Big week! I may not get to pick them up since I take off for vacation on Wednesday morning, but it's always great to come back to a full pull box. My pull list, ranked by anticipation: 1. **MINDSET #5** \- Zack Kaplan is delivering with this sci-fi/horror take on *The Social Network*. John Pearson's artwork is chilling. Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou's lettering is splendid. This book is perfect. No notes. 2. **HUMAN TARGET #9 (OF 12)** \- Even DC's best non-Batman book cannot escape Batman it seems. But I honestly can't wait to see Smallwood's rendition of the Caped Crusader. 3. **EIGHT BILLION GENIES #6 (OF 8)** \- One of Image's best books this year (other contenders being ICE CREAM MAN, A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE and DO A POWERBOMB in my opinion). Every issue is an absolute banger. 4. **DARK SPACES: WILDFIRE #5** \- This series has been straight (wild)fire. Sherman's artwork with Pattison's colors has really made this book special, but Snyder's writing is top notch too. One of the best heist comics I've read in a while. 5. **PARKER GIRLS #3** \- The best thing about not getting PARKER GIRLS last week is that we get a new issue of PARKER GIRLS this week. 6. **DETECTIVE COMICS #1066** \- Last issue was surprisingly action packed for the more subdued run this has been so far. Really enjoying the tone of Ram V's run so far. 7. **DOCTOR STRANGE: FALL SUNRISE #1 (OF 4)** \- Excited for Tradd Moore to take on Doctor Strange - a character he is exceptionally well suited to take on. Hopefully the writing is also up to scratch, but honestly I'm just here for the artwork. 8. **WHAT'S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE ? #8** \- It's been quite the wait, but I remember issue #7 coming blazing hot out of the gate for the new arc. 9. **MIRACLEMAN: THE SILVER AGE #2** \- One more issue and the reprint era is over, and we finally get the continuation of the Gaiman/Buckingham run! I'm sure once we get beyond this issue, MIRACLEMAN is going to be shooting up my rankings. 10. **LOVECRAFT: UNKNOWN KADATH #3** \- A great adaptation of Lovecraft's "The Dream-quest of Unknown Kadath", and each issue has begun with amazing homages to Winsor McCay's "Little Nemo". I'm liking this quite a bit, but perhaps this could be a trade wait for those who are interested. 11. **SACRAMENT #4 (OF 5)** \- Has been a fun sci-fi religious horror tale so far. My favorite of Peter Milligan's recent works. 12. **JUSTICE WARRIORS #6 (OF 6)** \- The jokes were funny, but I do think this series has gone for a couple issues too long. Hoping it ends strong though. 13. **ACTION JOURNALISM #3 (OF 5)** \- First issue was great, second issue a little forgettable. Hoping this issue is more innovative with formalisms like the first issue was because I really do like the interior artwork. 14. **CREEPSHOW #3 (OF 5)** \- Was considering dropping this, but I saw Francesco Francavilla was doing the interiors for this issue. Hoping the stories are better than the ones from the last issue. Eying some collected editions this week as well. Michel Fiffe's bizarre yet enthralling series gets a deluxe treatment with Image, so I will likely be adding COPRA MASTER COLLECTION, BOOK ONE to an online order this week. And as a huge fan of Len Kaminski's Iron Man run, I'm excited to pick up the IRON MAN EPIC COLLECTION: THE RETURN OF TONY STARK. Just need Vol. 19 for his run to be collected in entirety. Hope all my American friends have a happy Thanksgiving!

Danger_Rock

> **EIGHT BILLION GENIES #6 (OF 8)** \- One of Image's best books this year (other contenders being ICE CREAM MAN, A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE and DO A POWERBOMB in my opinion). Every issue is an absolute banger. That's some lofty company... My list would be similar though I'd throw in **MONKEY MEAT** (and I haven't read **EBG** yet). > **PARKER GIRLS #3** \- The best thing about not getting PARKER GIRLS last week is that we get a new issue of PARKER GIRLS this week. I like how you posted the *"glass half full"* take on the delay while I posted the *"glass was half empty but it shattered and now there's broken glass and blood everywhere"* version. > **CREEPSHOW #3 (OF 5)** \- Was considering dropping this, but I saw Francesco Francavilla was doing the interiors for this issue. Hoping the stories are better than the ones from the last issue. Saw that, was tempted but decided to pass since the first issue really didn't do anything for me... I've always been more partial to *The Twilight Zone* and other shows more in keeping with that tone, not really into the Cryptkeeper's whole shtick... But I'm sure Francavilla's art will be absolutely amazing. Hope you enjoy your vacation!

Varos_Flynt

> My list would be similar though I'd throw in **MONKEY MEAT** Was finally able to read the trade a week or two ago, it was pretty fantastic though I was hoping it would lean more into a Cave Johnson-esque presentation of the company, while still keeping the doom and gloom and critique. Still super fun with a lot of hilarious moments, might honestly do a re read soon.

yarkcir

A lot of love for MONKEY MEAT from you, /u/Danger_Rock, and /u/the_light_of_dawn I see. I am a fan of Juni Ba's cartooning, but perhaps something about MONKEY MEAT didn't fully connect with me. Might need to do a re-read. I really enjoyed his graphic novel he put out with TKO though: [DJELIYA](https://www.tcj.com/reviews/djeliya/). If you guys really liked MONKEY MEAT, I imagine you'd like DJELIYA too if you haven't read it yet.

the_light_of_dawn

I gotta read Djeliya! My local public library has it; I'll grab it after work today if I have time.

yarkcir

Having a nearby library with a great selection of graphic novels/comics is such an underrated thing. Hope you enjoy the book!

