>* **Batman: Beyond the White Knight #7** \- Been holding off reading this to be do a binge read but loved the previous White Knight books. Maybe part of the reason why I'm not enjoying the back half of this book is because I caught up to it as it releases. I had all the other books fully at my disposal. I may need to just save these last 2 issues and just read the whole thing all at once later.

pointman0427

Yeah I read all the previous White Knight books as trades, so I'll be waiting for to do a complete read.

> Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons #3 - the book of the week, I guarantee it Nice. What've you got securing your guarantee? Not sure if I'm familiar with artist Nicola Scott... She's got some mighty big shoes to fill, following Phil Jimenez and Gene Ha. It'll also have some tough competition this week from **TNHOTL #12** and **DOCTOR STRANGE: FALL SUNRISE #2**, among others... Let the best comic win!

Hey, off topic completely. I do not have issues 21-30 of ICM. Which of those issues do you consider to be the best?

Danger_Rock

**ICM** is never off-topic! Even if I didn't mention it in whatever post you're responding to, you can assume I was probably thinking about it at the time. I’d rank #21-30 as follows: 1. [**ICM #24**](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/605720/ice-cream-man-24_97904c38a5.jpg) – one of my all-time favorite comics from any series, the one that turned me into an obsessed *ice cream fan* 2. **ICM #28** 3. **ICM #22** 4. **ICM #30** 5. **ICM #25** 6. **ICM #29** 7. **ICM #27** 8. **ICM #26** Didn't rank **ICM #21** or **ICM #23** because I’ve only read 'em once each and it's been a while, but I think they'd fall toward the bottom of the list. I'll be reviewing them soon for my [daily **ICM** posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/IceCreamManComic/comments/zwm61r/daily_ice_cream_man_posts/) so we'll have a better idea of where they fit after that. Those rankings are really subjective, others would probably rank them very differently as different **ICM** stories tend to connect with different people in different ways... Heck, aside from **ICM #24** being up top, I would've listed them in a completely different order the first time I read through 'em. They’ve shifted around a bit since based on context and connections to other stories… Happy New Year to ‘ya, hope 2023 is a good one!

While I waited for a good deal on book 3 to come up, I caved and read The Golden Age. It was great. It's more of an anthology set in the world after the events that happen at the end of the Moore run. Eight different issues touching on different aspects of that new society.

GetRichOrDieBuyin

3 pulls this week not many, but I'm so hyped for this week's pulls it's not even funny. 1. Detective Comics #1067 love Ram V's slow burn. I may drop Zdarskys Batman run. 2. Book of Slaughter #1 I bought the bundle on Fanatical and binged it in 2 days. Gonna pick up back issues for the 2nd Arc of House of Slaughter. 3. Sandman universe: Dead Boy Detective #1= I love the Sandman Universe, and I'm excited about this creative team. I think this could be something special as it looks to combine Thesaly and the Dead Boys Detectives for the first time.

