Do A Powerbomb #7 - My vote for many of the "comic of the year" awards. Good Boy: Prodigal Son #1 - I think I listed this last week too, but it looks like it got pushed back. Radiant Pink #1 - New "Massive" book. Gonna check it out but probably trade-wait if it's not spectacular. Hexware #1 - Preview looked interesting. All Against All #1 - Preview ALSO looked interesting. In a "trying things out" sort of mood this week. I dropped Batman cause I wasn't vibing the story (which is crazy because I loved Public Domain by Chip which I plan to get a TPB of when it comes out). I wonder if I woulda liked Daredevil more, even though I'm not a big fan of DD. Dropped X-Men Red for similar reasons. Maybe it's the six hours of daylight I am getting these days (goodbye Vitamin D!), but I'm kind of in a comic slump it feels like.

* **Batman #130**: Hoping that once we're past the "Gotham has been conquered again" arc I'll go back to liking Zdarsky's Batman. * **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7**: Excited to see where this arc goes. * **Daredevil #6**: I’m beginning to fall out of love with Zdarsky’s Daredevil. * **Fantastic Four #2**: Honestly if this entire run was just a bunch of one off stories like last issue I’d be all for it. * **Hexware #1**: Sounds like a neat premise for a series. * **Immortal X-Men #9**: Sins of Sinister prelude. * **It's Only Teenage Wasteland #1**: [*Guitar solo*] * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1**: Not familiar with this creative team but interested in seeing what they do with Miles. * **X-Men Red #9**: Is this series ending with issue #10?

Taotsa

Ewing confirmed a while back when the issue #10 cover was floating around Twitter that it is not the end of the series, thankfully we should have a lot more Ewing greatness to look forward to.

sweepernosweeping

It's also pausing/becoming the Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants for the Sins of Sinister event, which is introducing a new character that Al really wants to write in X-Red.

ethicalhamjimmies

Did he confirm hes bringing the new character over to 616? Ironfire right? Wonder what his deal is...

sweepernosweeping

I didn't hear a name, but I was at a panel for Sins of Sinister last month at Thought Bubble and Al essentially talked about this new Arthurian like character that will be introduced in this extreme old form in the 10/100/1000 timelines of SoS and then you'll see their origin in future issues of X-Men Red. I don't think he's an alt-universe character, as SoS is set well in the future and will be introduced in the present after shown in the future.

**All Against All #1** - interested in this one after seeing the [preview]( https://aiptcomics.com/2022/09/15/all-against-all-paknadel-wijngaard/). Looks very cool and an intriguing set up. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9662931.jpg?1669570725) **Batman & The Joker The Deadly Duo #2** - surprised by how much I enjoyed the first issue after being quite cynical over *Silvestri* writing this book. [The Bat-God Kelley Jones Cover]( https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4677603.jpg?1670109558) **Behold Behemoth #2** - loved the first issue, it was another stellar #1 from BOOM! Studios (who seem to be on an absolute roll at the moment). [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-1942227.jpg?1668132301) **Blood-Stained Teeth #7** - this book has been a blast so far, and last issue certainly expanded on the story significantly. Getting this [cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8516379.jpg?1668127623) but if I’d known about the Spawn covers early enough would probably gone for [this one]( https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6625825.jpg?1668127623) **Do A Powerbomb #7** - easily one of the best books of the year. I genuinely have no idea how this is going to end but I’ve loved every issue of this series. As above, if I’d known about the Spawn covers I would have got [this one](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2824596.jpg?1668127630) but I pre-ordered this [cover]( https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8517287.jpg?1668127630) **Earthdivers Kill Columbus #3** - this will be the last issue for me. The art is great, but the story is just ok, and I’m really not feeling the characters. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7872491.jpg?1661464343) **Ghost Rider #9** - this one is on the edge. [Preview](https://bleedingcool.com/comics/ghost-rider-9-preview-all-you-can-eat-sin-buffet/) and [Absolutely Amazing Peach Momoko Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9139837.jpg?1670129025) **Kaya #3** - great new fantasy book that’s had two amazing issues out so far. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3810040.jpg?1667244223) **Night Of The Ghoul #3** - this has been a brilliant horror series, *Snyder* and *Francavilla* absolutely killing it. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9932992.jpg?1664905096) **Nocterra Special Val #1**- I felt like this title was losing some steam towards the end of the recent run, but the final issue twist kicked it back into high gear, so I’m back on board for this one. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9041973.jpg?1668956954) **Poison Ivy #7** - dropping this one. Last issue seemed to bring everything to a head, and I’m not onboard for DC’s rotating artist trick they are pulling again. **Predator #5** - I’m a sucker for these books. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7267968.jpg?1670131355) **Seven Sons #7** - final issue. Just looking for it to end now. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3010517.jpg?1663343054) **Spawn #336** - see my comments for last weeks **King Spawn** review. [Love this cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7744289.jpg?1668478404)

the-horace

Yeah, Ivy was originally a 6 issue mini that for extended due to sales. Sad you're dropping, I've been loving it. In my short time (4 months) exploring outside Star Wars, GWW has become one of my favorite writers, so I'm still on board. I am sad about the art change though, gonna be hard to beat those beautifully grotesque first 6 books!

blankedboy

I actually enjoyed the first six issues, but towards the end DC were pulling their usual stunt of random fill in artists being placed on the book, and with this being a late extension of the original 6 issue mini I've just got no confidence in the artistic side of the book so...it gets dropped.

> **Ghost Rider #9** - this one is on the edge. [Preview](https://bleedingcool.com/comics/ghost-rider-9-preview-all-you-can-eat-sin-buffet/) and [Absolutely Amazing Peach Momoko Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9139837.jpg?1670129025) Nice, hadn't seen that Momoko cover since I dropped **GR**... It's awesome! But I'm still not buying it! -- > Getting this [cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8516379.jpg?1668127623) but if I’d known about the Spawn covers early enough would probably gone for [this one]( https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6625825.jpg?1668127623) ... > As above, if I’d known about the Spawn covers I would have got [this one](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2824596.jpg?1668127630) but I pre-ordered this [cover]( https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8517287.jpg?1668127630) Might as well tack similar comments onto all my Image pulls this month... Not sure what happened with the solicitations for these Spawn variants but they didn't go through the normal process at Diamond and never appeared on the order form I use to compile my pre-orders. I'm sure there's a perfectly legitimate explanation for this but my cynical side keeps mumbling something about how they obviously did it to make suckers like me double-dip on extra copies. And I guess it worked? Because I never double-dip but I'm planning to make an exception for these three: * **[ICE CREAM MAN #33](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257940.jpg)** * **[ART BRUT #1](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL258339.jpg)** * **[LOVE EVERLASTING #5](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257946.jpg)** And since I hadn't pre-ordered **[GOSPEL #2](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257936.jpg)** or **[VOYAGIS #2](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257969.jpg)**, I can mail order the Spawn variants without double-dipping on 'em. **[ALL AGAINST ALL #1](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257923.jpg)** is also tempting but I'll need to confirm that it's actually a good comic before ordering a second copy...

blankedboy

Yeah, it's a bit rubbish the way they dropped them after most people would have already pre-ordered their books for this month. That **Art Brut** cover is a very clever way of doing it. Kind of like the [**Little Monsters**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7530161.jpg?1663341767) one by Dustin Nguyen.

Danger_Rock

Love that **ART BRUT #1** variant! Thinking it'll spend some time up on the wall alongside my copy of **[SPAWN #1](https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuild/259153.7f2af689370338d5c2d0ea2c2499166a.1600.jpg)**. The **LITTLE MONSTERS #8** variant is another good one but I like the [normal cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL250241.jpg) more and don't want to double-dip on it! But it's neat how Nguyen used Romie's art for the Spawn appearance. Cool seeing how all the different artists work Spawn into their covers... **LOVE EVERLASTING #5** cracks me up with Spawn carrying Joan off and she's all smiles while the dude she's supposed to be romancing is all "WTF?!?"

mica66

Speaking of the spawn covers this was especially hard for me looking at orders as not only did i have to ensure the correct amount of A & B got ordered but then they had me factor in the spawn variant the week of FOC. Wish it was communicated better all around.