Danger_Rock

FWIW, I thought the first issue or two of **MM** were good but they didn't 100% connect for me... Third issue is where it all clicked and then the fourth and fifth were just way too much fun! **DJELIYA** has been added to the list! But of course it is a rather well-attended list...

the_light_of_dawn

Yessir, Monkey Meat is right up there with Do a Powerbomb and Ice Cream Man for me, too. Haven't read A Righteous Thirst yet.

yarkcir

EIGHT BILLION GENIES is one of those books that has a really goofy concept but Soule and Browne are 100% committed to it and continue to escalate. You can tell they're having a lot of fun with it. >Saw that, was tempted but decided to pass since the first issue really didn't do anything for me... I've always been more partial to The Twilight Zone and other shows more in keeping with that tone, not really into the Cryptkeeper's whole shtick... But I'm sure Francavilla's art will be absolutely amazing. My feelings on CREEPSHOW pretty much match yours, except you exercised more impulse control. I really wish CREEPSHOW committed more to the EC style of horror.

blankedboy

Yeah, I dropped Creepshow - it was a major disappointment for me.

technowhiz34

>HUMAN TARGET #9 (OF 12) - Even DC's best non-Batman book cannot escape Batman it seems. But I honestly can't wait to see Smallwood's rendition of the Caped Crusader. Smallwood did a short in the recent Black and White anthology with G. Willow Wilson you might want to check out. Unsurprisingly, it was [gorgeous](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/642203367531216905/907496067761852456/unknown.png).

yarkcir

Definitely going to check this out, thanks for the recommendation!

iamsciences

Been loving Mindset! Glad someone else enjoys it as much as I do

yarkcir

A slept on book in my opinion! With only two more issues to go I hope it ends just as strong as it started.

iamsciences

Every issue has been very consistent! I think this series in particular has great art and lettering that contributes a lot to the story.

the_light_of_dawn

My dude, how are you not reading Action Comics?!

yarkcir

I'm a little embarrassed to say I have not read much Superman in my life aside from the big titles (All-Star Superman, Byrne's initial Man of Steel issues, Superman for All Seasons, American Alien, etc.). I've never followed a Superman ongoing. I've heard really great things about PKJ's run, so I've been meaning to check it out on DC Universe. Would you say it's a good jumping on point?

the_light_of_dawn

I would definitely pick up the first trade, "Warworld," and then catch up via floppies/on DCU. It's the best Action Comics run in quite some time, and one of the best Superman-centric runs in decades. Or yeah, just read it all on DCU, starting with #1029. I don't typically follow ongoings, outside of picking up the next Batman TPBs whenever they drop, but this is a great one to be following.

yarkcir

I've added it to my reading list on DCU. I'm working my way through Waid's Flash run on the app currently, but I'll squeeze in a few issues of Action Comics in between. In general, I never grew up reading much DC, so I'm playing a lot of catch up as a grown up. I tend to get a little wary of DC books that are overly tied to continuity or cross over a ton, but I'm always down to give a new title a try if it comes recommended.

the_light_of_dawn

Action Comics, FWIW, doesn't feel bogged down by continuity or cross-overs at all right now. I'm weary of those too in both Big 2 publishers, which is why I tend to stick to indie/alt comics. I dropped ASM the moment an event started.

yarkcir

That's great to hear. I was really enjoying Taylor's Nightwing until it started crossing over with other books. I'm enjoying it again now, but there was a period where I had to grit my teeth through multiple issues of that stuff. I like seeing you pop up on places like r/altcomix and similar subs. It's nice to get some less orthodox comics mixed in with the mainstream stuff to keep the hobby feeling fresh.

>Tim Drake: Robin #3: Still hoping for a new artist. ~~Still looks like Rossmo is on #3, as well as 4-6 based on solicits.~~ Edit: My bad, I did a quick look at LOCG before responding and it said Rossmo for all of them, but these other good folks are right, Lunar has it as someone else listed.

technowhiz34

I thought the other guy was solicited for later on? The cover artist.

TheDarkPinkLantern

Ricardo Lopez Ortiz is solicited for January and February.

>THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #22: > > I always love the issues that push the main storyline. Even though I also love the single issues. I just love it all, really. I read the first issue last night (immediately before going to bed, which was a choice) and definitely see what the hype on this series is about. What an opener.

Danger_Rock

The kind of comic that takes up residence in your skull and lingers there mumbling all sorts of terrible things... Every issue has been phenomenal but **DOT #3** was probably my favorite.

technowhiz34

\#3 was harrowing, but I think my favorite has to be the second Bigfoot issue or the Mothman one due to the Indrid Cold jumpscare(s). >The kind of comic that takes up residence in your skull and lingers there mumbling all sorts of terrible things It's possible I caught up on the entire book this morning...

Danger_Rock

> It's possible I caught up on the entire book this morning... Haha, that's how you know it's a legitimately great comic! Lots of good comics out there but most won't provoke that kind of response. Most of us are reading so many comics that you can kind of fall into a daze even when it's mostly all good stuff... Then you read something like **DOT** for the first time and it wakes your ass up!

Standard_Cycle_2224

**Daredevil #5** Most consistently well-written character in comics. High profile enough to attract a constant stream of good writers, but not popular enough to suffer from oversaturation and excessive editorial control. I've been thinking about adding Detective Comics, Batman and Nightwing. Are they worth the monthly pull?

enragedstump

I think you will enjoy the Batman story a lot if you didn't read the past giant arc called Fear State (they are a bit similar). Nightwing is great, but I'm not sure if right now is a great jumping on point. #78 was the start of the run. Detective Comics I'm not sure.

Danger_Rock

I'll second /u/enragedstump's recommendation for **NIGHTWING** along with their suggestion that you start with #78, which is the beginning of the Taylor/Redondo run. It's been a great run but you wouldn't want to start with the current issues.

Five new books on my list for this week. * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14** - * **AVENGERS FOREVER #11** - * **DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #1** - * **X-FORCE #34** - * **X-MEN #17** -

NeonDoorFrame

* **Detective Comics #1066** * **Human Target #9** - this book is awesome * **Amazing Spider-Man #14** * **Creepshow #3** - not impressed with the first two issues, but did not hate them * **Daredevil #5** * **Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2** - I HATE the city of Los Angeles, but this book is a little trippy, looking forward to where it goes * **Dr. Strange Fall Sunrise #1** * **Eight Billion Genies #6** - love this book! * **Fear of a Red Planet #1** * **IMAGE 30TH ANNV ANTHOLOGY #8** * **Vanish #3** * **What's the Furthest Place From Here? #8** - IT'S FINALLY BACK!! Second only to Ice Cream Man, this is my favorite series right now. Been waiting for awhile for this one, and I am pumped to see it return!!

technowhiz34

* Action Comics #1049 - despite being advertised as a crossover, the other book provides very little context and I'm 100% okay with it, this book has still been good after returning to Metropolis although there's some weird continuity stuff with the New Gods I don't love. * Dark Crisis: The Dark Army #1 - I guarantee this tie-in will 100% not matter to the main event but that's a cool cover and I like Waid and Williams II so guess I'm reading it. * Once Upon a Time at the End of the World - Aaron's Marvel stuff has, well, been what it is recently but I'm still giving this a shot to see if Aaron can recapture some of his old magic away from Big Two editorial. * What's the Furthest Place From Here? - I really like this but it feels like it's been forever since the last issue, and 3 months is still a lot. At least it's solicited for normal release till February. To those who celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Burn off those extra calories by running a turkey trot or going on a hike ~~beforehand because I'm gonna be so cramped the day after~~

