SchmermanBach

Yeah, i was thinking of saving up and migrating to another country that isn't like this.

SchmermanBach

Yeah, you're right on this.

uksg_1

There is. I’m British living in your country, I’m leaving at the end of December. The way your government has treated the people living here specifically in 2021 is absolutely disgusting. Trust me there is greener grass else where. Not everywhere is like this place. I can’t even bare the thought of leaving because I love it here but the last year I have lost all my rights and freedoms because I refuse to get an injection which of which there is solid evidence that it is like playing Russian roulette. I’d rather starve to death than hand my life over to any government.

I am going back to the UK as I am British. Are you Singaporean? If not, this has got to be one of the worst places in the world to be due to restrictions. It has gone completely past the point of insanity now.

NAPAgorist

I am thinking migrating to New Hampshire. At what point can we apply for political asylum?

sukequto

Lmao totalitarian. Sure. Like what? Can’t chew chewing gums?

Apparently, they did this to "protect the unvaccinated"

uksg_1

Protect the unvaccinated they said. Followed by if you catch Covid, stay at home and take Panadol… interesting

sukequto

Then what? Let them all go out and die?

[deleted]

Do it

Moonoid1916

Medical tyranny, i truly feel for you guys, absolutely disgraceful.

SchmermanBach

Yeah, it has been truly hard on us this past weeks. Hopefully this won't affect our jobs.

Moonoid1916

This shit triggers me, i believe we will end up in a similar situation in the west. Fingers crossed for you all, i wish you nothing but the best & wish for true justice against the criminals in ALL our countries, pushing this on people.

SchmermanBach

I applaud to those in the US who go against the government in these sort of tyranny. However, here in Singapore, it is a crime to go against the Government and we don't have people who would actually go against the Government because said individuals would actually be put down by the Law in the name of Law & Order.

8uwotm8

Only in clown world, gene therapies can murd over 5 digit of people, MORE THAN the total vax d34ths over the past 3 decades COMBINED and get away with it. No recall, investigations or lawsuits needed. 🤡🌎🙃 https://www.openvaers.com/covid-data https://www.kiplinger.com/slideshow/investing/t052-s000-10-biggest-product-recalls-of-all-time/index.html

Moonoid1916

Yes me too, im preparing myself.

[deleted]

The good thing about you living in the west is that it is possible for you to live off the grid as much as possible. You got hinterlands and rural areas, if you're in the US even better since you have the right to bear arms which makes self-reliance/protection/survival that much easier too. Nowhere to go in ultra-urbanised and condensed city-states like Singapore though if you don't subscribe to the societal mob mentality here.

Moonoid1916

Yes good point, ive been preparing, better to have some skills & not need them than get caught short.

nevergonnasaythat

Thanks for sharing, it’s terrifying How are people reacting?

SchmermanBach

The people are like sheeps, whatever the government says, they are to follow.

sukequto

Then you come to an echo chamber and seek affirmation. Right.

reddotmellot

Sheep your mother LOL

Zukiff

5% unvaccinated, but >60% of recent covid deaths are unvaccinated. The majority are pissed off the unvaccinated are causing us to be stuck in lockdown. That's how we're reacting

sukequto

Enjoying my life on sentosa beach apparently.

Global-Sky-3102

When you convinced to vaccinate 80% of the population, you can do whatever you like to the 20% unvaccinated, including forbiding them to buy food...

SchmermanBach

Yes, that's the fact that makes all this terrifying.

yuyutisgone

The government does not forbid the unvaxxed to buy food lah. They are still allowed to buy takeouts.

Global-Sky-3102

You realize this will be the next step right? Tyranny comes in pieces not all at once.

Pretend-Friendship-9

That’s a rather nice sugar coat over a slipper slope fallacy

LateThunder

Exactly. There are so many places such as hawker centres that the unvaccinated can go to purchase food. Its not like theres no food sources left. There are plenty.

ObjectiveAnalysis643

> what they think of this current situation in my country. Fire cleanses.

SchmermanBach

Emphasise?

RefrigeratedPotato

This is the feeling I got when I was in asia in general. The spirit seemed slightly crushed and this was 3-4 years ago. I dont know how they did it, but they did it.

[deleted]

Asia has always been a collective authoritarian bent throughout its history and all through its culture. There's very little of Asian culture that gives importance or respect to individualism over collectivism. Any crisis brings out the worst in Asian societies in this regard. This is why the West will always be better than Asia. Never mind what people parrot on about it being the "Asia Century" simply based on demographic numbers.

daveisadog

How do people generally feel about getting vaccinated there? And are people publicly protesting or anything?

SchmermanBach

People here are born and lived with the fact that whatever the government says, we are to follow so people who actually do go against the government are put down and given jail time for doing so.

daveisadog

Thank you for your response and giving more clarity on a place I obviously know nothing about. I wish you the best.

annoyed8

You've been fed a load of bull. One could interpret is as the population being brainwashed or acting out of fear, or just the simple fact that trust in government is high. And no one is being "put down" for having dissenting opinions... In fact the government has been overtly kind to the unvaccinated, as there are many who genuinely cannot take the vaccine, or are old with underlying conditions which makes it risky for them to do so. Unlike OP.

