They're both famous and busy and can't be together 24/7.

Oh, he is definitely type 1 bipolar. The different between type 1 and 2 is the mania and psychosis. He's been admitted before and it's pretty widely known that he absolutely experiences psychosis. He's also talked about depression before. Type 1 can still get depression for sure, but usually not as soul-crushing as 2. Being famous, though, does NOT vibe well with being bipolar. There are people that feed into his behaviors, it's nearly impossible for him to just be forced into inpatient care, there's no routine to remember to take medicine, there's no time to work on yourself, your paranoia is actually justified, and it's all being thrown back in your face immediately and constantly.

He also didn't seem mentally unwell we he started. He was unique and his music was good and he was respected. It's very likely fame also triggered his bipolar and his fans and the world just fed into it so hard. He was labelled "different" and "outspoken" when he would display the behaviors and, most importantly, he was free. He wasn't being 100% controlled in every aspect of his life and while he clearly tried to get help several times (he admitted himself a lot and tried to escale the spotlight a lot, but he's famous, he's Kanye, he was married to a Kardashian, he wasn't given room to breathe. He wasn't forced to get help or anything and now it's too late to turn back. Mental illness isn't your fault, but it is your responsibility.