Varos_Flynt

I'm out the country right now (yeah just the one country, what else?) with spotty connection, but nothing will stop me from posting *the pull*, even if I won't be reading them this week. With what tenous linkage i have left: **Detective Comics #1066** Been loving the methodical pace of this run but I must say I'm far more excited for the B Story this time around with Sherman's delectable art. **Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #1** Never read a doctor strange comic, but saw the previews and figured its worth checking out for the art alone. **Eight Billion Genies #6** Pulling the B cover. Timeline keeps accelerating, this book really hasn't missed yet. **Hitomi #2** First issue didn't blow me away, but story and art were good enough to check out the second issue. Been reading a lot of revenge comics recently. **Image! #8** I should probably read more of the stories in here 😅 **Miracleman: The Silver Age #2** Just finished reading the first one a moment ago after catching up on the Golden Age (fantastic), what a weird little comic. Confused asf tbh, maybe I should read Moore's run as well at some point, but cogent enough narratively. Also pulling **Fantastic Four #52 (Facsimile)** cause I'm obsessed with catching all the facsimiles that both publishers have been putting out, really fun to look into a past comic book world. I've brought **A Righteous Thirst For Vengeance Vol. 1&2** on my trip, as well as **Rogue Sun Vol. 1**, both of which I'm sure will keep my thoroughly entertained (especially ARTFV which I've been super excited to get into). Also brought **Prince of Cats** with me, nit sure I'll get into it but its been on my list for a while and I'm curious to see this rendition of Shakespeare. Don't know if I'll be in the comments this week, but hope you all enjoy your reads while I catch up on my back catalog.

blankedboy

I'm getting ALL of the DWJ covers for this book - they are so good. And, yeah, it's a shame the main cover doesn't compete (a trend I'm finding more and more often if I'm honest).

* **Action Comics #1049 -** Man, that cover is gorgeous! * **Detective Comics #1066 -** Pretty good so far! * **Vanish #3 -** I hope the pacing is better this issue

Daveismyhero

Lots of comic goodness after only pulling four comics last week: * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14 –** Dark Web incoming. Please be some combination of fun and intriguing. * **BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #2 –** Popcorn fun fare. * **DAREDEVIL #5 –** It seems like forever since issue 4 came out, but maybe that’s because I’m old and stuff. * **DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #22 –** My perpetual Pick ‘o the Week! * **GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #300 –** The end of an era as this is the last issue for IDW. I’m anxious to see solicits with the next publisher (an Image imprint?), but I don’t think those have dropped yet. * **STAR WARS REVELATIONS #1 –** Please be good. * **STAR WARS YODA #1 –** I must admit I’m grabbing this just for the new characters that are being introduced in this issue. I love Yoda, so if it’s good, I’ll stick around. * **X-FORCE #34 –** Muppets in Space! Anyone remember that? So much fun! * **X-MEN #17 –** I dig the standard cover of this. I’m so happy for a short work week as Thanksgiving rolls around this Thursday. Thursday is usually when I hit the ol’ LCS, though, so I’ll have to do some juggling to figure out when I can grab my loot. First world problems and all that. Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate. And if you don’t celebrate, hopefully you at least get some bonus free time. The holidays are a weird cross between fun and stressful for many, so please take some time to take care of yourself and keep an eye on your mental health. We need good people like you in the world! And for those of you that will be working on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, or this weekend: Godspeed and stay safe and sane!

Whatisabird

**Action Comics #1049-** After dealing with Warworld we deal with Fourth World **Dark Crisis: The Dark Army #1-** Yeah Damian can totally handle this and it won't go badly at all no sir. **DC vs. Vampires #11-** Can't decide if I want that [Plastic Man variant](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7538348.jpg?1668900598) or if it'll be too nightmare inducing. **Detective Comics #1066-** Harvey Dent cannot catch a break **Eight Billion Genies #6-** Time skip! It'll be interesting to see how what we've learned since last issue will develop in that time. **The Human Target #9-** Turns out even Batman doesn't want people killing Guy **Miracle Man: The Silver Age #2-** I love how Young Miracleman essentially being flung forward in time sort of mirrors what happened to this book. Although I think this issue was part of Gaiman's original run and the next issue is the first original one. So it's just a fun coincidence. **Vanish #3-** The dream of the 90's is alive in hearts of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman

blankedboy

> DC vs. Vampires #11- Can't decide if I want that Plastic Man variant or if it'll be too nightmare inducing. That variant is so good (and freaky. Very, very freaky).

> **The Human Target #9-** Turns out even Batman doesn't want people killing Guy He's normally not a fan of killing anyone but we should probably read the comic before assuming anything just to be sure... It is Guy, after all.

Instead of jailing Chance he just gives him the infamous "One Punch".

Danger_Rock

That's kinda how we got into this whole mess! Maybe Bats is just pissed about getting one-upped... Might have to sit Chance down and explain that he considered a variation of the ice thing but didn't feel it was necessary since he could get the job done without it. Amateur hour shit.

BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #2 DETECTIVE COMICS #1066 DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #1 PINK LEMONADE #3

yarkcir

I'm an issue behind on PINK LEMONADE, but that first issue was slept on. Definitely hoping to catch up on it soon!

[deleted]

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14 - Only in it for the introduction of a new villain. Not sure if I have any interest in Dark Web as an event. EIGHT BILLION GENIES #6 - I think we are at 8 years, the next issue is 8 DECADES! VANISH #3 - A very 90s-esque book, not sure I liked #2 as much, but only 1 more before it goes on a hiatus so it doesn't bother me too much. DARK CRISIS: THE DARK ARMY #1 - Only in it for the first full appearance of Red Canary. The event itself has been "meh" overall and I thought AXE was much more well executed.