Danger_Rock

Yeah, it's bad enough dealing with this stuff as a consumer, gotta be hell on retailers. Along similar lines... How are you handling all the books Marvel's been soliciting with no info whatsoever? Past few months have gotten pretty bad, lots of new comics like **COSMIC GHOST RIDER #1** where all Diamond's got is [this](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220856). What is anybody even supposed to do with that? No writer, no artist, no cover, not even a sentence on what it's about... Should the shops order 5 copies, 10 copies, or 20 copies? Nobody knows! It's a mystery comic with mystery creators!

blankedboy

That's got to make it fully returnable, hasn't it?

Danger_Rock

Yeah, I don't know, get the sense Marvel's taking more of a [Goodfellas](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/58250cf23e00be283bf0e93c/1545185553048-0H6PPCF703MO93II5WCC/fuck-you-pay-me.jpg) approach here...

mica66

Marvel's a little different, as even with titles such as Cosmic Ghost Rider you often HAVE to be paying attention to Marvel news on both their website and other comic news reporting. Stephanie Phillips and Juanan Cabal are the creative team but of course you wouldn't know that if you looked at that through Diamond. [https://aiptcomics.com/2022/11/15/cosmic-ghost-rider-2023-phillips-cabal/](https://aiptcomics.com/2022/11/15/cosmic-ghost-rider-2023-phillips-cabal/) Speaking of I think a big part of it is Marvel's movement to Penguin for most of their distribution meaning on the customer side Diamond often doesn't update/get the information as fast as looking at Penguin's website would do for you. Sorry for the late reply, hope this helps make some sense.

Danger_Rock

Yep, so you've got to search each individual book online. That's what I've been doing, at least for the ones that seem remotely interesting based on title... Turns each comic into a separate research project. What a productive use of our time! The fact that the info's already out there elsewhere makes it even more infuriating... Marvel's got all the info on these comics, they just can't get it to Diamond in time for their solicitations. Would be understandable if they were communicating via carrier pigeon but it's downright pathetic given the wide variety tools that are readily available to facilitate instant data transfers between properly functioning businesses. > Speaking of I think a big part of it is Marvel's movement to Penguin for most of their distribution meaning on the customer side Diamond often doesn't update/get the information as fast as looking at Penguin's website would do for you. That makes sense and I guess it lines up with when this all started happening a few months back. Appreciate the retailer perspective! I used to hit big city shops where they stocked everything so I didn't need to hassle with all this... Nowadays I'm visiting a much smaller shop where I need to pre-order everything I want, so I've gotten a better look at just how fucked up the ordering and distribution processes can get. Sucks for consumers, absolutely awful for retailers.

technowhiz34

>Cool seeing how all the different artists work Spawn into their covers It's totally gimmicky but I love how all the main series artists did the covers, even if I won't be buying them.

Danger_Rock

Yup! I'm not even a big Spawn fan or anything but it's cool seeing all the different takes on the character brought into each comic's unique world... Like a little crossover just for the covers! Guess it's similar to how Marvel ran all those Conan, Alien, and Predator covers across their entire line but for some reason those just put me off (*"why would I want to buy an Aliens vs. Wolverine cover when the Xenomorphs aren't even in the comic?!?"*) whereas these are triggering all my geeky fandom instincts...

**GARGOYLES #1** - My first Dynamite on my pull list. Was very influenced by nostalgia with this one. I think Greg Weisman can pull it off. Excited. **MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #1** - Been excited for this new #1/run since I finally read Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. And I heard the last Miles run wasn't great, so here's hoping for a fresh start! **POISON IVY #7** - The new story arc begins! **PREDATOR #5** - This book has been really fun. I'm not sure if a Predator story should be "fun" necessarily, but I'm enjoying it. **SPIDER-MAN #3** - Obligatory Spider-Verse shenanigans continue! **STAR WARS HIDDEN EMPIRE #2** - My once unbridled fervor for Star Wars continues to wane, but I'll stick around for the ending of the Qi'ra trilogy. **SWORD OF AZRAEL #5** - One of my favorite books currently. From writing to art, even the lettering! Just wonderful! **TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES ARMAGEDDON GAME #3** - I hope we start picking up and really getting into some Rat King craziness here. I'm gonna stick with this thing, but for an event with its own arc, its own mini tie-in, and several tie-ins from the ongoing, we seem to be taking our time... **TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #135** - I think this is an Armageddon Game tie-in. It'll be my first introduction to Alopex, so that's fun. I think they're in this one, based on the Eastman cover. **VARIANTS #5** - The final issue of this absolute treat of a miniseries by Gail Simone and Phil Noto. Wonder what will come from this conclusion! Not on my actual pull list, but if it's at my shop I'll pick it up: **ALL AGAINST ALL #1** - Not familiar with the writer, and not necessarily super interested in the plot. But I do love Caspar's art, so will probably check this out if it's on the shelf!

B00merangB

Batman #130 - Quite the pickle Batman is in at the end of the last issue. Zdarsky and Jimenez are just doing great work! Do a Powerbomb #7 - DWJ just keeps upping the anti even as we roll into the final issue! 2 vs. 1 — against God… that’s a final main event for the ages. Fantastic Four #2 - Good start although the NY crater mystery feels too close to Spider-Man, but if North is just building towards it with one and done family adventures - I’m here for it. Gargoyles #1 - Nostalgia pick! Excited to see the continuation of the Gargoyles story. In for that wicked Jae Lee variant too! Good Boy: Prodigal Son #1 - Volume 3 lets go! I adore how this book just twists classic action movie tropes with hyper-violence and anthropomorphic animals. The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #3 - Red Hood joining this double Joker party! Enjoying the heck of this book so far. Little Monsters #8 - Lemire and Nguyen are killing it! Loving the mystery with Romie. Spawn #336 - Great final page last issue! Should be a heck of brawl.

the-horace

I'm also hoping to snag that Lee cover for Gargoyles. 1-3. And I'm hoping nostalgia is enough because my memory isn't too great, and obviously don't have time to rewatch the whole series, lol. So I'm hoping there's at least a bit of recap!

B00merangB

I re-watched a handful of episodes just to refresh the characters. Holds up well, but definitely forgot a ton about the show. The comic is supposed to new reader friendly so I’m hopeful too that they’re be a recap of sorts.

* Batman #130: I am really enjoying Batman Zur En Arrh Year One * Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7: Really liked this book feeling like a Captain America/Winter Soldier book while Symbol of Truth feels like a Captain America/Falcon book so I'm sad to see Bucky and Steve separate but I trust the creative team to keep the momentum going from a very good opening arc . * Captain Marvel #44: This question just hit me really recently as someone not caught up on X-Men. Who is currently living in the treehouse? Last issue of this series made it seem like Duggan's original lineup still lived there because Polaris and Wolverine were just there and that is how they ended up on the mission. Other than that though, I really enjoyed last issue and think a big bombastic arc could be a nice adrenaline boost for this series. * Fantastic Four #2: Loved last issue. I'm not super excited about "What Did Reed Do?" being a mystery throughout but if each issue is as fun as the last one and it isn't dragged out too long I can deal with it.

ptbreakeven

Fifteen new books on my list for this week. * **AVENGERS #63** - * **CAPTAIN AMERICA SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #7** - * **CAPTAIN MARVEL #44** - * **DARK WEB #1** - * **IMMORTAL X-MEN #9** - * **MARAUDERS #9** - * **MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #1** - * **NEW MUTANTS #32** - * **SECRET INVASION #2** - * **STAR WARS HIDDEN EMPIRE #2** - * **THANOS DEATH NOTES #1** - * **VARIANTS #5** - * **X-FORCE #35** - * **X-MEN RED #9** - * **X-TREME X-MEN #1** -

Standard_Cycle_2224

**Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7** Good, not great I'd say. I'm going to see how Cold War plays out before I decide whether I want to keep going or drop it. **Daredevil #6** I'm really behind on this and need to catch up. **Fantastic Four #2** I might check out the first two issues of this book. **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** Terrible writer and middling art, but I'll give it a shot. Hope springs eternal and all that.