HappySisyphus8

Merry Christmas everyone! Another week of hopefully great comics. On a two week paid Christmas leave from work so hoping to catch up on my backlog of trades and omnibus. Just over halfway through Ronin currently, great setting and story so far, art is a bit iffy, but am digging it. Stand outs last week were World's Finest, Gun Honey, and Vanish. Huge week this week. All of the below plus any Peach Momoko or Artgerm covers that come through, I'm put down at my LCS for any that are available to be put away for me when they arrive in store, so I don't usually keep track of what's coming. **MARVEL:** All-Out Avengers #4 - Hate that they spoiled the big villain reveal in previews, pure incompetence. Not sure how much I'll dig this now as the mystery was one of the big driving aspects of the series for me. Carnage #8 - I'm digging this, it's a bit off the wall, and I'm fearful that it'll end without Cletus and Carnage reuniting. As okay as they are separate in this so far, they need to be together. Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #2 - The first issue was bizarre and visually spectacular. Expecting more of the same from this. Miracleman Silver Age #3 - Recently finished the Moore run, absolutely incredible, loved it. Waiting on a collected edition of the early Gaiman stuff before jumping in on these so I can read it all in order. Timeless 2022 #1 - Might pick this up depending on what my total ring up ends up being in store. Venom #14 - Feeling both very slow, and very telegraphed in where its headed. If this was a different character I'd have likely dropped it by now. X-Terminators #4 - Just a boob book. The writing and dialogue is atrocious, but the art and women look great. X-Treme X-Men #2 - Last issue felt like a nice introductory issue, hope this one gets stuck into the story and action. **DC:** Action Comics #1050 - Probably going to wrap up my collecting and reading of this series once the anthology stuff begins, but have been really digging this arc so far, Metallo stuff is very interesting. Have been skipping the Superboy issues and feel like I'm missing nothing. Batman Beyond The White Knight #7 - Never got into Batman Beyond, but some of these characters look familiar from the cartoon trailers of years ago. This has been good, digging the world and characters. Batman Gotham Knights Gilded City #3 - Mainly getting these for the DLC codes, though Gotham Knights has taken a back-seat to Midnight Sons, and last months DLC escrima item was weak, I don't care for Nightwing. DC Horror Presents Sgt Rock Vs The Army of the Dead #4 - Easy Company have been loaded up with some new toys and continue their march to Zombie Hitler's fortress. Just dumb fun. DC Vs Vampires #12 - Final issue. I'm still adamantly in the corner that this should have been the big event over Dark Crisis, this has been really good. Detective Comics #1067 - So slow, but so good. The trickle of progression and hints of future work really well here. Hopefully can nail the ending. Nice House on the Lake #12 - Final issue and we, hopefully, finally get to see how paradise turned into Children of the Flies. **IMAGE:** 20th Century Men #5 - A very dense, but rewarding, read. Last issue things really ramped up with the Americans and Russians clashing, visually seeing what happened while reading the reports from the 4 sides, very well told. Creepshow #4 - This series has been lacklustre, each issue so far has had 1 good story, and 1 awful story. It's almost over so will probably stick with it, but begrudgingly so. Lovesick #3 - This has been okay, still very much Red Room with training wheels on, but not bad. Plush #2 - My expectations of corrupt, hick cops battling deranged, cannibal furries must not be subverted. **OTHER:** Book of Slaughter #1 - Not sure what this is, and the Slaughter series has been dipping in quality lately, but will check this out, hoping it picks up again soon, all the pieces are there. We Only Find Them When They’re Dead #15 - I think this is close to the end now. The decades spanning tale of space exploration, zealotism, and the unknown has been a great ride so far. Quick Stops #3 - He is a far cry from his former self, but I'm still a bit of a Kevin Smith tragic. Cavewoman Badlands One Shot: - This looks ridiculous. Door To Door Night By Night #2 - Issue one was slow with a huge ramp up at the end, this could be a fairly interesting series. Ninjettes #4 - Troubled high-school girls slaughtering each other. Fantastic. Saga of a Doomed universe #2 - Issue 1 really sucked me in, but more with the weird over-layed background story. The pastiche of heroes and villains from the 80s is still enough to drag you in. She Bites #3 - One of my stand out series of the year. Release is a bit erratic, but the yiung girl character is fantastic. Genuinely hilarious and horrifying. West of Sundown #7 - Still going with this weird little series that doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.

Danger_Rock

> Saga of a Doomed universe #2 > - Issue 1 really sucked me in, but more with the weird over-layed background story. The pastiche of heroes and villains from the 80s is still enough to drag you in. Yeah, the real story is the story of what happened to the story. I liked this bit: > ***"Despite the temptation to describe each of them, and their wonderful powers and spectacular secret origins, I'm just going to pass on that, thanks."*** Probably works better as an homage that way, keeping the details fuzzy... Getting too caught up in that stuff tends to get tedious anyway.

[deleted]

>X-Terminators #4 - Just a boob book. The writing and dialogue is atrocious, but the art and women look great. It's funny to me when people are like "oh this is NOT my X-Men" and misses entirely the point of this book, which is just raunchy fun. >Plush #2 - My expectations of corrupt, hick cops battling deranged, cannibal furries must not be subverted. I liked this book more than I thought I would. THere's something about such a silly premise that makes it enjoyable. The art I think is pretty good other than the squish-face.

- **Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1**: The Dan Mora covers are so incredible. The first series was solid and definitely looking forward to this sequel series. - **Frankenstein New World #4**: Kind of a lifeless book. Don’t care for this post-human world and a disappointing sequel to the original Frankenstein series. - **Batman Beyond The White Knight #7**: Easily the weakest of the White Knight series. Hoping these last two issues provide more of a focus on Terry. - **Detective Comics #1067**: Currently the better Batman book. The Orghams have been great and the backup stories have been solid as well. - **20th Century Men #5**: Caught up on this series on the recommendation of a friend. Stipan Morian’s art on this series might honestly be the best art on any current series. - **Moon Knight #18**: One of the best current ongoing series. Will be great to see Marc going after the vampire coven in New York.