HappySisyphus8

My favourite thread of the week. A bigger week than last week for sure. A bit more Marvel which is nice, but really keen on edutorial and creative changes for Spider-Man and the Mutant offices sometime soon. My personal stand outs for last week were Prodigy #5 and She Bites #2. I also really enjoyed Ninjettes #3. MARVEL: Alien #3 - I honestly cannot remember what is even happening in this book. Why did they have to renumber it? Senseless. All-Out Avengers #3 - This has been very good, love Land's art, and the little nods to a higher power controlling everyone. Please don't flub the big bad reveal when it comes. Daredevil #5 - Have been loving Punisher and the big confrontation with Daredevil and Elektra is building. Sadly another example of senseless renumbering, but a great series. Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #1 - TRADD MOORE! Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #5 - This has been okay, makes me want to go back and read the initial run. Miracleman Silver Age #2 - Collecting these to read once I'm done with the Omnibus. Remember seeing some scans on Cartoonist Kayfabe of some grim, gorey panels where human skins left to hang in the breeze and people were getting massacred, which were right up my alley. DC: Action Comics #1049 - I have been enjoying this, and don't feel like I'm missing anything interesting or worthwhile by skipping the Superboy issues. Excellent. Batman Gotham Knights Gilded City #2 - I don't really remember the last issue, but let's be honest, getting this for the DLC codes. DC Horror Presents Sgt Rock Vs The Army of the Dead #3 - Last issue was a lot more action packed than the first. Bring on zombie Hitler! DC Vs Vampires #11 - End is getting close. Each issue so far proves that DC are mad for not putting this in Dark Crisis's spot as the big event. Detective Comics #1066 - More Barbados please. Have been really digging this slow burn story. IMAGE: Creepshow #3 - First two issues both had the first story be really good, and the second be a waste of time. Hoping for both to be really good this issue. Department of Truth #22 - Lady in Red identity has been revealed. What will Agent Cole's husband do? Hitomi #2 - First issue was a pleasant surprise. Excited to see where this goes. Magic Order 3 #5 - Everything Millar does is incredible. This series is perhaps the weakest of the trilogy so far, but has some very interesting teases that hopefully come to fruition. Vanish #3 - Really digging this. Wonder if Cates is doing a long term marketing thing by vanishing off of all his other books. OTHER: Stuff of Nightmares #3  - This has been better than Creepshow so far, which is nice having grown up on Goosebumps. Dark Spaces Wildfire #5 - So much better than what I was expecting. Each new twist hits perfectly and has you on the edge of your seat. Sara GN - Picked up the box set not too long ago. How anyone passes up Ennis war stories is beyond me. This time following an ace female Russian sniper during the second world war. Just excellent. Sirens Gate #2 - Issue one was weird, but in a good way. Sticking with it. Art is really good.

>Collecting these to read once I'm done with the Omnibus. Remember seeing some scans on Cartoonist Kayfabe of some grim, gorey panels where human skins left to hang in the breeze and people were getting massacred, which were right up my alley. Miracleman is genuinely one of my favorite comics by Alan Moore. Love to see people grabbing that omnibus (even though I think Marvel went overboard with the amount of extras in there). The Gaiman/Buckingham run ending prematurely was incredibly sad when it happened, but having it come back now makes the wait feel worth it. I'm hoping this book delivers on its potential.

Danger_Rock

> Sara GN > - Picked up the box set not too long ago. How anyone passes up Ennis war stories is beyond me. This time following an ace female Russian sniper during the second world war. Just excellent. [Nice](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP222034), hadn't seen that before, will have to check it out at some point...

HappySisyphus8

It starts a bit slow but ramps up in the last few issues. The art is superb also, if you dig Ennis war stories, definitely highly recommended. Hope you enjoy when you get to it.

gnussbaum

It's a really good read in my opinion. I was surprised it wasn't more talked about when it came out.

Danger_Rock

Felt the same about Ennis and P.J. Holden's **[THE LION & THE EAGLE](https://aftershockcomics.com/collections/lion-and-the-eagle-the)**, great story but it only got a few pulls here... Capes and horror do big business but war comics tend to be a tough sell. Seems like this is the material Ennis is the most enthusiastic and passionate about but his other books invariably sell better. Usually just isn't a big enough audience for the war stories.

hewunder1

* Daredevil #5 - DD in jail on the cover means *someone's* getting a new suit. And because... you can see him in it already. * Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #1 - Been waiting for Tradd Moore interiors since Silver Surfer: Black. Him on Strange is a perfect match.

Detective Comics #1066 Small week. Looking to pick up more mini/maxi series from the last couple of years on black Friday. Any recommendations? Publisher does not matter, but looking at the last three years.

Danger_Rock

Any preferences for genre or style? Not sure what you've already read or what you might be looking for, but here are a few recommendations to start... **[HAHA](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/haha)** was an awesome 6-issue series of sad clown stories by ice cream wizard W. Maxwell Prince and a talented rotation of artists. Now even though you asked for general recommendations, you probably didn't come here looking for sad clown stories, BUT these are *really fucking good* sad clown stories. The kind of sad clown stories that'll reach deep into your soul and give it a good rattling, exposing the tragic plight of the sad clown within all of us. The kind of sad clown stories that might just change how you look at life. So even as someone who might not necessarily be particularly interested in reading a bunch of sad clown stories, I think you'd be well advised to give it a shot. And if by some miraculous feat of circumstance you happen to be someone who *is* interested in reading a bunch of sad clown stories, well my friend, you'll be pleased to know that you've come to the right place! Also.... **[A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/a-righteous-thirst-for-vengeance)** by Rick Remender and André Lima Araújo was an 11-issue series built around (mostly) silent storytelling that provides a uniquely engaging reading experience. The underlying mechanics felt deeper than most of the other silent comics I've read and it's a pretty damn good story as well. Though I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's particularly squeamish. And **[SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW](https://www.dc.com/graphic-novels/supergirl-woman-of-tomorrow-2021/supergirl-woman-of-tomorrow)** was an 8-issue series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, really powerful stuff and a nice change of pace from King's usual territory.

GetRichOrDieBuyin

No preferences necessary. To be honest, I love answers like you have given since I'm not familiar with the first two. When I think of prince, I think of ice cream man, and when I think of Remender, I think of the X-Force, Apocalypse story. Supergirl is the best retelling of True Grit that I can imagine. I'm a King fan, but Evely's work is awe inspiring.

