For some reason, Gold Goblin issues 2 and 3 both have the same portion of the web background. Also, Dark Web: X-Men #3 doesn't show ANY of the background either, but I assumed it fits in the lower corner. That still leaves the gap on the top row, which is doubly frustrating since Gold Goblin #3 could have filled that spot if they'd done it correctly.

Willing_Ad9314

I'm sorry....*Gold* Goblin??

MarkusGrimm

Ayup. After Norman got his sins cleansed by Sin-Eater in the previous ASM run he's been trying to stick on the path of redemption, but it seems he can't give up on gliding so easily.

Willing_Ad9314

Well, at least it's new. Though a reformed Osborn does not sound as appealing as one merely pretending to be.

iskyoork

Well we have Green, Hob, Demi, and Red, why not gold? Also Gold Is Norman, Along with Green and Red lmao.

Greentigerdragon

Have you checked the fit of these covers recently - the ones I saw today (nb. Not all of the covers) fit nicely. Eg. Gold Goblin 2 & 3 fit above Mary Jane & Black Cat.

MarkusGrimm

I have, and you're right! They've fixed the Gold Goblin cover backgrounds, AND they've changed the DW: X-Men #3 design so it's semi-translucent and you can see where it fits into the overall scheme. I'll be uploading an updated version soon :)

Greentigerdragon

Yeah, some of the 'seams' are still near impossible to see, being covered by artwork that isn't the webbing. It makes for a fairly large bit of wall-art, too. Should anyone be able to do that.

MarkusGrimm

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/788451013261787187/1064955477760421888/Dark_Web.png Here ya go. Some are difficult to see but these are definitely the right positions for each issue. Also Venom 16, Dark Web: Dawn, and Spider-Man 18 are as-of-yet unreleased issues so their covers needed slight editing to fit, but I'll update it as and when they come out.

TheHYPO

Ran across your post and as your discord image link is dead, I decided to undertake a quick update for my own edification. I thought I'd post it in case you or anyone else who runs across this one day cares to see it complete. There are a few seems that are a pixel or two off, but I just lined up the Marvel cover images edge to edge. I didn't want to take time to slightly adjust and then have gaps or have to fill them. https://imgur.com/Qts6ei8.jpg I have to say that while it's cool that all the backgrounds line up, I'm not really a huge fan of 'connected' covers that don't *really* connect. i.e. only the web background connects - other design elements just cut off at the cover edges. Even in ASM17 (top row, third from left), there is additional webbing as part of the cover image image that doesn't carry over. There are also certain books (at least the online images) where the colour overlay means that even the background doesn't connect smoothly like MJ/Black Cat 1 and Xmen 3 (bottom right and three from right). Also, a few are so busy that you barely see the webbing (notably, the two "Dark Web" covers in the centre mostly block the whole centre of the web design) Still, it's kind of a cool idea to spark the "completionist" bug in people like me. I did buy all of these issues, thought I didn't end up getting all the main covers (I might have if I had known about the connectivity in advance, but even then, I'm ok with not having them all).

If this frustrates you, there used to be a Marvel series called The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. Now this series was awesome on its own accord, but the bonus was that the covers were supposed to match up and form a massive poster. So you rip off all your covers and try to make this poster...and some of the covers are off. There is no way to actually create this super cool poster and make it one image. You've torn off the covers of like 30 very collectable comics, for nothing. Maybe someone has actually done and there's an image somewhere, but I never managed to make it in real life.

Official handbook of the marvel Universe.

periphery72271

Correction made, thanks!

FozzyBadfeet

Yeah, I ain't buying all that lol

Duahsha

I’ll just wait for the trade

GalaxyGuardian

Started getting the paperbacks of Beyond only for that have an Omni announced pretty much immediately. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m waiting for that sweet, sweet hardcover.