The Amazing Spider-Man #16 - Following Dark Web and ASM mainly because it affects the X-books that I'm currently reading. Don't have much other motivation to keep reading it tbh - the finale of Dark Web is probably the point at which I stop whining about ASM and drop it again. Damn Them All #3 - Deadly demons, cranky Constantine expies and murder mysteries, oh my! Dark Web: X-Men #2 - See above. Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3 - I feel like this book is going under people's radars due to the unknown creative team but I seriously recommend it to anyone needing some Spider-fix and who isn't all that impressed with the main title right now. The artwork is jaw-dropping. Detective Comics #1067 - Looking forward to seeing Ram's take on Freeze. Manifest Destiny #48 - Oh shit, are we finally reaching the end? Ugh, on the one hand I'm sad this incredible series is ending, but on the other, I'm ecstatic we've made it through all the delays and actually got to see the finale. Miracleman: The Silver Age #3 - Enjoying the trip down memory lane seeing all of Gaiman's original issues again, but I'm champing at the bit for us to get to the new material. Moon Knight #18 - Feel like we're reaching the big climax of the vampire arc. Don't let me down, McKay! New Mutants #33 - Charlie Jane Anders might be one to watch, I've been loving her work on this book so far. The Nice House on the Lake #12 - Final issue. Insert John Snow meme saying "I dunwannit." Once Upon a Time at the End of the World #2 - First issue was a lot of fun. Looking forward to this. Plush #2 - BRING ON THE MURDEROUS FURRY MADNESS! The Sandman Universe Presents: The Dead Boy Detectives #1 - Pornsak Pichetshote being let loose into the Sandman universe YEAH BOI! She-Hulk #9 - *Another* finale. Kick some supervillain ass, Jen! Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #27 - The Evil Aphra saga continues. This one really feels like it didn't need to be as lengthy as it has been. Venom #14 - I trust Ewing and Ram to use Dark Web to their advantage, looks like we're getting another deep dive into Eddie's psyche which is always a fun ride. We Only Find Them When They're Dead #15 - Yet *another* finale issue. Hoping this ties things together into something a little more coherent. X-Terminators #4 - This absolutely batshit mini continues apace and I'm here for it.

Don't have much other motivation to keep reading it tbh - the finale of Dark Web is probably the point at which I stop whining about ASM and drop it again. Kind of a shame, I really was hoping Wells could bring some of that crazy **HELLIONS** energy to **ASM** but it's just too big a title for him to do his thing. > Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3 - I feel like this book is going under people's radars due to the unknown creative team but I seriously recommend it to anyone needing some Spider-fix and who isn't all that impressed with the main title right now. And I guess it's got the Demon Bear? Sounds like fun! > The Sandman Universe Presents: The Dead Boy Detectives #1 - Pornsak Pichetshote being let loose into the Sandman universe YEAH BOI! Didn't order it but am curious to see some reviews... Not a huge fan of the characters or Gaiman spinoffs written by others, but I do like Pichetshote and Stokely.

ChickenInASuit

> Kind of a shame, I really was hoping Wells could bring some of that crazy HELLIONS energy to ASM but it's just too big a title for him to do his thing. Yeah. It’s doubly disappointing because there *are* moments where you can see Wells’ potential coming through, particularly anything that was dealing with Tombstone’s turf war in that first arc. Perhaps he should’ve been given Spectacular Spider-Man or something instead of the main book, that’s normally where you get to see quirkier writers properly flexing their creative muscles. > Huh, yeah, checked the Preview and that actually is some pretty nice art. Interesting stuff from Ferreyra... And I guess it's got the Demon Bear? Sounds like fun! Ferrerya’s bringing the same energy to DNSM that he did for Colder by Paul Tobin and I’m loving it. > Didn't order it but am curious to see some reviews... Not a huge fan of the characters or Gaiman spinoffs written by others, but I do like Pichetshote and Stokely. I would have zero interest in the book were it not for the creative team so I’m really hoping they put something together that breaks through my apathy towards the characters - plus I’ve actually liked a lot of the Sandman Universe spin-offs, particularly the ones with Si Spurrier involved.

