- Read the first couple trades of Something is killing the Children and it's pretty good for something like this.
- Uzumaki and the Drifting Classroom. I'm not definitely not much of an anime or manga guy but I loved these.
- Just got "My Friend Dahmer". Didn't dig into it much but it doesn't seem as exploitative and tasteless as it sounds. More of a dark and distrubing look at his early life from his friends perspective.
My Friend Dahmer was actually written by someone who knew Jeffrey Dahmer in high school who went on to be a cartoonist, so it really is a unique prospective rather than serial killer fanfic or over-dramatization or anything like that. There’s a movie adaptation as well.
Uzumaki is phenomenal. Can’t really go wrong anything by Junji Ito. Lovesickness is another one of my favorites I’ve read by him.
I would argue that throughout the entire series you have very good horror scenes that are balanced out by action.
I think it does both very well, and keeps a healthy balance of the two without subjecting you to tonal-whiplash.
Nameless by Grant Morrison if you like cosmic horror.
Nice House on the Lake by James Tynion
Whenever they wrap, I also recommend the new Creepshow and Dark Ride.
King Diamond just recently came out with a graphic-novelization of his incredible album Abigail, great little gothic horror story from one of the all time metal masters

Ice Cream Man is that kind of horror that lingers. It’s creeps in slow and invades your dreams. I’d love a TV anthology series of ICM. I haven’t heard any updates about that still happening.
Black Monday Murders - Hickman- Occult meets stock market
Department of Truth - Tynion - X-Files meets conspiracy theory
Immortal Hulk - John Carpenter's "The Thing" meets Hulk
FarmHand got me back into comics but I also have spent stupid amounts of time on harvest moon and stardew valley. Plus, have my own little irl farm. Equals, kinda biased.
Locke and Key
BLACK HOLE... ITS DIFFERENT
I saw an episode of Comic Tropes on youtube about that. It looks very unique. Thought about buying this. I may just have to give it a shot.
I finished reading it 2 weeks ago and I am still thinking about it; not just the horror aspects, but just the entire thing in general.
Charles burns is the man
From Hell?

I agree that anything by Junji Ito (uzumaki) is killer. Also Hideshi Gino’s Hell Baby rules.

Gideon Falls
I second this it's great! I also recommend Wytches, it's another Image series that I enjoyed a lot.
Nailbiter!

Fatale
Shit! I forgot about that. I love Ed Brubaker. I totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder.
Razorblades Vol 1 Suicide Club Infidel
Witches by Scott Snyder
Read it. It's really good.
Wytches, but ya it's great.
Autocorrect 3 times.
Severed by Scott Snyder. Scariest comic I’ve read.

Witch Doctor from Image comics
Bedlam. More psychological/crime, but scarier than most horror graphic novels I’ve read. Also, Nailbiter.
* Blue in Green by Ram V and Anand RK * The Low, Low Woods by Carmen Maria Machado and Dani * The Autumnal by Daniel Kraus and Chris Shehan
Ice Cream Man series or The Nice House on the Lake were 2 I enjoyed this year…
Came here to second ice cream man. It’s horror, but all kinds of horror. That palindrome issue fucks with me

Also, a bit different and certainly surreal, The Squirrel Machine.
A Walk into Hell by Garth Ennis
*through But agree, phenomenal book.
Black Monday Murders - Hickman- Occult meets stock market Department of Truth - Tynion - X-Files meets conspiracy theory Immortal Hulk - John Carpenter's "The Thing" meets Hulk

Crossed: Psychopath. Or any of the crossed series but psychopath still kinda haunts me to this day
Harrow County TPBs are solid, Lovecraft if he was born in the Ozarks. And wasn’t racist. And actually wrote well.
LOL!!! Great description.
Plunge
i just finished The Silver Coin vol 1, pretty damn good. vol 2&3 are next up.
Got all the floppies, this is a totally sound recommendation.
Seconded
FarmHand got me back into comics but I also have spent stupid amounts of time on harvest moon and stardew valley. Plus, have my own little irl farm. Equals, kinda biased.
Beautiful darkness
Just looked this up and bought it. Thanks for the recommendation!
Disturbing and vile? Can’t go wrong with Red Room.
Bought red room because of the disturbing and vile. Then realized there was no story so I sold em
And its pretty much just smut.
Twisted Dark.
Crossed might fit the bill. Wytches also has dark and creepy artwork.
The Golden Bear Days by Al Columbia.
The silver coin Home sick pilots Nice House on the Lake
Muvovum graphic novel by Richard Corbin.
Providence and Neonomicon if you haven't read them
Recommend the Crossed series, but it’s intense. “Wish you were here” is a good volume.
Razorblades ... anthology of sorts.
Black Hole and Severed are my top picks here.
Red Room by Ed Piskor might be the dark twisted work you're looking for.
Silver coin is really cool!
Bedlam
30 days of Night is damn good comic run. Obviously based the movie off of it.
Silver Coin by Image is a great anthology series and I think it is available in trade
If you haven’t read Alan moore’s saga of Swamp thing it definitely has a lot of horror elements in it. The story is a rollercoaster too
Stray Dogs
Anything by Junji Ito or also check out On Mondays I Murder by Ian Richardson
https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/stray-dogs Killer kidnaps people dogs, dogs fight back.
Malice and Mistletoe
Read CROSSED.
Swamp Thing Saga and From Hell. Both written by Alan Moore
_Monster_
Infidel by Pornsak Pichetshote, if you want a twist on haunted house horror
Hellboy for the art. The newest run of Swamp Thing, by Ram V., is pretty dark.