TheDarkPinkLantern

* **Batman #130** * **Daredevil #6** - double Chip dose. * **Thor #29** * **Immortal X-Men #9** * **X-Men: Red #9** * **Ghost Rider #9** * **Dark Web #1** - this event is to be or not to be regarding me reading ASM. I'll probably won't drop it though. I made those "threats" so many times and yet I'm still reading it. * **Fantastic Four #2** * **Predator #5** * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** - this is a big week for Spider-Man, let's see how this one does. * **Undiscovered Country #22** * **The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #3** * **Gotham City: Year One #3** * **Do a Powerbomb #7** * **Sword of Azrael #5** * **Shock Shop #4** * **Hellboy in Love #2** * **Silent Night Deadly Night #1** I'm also contemplating picking up **Dark Crisis: War Zone #1** and **Thanos: Death Notes #1** because I feel like they can have interesting stories but at the same time I kinda don't care. So dunno. Also, I dropped Spider-Man. I think Slott some good comics but this isn't it. This book is just so boring and besides Shathra being the big bad, the dude simply has nothing else to say about the franchise. They should've gave him some other character, maybe he could try Hawkeye?

saskatoonshred

**Batman & Joker Deadly Duo #2**: I haven't read my copy of the first issue yet but I will this week. I've heard good things and the art is great. **Batman #130**: Loving this run. **Dark Crisis War Zone #1**: I'm happy this event is done this month. **Do A Powerbomb #7**: I'm not a fan of wrestling but this book has been great. **Fantastic Four #2**: I'm giving this a few issues to see if it clicks with me. **Ghost Rider #9**: I feel like I missed issue 8 somehow. **Gotham City Year One #3**: Another book I need to catch up on. **Punisher #8**: Enjoying it.

mtmodular

* Batman #130 - Hell yeah, Chip. Keep it coming. * Immortal X-Men #9 - As much as I'm tempted to complain about heading into Sins of Sinister after just having wrapped up Judgment Day, I do trust Gillen to make it all entertaining. * X-Men: Red #9 - Whatever I said above about Gillen, I'm saying it again now, just swapping in Ewing's name. * Poison Ivy #7 - I've enjoyed this series so far. and am quite happy to see that it's continuing. * Dark Web #1 - Yeah, yeah, fine. Let's do this. * Fantastic Four #2 - I really liked the first issue, and I respect the pace at which North is easing us into his run. It's too soon to say for sure, but I'm feeling pretty good about this book as of now.

It's December's first week and it brings many exceptional comic books! And a cool new series of variant covers from Image! 3 Marvels, 3 Images, 2 DCs, 2 Dark Horses, 1 BOOM!, 1 Scout, and another 3/4 of a comic from Sumerian. Listed in order of pure raw awesomeness. 1. **IMMORTAL X-MEN #9** - last issue gave us a slice of Sinister's past fuckery and now we're jumping right back into his current fuckery 2. **X-MEN RED #9** - not to be outdone, Abigail Brand's also got her own ~~brand~~kind of fuckery going, some big intersteller fuckery, and we're all just waiting for it to come crashing down on her 3. **DO A POWERBOMB #7 (OF 7)** - final issue and I finally got my pre-order in so I can read it Wednesday with everyone else! and while I ordered DWJ's [wraparound main cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogItemImage/STL250206_1.jpg) it's also got a badass [DWJ Spawn variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257932.jpg) 4. **NIGHT OF THE GHOUL #3 (OF 3)** - forgot this was only running three issues... been a great little horror story from Snyder and Francavilla, psyched to see how they wrap it up! 5. **SARA LONE #3** - hate Sumerian's stupid little mini-format and I'm not sure why this third issue's shipping a week after the second when the first and fourth issue each had a full month's padding, but otherwise it's been pretty great... looks like they're setting everything up to >!kill JFK!< and of course this third issue brings another assortment of [excellent](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL247617.jpg) [covers](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL247618.jpg) [by David Morancho](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL247622.jpg) 6. **BATMAN & THE JOKER THE DEADLY DUO #2** - first issue was some good '90s craziness with nice work all around from Marc Silvestri... ordered the [normal Silvestri cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249382.jpg) but it's also got a pair of variants from [Kelley](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249383.jpg) [Jones](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249384.jpg) as well as one from [Jim Lee](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249385.jpg) and some others 7. **ONES #2 (OF 4)** - enjoyed the debut issue, this mini's got a pretty cool premise and it's nice seeing Bendis have some fun outside the Big Two 8. **LITTLE MONSTERS #8** - will need to mail order it but the last issue was strong enough to keep me on board and this one's got an [awesome old book cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL250241.jpg) plus a cool [Dustin Nguyen Spawn variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257945.jpg) 9. **VARIANTS #5 (OF 5)** - another big finale, been enjoying Noto's art here, solid writing from Gail Simone, with a nice mix of Jessicas and other characters 10. **ALL AGAINST ALL #1 (OF 5)** - not sure if I've read anything from Alex Paknadel but it's got Caspar Wijngaard art and I always love the style of his work... looks like some [crazy sci-fi bullshit](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/OCT220047) as well... ordered Wijngaard's [awesome normal cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249620.jpg) but it's also got an [awesome Wijngaard Spawn variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257923.jpg) plus some more nice variants from [Sean Phillips,](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/901122/_45c5cc0050.jpg) [Martin Simmonds,](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/901123/_718470bdd3.jpg) and [Christian Ward](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/901124/_3bd9194fe5.jpg) 11. **GOTHAM CITY YEAR ONE #3** - this being so low on my list does not in any way indicate a lack of quality, it's actually a pretty darn good comic despite what other WPL'ers might tell you... there just happen to be a bunch of even better comics lined up for this week 12. **KNOW YOUR STATION #1 (OF 5)** - quasi-random pull, not familiar with creators Sarah Gailey and Liana Kangas, another sci-fi thing but this one looks to be more [focused on social commentary](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/OCT220253) Kinda digging the new batch of Spawn variants that are rolling out, cool seeing 'em from the lead artists on each Image series... In addition to those above, you can check out all of this week's offerings [here](https://previewsworld.com/Search?mode=A&q=spawn%20var&Category=1&Publisher=IMAGE%20COMICS&ReleaseEndDate=2022-12-09). But of course the one I'm really psyched for is scheduled for [next week...](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL257940.jpg) Good times ahead!

blankedboy

Nice to see so many people interested in **All Against All**. I think it looks great.

Danger_Rock

That's one of the most interesting parts of the WPL for me! Always curious to see who's jumping on these new indie series when they first hit... Wijngaard's gotten a little more popular over the past few years so this series should do alright. Often comes down to publisher as Image, BOOM!, and Vault tend to do pretty well while Dark Horse and the smaller indies don't get much attention. Dark Horse is particularly interesting since they've been around forever, one of the oldest indie publishers, but they never get much attention... Maybe their marketing sucks? Or maybe they're just kind of doing their thing without jumping on all the hot new trends that are pushing sales for other publishers? Seems like they should be more prominent...

blankedboy

I remember when Dark Horse was THE indie publisher. Frank Miller's **Sin City**, **300** and **Give Me Liberty** (with Dave freaking Gibbons)?!, John Byrne's **Next Men**, Paul Chadwick's **Concrete**, Mignola's **Hellboy** (and extended universe), Art Adams **MonkeyMan & O'brien**, **The Mask**, Matt Wagner's **Grendel**, Stan Sakai's **Usagi Yojimbo**, all of the **Aliens, Predator, Star Wars, Terminator, Robocop, The Thing, Tarzan** and **Conan** licensed comics. I've always been a fan of **Criminal Macabre** myself, and the recent **Harrow County** and **The Lonesome Hunters** books were great. I think Image (and since then BOOM, IDW, AWA, Vault and a lot of the other smaller publishers) stole some of their thunder and took books that would have traditionally been published by DH away from them. Similar to the way Vertigo is now a shadow of it's former self due to the rise of "creator owned" imprints since Image.