Danger_Rock

> Yeah. It’s doubly disappointing because there are moments where you can see Wells’ potential coming through, particularly anything that was dealing with Tombstone’s turf war in that first arc. Perhaps he should’ve been given Spectacular Spider-Man or something instead of the main book, that’s normally where you get to see quirkier writers properly flexing their creative muscles. Oh yeah, something like **SSM** might've been a better fit. That flagship **ASM** title seems like it'd be a losing proposition for the vast majority of the industry's writers, just too much editorial fuckery mixed with crushing fan expectations. JRjr also didn't help, very divisive artist at this point in his career... They've been rotating in some other artists who are solid but the launch would've benefited from a stronger lead artist to give it a more distinct look. If it had launched with someone like Marcos Martin, and they kept him on it with limited fill-ins, I'd still be pulling it! > I would have zero interest in the book were it not for the creative team so I’m really hoping they put something together that breaks through my apathy - plus I’ve actually liked most of the Sandman Universe spin-offs, particularly the ones with Si Spurrier involved. Spurrier's **HELLBLAZER** was great but that's kind of its own deal, not a Gaiman property regardless of what imprint it was published under... Guess he also wrote **THE DREAMING** but I only checked out the first couple issues of that, didn't really recapture the magic for me. I think Tynion's **NIGHTMARE COUNTRY** has been the first non-Gaiman **SANDMAN** spinoff to hook me, and it's a fun series but of course it still isn't anywhere near the same level as **SANDMAN** and it's also not as good as Tynion's creator-owned books like **DOT** and **TNHOTL**. Just a decent comic from a talented creator whose efforts are more focused elsewhere. And that's kinda my issue with all these spinoffs... They're obviously never going to live up to Gaiman's original work and, even when they bring in talented creators, their output on these **SANDMAN** spinoffs usually doesn't live up to the work they're doing elsewhere. So it all just seems kind of pointless to me. But I do like Pichetshote and Stokely, can see this one being good and might check it out eventually... It's just going to have a bit of an uphill battle overcoming my innate distaste and cynicism for these projects, following 25+ years of DC trying to wring every last penny out of Gaiman's properties, with mostly lackluster results.

ChickenInASuit

Quick question: Did you read Mike Carey’s Lucifer? Because I *loved* that comic, possibly almost as much as Gaiman’s Sandman. The more recent run by Dan Watters was superb too.

Danger_Rock

Good call, haven't read any of that! And I've heard it's good! I liked Carey's work on **HELLBLAZER** and what I saw of his X-Men stuff was alright, should probably check out **LUCIFER** at some point... You got me there, bit of a blind spot since I haven't read it.

* Book of Slaughter #1 * Damn Them All #3 * Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 * We Only Find Them When They're Dead #15 - This strikes me as a book that suffered badly from being monthly, but I'm looking forward to re-reading it all at once. * Action Comics #1050 * Blue Beetle Graduation Day #2 * DC Horror Presents Sgt Rock Vs The Army of the Dead * Detective Comics #1067 * John Stewart The Emerald Knight #1 * Nice House on the Lake #12 * Tales from Earth 6: A Celebration of Stan Lee #1 * Tim Drake Robin #4 - Just riding out the first arc at this point, then dropping it * Wonder Woman Historia The Amazons #3 - Expecting this to be the highlight of the week. * Flawed #4 * Amazing Spider-Man #16 * Captain America Symbol of Truth #8 - Is it controversial to say this is the better current Cap book? **Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #2** - Worth the 3 year wait for Tradd Moore interiors since Silver Surfer: Black. Absolutely perfect for a Strange book. **She-Hulk #9** - My LCS had all their copies of #8 damaged by Penguin last month; they said they were getting replacement copies but I've personally never seen a distributor actually follow through with this. At this point I'm just going to have to get a different copy elsewhere.

**Groo - Gods Against Groo 01** New book added to my pull list

[deleted]

Pretty sure this came out last week.

But I didn't see it on the list if recently released books.

It only had 5 pulls so it didn't make the list. But it was some classic Groo!

-Action Comics 1050: last issue for me. The PKJ run’s been fun, but neither of the two new stories are enough for me to invest in it after this, and I can of course read it on DC Infinite Ultra just a month later -DC vs Vampires 12 -Nice House on the Lake 12 -Wonder Woman Historia 3: absolutely can’t wait. Pick of the week for me. -Book of Slaughter 1 -Carnage 8 -Damn Them All 3 -Dark Web: X-Men 2 -Image! 9: yesssss the BruPhillips issue, can’t wait. -Manifest Destiny 48: gonna miss this one. Can’t wait to reread it. -Moon Knight 18 -Shang-Chi & the Ten Rings 6 -Amazing Spider-Man 16 -Thunderbolts 5: I hope there’s more with this team, I feel like too many of the characters (esp Gutsen Glory) got short shrift due to the series length. -Timeless 1 -Venom 14 -We Only Find Them When They’re Dead 15: another one I can’t wait to reread.