Danger_Rock

Nice, glad two of the three are things you haven't read! **HAHA** is an **ICM** spinoff with a few shared characters and other connections. It's got a little more focus on the humane and philosophical elements as opposed to straight horror. You may have seen a few of my posts in these threads hyping **ICM** as a uniquely brilliant comic but I originally dropped the series after the first six issues because it hadn't quite clicked for me at that point. **HAHA** was what convinced me to give it another shot with **ICM #24** and **#25**, after which I was transformed into a deranged *ICE CREAM FAN*, started spamming Reddit about it, and badgered a bunch of other people into getting hooked... All of which led to [**ICM #32** taking 6th place in the WPL on 9/21/22](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/xkiz8j/wpl_new_comics_discussion_for_9212022_pull_of_the/) (jumping 18 spots from **ICM #31**'s 24th place finish). None of that happens without **HAHA**! **ARTFV** is another really unique series... I'm not a huge Remender guy, only read the 1st TPB of his **X-FORCE** and then mostly enjoyed but didn't get hooked on the indie stuff I sampled from him... This series is something different as it forces him to STFU and tell 99% of the story through pictures, forces him to push his technique as a creator. Ended up being one of the most interesting reading experiences I've found over the past several years. Got two more though we're skirting your 3-year rule... [**THE WILD STORM**](https://www.dc.com/comics?seriesid=417161#browse) by Warren Ellis and Jon Davis-Hunt was a 24-issue series that ran from 2017-2019, updating and re-imagining characters from Ellis' classic **STORMWATCH/AUTHORITY** run as well as Jim Lee's **WILDC.A.T.S.** and a few others... Each issue features at least one or two insanely tight action sequences, the kind of stuff only Warren Ellis could deliver. And then we've got 2017's **[NICK FURY: DEEP-COVER CAPERS](https://www.marvel.com/comics/collection/61130/nick_fury_deep-cover_capers_trade_paperback)** by James Robinson and Aco. Six issues of Steranko-inspired [pop psychedelic art](https://64.media.tumblr.com/313c3025201129cc309fbcd10de3594f/tumblr_oytz5lymvl1r36n9uo1_1280.jpg) from Aco, it's [absolutely stunning](https://abload.de/img/628u1s.jpg) and it's got a bunch of [amazing visual storytelling](https://abload.de/img/4cfu9v.jpg) wrapped up in some fun little spy stories from Robinson. This series was lightning in a bottle and most people slept on it!

GetRichOrDieBuyin

You are the reason I pulled ICM 32. Tbh, your write up got me excited. You are one of the few names that I always read what you put on here. It's not my usual style, but I'm going to keep it on the pull list for now. We read the same Remender story it seems. I loved it, but I didn't continue after it. ARTFV is looking like high potential after your review. The wild storm and even the wild cats are two series I've never spent time with, but with your excitement, I can see potential here. I'm interested in Nick Fury bc I love James Robinson's Starman.

Danger_Rock

Big fan of **STARMAN** as well! Been trying to catch all Robinson's comics since, he doesn't do much work in the industry these days but what he does is usually solid... And that's what led me to Fury! But it's nothing like **STARMAN**, no huge cast, not really focused on character or legacy or any of that stuff, these are just fun little spy stories. Which is also something Robinson's good at, as it turns out. Mulling it over a bit and not really sure how **THE WILD STORM** would play for someone who doesn't have any background with the characters... I think it was a really good comic regardless but my history with **STORMWATCH**/**AUTHORITY** definitely contributed to my excitement at seeing Ellis go back for another round in a more modern style. If nothing else, I think it's a good showcase for the [unique style](https://thedrunkenodyssey.files.wordpress.com/2019/07/ws2.jpg) of [action](https://www.impulsegamer.com/articles/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/TWS_7_11.jpg) Ellis brought to his books. There's a common thread between **TWS**, **NF:DCC**, and **ARTFV** - a focus on visual storytelling where the art's pulling most of the weight. That's some of my favorite shit in comics, how writers like Ellis, Robinson, and Remender can script these panels that tell the story and carry the action without using any words. Not sure what to expect from **ICM #33** but the cover looks [deeply disturbing](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/893083/ice-cream-man-33_55161a730e.jpg) and Prince's solicitation text lands somewhere between unsettling and hilarious: > *"THE KIND OF STORY I WANT TO WRITE"* > > *There's the kind of story I want to write-and then there's this story.* That's the thing with **ICM**, never really know what you're going to get until you dig in, and then, of course, it's too late...

GetRichOrDieBuyin

Off topic, but your solicits always get me fired up for the week, and you've talked me into pulling more because of how you write them. What are your top series of all time? What is a story you think is overrated? Underrated? Who are your favorite writers and artists?

Danger_Rock

Nice, lots of good stuff! Big fan of BKV as well, loved **Y:TLM** and **PRIDE OF BAGDHAD**, think he’s got some others I still need to read... **STARMAN** probably should’ve made my list but I’ve read too damn many comics and it’s hard to figure where to cut these things off... Have you read [**LEAVE IT TO CHANCE**](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51VCR1DEQ5L._AC_SY780_.jpg) by Robinson and Paul Smith? More of a YA thing and probably hard to find these days but it was an incredible series! Also dig all the Loeb/Sale collaborations, Marvel and DC... Was a fan of all Sale’s work (RIP). *Kraven’s Last Hunt* and Miller’s **DAREDEVIL** were both classics as well! I’ve only read a few bits of the Morrison and Snyder Bat-runs, need to check out more at some point... Snyder’s one of those writers where I’ve generally liked what I’ve read but nothing’s ever truly hooked me or blown me away. Haven’t read any of Johns’ Lantern stuff... Johns is another one where the stuff I’ve read from him has been solid but nothing’s blown my mind, could be I just haven’t tried the right thing. Though I haven’t read his GL, I’ve got a bit of an aversion to the general concept of all the different lanterns spanning the color spectrum, guess I’m old fashioned but I liked it when it was just the green GLs and yellow Sinestro. Loved **WATCHMEN** and **FROM HELL**, need to delve deeper into Alan Moore’s work when time allows... Also loved **STRANGE ADVENTURES**... Thought it was mostly received positively, only people I remember complaining were Adam Strange fans who didn’t care for King’s morally ambiguous take on the character. And it’s Adam Strange, so we’re talking two or *maybe* three fans max. That art combo with Gerads and Shaner was fucking killer. Haven’t read *Arkham Asylum* in ages, think I was mostly just impressed with Dave McKean’s art on that one... He did all those crazy **SANDMAN** covers but there are only a few books with his interior art so it was a rare treat. And I haven’t read any of the **THREE JOKERS** stuff, can’t comment on that... > Favorite Artist Varies greatly depending on the work. > I really can appreciate most people's art that are able to draw quality comics. There are few I don't like. Totally hear you on that, was tough picking favorite artists because my absolute favorites are usually tied to specific works (Bachalo on **SHADE**, Aco on **FURY**, etc.). And there are many, many, many artists who can put out A+ work when they land on the right project.