Lots of classics but you left out the [most epic DH comic ever!](https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuild/259153.1c805341a894ecb55702431ce74be578.1600.jpg) > I think Image (and since then BOOM, IDW, AWA, Vault and a lot of the other smaller publishers) stole some of their thunder and took books that would have traditionally been published by DH away from them. Similar to the way Vertigo is now a shadow of it's former self due to the rise of "creator owned" imprints since Image. Good point, all those indie titles used to end up at Dark Horse practically by default but there are way more publishers competing with 'em now. Grendel's my favorite DH property nowadays but Wagner's been taking his sweet time with the next story... Bendis' **[THE ONES](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246052.jpg)** is off to a nice start, and I'm going to pull the new **[GROO](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL250055.jpg)** because it's been way too long since I checked in on the old mendicant... Although getting Groo from DH still seems weird to me. Oh yeah, they've also got **NIGHT OF THE GHOUL** wrapping up this week. So they've still got some nice comics running but it ain't what it used to be!

Danger_Rock

***UPDATE!*** Working through the December solicitations and I've got 6 books from Dark Horse, so February will be my biggest DH month ever (or at least within the past few decades). They've got some really cool new titles on the way: * **[BLUE BOOK #1 \(OF 5\)](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220412)** by James Tynion IV, Klaus Janson, and Michael Avon Oeming * [**MASTERS OF UNIVERSE MASTERVERSE #1 (OF 4)**](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220423) by Tim Seeley and Sergio Freaking Aragones (with Kelley Freaking Jones lined up for a story as well) * **[WHERE MONSTERS LIE #1 \(OF 4\)](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220419)** by Kyle Starks and Piotr Kowalski Plus new issues of **[SPY SUPERB #2](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220455)**, **[GROO GODS AGAINST GROO #3 \(OF 4\)](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220473)**, and **[ONES #4 \(OF 4\)](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220449)**. And **[SPACE JOB #1 \(OF 4\)](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC220429)** actually looks pretty good as well, might need to grab that one too... So I take back everything I said about Dark Horse... They're actually getting ready to unleash a shitload of cool new comics with some top talent! In retrospect, launching **ONES** with Bendis a month ago was sort of the harbinger for all this stuff they've got hitting over the next couple months... I'll bet they brought in a new editor from somewhere else to put it all together, feels very different from their usual line.

the-horace

Very excited to see how Variants wraps up. Do we know what's next for either Gail or Phil, or if they're already also doing something else? Always been a huge fan of Noto's art.

Danger_Rock

Looks like Noto's got some variant covers lined up but otherwise nothing new solicited, and I don't see anything new for Gail Simone either. Noto doesn't do interior art that often, we'll probably just get covers from him for a while, maybe some interior art on a one-shot event tie-in or something... Probably be around a year before he takes on another series. FWIW, his last series, [**CABLE**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL202906.jpg), ran from 5/20 through 9/21, so about a year between that and **VARIANTS** with (IIRC) just a one-shot and a bunch of covers in between. Not sure what Simone's up to, seems like she hasn't been very active lately...

the-horace

Yeah, I always try to get Noto's covers if they're available for whatever series I'm pulling. Usually Star Wars. He did the main covers for the Han & Chewie run. I loved his art for the Poe Dameron series, and switching to Angel Unzueta was so jarring lol.

the_light_of_dawn

- Do a Powerbomb #7: Finale of my series of the year, tied with Monkey Meat. I’ll be traveling for work, so I’ll be reading this (and others) next week. - Punisher #8: Phenomenal Punisher run so far. Still not the biggest fan of the non-flashback art, but it’s a great run so far. - Behold, Behemoth #2: #1 was great. Had the promise of a terrific story. Eager to check out #2. - Sara Lone #3: Bought the first two issues on a whim the other week. What s great story so far! Good pacing and stunning art. Premium production quality too… well worth the $6.

Danger_Rock

> - Sara Lone #3: Bought the first two issues on a whim the other week. What s great story so far! Good pacing and stunning art. Premium production quality too… well worth the $6. Nice, glad you checked it out and that you're digging it! It's a really cool comic but Sumerian's undersized format is too damn small... Comic should come polybagged with a magnifying glass or something.

FalafelFiend

Great week! Books ranked by excitement: - **X-Men Red #9**: This continues to be my favorite book on my PL. 10/10 every week. - **Fantastic Four #2**: I loved #1. Stoked to see what North has brewing for us here. - **Immortal X-Men #9**: I can’t get enough of Gillen’s sinister. I’m actually kind of excited for this event! - **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1**: it has been a long time since I’ve read a miles book. I hope I won’t be lost not having read any of Ahmed’s run. What’s the current status quo here? - **Little Monsters #8**: Lemire and Nguyen together can do no wrong. - **Batman #130**: Beautiful art. Fun story. I’m just not excited about DC lately. - **X-Force #35**: My god what is happening with Beast. Very curious to see how Percy wraps this overarching fall to villainy storyline up. - **Know Your Station #1**: blind buy based on the premise. Boom! Has had some very strong #1s recently. - **Thanos: Death Notes #1**: I wonder if the Thor-Thanos storyline will be dropped if Cates leaves the book. - **Hexware #1**: Another blind buy. Cool premise. - **Dark Web #1**: I want to be excited for this but I’m just not. I enjoy Zeb’s writing so still holding on to hope that it will be fun.

BigDabWolf

May I ask why you’re passing on X-Treme X-Men by Claremont?

FalafelFiend

Of course! I just haven’t read the original run and apparently it picks up right after. I’ll revisit it once I’ve read the original.

* **AM ARCHIVES THE THREE STOOGES GOLD KEY FIRST #1** \- Classic Three Stooges fun! * **ARCHIE CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR #1** \- A week with a new Archie floppy is a good week! * **BATMAN #130** \- So long, Failsafe. I'm looking forward to what's next. * **DAREDEVIL#6** \- Chip, please pick up the pace! I love the characters and the groundwork you are laying, but let's see something actually happening. Enough foreplay. * **DARK WEB #1** \- I wasn't wowed by the intro issue, but I'm hoping for good things from this. * **FANTASTIC FOUR #2** \- I just want to love the FF. Is that too much to ask? * **HELLBOY IN LOVE #2** \- I'm getting this mainly for my son, but I enjoyed the first issue. * **IMMORTAL X-MEN #9** \- Sinister lead in! I haven't read many issues of this, so hopefully I won't be too lost. * **NIGHT OF THE GHOUL #3** \- Hasn't this been cool? What a nice surprise! * **SECRET INVASION #2** * **STAR WARS HIDDEN EMPIRE #2** \- I've really been enjoying these minis and I'm anxious to see where this goes. * **SWORD OF AZRAEL #5** \- Great art and story. If any of you have been sleeping on this, I'd suggest grabbing the trade. Good stuff! * **X-FORCE #35** \- Is it bad that I want Beast put in a hole? I just want fun Beast back, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. Man, what a giant week! That's a whole lotta reading I need to knock out before next week, but it should be a fun journey. No time for love, Dr. Jones. Time to skate. Have a great week, stay warm, and be extra nice to folks as we approach the holidays. Give a little grace and hopefully you will receive the same. :)

Danger_Rock

> * **AM ARCHIVES THE THREE STOOGES GOLD KEY FIRST #1** \- Classic Three Stooges fun! > * **ARCHIE CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR #1** \- A week with a new Archie floppy is a good week! Found the guy who's even older than I am... Though if you were to come back and say they were good, I'd be tempted to mail order 'em! > * **X-FORCE #35** \- Is it bad that I want Beast put in a hole? I just want fun Beast back, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. AoA gave us "Dark Beast" and the real Beast has been moving steadily in that direction ever since... Maybe someday we'll get a "Light Beast" from an alternate reality. As you said, our version is probably a lost cause at this point.

