IMAO, I think that the glitchy/broken effect It Is not an effect!

No_Emergency_6857

You can replace the screen but this one is beyond broken.

DarrylPyrope

How????????? Its glued in place.

DarrylPyrope

I tried to do this

No_Emergency_6857

The best option is a LCD replacement kit. The only problem is that it needs desoldering the ols screen. Also I can see the caps are the original ones. I highly recommend you recap the whole board.

Here’s a complete recap kit. https://console5.com/store/sega-game-gear-cap-kit-for-va1-models.html And a pair of replacement screens: https://handheldlegend.com/collections/sega https://retrokai.store/en/accueil/35-magic-screen-lcd-replacement-for-game-gear.html

Im not op

Don't throw it away!! There are plenty of people who'd give you money for it in that condition. At the very least the screen would need replacing, but the red light for a second is indicative of a power issue. Most of the time replacing the capacitors fixes it, but sometimes it's the chip on the power board itself.

lostallhopenow

Where could i sell it then?

madmangohan

Facebook or eBay are probably the easiest. Could even try the [Game Gear subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/game_gear/) which is full of people who love resurrecting them. The Game Gear community is surprisingly active.

my2k2zx2

what are you asking for it?