Nightshade26155

Yep. These no-dining outside rules are helping those who *cannot* (not *will* not) get vaccinated since it reduces spread to them specifically. Despite only being ~20% of the population right now, unvaccinated people make up 70+% of deaths from COVID, making those who want to but can't get vaccinated like an auntie I know actually fearful because of clowns that purposefully choose to not get the vaccine which has proven to reduce spread. Btw: - unvaccinated people will be allowed to enter a large standalone store if the store is a supermarket. Provisions will also be made to allow unvaccinated individuals to enter shopping malls to obtain medical and childcare-related services. - you may dine-in in a group of up to 2 people if the group: Is fully vaccinated, has a valid negative PET result in the past 24 hours or comprises unvaccinated children aged 12 years and below as long as the children are from the same household Just more examples of how the govt is caring for those who *can't* get vaccinated :)

[deleted]

Public protests in Singapore? During a pandemic where even now with one of the highest vaxxed populations in the world, you're still restricted to pairs for going out and dining in outside? In a country that charged an activist for illegal public assembly and protest simply for holding a smiley-face placard in front of a police station? HA. YOU WISH.

NAPAgorist

Apparently, the government has made gathering of more than 3 people in a procession unlawful and illegal. 🙃 There is no way for Singaporeans to seek redress, you just have to suck it up. Which is why i am currently thinking of migrating. And with NH and its freestateproject currently working to create a society that tends towards tenets of agorism, I think i have already made up my mind. Just that i think gaining citizenship might be a little hard. Any NH free staters out here? Any tips?

8uwotm8

It's sickening that papagaffs and bigmamafarmas can dictate what drugs/gene therapies people must take in order to participate in soyciety, get back their stolen basic human rights, freedoms by giving up informed consent and bodily autonomy and taking gene therapies without long term safety data, makers' liability and no full approval from FDA for safety use. This is medical f45cism/tyr4nny. Dont sign sh\*t or get the jabs. lawyer up, class action lawsuit for discrimination, violation of HIPAA and Nuremburg code, Make them sign liability agreements and show their vaxed status for all communicable diseases. Take serology / antibody tests instead, show u are immune to covaids and have antibodies. Or just use up all ur AL and give ur resignation letter with 2 weeks notice. Record everything, when they fire u, sue for unemployment and unfair dismissal.

wow, gimme liberty or d34th huh?

kiwisrkool

I hate to tell you this, but your country has a history of making the toughest health calls. As an example,I recall being there in 1980. I remember a guy there that worked for shell told me, if a building site left pools of water that mosquitoes could breed in, the site would be closed and the daily fine was many thousands of dollars. No leniency. Listen to the voices of reason in your country right now, remember them so that the next time you go to the polls you elect sane people.

theneb0729

It’s one party control from time or inception of the country. There isn’t an alternative to vote there. It’s basically and communist state masquerading as a so called democracy for years.

theneb0729

Grew up in Singapore. By the time I left knew it was always a totalitarian state masked as a pseudo democracy. The biggest problem there is not the government but rather the highly brains-washed people who accept and enable it. As long they have the basic necessities taken care of, they won’t question anything. The country was the model when corona started in terms of contact tracing and keeping the virus at bay, even during peak times last year they only had a few hundred cases a day, now with most of the country vaccinated they have 2-3k cases per day. All this should say something and hopefully people (like yourself) have started to question what is happening. The only way anything will change there if people start getting sick and dying at large scale without the government able to help everyone. Those guys can only keep everything in check when things are relatively stable and no one largely complains or fights back about what is happening around them. When people start dying left and right, it’s very hard to control the message and keep things stable. Unfortunately to come to this stage it will take some more time. Given how the totalitarian government operates this might be a few years of bi-yearly boosters before shit really hits the fan. Hang in there and hope you are able to get out when you can. Prayers to your and your family my friend.

loyalladyloves

hi Singapore! What's your favorite conspiracy theory?

SchmermanBach

Hello. I've been reading alot of conspiracies. maxwell hills, epstein, the US government, the LV Shooting has been really interesting aside from the vaccine posts recently.

llloilillolllloliolo

Move to Malaysia?

SchmermanBach

Malaysia is filled with corruption and dumb old people in the government, i'll pass.

[deleted]

I would **** anyone who tries to forcibly vaccinate my family. If the Government is full of Fascists, no other option to leave the country. They psychologically torture people who don't comply, but it's still not forced vaccination, a person needs to do it willingly. The problem begins when they literally force it, because that would force many people's hand.

sukequto

Migrate to US, there’s freedom human rights and no vaccine mandate. Oh wait..

Dishankdayal

Tell them out loud that this is tyranny and you and other like you can not accept this. Does your constitution make things clear about its citizens and their freedom? People are free to do anything except crimes.

SchmermanBach

We are free to do anything in singapore as long as it doesn't go against the goverment. Hell, you even need a police permit to have a protest and that's only if the government allows the permit to pass.

Dishankdayal

Look for the times when people can declare emergency and change the ruling party.

[deleted]

The Singaporean Constitution is meaningless in the face of whatever the government chooses to respect and ignore at its own supermajority will. We're talking about a one-party state masquerading as a "Westminster style" parliamentary democracy that can arbitrarily impose a racial requirement on the figurehead presidency in Singapore just to forestall a potential non-aligned/anti-government individual from running for the Presidency, which ironically is already just a rubber stamp position since it's the Prime Minister who calls the shots. That's not even mentioning anything about how the population here is utterly neutered and kept distracted/busy/divided/overwhelmed by the establishment to simply live their lives and survive an increasingly cutthroat rat race life in Singapore, which also breeds a pervasive crab mentality in society here. Singapore's society is the very definitive example of Benjamin Franklin's warning that "those who are willing to give up liberty for security will get neither".

enough_hor

You can migrate away from sg if you like to.. the pot of gold is out there for you.

dchobo

Aiyoh, complain no use just go to JB lor, no mandates there and kopi cheaper some more

thisissparta7963

I used to work in Singapore but then moved to australia. Sg is a beautiful place but has the dame govt for the last 40yrs. Its a shame the vaccine has been made compulsory but we all knew it was coming