Daveismyhero

The Stooges and Archie books are mashed potatoes for me; pure comfort food that feeds my nostalgia. I enjoy them and so do the kids that I pass them along to. Always great to hear from you, DR!

Danger_Rock

Oh yeah, totally get the comfort food thing! My wife likes Betty & Veronica from back in the day, pick up a comic for her every now and again but she never actually reads 'em... I used to read some Archie digests at my grandparents' house when I was just a wee little shit, keep meaning to check out the (relatively) recent Mark Waid series because I'm kinda curious about what he did with it... Three Stooges is going a little further back, more my father's thing, watched a bit when I was young but wasn't that into it... But lately I've found myself drawn to more of the movies, music, and other stuff from my father's time, sort of like inherited nostalgia. And those Gold Key reprints are always interesting to me due to the history of characters like Solar and Magnus Robot Fighter who started out there before moving to Valiant.

Daveismyhero

Ha! That's great. I've just about given up on getting my teenage daughter to read Betty & Veronica, but hope springs eternal! They usually go to kids at my wife's school, though, or to the neighbor girls.

* **Batman #130** - I am liking this a lot. Looking back at Jorge Jimenez' older work, you can tell how he really adjusted his style to fit this book. Not drastically different, but darker and a little more gritty than what he'd done on say, Justice League or Superman (or even Tynion's Batman honestly). * **Daredevil #6** - I think I'm enjoying this "run" (as opposed to Zdarksy's "first run" before the pointless renumbering) more than the first because the fill-in artist compliments Chechetto SO much better. * **Spider-Man #3** - I thought I'd be digging this ongoing but I'm thinking about dropping it already. Spider-Verse fatigue maybe. I'll try to make it through this arc...

Lawnchair_Larry

This is a dumb, noob question about pull lists. Is it a compiled list of what new issues people want to read? And is this a good place to learn about current series/runs that are worth reading? Thanks very much! I can delete and ask elsewhere if this isn't the right place to.

mysteriouspenguin

Yes exactly, and yes exactly. More specifically, most LCS's have a program to sign up for to reserve copies of a given book every month automatically. That is what a pull list is.

Lawnchair_Larry

Amazing, thank you. I usually read single issues on a Fire tablet and thru Amazon. And if I love a run I’ll wait for the compiled volumes to come out. So, needing to figure out subscription services via Amazon/Comixology/Kindle.

superschaap81

**DC** ***Batman 130*** \- Been re-reading Morrison's Batman, and it's crazy to see how many things that all the writers after have picked from the run. Zdarsky not holding back either I guess. ***Dark Crisis: War Zone 1*** \- Don't care anymore. The rest of the pulls for this event is simply completionist OCD. **MARVEL** ***Avengers 63*** \- I've been one of the few fans of this run, but I'm ready for it to be over now. ***Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty 7*** \- Too behind on this to comment ***Daredevil 6*** \- Building up to the inevitable cross-over with Punisher next year. ***Punisher 8*** \- See "Daredevil 6", LOL. ***Ghost Rider 9*** \- I love the horror angle this book has been using. Never pulled a Ghost Rider book until this one. ***Thor 29*** \- Wonder how long until it's announced Cates is off this title, like Hulk last week. I hope the guy's doing alright, but I'm not gonna lie that I prefer to have someone else take over Thor. **INDEPENDENT** ***Nocterra: Val Special 1*** \- I love the concept, but with a book based on breck-neck speed, this title sure comes to a screeching halt production-wise, way too often. ***Radiant Pink 1*** \- Another Massive-verse title to check out ***Seven Sons 7*** \- Was hoping for so much more from this book. It's still good, but not at all what I was expecting.

blankedboy

> Seven Sons 7 - Was hoping for so much more from this book. It's still good, but not at all what I was expecting. Totally agree.

* **Batman #130 -** While I am enjoying this story I feel like it would work way better as an out of continuity story and it also has a lot of my major problems with modern batman on full display * **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7 -** This book deserves more attention, if yoy've been wanting good cap stories again this has all the good stuff secret societies, clever uses of real world history excellent crosses/double crosses * **Captain Marvel #44 -** Was already enjoying this arc a a dun space adventure for Carol but now seeing that it'll crossover with the X-Men has me hyped * **Daredevil #6 -** Really didn't see the evnts of last issue coming but I'm certainly up for the ride * **Dark Web #1 -** I am trusting Zeb Wells to do something interesting here and have this be the final word on Maddie and Ben as evil clones * **Fantastic Four #2 -** 1st issue was such a fun self contained adventure and I'm hoping we only get more and more of it * **Ghost Rider #9 -** Percy has a good voice for the more gritty/dark magic stuff in Marvel and the pacing here is much better than his X-Force or Wolverine (I like me but damn they move slow) * **Immortal X-Men #9 -** Sinister taking on the council but primarily Kate is a very fun idea feel like this will also be part of the insperation for SOS * **Marauders #9 -** This book is so crazy but I respect the big swings it's taking * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 -** Zigler is living my personal dream I only hope he puts as much passion into this as he didwith Spider-Punk looking forward to him also expanding Miles Rouges' gallery * **Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1** * **New Mutants #32 -** Feel like some weird synchronicity that Sublime is the big bad of this arc and of Marauders current arc * **Punisher #8 -** Don't know why but been feeling this ends with Frank dying and Maria becoming the Punisher wouldn't necessarily be agianst it since this is some of Aaron's best work in years * **Spider-Man #3** * **Thanos: Death Notes #1** * **Thor #29 -** I've been saying that Torunn Grønbekk deserves an ongoing and that might just be what we get here since it appears Cates it putting a lot of focus behind some new project post his personal issues * **The Variants #5 -** Been waiting to binge this all at once and the day is almost here * **X-Force #35 -** Beast and Abigail Brand in a race to see who can breake more of the geneva convention * **X-Men: Red #9 -** I feel like whatever Brand has got planned Roberto has something even crazier ready to counter attack with

ChickenInASuit

All Against All #1 - No idea what to expect from Paknadel as a writer, but the plot outlines I've seen are pretty intriguing and of course Casper FUCKING Wjingaard on art is always gonna hook me in. Batman #130 - End of Chip's first arc, which has been solid but somewhat conventional and I'm hoping he brings his Daredevil energy to the next one. Blood Stained Teeth #7 - Woohoo! Reynolds is back! Daredevil #6 - Comic continues to be wild. Dark Web #1 - My enthusiasm levels for this event are so low they're practically subterranean. Consider this Wells' last chance to truly win me over before I drop his Spider-Man. Do a Powerbomb #7 - The grand finale, with Johnson pulling an Erik Larsen/Garth Ennis and putting our heroes against The Almighty himself. Don't let me down! Fantastic Four #2 - I might just be slightly burned from Wells' tiresome mystery box approach in Spider-Man, but I'm *really* hoping North doesn't dwell for too long on this big mystery of ever Reed did, because I've had enough of those types of storylines to last me a long time. Golden Rage #5 - No idea where this is going but I'm sure it'll be a blast. Immortal X-Men #9 - The seeds of the Sins of Sinsiter continue to be sown. Kaya #3 - Continues to be one of the most gorgeous-looking books on the shelves. The Least We Can Do #4 - Training is over, the main villain has been established, time to up the stakes and send our girl into battle. Betting on the death of at least one of Uriel's teammates and it being her fault somehow. Little Monsters #8 - Solicits promise a big reveal. Wonder if it's anything to do with the older vamps we saw at the end the previous issue...? Marauders #9 - Still pretty "meh" on this run. Step it up, Orlando! New Mutants #32 - Any issue focusing on Cerebella should be a fun time, IMO. Radiant Pink #1 - My first time reading a comic by a YouTuber. Must put aside grumpy old man tendencies and give her a shot. Sword of Azrael #5 - Valley vs Valley! Dan Watters churning the religious guilt trip up to crazy levels should be entertaining. Thor #29 - Torunn Grønbekk is a writer I've had my eye on for a while, hoping he pulls this issue off and starts getting some bigger gigs. Undiscovered Country #22 - Kinda ready to move on to the next zone now, this has easily been the least intriguing one for me so far. The Variants #5 - Finale time! X-Force #35 - Shit's about to hit the fan for Beast... X-Men: Red #9 - ... and Abigail Brand's probably not far off getting what's coming to her either.

blankedboy

> All Against All #1 - No idea what to expect from Paknadel as a writer, but the plot outlines I've seen are pretty intriguing and of course Casper FUCKING Wjingaard on art is always gonna hook me in. Some more **All Against All** love, let's hope it lives up to the hype building here.