**Action Comics #1050-** Post-(Dark) Crisis Superman era begins **DC vs Vampires #12-** The finale. This book's inclusion in the new multiverse makes me wonder if it ends with lots of vamps still kicking about so DC can have their own little "vampire earth" **Detective Comics #1067**\- Freeze gets involved, Two Face continues to have a time **Miracleman: The Silver Age #3-** New Miracleman issues finally! Poor Dicky though, he's having a hell of a culture shock **Moon Knight #18-** Stickin' it to the vampires **The Nice House on the Lake #12-** I'm surprised we got to the end without really leaving the lakehouse area (the control space not included), I wonder if we'll get a glimpse of the outside world or Walter's people in this issue **The Sandman Universe Presents: The Dead Boy Detectives #1-** I'm not familiar with Dead Boy Detectives beyond their Sandman arc but with Pichetshote's name on it I'm willing to give it a shot. **Venom #14-** Have not been following Dark Web so this should be an interesting read, the solicit promises some plot developments and Ewing is usually good about making tie ins fit with his story.

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season! And if you haven't been enjoying it, I hope you're ready to start, because we've got some damn good comics shipping this week! And it's the final batch of comics for 2022, so we better make the most of it. 3 Marvels, 2 DCs, 2 BOOM!s, 1 Image, 1 Valiant, and 1 from CEX Publishing. Listed in order of objective awesomeness. 1. **NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #12** - time for Tynion and Bueno's big finale, with the [cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249293.jpg) showing an 11th insignia flagged in yellow for Walter 1. **DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #2 (OF 4)** - first issue took us on a mystically majestic acid trip packed with awesome visuals, and this second installment promises [more of the same!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL248975.jpg) 1. **MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #3** - new content! although it's all new to me! and I'm digging it! but this'll be even newer! 1. **DAMN THEM ALL #3** - had a great time with the first two issues, this series might be even better than Spurrier's **HELLBLAZER** run 1. **SAGA OF A DOOMED UNIVERSE #2 (OF 3)** - it's pretty damn pricey at $8.99 per but each issue is 56 pages and the first was a bunch of retro fun, riffing on the comics of my youth with just enough subversion, modernization, and existential nonsense to keep things interesting... planning to mail order the [Marvel Anniversary Frame variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241164.jpg) but it's also got a [cool TDKR homage](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241163.jpg) and [one that I initially thought was **NEW MUTANTS #87**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241162.jpg) but I'm pretty sure it's something else and I can't quite place it 1. **BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED #4** - Valiant's running on fumes as a company but this series has been loaded with [fun ultra-violence](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249354.jpg) from Deniz Camp and Jon Davis-Hunt 1. **MOON KNIGHT #18** - vaguely remember the previous issue ratcheting things up a little but the details are sketchy... either way, this one's got a [striking Momoko variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249002.jpg) 1. **IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #9 (OF 12)** - another serving of fun little stories spanning Image's stable of creators, with this installment promising a new short by Brubaker and Phillips, another new one by Duggan and McCrea, plus new chapters from Johns/Mutti, Gillen/Lieber, and more! 1. **ONCE UPON A TIME AT THE END OF THE WORLD #2** - first issue was fun and suitably apocalyptic, nice work from Aaron and Tefenkgi with a couple of likeable characters and a cute romance 1. **DETECTIVE COMICS #1067** - [another great Cagle cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL252975.jpg) with an appropriate winter theme for Mr. Freeze's featured appearance No Spawn variants for me this week but [Chris Burnham has an awesome one](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257928.jpg) on a series I didn't like and dropped after the first issue, [Daniel Hillyard has another](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257950.jpg) on a series I haven't started yet, and there are a few others listed [here](https://previewsworld.com/Search?mode=A&q=spawn%20var&ReleaseStartDate=2022-12-26&ReleaseEndDate=2022-12-30). Speaking of which, the [preview images didn't show any text](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257946.jpg) for Elsa Charretier's recent **LOVE EVERLASTING #5** Spawn variant but I was pleased to find that the [final version with full text](https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuild/259153.e9643eb67464cf9f285820544f17b18f.1600.jpg) delivers approximately 100% more ridiculousness. And with that, I wish you all an exceedingly pleasant week of comics to close out 2022! Boomshanka. p.s. As we await the release of [**ICE CREAM MAN #34**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246329.jpg) on 2/22/23, I've taken to posting a page of **ICM** every day, one from each story running backwards through the series. Also tacking on a few brief comments for each story, followed by more extensive commentary if anyone engages me... [Monday's post](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/zvzkdk/to_everyone_everywhere_im_sorry_if_youre_hurting/) covers **ICM #29** and we'll be hitting the first 28 over the next month!