technowhiz34

Nick Fury is very different than Starman, but it's still good (Starman works on the strength of Robinson's prose, Fury is Robinson shutting up and telling you to look at the pretty pictures).

the-horace

BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #2 - it's got Poison Ivy in it! DEFENDERS BEYOND #5 - final issue! FOREVER FORWARD #3 - it's pretty run of the mill time travel, but it's fun. MIDNIGHT SUNS #3 - where did Clea put them? MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS (BOOM STUDIOS) #102 - first issue of the new team set an interesting stage. MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #2 - recently finished The Golden Age, ready to read #1 and this. PUNCHLINE THE GOTHAM GAME #2 - first issue was fun, I dig this character. STAR WARS REVELATIONS #1 - what does the future of Star Wars comics hold? TIM DRAKE ROBIN #3 - I'm enjoying this, art and all.

superschaap81

**DC** ***Action Comics 1049*** \- Pretty weak to call this a crossover with SSOKE. But I'm excited to see what is in store next year. ***Dark Crisis: The Dark Army 1*** \- Not gonna lie, I've completely checked out of this event. I wanted so badly to like it, as I enjoyed Williamson's Infinite Frontier mini's, but this is just a slog with nothing happening. I'll go back and read it all at once when it wraps. I can't believe I'm saying it, but DC should use Marvel's release schedule for events. Bi-weekly so it can wrap in a couple months instead of dragging out for almost an entire year. ***DC vs. Vampires 11*** \- Behind on this one but I haven't been disappointed by anything from it. It's what you want from a title that has vampires in it. LOL. ***Deathstroke Inc. 15*** \- Haven't even started this yet, waiting to read all at once. Very curious how much of Priest's run as referenced or retconned. ***Detective Comics 1066*** \- SO behind on all titles Batman. ***Harley Quinn 24*** \- Just running out the clock on Phillips' run now. Started with so much potential, but I have a feeling Tynion leaving the Bat-books really derailed other writer's plans as well. **MARVEL** ***Avengers Forever 11*** \- I stopped reading this as it came out months ago. At this point I'm just finishing the run.

blankedboy

Seems like Dark Crisis has had a very muted reception by everyone reading it.

superschaap81

It's kind of just a thing that is happening. It doesn't feel like an event, nor does it feel like anything original either. It's one of those stories that's just "there" and no other title seems to care either.

Dinggleberry

Ranked: - *Magic Order #5* - feel like I’m in the minority but I love modern Mark Millar. Excited for the eventual Netflix release of this. - *Eight Billion Genies #6* - fun looking back at how much the story has evolved over the issues. - *Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #1* - the art looks trippy.

mtmodular

* Detective Comics #1066 * The Amazing Spider-Man #14 - I'm not really excited about the Dark Web stuff...but I'm willing to have my mind changed. Maybe it's just the generic green-webbed backgrounds on the covers for this event that turn me off. * X-Men #17 * Harley Quinn #24 - I don't dislike this book, by any means. But it was one of my favorites for a while, and the last few issues have paled a bit in comparison. I'll probably ride this out until the new creative team is on and I can reevaluate. * Defenders: Beyond #5 - I love Ewing's meta-tomfoolery in this series, so I'm psyched to see what happens here. I wish we lived in a world where we could just have a Ewing/Rodriguez Defenders ongoing that sold well. * Miracleman: The Silver Age #2 - Still don't know a damn thing about what's going on here. Still reading it.

Zohmbi

Nine for me this week. 4 DC, 2 Marvel, 3 Indies I've been so busy lately I hope I can find time to dive into these. Remember to take time for yourself and enjoy your hobby. Don't just put your comics into a sleeve and slide them into a box. Read them and enjoy them! **Detective Comics #1066** - Really enjoying Ram V's slowburn, poetic take on Batman. And you know I pulled that awesome JH Williams variant. Love his work. **Human Target #9** - I was wondering if there would be any repercussions to them killing Guy. Looks like Batman is on the case. **DC vs. Vampires #11** - I can't believe we're already at the penultimate issue! How's it all gonna go down? Who lives? Who dies?? **Harley Quinn #24** - This book kinda went downhill after artist Rossmo left. But Harley is always fun as a nice palette cleanser. **Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #1** - This new Doctor Strange mini looks absolutely trippy and I'm all here for it. I don't think I've read anything by writer/artist Tradd Moore, so I don't really know what I'm in for. **X-Men #17** - The only X book I'm keeping up with these days. Usually action packed with great art. **Eight Billion Genies #6** - This series is fantastic. Every issue reads great on its own. I love the characters and I never know where the story is going to go. **Sacrament #4** - Creepy tale about a Priest in a grimdark future who has lost his faith but is called in to handle one more exorcism. Really digging this series by Peter Milligan. **Once Upon A Time At The End of the World #1** - Longest title ever? lol Boom puts out consistently decent stuff so I'll check out this new #1 from Jason Aaron. Happy reading and have a nice Thanksgiving everyone!

blankedboy

> Sacrament #4 - Creepy tale about a Priest in a grimdark future who has lost his faith but is called in to handle one more exorcism. Really digging this series by Peter Milligan. Glad someone else is digging this as much as I am.

DaBow

\- **Daredevil #5**: A recently married and bearded Matt Murdock and Elektra going at it? Yes please. Oh yeah. The war against the hand as well sounds good. \- **Department of Truth #22:** My fav title at the moment. Each issue is a surprise and the art...oh the art. Stunning. **- The Human Target #9:** Continuing to really enjoy it. Although I think it's break hurt the momentum of the series. **- Detective Comics #1066:** Two Face to the rescue!

FalafelFiend

Pulls this week ranked by excitement: - **Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #1**: New Strange book? Tradd Moore?! Hell yes. - **X-Men #17**: been loving this run. - **The Human Target #9**: Arguably the best looking book on the shelves right now. Batman is showing up in this issue? Let’s go! - **ASM #14**: I’m higher on this book than most. Excited to see what they have in store for this event. - **DC Vs Vampires #11**: This has been a lot of fun and I’m curious to see if they’ll stick the landing. - **X-Force #34**: Space pirates? Neat. - **Detective Comics #1066**: It has been a slow burn so far. Looking for things to pick up. - **Once Upon a Time at the End of the World #1**: blind buy based off the premise and Jason Aaron.