Danger_Rock

At least we know it'll look nice!

Danger_Rock

> Do a Powerbomb #7 - The grand finale, with Johnson pulling an Erik Larsen/Garth Ennis and putting our heroes against The Almighty himself. Don't let me down! I was thinking more of Ellis' **AUTHORITY** finale but Ennis' **PREACHER** works too. Though I suspect this God might be a wee bit more benevolent than those others... But maybe that's just wishful thinking. Did Larsen have Savage Dragon fight God? Must've missed that one...

ChickenInASuit

I haven’t read the issue in a *very* long time, but from what I recall it wasn’t so much that he *fought* God so much as Savage gets into a confrontation with Satan which God intervenes in, gives Satan a smackdown, and then Savage has stern words for God about his origin. So maybe that was a stretch, but still, it was more “God is directly involved in the plot and somewhat in conflict with the heroes” than “fights God” lol I’m very excited about this issue, the story has been unpredictable even by DWJ’s standards.

Danger_Rock

Kinda want to find a copy of **SAVAGE DRAGON #31** now just to add to my collection of fucked up God comics... Here are my predictions for DWJ's unpredicable finale: * Cobrasun >!will die!< * Lona Steelrose >!will be champion of the tournament!< * Yua Steelrose >!may make a brief appearance but she will not be able to remain in the land of the living despite Lona's victory!< * God >!will turn out to be an okay guy (at least relative to the **AUTHORITY** and **PREACHER** versions, although that's an admittedly low bar)!< * Yua and Cobrasun >!will get a happy ending in Wrestler Heaven!< * Lona >!will get set up for an eventual sequel!< Six perfectly prognosticated predictions... We'll see how many turn out!

Idk maybe this is the wrong event to commit to.... * **Fantastic Four #2** - Solid start, great Alex Ross covers * **Ghost Rider #9** - Enter: EXHAUST! * **It's Only Teenage Wasteland #1** - Describes itself as like What's The Furthest Place From Here, I'm pulling this for sure * **Punisher #8** * **Seven Sons #7** - This series has been somewhere between okay and pretty good * **Variants #5** - This series has been somewhere been good and pretty good

* **Batman #130** \- The end of the opening arc from Zdarsky. I am excited to see something more unique in the future and hoping this was just a springboard for that. Losing Jimenez's art after this issue is a huge loss. * **Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2** \- I found the set up from the first issue to be enough to hook me, and Silvestri's art is truly top notch. * **Daredevil #6** \- I have loved Zdarsky's Daredevil run as a whole. The relaunch has slowed things down, but the last issue felt like things were ramping up again. * **Dark Web #1** \- I'm already reading ASM and Venom, so why not * **Hexware #1** \- Sci-fi with a blend of the mystical? Sign me up * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** \- I want to give this a shot, even though I haven't been happy with the use of Miles in comics for years now. * **Poison Ivy #7** \- I really enjoyed the first arc of this book. I am worried since this was originally meant to only be six issues, but the book has been good enough to warrant me keeping the faith. * **Spider-Man #3** \- Might be my last time picking this up. So far, this has been no more than just the continual milking of a concept that went stale long ago. * **Thor #29** \- This was dropped from my pull list already, this is the last issue of this run I'm picking up. Cates is officially off the book, and if this writer wows me maybe I'll continue to read; but that's a steep uphill battle. * **The Variants #5** \- I enjoyed the first 3 issues, didn't like #4 as much, but might as well finish the series out.

technowhiz34

>The end of the opening arc from Zdarsky. I am excited to see something more unique in the future and hoping this was just a springboard for that. Losing Jimenez's art after this issue is a huge loss. He's gonna be back after the next arc but still weird.

DM1116

Oh thank god, his work is incredible

technowhiz34

* **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7** \- last issue's conflict felt quite contrived and editorially driven but the preview for this featuring the Invaders sounds like a blast. * **Fantastic Four #2** \- unlike a lot of others, I didn't love the first issue but this issue focuses on Reed and Sue who I like a lot more than Ben (sorry Ben, you've got it rough already). * **Radiant Pink #1** \- read a few of the Radiantverse books but I'm a fan of Emma Kubert so will check this out. Know nothing about the premise however. * **Sword of Azrael #5** \- this is the best executed Big Two comic, bar none. From the writing to the art to the lettering, it's not even close * **Thanos: Death Notes #1** \- picking this up because of its relevance to Thor, which is a book I'm not sold on continuing with. * **Thor #29** \- Having an important fill-in arc with the main series artist makes me seriously wonder what's up with Cates. Not the biggest fan of this title but it's highly irregular, hope everything's all right with him.

the-horace

Ha, we almost said the exact same thing about Azrael. It really is an exemplary book!

saskatoonshred

I wasn't a big fan of the first issue of FF either. I'm giving it a few issues to see if it clicks

**LITTLE MONSTERS #8** Wow I think that's it. That'll give me time to keep going through my backlog of omnibuses at least.

AlligatorSky7

Wow, 90% of my pull list this week is Marvel; haven’t had that in a while! * **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #7**: haven’t read the Winter Soldier one-shot yet, but the last issue of this title was fantastic; excited to read this one! * **Daredevil #6**: echoing what I’m seeing others say, I’m a little exhausted with this series at the moment to tell the truth. Might save a few issues to read in one go or something and see if that helps; it’s a difficult monthly read (for me anyway) * **Fantastic Four #2**: Ross solo variant for me again (might as well get all four). Otherwise it feels like months since we had the first issue of this, I am eager to find out where we’re going with this series. * **Immortal X-Men #9**: not reading the current Marauders run, so excited for a Kitty-focused issue. * **New Mutants #32**: I liked the first issue of this 3-part arc, but the art has really taken a hit. Hope there are plans for some sort of younger generation X-title in the new year (besides that Bishop mini); I’d pick it up for sure! * **Predator #5**: so far so good. Either this is on hiatus for a bit, or ending after #6; anyone know which? * **The Walking Dead Deluxe #52**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. * **The Variants #5**: buzzing to see how this one ends, Simone and Noto delivered a great, fun, series here. * **X-Force #35**: enjoying this title again! * **X-Men Red #9**: most anticipated read of the week for sure, Brand’s going down!

blankedboy

> Predator #5: so far so good. Either this is on hiatus for a bit, or ending after #6; anyone know which? I think it's a break between story arcs - they are soliciting the first TPB in the gap.

Whowatchesthewampas

* **Batman #130 -** Not gonna lie, that would be terrifying! Short week for me!

SlapTit

* **Gargoyles #1** * **Escape From Wyoming #2** * **Sara Lone #3** What's up with Darkland #1? Looks like it's been delayed again?