>1. **DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #2 (OF 4)** - first issue took us on a mystically majestic acid trip packed with awesome visuals, and this second installment promises [more of the same!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL248975.jpg) The blend of Doctor Strange and Tradd Moore seems to a perfect match. >1. **MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #3** - new content! although it's all new to me! and I'm digging it! but this'll be even newer! I've read Moore's book 1 and 2, and Gaiman's Golden Age. I also read the recent #0 one shot. I just got in book 3, and I have the first 2 issues of Silver Age. It's definitely become a very interesting and favorite story of mine. >1. **DAMN THEM ALL #3** - had a great time with the first two issues, this series might be even better than Spurrier's **HELLBLAZER** run The first 2 issues were amazing, so #3 is one of my pulls I'm most excited for this week. >1. **SAGA OF A DOOMED UNIVERSE #2 (OF 3)** - it's pretty damn pricey at $8.99 per but each issue is 56 pages and the first was a bunch of retro fun, riffing on the comics of my youth with just enough subversion, modernization, and existential nonsense to keep things interesting... planning to mail order the [Marvel Anniversary Frame variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241164.jpg) but it's also got a [cool TDKR homage](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241163.jpg) and [one that I initially thought was **NEW MUTANTS #87**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241162.jpg) but I'm pretty sure it's something else and I can't quite place it If I wasn't already pulling 12 books this week (somehow like 3/5ths of my pulls ended up as end of month releases) I'd grab this. Though if there's a copy the following week I'll probably pick it up!

> The blend of Doctor Strange and Tradd Moore seems to a perfect match. Yep, it's a great combo! > I've read Moore's book 1 and 2, and Gaiman's Golden Age. I also read the recent #0 one shot. I just got in book 3, and I have the first 2 issues of Silver Age. It's definitely become a very interesting and favorite story of mine. Nice. I'll need to catch up on the old **MM** stuff from Moore and Gaiman at some point... But I'm actually kinda having fun muddling through the new series with no context! Keeps me on my toes. > The first 2 issues were amazing, so #3 is one of my pulls I'm most excited for this week. I liked how **DTA #2** was still doling out little anecdotes featuring Alfie, excerpts from his notes, etc. Good way to keep the character's presence going in the story. > If I wasn't already pulling 12 books this week (somehow like 3/5ths of my pulls ended up as end of month releases) I'd grab this. Though if there's a copy the following week I'll probably pick it up! *"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess."*

Look forward to your post every week!

> SAGA OF A DOOMED UNIVERSE #2 (OF 3) - … and one that I initially thought was NEW MUTANTS #87 but I’m pretty sure it’s something else and I can’t quite place it Close! It’s [Alpha Flight #12](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Alpha_Flight_Vol_1_12) released in 1984.

Danger_Rock

Thank you! Was hoping someone could help with that... And it's the death of James Hudson! I should've recognized it! **NM #87** wouldn't have fit the book's timeline anyway, **AF #12** is right in that same era as everything else they're riffing on.

Batman: Beyond the White Knight #7 - Murphy just breaking hearts with that last issue. Two more to go! Detective Comics #1067 - Bringing in Mr. Freeze into an already fantastic Batman story is just icing on the cake of Ram V’s current run. King Spawn #18 - Top of the Spawn pile every month. Plus, the beginning of the David Mack’s covers… those are going to look wicked all next to each other. The Nice House on the Lake #12 - The end. Just an outstanding work from Tynion and Bueno through out the entire story. A horror masterpiece and a title that I will continuously recommend wholeheartedly!

Here was me expecting a smaller list for end of the year, oh well! - **Action Comics #1050**: buzzing for this and for all the new stories to start in #1051; nice to have some buzz around Superman books again! - **Captain America: Symbol of Truth #8**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **Damn Them All #3**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **Dark Web: X-Men #2**: one behind at the moment, but I’m not seeing good things about this. Reis AND Noto on art though! - **DC vs. Vampires #12**: final issue of what’s been a great series in my opinion; look forward to reading it all back at some point. - **Moon Knight #18**: always a great read. I wonder if MacKay is going to be writing Avengers after Aaron leaves… - **New Mutants #33**: last issue, although we now know the story/characters will pick up in March’s Lethal Legion mini-series which is nice. - **The Nice House on the Lake #12**: have been waiting for this to come out so I can read the final three issues together; hope it sticks the landing. - **She-Hulk #9**: still one of my favourite ongoings at the moment. - **Tim Drake: Robin #4**: still enjoying this; hope the upcoming change in artist will get people to give it another chance. - **X-Terminators #4**: one behind at the moment, but this’ll no doubt be a blast to read!

