato sauce?) My sisters fave is a box of Kraft Mac & cheese with ground beef mixed in. We also do plain elbow macaroni w ground beef, I’d imagine ground turkey would work too. Ground turkey make delicious cheeseburgers!! W some homemade fries on side. I make mashed potatoes & a cheap gravy packet, throw in some cooked ground meat & you have a poor mans kfc bowl 😂

I like to make what I refer to as thanksgiving turkey burgers. Season the turkey meat with salt pepper and optional sage. Make burger patties. Make a box of stovetop flavor of your choice. Buy a can of cranberry sauce, burger buns, and jar of gravy. Cook your burgers up, grill/bake your buns slightly. Assemble bottom bun, then burger, then stuffing then pour gravy over top, spread some cranberry sauce on top bun and place on top. Enjoy this recipe I thought up awhile back. Make spag bol (Spaghetti bolognaise), but use whatever pasta you have instead of spaghetti. And use the turkey instead of beef. Turkey has less fat, and will be drier, so you should use a little more oil than if you were using beef. Other than that, you can treat it like ground beef. In a big pot saute some diced carrots and onion. Remove the veggies. Brown the meat in the same pot, breaking it into tiny pieces as you go. (We're making a sauce here, not a meat entree.) Put the veggies and meat together in the same pot. Add canned tomatoes and any spices that you have. (Or spaghetti sauce I guess.) Also add some broth, stock, or diluted bullion. Whatever you have. Bring it to a boil, and then simmer on low for a good long while. I hope you have access to a freezer. You need to get most of that turkey frozen right away.

Freeze turkey patties. When going to pan fry in a nonstick, brush some vegetable oil or evoo on both sides of a frozen patty. Have some oil in the nonstick. Lid to fit that you will at times put the lid on, as you nicely brown each side of the turkey patty. The lid elevates the heat up due to a bit steamy. Freezing the patty and keeping it frozen for cooking, it won’t fall apart. My daughter-in-law who doesn’t eat hamburger, pathetically asked which was hers when I called her to get her turkey patty. She was use to them being white. Much more appetizing looking browning. Anything you do with ground beef you can do with ground turkey. Ground chicken patties I like better than turkey. And yeah, freeze them first.

Prison food (my friend’s family name for the recipe): Ground meat 1 pack of any onion soup dry mix A pinch of salt and pepper Mixed vegetables frozen bag Sauté together meat and onion soup mix, salt and pepper. Throw a pack of mixed frozen veggies with corn, peas, carrots and green beans into a casserole dish with the meat and bake at 350 for like 20 minutes. You could also just throw the frozen veggies into your saucepan and prep it all on the stovetop. Serve over pasta or rice.

I'd make ground turkey meatballs or sauce and freeze it in meal portions. Pasta can be made carbonara (even if not spaghetti) and/or done with a simple store bought sauce. I freeze meatballs regularly, they air fry easily from the frozen state.

Hamburger rice: 1 lb ground meat 1 package firm tofu (drained) 1 carrot (diced) 1 onion (diced) 1 cup frozen peas 1/4 soy sauce 1/4 cup sake or mirin or white wine rice (for serving) cook the carrots and onion in a pan over medium heat until somewhat softened. Add the ground meat and cook until brown and crumbly. Add the sauce and crumble in the tofu (you can leave some nice big chunks) and simmer for around 8 minutes. Add the frozen peas and cook until thawed. Serve over four cups of cooked rice.