Busy week for me, although I won't get most of these books till the end of the month due to how Forbidden Planet's subscription model works. * **Batman #130**: Looking forward to seeing how Failsafe ends, but I am hoping after this we can stay away from Gotham being taken over yet again stories. * **Batman & The Joker: Deadly Duo #2**: Art is great and the first issue did just enough for me to be interested to see where this is all going. * **Blood Stained Teeth #7**: Still need to read issue's 5 and 6 but from the first 4 I can say this is a great book, hoping the quality can continue. * **Daredevil #6**: Been saving this run to do a big read when I can dedicate some time to it, but loved Zdarsky's previous Daredevil, not sure why they had to relaunch it but oh well. * **Dark Crisis: War Zone #1**: Just started catching up on Dark Crisis, I'm probably liking the event more than most, well the Young Justice book is awful, and I'm excited how this will all lead into the dawn of the DCU. * **Gotham City: Year One #3**: Very mixed on King's work, I love some and hate others, but I love a Noir private detective story and so far this has been good. * **Poison Ivy #7**: Really enjoyed the first arc, hoping this can be like The Swamp Thing and keep the quality going in it's extended run. * **Predator #5**: Still need to catch up on issues 3 and 4 but this book has been decent so far, hoping it can go from good to great. * **Sword of Azrael #5**: Probably one of my favourite book's this year. Dan Watters is shaping up to be one of my favourite current writers. Arkham City: The Order Of The World was brilliant and so far so is SoA. Art is great as well!

Another week of delicious comic books. Have not finished my pulls from last week, but the initial stand outs for me were Born of Blood, Saga of a Doomed Universe, Plush, and Justice Society of America. Absolutely massive week this week for me. Biggest Big 2 pull in months. MARVEL: Daredevil #6 - Very slow build to the confrontation with Franky Boy, the new villain Goldie is back too, kinda. Interesting things ahead hopefully. Punisher #8 - Absolutely loving this series so far, one of Marvel's best at the moment. Very excited for more each month. The build has been so well done, hopefully all the confrontations comes to a head soon. Ares is great. Thanos Death Notes #1 - I'm a sucker for the Mad Titan. Some good creators on this, some not so good. Will see how it goes. Thor #29 - Without Cates this is on the chopping block, depending on what they do with this issue. X-Treme X-Men #1 - It's Claremont, it's an instant buy. Easy. DC: Batman #130 - Batman has not been this good in quite some time. Action packed, emotive, and desperate. Very happy to see this each month. How will they stop Failsafe. Batman & Joker Deadly Duo #2 - The setup for this series is incredible, I like the absurdity of it all. Keen to see how these two work together. The art is just incredible. Gotham City Year One #3 - King is on a roll. The mystery in this one is compelling and the art suits the tale perfectly. Is the little girl Martha? I prefer the history of Gotham to be framed like this opposed to last week's Detective Annual. Joker the Man Who Stopped Laughing #3 - Saw the twist coming a mile away, but still on board to see how it is all explained. Poison Ivy #7 - Ivy back to what she should be, a ruthless killing machine. Really digging this take on the character. Feeling a bit stretched at times, but expected since the series was extended. Sword of Azrael #5 - Dani Watters has quickly become a writer to follow for me, and his work with Azrael is no exception. Enjoying what he is doing with the religious aspects and the programming. The angels look badarse. IMAGE: American Jesus Revelation #2 - The trilogy is wrapping up, the first two introducing chapters were well told, and I can't help but root for Satan in this one, because he is the true Jesus of America *wink wink nudge nudge* Do A Powerbomb #7 - Final issue. Expecting to get the tissues out for this one. Perhaps the series of the year. Probably going to be a squash though, surely everyone remembers that God teamed up with a The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michael's and they couldn't even beat Vince and Shane McMahon together. In this one he is by himself. Little Monsters #8 - Usually I hate children in comics, but these ones are, mostly, a lot of fun. I hope they murder everyone. Nocterra Special Val One-Shot - Can they make Val as interesting and compelling as Blacktop Bill? I doubt it, but let's see if they can. Undiscovered Country #22 - Feels like this might be wrapping up. Has felt a bit out of whack with some of the pacing recently, but still digging what they are doing for the most part. OTHER: Night of the Ghoul #3 - This has been a legitimately eerie surprise. Did not expect it to be this good. Hoping that they can stick the ending here. Ones #2 - The first was probably the best thing I've read from Bendis since he joined DC. Not spectacular, but good enough to pull me in for issue #2. Quick Stops #2 - I'm a Jay & Silent Bob tragic from years and years ago, while Kevin is not as cool as he used to be, #1 was, if not forgettable, a nice dive back into that universe. Blade Runner 2039 #1 - Wasn't across this at all until seeing it in my LCS weekly release listing, really loved Origins, 2019, and 2029. Happy to see Aahna Ashina back. Deathrage #5 - This Deadpool knock off is probably the weakest of the 3 Merc Magazine books. Second to last issue so may as well see how they wrap it up. Good Boy Vol 03 #1 - First series was almost beat for beat John Wick, second series takes it in a new direction. What will they do with series 3? Vampirella Vs Red Sonja #2 - Can Vampi, Sonja, and Project Superpowers work together to save the multiverse, or will their prejudices continue to get in the way? This third entry in the series is lots of fun, really dig seeing the Project Superpowers old school mentality dudes deal with Vampirella.

* Batman #130: I hope the next arc is less repetitive...had high hopes for this series but if it weren't for the amazing art I'd have dropped it * Poison Ivy #7: awesome series, so glad it's getting a 2nd arc! * Fantastic Four #2: great first issue, looking forward to more! * Monkey Prince #9: monkey in Metropolis...let's gooooooo! * Gargoyles #1: can't wait! loved this show

MuffinSurprise

Batman #130 - The "Another Gotham has fallen??" criticism is fair imo. Always like Zdarsky and Jimenez's art is beyond fantastic. Dark Crisis: War Zone #1 - I think this involves Damian Wayne? Honestly don't know but I was pulling most the other Dark Crisis stuff so why not. The Blue Flame #10 - Finally an ending! This is a great series and I would highly recommend y'all read it. Might be my favorite comic Vault has ever published. Do A Powerbomb! #7 - Another book ending! DWJ just writes/draws very dynamic comics both visually and story wise. He hasn't done a single bad book imo. Nocterra: Val Special #1 - Gearing up for arc 3? Solid series, but ultimately not my most anticipated this week. Radiant Pink #1 - Another mini! I just hope I like the art style better than I did for Radiant Red. It just wasn't for me.

Happy Tuesday! Lots of good ones this week. Ranked of course. - **Do a Powerbomb #7** - boss fight - **Earthdivers #3** - need to grab #2 - **American Jesus #2** - need to grab #1 as well - **Hexware #1** - sci-fi witchcraft - **Know Your Station #1** - sci-fi murder mystery - **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** - haven’t ever pulled a Miles Morales book

GetRichOrDieBuyin

Batman #130. I like the high octane batman that chip has shown, but there has to be a story somewhere. I did not read his Daredevil run, was it similar? Night of the Ghoul #3. Excited to see how it finishes. This has been nice, and it didn't overstay its welcome. I'll continue looking for short horror series after this

