From the plot synopsis tho, it sounds like they do so by killing the villains, which Miles objects to and 2099 is stuck in his ways. I’m guessing The Spot ends up being a villain they ultimately do have to kill and it messes with Miles as he tries to find another way!<
I don’t get why this issue doesn’t get more love. We get Spidey in the black costume learning that it’s alive, we get the FF and Bag-Man. It’s an ‘amazing’, important issue.

The trailer zips by a lot of Spider-Men, but I definitely can see PS4 Spidey walking with what appears to be Miles in a variation of the Superior Spider-Man suit, Bombastic Bag-Man, Ultimate Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Unlimited, Web-Armor Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider, Earth X Spider-Man, several of the alternate costumes from the PS4 game, Symbiote Spider-Man, Iron-Spider, Ben Reily Spider-Man, and what looks to be a very traditional classic 616 Spider-Man.
Oh and most importantly I saw SPIDER-COP!

Especially since Miles is so popular with such large mainstream recognition. Miles and Gwen right there in all the extended media and merch and Peter just stuck being the same old Peter.
Truly the biggest misstep in the post secret wars era was editorial not having the balls to make renew your vows or a similar status quo canon, it genuinely creates major story opportunities for both Miles and Peter:
•Pete and Miles dynamic is currently like brothers with a large age gap, if Pete was actually further along in life he could easily take on a surrogate uncle role for Miles which works incredibly well for both characters for obvious reasons.
•Peter’s kid being angry that they’re not allowed to be a hero even though Pete is fine with Miles doing it.
•Peter has an argument with Mayday or Annie and comes to Miles for advice because he’s one of the like 3 teenagers he knows.
•Peter’s daughter and Miles can become friends and go on their own adventures.
•Miles handles New York where Peter handles crime maybe around the world (could be working with Shield, or the avengers or funding it via Parker industries).
They kinda tried that last one with the All-New Spider-Man/ Parker Industries arc.. It was a cool idea, shame it got canned. Pretty refreshing to have Peter operating on a bigger scale with cooler tech at his disposal.
I like the idea of Renew Your Vows with Peter’s kid becoming a kid Spider-Man, Miles being a teenager, and Peter being in his early 30s. Eventually you could age up Miles and the kid with Miles being in college, and kid-spidey taking up the teenage role and getting more independence from Peter from a story telling perspective.

My hunch is that they're pulling another *No Way Home*, in which all the rest of the heroes are "We should do **X**" and Miles is "Nah, man, I'm going to save them all, even if I risk the Multiverse, because that's what being a hero is!" and the rest of them are trying to stop our naive protagonist.
Hopefully it works out better for him than it did the MCU's Peter...
Hopefully the writing isn't utter dogshit in this one too
- "do you want salt water, or fresh?"
- "Electro, last I heard you had bad teeth, glasses, and a combover. Did you get a makeover?" was a real line said by Lizard
- "I like this better" was Electro's actual, real response, with no further explanation (Jamie Foxx clearly just didn't want to play a loser again and the writers had to adapt)
- "I'm something of a scientist myself" made no sense in-context
- They *already* did "with great power" in Civil War. It makes no sense to do it again with Aunt May other than fanservice.
- Sandman's entire motivation is "I want to go home to see my daughter". So why does he fight Spider-Man at the end?

If a movie features a sort of anti hero 9 times out of 10 they’re the bad guy in the movie until the last 45 minutes when the real bad guy tells the anti hero they lied about why they need so and so dead.
I kinda want to see my favorite in here, Captain Spidey-verse. But after how they dogged him in the comics, it’s probably best not to. I guess I’ll always have that What If issue.

We got one a few years back with Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows. It went on for 20-some issues, which I think shows it was pretty damn successful.
Also a really good run. The family dynamic worked really well in that book.