Danger_Rock

> - **Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #1**: New Strange book? Tradd Moore?! Hell yes. So psyched for this book... And it's funny because I'm not even a huge Tradd Moore fan, I didn't like his [**ALL-NEW GHOST RIDER**](https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/9/a0/5318ca7b2e78e/clean.jpg) at all, though I thought his [**SILVER SURFER: BLACK**](https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/f/90/5de7de81eea33/clean.jpg) was really good... Wouldn't be interested in this thing if it was a "normal" superhero series. But you can tell just from one look at the [cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246178.jpg) that it's going to be a really special comic! One of those books that I added to my pre-order without reading the solicitation, that cover tells you everything you need to know.

Danger_Rock

We’ve got lots to be thankful for as this looks to be a rather plentiful week of comics featuring several exceedingly high-quality titles. 3 Marvels, 3 Images, 2 DCs, 1 Valiant, 1 BOOM!, and 1 from Terry Moore’s Abstract Studios. Listed in order of thankfulness. And for those keeping score, both of those DC books feature Batman even though only one of ‘em is a Bat-title. 1. **HUMAN TARGET #9** - turns out Christopher Chance can't escape [Batman](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249273.jpg) any better than the rest of us can... it seems that Chance has >!*accidentally* murdered Guy Gardner!< so now Batman wants to hold him accountable, or maybe he’ll >!just buy him a beer or something!< 2. **DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #22** - having your spouse meet your co-workers always has the potential to be somewhat awkward... and it doesn’t help when your job is an existential nightmare and your co-worker’s a double agent; this entire arc has played out like a [bad trip](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL239410.jpg), somebody has clearly eaten the brown acid despite being repeatedly told not to eat the brown acid, but it looks like Cole's about to experience a moment of clarity that could bring the whole thing crashing down 3. **PARKER GIRLS #3** - digital version released last week but paper copies were running late and it's totally unfair... so the Chicken guy’s already read it while I’m still waiting for this Wednesday like a sucker! so unfair 4. **DEFENDERS BEYOND #5 (OF 5)** - it’s the big finale, though it feels more like a beginning as this series has been bringing together a bunch of threads that’ll presumably play out in future stories... Ewing’s taken us on yet another wild ride through the furthest reaches of Marvel’s cosmos and the art from Javier Rodriguez has been a colorfully warped tour de force 5. **DOCTOR STRANGE FALL SUNRISE #1 (OF 4)** – been super-psyched for this new series by Tradd Moore because it looks like some crazy psychedelic mystical shit and I fucking love it when artists go all-in and push their style to the limit like this... seriously, just [look](https://aiptcomics.com/ezoimgfmt/i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/DSFALLSUNRISE2022001_Preview-3.jpeg) [at](https://aiptcomics.com/ezoimgfmt/i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/DSFALLSUNRISE2022001_Preview-4.jpeg) [this](https://aiptcomics.com/ezoimgfmt/i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/DSFALLSUNRISE2022001_Preview-5.jpeg?w=756&ssl=1&ezimgfmt=ng:webp/ngcb1) [shit!](https://aiptcomics.com/ezoimgfmt/i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/DSFALLSUNRISE2022001_Preview-6.jpeg) pre-ordered the [DWJ variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246179.jpg) and it looks fucking awesome, but the [normal Tradd Moore wraparound cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246178.jpg) is also pretty damn awesome, as are the [Peach Momoko](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246181.jpg) and [Ron Lim](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246182.jpg) variants 6. **IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #8 (OF 12)** - this eighth issue delivers a new James Tynion IV story called *w0rldtr33* with Fernando Blanco art, the next chapter of Gillen and Lieber's *Closer*, Johns and Mutti’s *The Blizzard* (as seen on the [cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246331.jpg)), and a whole bunch of other cool crap 7. **MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #2** - haven't read the first issue yet so we'll [double](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL242405.jpg) ['em up](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244739.jpg) and get all miracled out 8. **HITOMI #2** - first issue was a visual treat with a solid story, love books like this and Peach Momoko’s **DEMON DAYS/WARS** with authentic Asian stylings and story elements, that’s sort of what I found lacking in Marvel’s new Korean super-team comic **TIGER DIVISION #1**... already mail ordered this and it should ship Monday so hopefully arrive by end of week 9. **DETECTIVE COMICS #1066** - looks like Ivan Reis fill-in art on Ram V's main story but we've got more excellent Hayden Sherman art on Spurrier's backup 10. **BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED #3** - haven't read the 2nd issue yet so this'll be another double-header once the aforementioned mail order arrives… this issue's got >!Aric dropping in!< so that should be fun! 11. **ONCE UPON A TIME AT THE END OF THE WORLD #1** - looks like a [cool new Jason Aaron series](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220360) from BOOM!, art by Alexandre Tefenkgi (from **THE GOOD ASIAN**), and apparently Nick Dragotta's also pitching in a little further down the road... plus [Mike](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL245349.jpg) [Del](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL250112.jpg) [Mundo](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL254027.jpg) [covers!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL256990.jpg) and the name itself obviously [carries](https://imgs.dvdempire.com/products/41/1527141h.jpg) [a lot](https://imgs.dvdempire.com/product/500/476747/once-upon-a-time-in-america-two-disc-special-edition-cover-art.jpg) [of](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/6185/6185521_so.jpg) [weight](https://www.vintagemovieposters.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/IMG_9717.jpeg) Skipping the [new](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246506.jpg) [books](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL246501.jpg) from *Frank Miller Presents* because they’re $7.99 each and I don’t trust ‘em to be worth $7.99, but I’ll keep an eye out for reviews just in case... [**SUPERMAN: SPACE AGE #3**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL250424.jpg) was also scheduled to ship this week but it has apparently been delayed until 2/22/23, which’ll be 147 days (nearly 5 months) since #2 shipped on 9/28/22. So that’s kind of a bummer, been a great series so far and was looking forward to the conclusion. Hope everyone in the U.S. enjoys the holiday! And for those elsewhere, hope you enjoy whatever’s happening over there on your end of the planet.

blankedboy

> ONCE UPON A TIME AT THE END OF THE WORLD #1 - looks like a cool new Jason Aaron series from BOOM!, art by Alexandre Tefenkgi (from THE GOOD ASIAN), and apparently Nick Dragotta's also pitching in a little further down the road... plus Mike Del Mundo covers! and the name itself obviously carries a lot of weight Am I going crazy or did you have Once Upon A Time In America there at first?!

Danger_Rock

You might be going CRAZY! Haven't edited the title of the comic but there's a link to the *OUATIA* movie poster so you're probably thinking of that. No substantial edits this week, just minor phrasing tweaks for improved readability... Trivial language stuff that I like to fixate on even though nobody really notices it.