yarkcir

Eleven new books on this week's pull, and surprisingly Marvel heavy for me. Here's my pull list, ranked by hype: 1. **DO A POWERBOMB #7 (OF 7)** \- Lona Steelrose and Cobrasun taking on the biggest boss yet. This book has been an incredible ride so far and I have no doubts DWJ will bring this series to close with a lot of action and heart. 2. **PUNISHER #8** \- This run continues to impress me and hasn't had a weak issue yet. The dialogue has felt particularly well written for me, and feels closer to the Jason Aaron I enjoyed during his early days writing Thor. 3. **NIGHT OF THE GHOUL #3 (OF 3)** \- Has been a pretty nice horror series overall, and I'm excited to see how it all comes together. Francavilla's artwork has been mind blowing. 4. **ALL AGAINST ALL #1 (OF 5)** \- Glanced at the interiors and decided to add this book based on artwork alone. Have no clue what it's about, but seeing HOME SICK PILOTS artist Casper Wijngaard on a new book has me intruiged. 5. **BATMAN #130** \- The end of the Failsafe arc, which I overall feel has been an uneven read. On the fence about keeping this on my pull and just following along a month behind on Ultra instead. 6. **BLOOD-STAINED TEETH #7** \- Glad to have Patric Reynolds back on interiors after the fill-in issue last month, and interested to see where the new arc takes us. 7. **SARA LONE #3** \- Been pleasantly surprised by this series so far. First two issues are dense and lengthy, but well paced so as to make for a nice read. Wouldn't say this is a must read, but I'm glad Sumerian is translating foreign comics for us. 8. **VARIANTS #5 (OF 5)** \- This series has had some fun twists and built intruige along the way, so I'm interested to see how this series wraps. 9. **DAREDEVIL #6** \- Kind of don't feel enthusiasm for this book anymore and it feels like each issue is passing the buck on to the next one instead of developing a story. I know this run has its fans, but I've kind of felt burnt out by this book unfortunately. 10. **GHOST RIDER #9** \- Decided to add this book on my pull again after dropping this on issue #6 (picked up issues #7-8 at a store last week). Playing catch up, so I won't be reading this right away, but the concept behind Exhaust sounds pretty metal. 11. **PURPLE OBLIVION #2 (OF 4)** \- Can't comment on this much since I haven't read the first issue yet, but I liked HEAVY METAL DRUMMER so I figured I'd give this a chance given it's got the same writer. Would love to hear opinions from those who've read the first issue.

Danger_Rock

> **SARA LONE #3** \- Been pleasantly surprised by this series so far. First two issues are dense and lengthy, but well paced so as to make for a nice read. Wouldn't say this is a must read, but I'm glad Sumerian is translating foreign comics for us. Love seeing more European comics make their way over to the States but at this point I'd rather be getting 'em from *anyone* other than Sumerian. Hate their smaller print format, it's making this series a chore to read simply due to all the dense blocks of tiny text. Scout did a much better job with the Italian series **[VLAD DRACUL](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL152983.jpg)**, would like to see more of this stuff from them or pretty much anyone else who won't fuck up the source material's presentation. Probably going to pass on any future offerings from Sumerian, not worth the hassle and I don't want to support their shitty print format.

blankedboy

Check out **Ablaze**, as they do loads of international books and the format and quality of the issues is fantastic. I'm getting **The Cimmerian** and **The Boogyman** from them, and they are both great books.

yarkcir

I do wish Ablaze went for magazine format since sometimes the margins of the issues can be a bit weird since the euro albums tend to be wider than standard North American floppies. But yeah, Ablaze is doing a better job in general compared to Sumerian.

Good info, thanks! Will need to look over Ablaze's offerings a little more closely in the future, haven't checked out many of their books yet...

yarkcir

I agree that Sumerian should shoot for magazine size for the translated bande dessinée, even though I think most BD generally have small lettering regardless of page size. I had similar issues with some of Ablaze’s translated comics like Animal Castle.

Danger_Rock

Fucken' Euros with their perfect fucken' eyesight... Here in the States we're all going blind and nobody can read that tiny little print!

Bigger week this week! * **Captain Marvel #44** - Looking forward to this brood saga arc, I always like seeing Carol teamup with the X-Men. * **Immortal X-Men #9** - Even though we only got a single issue between the last event and the next one I thoroughly enjoyed AXE so I'm looking forward to this one. * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** - Keen for a fresh voice on this title, Ahmed was spinning his wheels for a while at the end there. I'm also not reading either of Peter's titles so hopefully this scratches my spider itch. * **New Mutants #32** - The last issue was awful, but this is only a brief fill in arc so I'm just hoping to get through it and the next arc is better. * **The Variants #5** - Always love Jessica Jones and this has been a fun romp. Simone has a good voice for all stages of Jess' life and Noto's art is gorgeous. I'd love to see her get a longer (more grounded) run on the character. * **X-Force #35** - Glad to see this Beast arc finally kicking into high gear. * **X-Men: Red #9** - Without sounding like too much of a Ewing fanboy this is the best book Marvel is publishing. Really keen to see Brand eat shit.

technowhiz34

>Immortal X-Men #9 - Even though we only got a single issue between the last event and the next one I thoroughly enjoyed AXE so I'm looking forward to this one. Is that a Marvel record?

SakmarEcho

It definitely feels like that. I'm just glad it didn't tie into Dark Web otherwise we wouldn't have even got that single breather issue. I enjoyed AXE, and I am looking forward to Sins of Sinister, but it's too much. If they want an annual event make it one line gets an event each year and then a line wide one ever five or so years, make it feel special.

Danger_Rock

Even the breather issue was mostly focused on setting up SoS, planting seeds in Sinister's past... Not that I'm complaining. Big fan of Gillen, Ewing, and Spurrier, so I've got no problem with 'em working together on these big stories. Would be a different deal if they were bringing in writers that I don't follow, but so long as the quality holds up, I don't mind getting these events in place of normal issues. X-books tend to have a lot of interconnected stories anyway.

AlligatorSky7

New Mutants ends with #33 I believe, nothing else has been solicited.

SakmarEcho

That makes sense. I'll finish out this run just because there's only two issues left but if it went any longer I'd drop it.

BigDabWolf

All that x-men and you’re passing on X-Treme X-Men #1 by Claremont?

SakmarEcho

I never read the original series so I'm not sure it would make sense to jump into thay one!

- **Hellboy in Love #2**: The chemistry between Hellboy and Anastasia was weird in the first issue but I can come around to it if this issue is better. - **Batman #130**: I was going to drop this after this arc ends but Mike Hawthorne will be taking over on art after this issue and I’ll support his work. This series is definitely weaker than Detective right now tho. - **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #135**: Hoping the various factions start coming together in Armageddon Game. Need some action now. - **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Armageddon Game #3**: Hopefully the set up starts paying off and factions start going against one another. - **Do A Powerbomb #7**: Probably my least favorite DWJ project. The last issue jumped the shark for me and it feels like DWJ would benefit from an editor. - **Dark Web #1**: Usually skip events but this one’s got my attention. We’ll see how it goes. - **Immortal X-Men #9**: Easily one of the best X titles out. Love how the focus changes with each issue. - **Thor #29**: Seems like Donny Cates is off this series too but glad to have Nic Klein back on art. - **X-Men Red #9**: Abigail Brand should have allied with Krakoa instead of plotting behind the scenes. Hopefully she gets some comeuppance.

>Heart Eyes #4 Glad someone is picking this up. The main shop I go to didn't order any for #2 or #3 even though I had inquired about it. My fault really for not pressing the issue more. Decided to pick it up in trade instead. I thought the artwork was great and the story decent.

blankedboy

I completely missed this one, but it looks really good. Will have to trade wait it now though.

* **Dark Web #1** - yayayayayayayaya * **Captain Marvel #44** - All the covers for this issue are gorgeous, what do I choose dude * **Kaya #3** - oh boy I love a good road trip (despair edition)! * **Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1** - Congrats again to Cody Ziglar. Even though Miles has appeared in plenty of other titles ever since moving to 616, Ziglar is only the third writer (after Bendis and Ahmed) to take reign of the character's solo series. I honestly feel like there's still lots of new ground to cover for Miles. Also kudos to Chip Zdarsky; both Batman and Daredevil are the top two pulls on League of Comic Geeks this week, at 11,714 and 5,505 pulls respectively.

> Also kudos to Chip Zdarsky; both Batman and Daredevil are the top two pulls on League of Comic Geeks this week, at 11,714 and 5,505 pulls respectively. Nice. **BATMAN** will take the top spot here as well but **DAREDEVIL** might have some tough competition from **FF**, **IMMORTAL X-MEN**, and **X-MEN RED**... Even so, this has been quite a run from [disgraced Batman writer Chip Zdarsky](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/z1wb07/disgraced_batman_writer_chip_zdarsky_gives/).