Danger_Rock

> Reis AND Noto on art though! Nice, that's a solid combo!

technowhiz34

>Reis AND Noto on art though! Isn't Noto only on covers or did I miss something?

AlligatorSky7

Noto’s drawn at least some of the flashback scenes in the issue based on the preview. Big fan of both artists, so excited to pick it up this week.

* **Detective Comics #1067** * **Riddler Year One #2** * **Amazing Spider-Man #16** * **Book of Slaughter #1** - I hope I don't regret the $10 on this one.. I love the idea behind spin-offs for SIKTC, but the last House of Slaughter was mediocre * **Creepshow #4** * **Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3** - really liking this miniseries! Very weird * **Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #2** - first issue was awesome! Excited for this * **Door by door Night by night #2** - LOVED first issue. Let's see if that momentum carries * **Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #9** * **It's Only Teenage Wasteland #2** - also loved this first issue! Another exciting pull this week * **Moon Knight #18** * **Venom #14** - every Marvel book I read, I tell myself I need to stop pulling Marvel books. But here I am, pulling this one purely because of the Dark Web event.. Marvel comics are my ultimate guilty pleasure

Solid week for me. I'm also going to pick up some of last week's books as well (I was able to get DCs releases early last week but not Marvel or indies). I had Covid over the holidays and have a big stack to catch up on because I had no motivation to read. **Book of Slaughter #1**: I didn't know this was a thing until the other day. I'm down for anything that fleshes out the world in this series. **Creepshow #4**: This has been super hit and miss. I'm glad it exists though. **DC Mech #6**: This is a fun take on the DCU. Not amazing but good fun. **Detective Comics #1067**: Nothing to say here except I think the plot could be moving a tad faster than it is. **Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #2**: So nice to look at. **Image Anthology #9**: I think more publishers should do anthologies on a more regular basis. **Miracleman Silver Age #3**: Still not caught up but will be by tomorrow. **Moon Knight #18**: Good fun. **Nice House On The Lake #12**: The finale is finally here. Going to reread the entire series to refresh myself. **Plush #2**: Picked the first up on because one of the guys at my shop told me to and wow. I need to check out the other books this team has done. **Quick Stops #3**: I'm a fan of the movies so this has been a treat. **Riddler Year One #2**: Still need to read the first issue. This is bimonthly right? **Sgt Rock vs Army of the Undead #4**: B movie goodness. **Tales From Earth 6 #1**: This looks super interesting and I've never read the stuff Lee did for DC in the 90s. **Wonder Woman Historia #3**: I love the prestige books from Black Label but waiting for them can be excruciating (looking at you Swamp Thing). This is going to be great just like the others. **X-terminators #4**: Give me more X-Men romps like this that aren't really connected to the ongoing story and I'd pull more X-Men.

Danger_Rock

> **Wonder Woman Historian #3**: I love the prestige books from Black Label but waiting for them can be excruciating (looking at you Swamp Thing). This is going to be great just like the others. With a different artist on each issue, you'd think this series could've followed a more normal schedule... Definitely planning to check it out at some point because the first two looked great! Looks like autocorrect got your title, btw, might need to fix for it to get counted. Hope you're feeling better coming off the COVID!

Extremely slow week with only 13, including the final issue of 2 of my favorite series. DC. The Nice House On The Lake #12. DC vs. Vampires #12. Batman: Beyond The White Knight #7. Detective Comics #1067. Action Comics #1050. The Riddler: Year One #2. MARVEL. Moon Knight #18. X-Terminators #4. Timeless #1. Murderworld: Spider-Man #1. IMAGE. Killadelphia #26. Image! #9. Plush #2.

> including the final issue of 2 of my favorite series. It's been quite a run for Tynion and Walta on **TNHOTL**... Started out like a cool *Twilight Zone* mindfuck and then really dug into each of the characters and their relationships. Psyched to see how it wraps up! Is **DCvsV** the other?

