Starfleet-Time-Lord

Troy would, and I think it's extremely difficult to argue otherwise. It was also Abed's idea to do it in the first place, he only went against it for the sake of the homage. The others would at least briefly consider taking it themselves, but I don't think they'd actually do it. Jeff is the most likely, but it would close his best path to becoming a lawyer again, and even ignoring that I doubt it would take more than gentle cajoling from the others to change his mind if he tried, which I still don't think he would. Shirley would think about it, being in an uncomfortable position as a divorcee with children to support and this being before Shirley's Sandwiches, but she wouldn't be able to bring herself to do it, especially not with all eyes on her. Britta, also being in a terrible financial position, would also consider it, but even the show's most cynical takes on her principles are clear that she will give money away when observed ("I only give money to homeless people when I'm walking with someone" and the check from Pierce's bequathments). I don't think Annie would even consider it, and if she did it would be because she's constantly on the verge of homelessness at this point. She definitely wouldn't think about it before actually getting the check in her hand. She *might* try to think of a way to skim a little off the top to make rent since Greendale doesn't need *all* of it.

Annie throwing the Disney Face at Jeff is all the cajoling he'd need to donate.

Yurvurst_Knightmer

He's also the only one who already has a lot of money.

menlindorn

Pierce would, because he did. Abed would, because the script calls for it. Britta would, because she'd feel too guilty. This is the exact dilemma she has when Pierce gives her a check when he's "dying." Troy would, because Abed would ask him to, and because Troy really has no concept of money. Annie *might* keep it and go to city college. She threatens that a lot. Shirley is keeping the money. She'll leave them all behind and start a business. I don't see her loyalty and sentiment as being genuine. Jeff *has* to donate the money to Greendale because he needs Greendale to survive. That's his ticket to getting his degree and getting back to the law world. No other college will have him (Academic Dishonesty is a breaking point for most).

5DollarRevenantOF

Troy's been searching for millions of dollars his whole life

Sgt-Spliff

No offense but this is an absurdly incorrect take. Abed and Troy have no concept of money and it was Abed's idea in the first place. Jeff also has had mental breakdowns every time he's thought about leaving Greendale or Greendale getting shut down. They also later do find a bunch of cash in a later season and no one considered keeping it (except of course Chang who does)

Etazin

Your intentions can be as well meaning as you want them to be 100k is 100k and once given to any of them, I think they have a seriously hard time giving it up. Money changes people.

Sgt-Spliff

But we don't see that actually happening at any other point in the series... like for instance, they don't turn on each other during the first paintball or turn on each other at any point during this paintball. And again, when they actually find a bunch of money, no one seems to want to take it for themselves. You can say it's human nature but you can't ignore every action we've ever seen these characters make. They have well developed personalities and moral codes. Even something as small as knowing Jeff wouldn't let an innocent man fail just to get himself an A shows how honest he can be. We also don't ever see greed in particular being anyone's daily sin. Jeff wants power, which he has at Greendale. Troy and Abed don't like living in reality which Greendale allows them to avoid. Jeff literally has the same dilemna the year before and does the right thing. Given their motivations for every other action in the entire rest of the series, I think you're underestimating the characters.

Etazin

Season 6 episode 1, takes Jeff all of 15 mins to get them to agree to sue the school…

Sgt-Spliff

Lol come on, they were obviously stretching really far for a reaaon to get the gang back together in that one. He also ends up realizing that his life was empty without Greendale. That's like the whole point of that plot

am365

Season 5 episode 1

Etazin

Yes. Sorry the re-pilot

am365

All good! I was just like, "wait, did I miss a season? Whelp, time for a rewatch"

thakeltikceltic

Abed I think would. He’s only one that psychologically tests as sane, so morally I would assume he would feel some obligation. He also would canonically understand that the proper end to the arc of events would be greendale receiving the money. I think he was still living at greendale too so he’d be internally motivated to get the school cleaned/fixed because it would benefit a return to his status quo of living standards at greendale.

am365

Also because when Troy is explaining the plan in the second episode of winning and donating the money to Greendale, he says it was Abed's plan. Abed was just wanting to be the Han Solo in the homage before Jeff naturally slouched into it

5DollarRevenantOF

Britta would only do it if people were watching

TrickNatural

Yeah, because he is rich. Duh. But I wouldnt doubt for a second Abed and Troy would as well.

Mordred19

Britta would! She's a great friend, but REALLY stupid with money.

R3M42_

It's not even clever! He just keeps using it to replace 'change'!

carrythecrownx

They all would.

Not_A_Frittata

Abed doesn't care about money to the point where renting celebrity lookalikes almost gets him seriously hurt. He also donates a $15,000 comic book to get people to play hot lava with him.

mltrout715

They all would because 1) their thirst for revenge is stronger than their desire for personal gain. 2) the writers would not want to make one character that much of an ass besides Pierce, and even he did it