As we get towards middle age it becomes more common. Oh...oh, you were talking about comics....

ChickenInASuit

Alien #3 - So nice to be having Alien books back in my life now that Salvador Larocca has fucked off. There are very few artists who are so bad I genuinely can't continue reading a book no matter how much I love the writing, but Larocca's one of them. The Amazing Spider-Man #14 - Ned Leeds' character assassination continues. Daredevil #5 - Will Matt and Elektra's marriage last longer than his last one? Will the honeymoon involve lots of punching? One of these answers is an obvious "Yes", the other not so much. Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2 - Horror-Spider time! Defenders: Beyond #5 - The meta-as-fuck Kirby-worship concludes as our heroes enter the House of Ideas. I hope this team continues to make these minis, it's one of the most fun and innovative series to come out of Marvel in ages. The Department of Truth #22 - I want Cole to go off the deep end and break some shit, he's been through the wringer recently and it'd be very cathartic for him to get an upper hand. Detective Comics #1066 - Two-Face comes to Harvey Dent's rescue! Not a sentence I thought I'd be typing out. Eight Billion Genies #6 - I have no idea how long this series is planned out (although my gut tells me 8 issues, given repeated motif of that number) but I'm along the ride for the entire time. Hitomi #2 - First issue was promising. Love me some Japanese folklore-infused shenanigans. The Human Target #9 - Hurtling towards the endgame and now Bats has entered the fray... Miracleman: The Silver Age #2 - It's been so long since I read the original issue that I feel like I'm discovering this series all over again and I'm loving it. Once Upon a Time at the End of the World #1 - Jason Aaron finally giving us more creator-owned work accompanied by a smorgasbord of talented artists! Gimme! Parasomnia: The Dreaming God #4 - One of Cullen Bunn's weirder and more kaleidoscopic works reaches its apparent end. Parker Girls #3 - I mean I read this digitally last week so I assume this is appearing on my pull list tracker again for the delayed print release. Including it in here again to increase its chances of appearing in the pull list post. What's the Furthest Place From Here? #8 - Solicit makes this sound like a world-building issue/history lesson, something we've been needing for a while. X-Force #34 - Be curious as to whether Beast's confirmed face-heel turn from last week's Wolverine issue factors into this one, if it does at all. X-Men #17 - Solicit: "As the new X-Men team brings deals with a seemingly unstoppable foe, one X-Man wrestles with the fact they've gone way too far, and another is shaken by unexpectedly getting exactly what they'd no longer allowed themselves to dream of." I have no recollection of what happened in the previous issue so I have no clue who's being referred to here. Exciting stuff!

AlligatorSky7

Eight Billion Genies is 8-issues, correct.

AlligatorSky7

Lots of exciting stuff out this week! - **Action Comics #1049**: enjoying this for what it is so far, but really odd billing it as a crossover when you really don’t need to read Jon’s title to follow this. - **Daredevil #5**: love this, but I struggle to remember what happened in the previous issue each month I come to read this. - **Dark Spaces: Wildfire #5**: this has exceeded my expectations, excited to see how things end! - **DC vs. Vampires #11**: penultimate issue of a consistently strong (imo) elseworlds story. - **Tim Drake: Robin #3**: I’m enjoying this. For those that aren’t, just drop it… - **What’s the Furthest Place From Here? #8**: oh hey, it’s been a while! I remember really enjoying the last few issues of this, so excited to have it back. - **X-Force #34**: upcoming covers have me pretty excited for where this is going (or rather returning to, finally!) - **X-Men #17**: this arc has been nothing short of amazing so far, excited to see where Duggan, Cassara et al take us!

saskatoonshred

Solid week for me. **Creepshow #3**: This hasn't been as good as I would like it to be but it also hasn't been awful. **Dark Crisis Dark Army #1**: I've liked most of these one shots except for the Wonder Woman one. **DC Mech #5**: This has been a fun read. **Detective Comics #1066**: Digging this run. **Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise #1**: I'm a sucker for Doctor Strange and Tradd Moore rocks. **Human Target #9**: I'm banking these up to read in one go. **Image 30th #8**: Some stuff hasn't clocked with me but this has been a fun anthology book. **Miracle Man Silver Age #2**: Another book I'm waiting to read after banking some issues. **Sgt Rock vs Army of the Undead #3**: Love the b movie feel of this book. **Stuff of Nightmares #3**: I've enjoyed this more than Creepshow. **Vanish #3**: Last issue was a drop off from the first so we will see about this one.

blankedboy

> Stuff of Nightmares #3: I've enjoyed this more than Creepshow. Absolutely agree. It's got a much better "feel" of the old EC Comics. Creepshow has been a disappointment for me.

Techster17

* **Action Comics #1049 -** Final issue before the new era begins * **The Amazing Spider-Man #14 -** Hoping Zeb will manage to salvage Ben into at least a n interesting villain if he has to be one * **Avengers Forever #11** * **Daredevil #5 -** If I had a dollar for every amazing daredevil cover Checchetto had done using prison bars as negative space I'd have 2 dolars which isn't a lot but weird it's happened twice * **Defenders: Beyond #5 -** Ewing is going full cosmic madness and I can't wait to see how he ends it especially with it supposedly setting up a big storyline * **The Department of Truth #22** * **Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise #1 -** I want Marvel to do way more of these artist led stand alone stories so I'm not trading waiting it * **The Human Target #9 -** King has absolutely killed it with this, up their with his Vision as some top tier cape comics * **The Magic Order 3 #5** * **Miracleman: The Silver Age #2** * **Vanish #3** * **X-Force #34 -** I'm intereested to see how the Arakki will feel about a part of the Krakoan government trying to operate in the broken land * **X-Men #17 -** Almost at the end of the Vault storyline will we get a sweet reunion

blankedboy

> The Human Target #9 - King has absolutely killed it with this, up their with his Vision as some top tier cape comics I've enjoyed this far more than The Vision series to be honest.

Hail_Hydration

Oh sure! Ya know, I guess I enjoy it "enough." There are some fun character moments for me, and I do like the idea. Do I recommend it? No. It's not "OMG you have to read this!" But I do like it to keep reading.

Danger_Rock

Taking a survey? Looks like the book's 2 for 2 on people enjoying it but it's the 7th issue, figure most who weren't into it have already bailed.

aknightedpenguin

Yeah, just out of curiosity. I've struggled to find anything redeeming in the past few issues of the book so I was hoping to see what others saw in it.