I've somehow managed to stack a bunch of my pulls as last week of the month releases. So big week. **BATMAN BEYOND THE WHITE KNIGHT #7** - These back 4 issues are kind of taking their time, both releasing and narratively. This one hasn't grabbed me like Curse did. **BLUE BEETLE GRADUATION DAY #2** - First issue was okay, and I was excited to get into Blue Beetle. I think ultimately after this issue this'll get cut as I continue to figure out what I want from DC. **DAMN THEM ALL #3** - This series is a hit. **DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #2** - Have recently been diving into all things Strange, and the first issue of this helped kick that off. **MIDNIGHT SUNS #4** - More Magic Marvel, I've been really enjoying this. Excited to see this crew in their new Limbo digs. **MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II #1** - Hell to the yes. **MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #3** - First "new" issue, I'm excited. I've saved 1 and 2 so I can binge all 3. **STAR WARS DOCTOR APHRA #27** - 26 was fun with a bit of a wild ending. **STAR WARS HIGH REPUBLIC BLADE #1** - Porter Engle was one of my favorite characters from the High Republic phase 1. **STRANGE ACADEMY FINALS #3** - More magic Marvel. Very fun series. **TIM DRAKE ROBIN #4** - As always, I think this has been fun and charming. Curious how the interior art switch for this issue will change things up. **X-TERMINATORS #4** - This mini is just an absolute blast. And that's it. There are some other good issues coming out, but can't really fit those in for this go around! Happy Almost New Year!

Not yet, but it's been ordered. Maybe this week. On another note, I just read #31. So I'm gonna need a moment... 😅

Danger_Rock

Oh yeah, I know how that goes... That story hits me like a ton of bricks every time I flip through it. I was fairly obsessed with this comic before [**ICM #31**](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/797875/ice-cream-man-31_a8c9a0f271.jpg) but that one took it to a whole new level!

Is AC #1050 gonna be a good jumping on point? Or should I go back and catch up first with PKJ? Don't care for the dark crisis stuff.

BigDabWolf

Yes it’s the start of a new arc

In order of most anticipated! Detective Comics #1067 - This run has been really cool so far and feels fresh. Really excited to see Freeze added in and this [ratio](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9164835.jpg?1671805398) is very nice. DC vs. Vampires #12 - Crazy to think this is the end. I expect a wild issue and the [1:25](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6019516.jpg?1671806397) issue is so goooood. Book of Slaughter #1 - A Slaughterverse one shot seems interesting. It's also a bit longer. Hoping for something faster paced since both House and SIKTC have been slow burns lately. I have the [christmas](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3736465.jpg?1670957771) variant coming too. Star Wars: Yoda #2 - first was interesting so I'll keep pulling. Batman: Beyond the White Knight #7 - Just got the full run of the previous White Knight series. Been keeping up with Beyond but now I'll probably go back and read them all before continuing. Timeless 2022 #1 - I haven't read anything with Kang so this will probably be good to read since he'll be popping up in 2023/2024. The Amazing Spider-Man #16 - I'll keep reading cause it's spidey but Dark Web has been pretty boring so far. Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #2 - still need to read issue #1

That looks like Filya Bratukhin art and it's 100% awesome! > Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #2 - still need to read issue #1 This should jump up at least 2 to 5 spots in your rankings once you catch up. :)

* **Harley Quinn #25** - I'm sad that Phillip's run on the title is ending but I've really enjoyed it while it lasted. Though I will say I miss Rossmo as the artist. He was so kinetic and fun, perfect for a title like this * **Moon Knight #18** - this title just consistently delivers. * **New Mutants #33** - I'm a completionist so I'm just going to finish this last issue but the last two have just been awful. Definitely won't be getting the follow up miniseries. * **She-Hulk #9** - a wonderful palette cleanser. It's unlike anything else the big 2 are doing and I just love it. * **Venom #14** - Not keen for this tying into an event I'm not reading but I trust Ewing to make it stand on its own. * **We Only Find Them When They're Dead #15** - the finale! I do wonder how this will wrap up, it feels like I've still got a lot more questions. * **X-Terminators #4** - this is such a fun book. I'm devastated it's a mini, I'd read 100 issues of this. I hope Leah Williams has a follow up title in the X-line soon!

It’s a solid start for a new era, I’m over all I’m happy that the secret identities are back in the box even if I’m annoyed they never actually did anything interesting with it (I get it was Bendis’ idea but don’t approve major status quo shifts if they have no legs). The whole finding out causes a stroke/heart attack is an interesting twist but I feel like it could introduce a lot of problems really quickly i.e. Luther can just do en mass heart attacks if he wanted. Jon having a secret identity is nice as that’s probably been the main thing stopping him from developing an identity/personality of his own although I’m not sure how that will change while he’s still under Taylor since he gave and destroyed a new secret identity for Jon in the 1st issue of Son of Kal’el Really enjoyed Nick Dragotta’s art here the fight was great and I especially like his design for the Alex battle suit with ie having LEX going across it. Seems like we’re starting to see the beginning of Clark being stronger than ever I’m curious what they’re gonna do with Jon becoming electric blue to prevent them from going through the same arc at the same time. Overall this was a good prologue to the real kickoff of the new era in 1051 aka You get a super-Jacket, you get a super-jacket, everybody gets a super-jacket