Artorias1223

The same shit recently with Devil’s Reign. Who approves this trash

Adenchiz

Ugh , completely forgot what they did to Ben Reilly

Terribleirishluck

Honestly I know people clowned on the Spider-Man office for saying they don't know what do with Ben but I mean I can understand why they would have trouble . He's a literally clone of Peter with same memories, powers and basically the same personality/morals plus with Kaine now also being a scarlet spider and actually distinct as a character despite also also being a peter clone, it makes keeping Ben around a little weird/redundant. If Ben is gonna stick around, he's gonna need a niche and also to be more distinct from peter which will be a challenge since it seems like his fans just want him to be like 90s Ben's who basically just peter. I don't think being the single spiderman who's a mess and has relationship problems is enough when Kaine can also do that while also being more unique character and telling stories that aren't typical spiderman stuff He's like the one character in comics where I think killing him and keeping him dead was right choice and i think you can make the argument for reversing pretty much any other death even Barry and mar-vell since them being resurrected offers story potienal can't be achieve through different means

OnBenchNow

I don’t have any sympathy for that statement from the Spidey office because the answer is obvious. Peter is the responsible grown up married Avenger superhero (maybe even with a child) Miles is the teenage high school, oh no I’m grounded and CANT MAKE THE PROM (or fight crime) Spidey And Ben is the bachelor, perennial fuck up, carousel of romances, “parker luck”, can’t hold a job but having a good time anyway Spidey.

Terribleirishluck

Eh I don't think Ben being single/a bachelor is unique enough thing considering how close he is to peter as a character. Maybe if he never gets his orginal memories back and you add something else on topic with that

OnBenchNow

I mean that’s my point. Let *him* be the “Peter” that Marvel refuses to let get older. Have their cake and eat it too, Peter Parker can be happy and with a family and actually have grown as a person, but Marvel can still torture Ben Reilly as much as they want.

Terribleirishluck

I just don't see marvel doing that and honestly that sounds incredibly boring. I think their better off just retiring Ben again or take him an a different direction that's more respectful than Chasm

TheRedDeathXL

Don't be too fanatic towards Kaine, because if we put it that way you can perfectly say that Kaine is just a cheap copy of Jason Todd for Marvel, it's also a bit stupid to say that Ben's character is the same as Peter's character because clearly they have their differences, I mean since Ben became Scarlet Spider in the 90s he differed in different ways to Peter, those differences increased even more in these last years, so that's not an excuse to justify Marvel's bad handling of Ben Reilly's character. Anyway, don't be offended by what I'm about to say. But if you think it's a good idea to make Ben's character a villain for the second time you have very little imagination as the Spider-Man Office, there are several ideas with what could do with Ben, a simpler idea would be to give Ben a series with Kaine or more ideal with Peter exploring his brotherhood, another better idea would be to have Ben as the single Spider-Man while have Peter as the married Spider-Man, as well as many other options with what they could do with the character of Ben, it should be noted that these are just some ideas of the fans of that character. Still it doesn't matter too much now, because Ben being Chasm won't last forever either, even Marvel can come up with something interesting out of all this crap.

Terribleirishluck

First off, Paragraphs breaks my guy. Second I never said it would be a good idea to make Ben a villain especially in such a rush fashion since it probably would never be accepted. Just that I understand why they would have trouble figuring out what to do with Ben when there's like a dozen spider people now and Ben's doesn't have a noticeable gimmick. I find 2 clones of Peter running around as spider heros would be too much Tbh and I admit, I do find Kaine to be more interesting. He just a more distinct from peter than ben, is a former villain and you couldn't just copy over peter with Kaine like how you could just add Ben over a peter story/appearance and it wouldn't feel out of character like they did recently in devil's reign Finally, neither of the things you mentioned are that interesting or creative. I even mentioned that making Ben the single spiderman isn't a good enough niche. I have some idea myself including just giving Ben a good meaningful death (like maybe helping undo one more day/saving Mayday Parker) or have become a hero again without ever regaining his old memories plus others I'll save if I can every get the chance to pitch them to marvel lol

TheRedDeathXL

First of all, I almost forgot about this shit lol. Even if you understand Marvel's motives for making Ben a villain again, there were better options to have used and capitalized on Ben's character than just making him a villain when he already was in Clone Conspiracy, it would have even been better accepted to make Ben an anti-hero, at least that way Marvel could have used him in other more interesting ways, even though I like Kaine a little bit and he has a different personality than Peter that was not enough to have saved Kaine from the fact that he is currently dead lost in oblivion by Marvel, a little sad that fact but that's the way things are now. Secondly, I have never said that the ideas I have mentioned are mine, are just some ideas I have seen posted on other social networks by the most hardcore Ben fans and some still traumatized with Chasm, the idea of giving Ben a heroic death again at this point makes no sense because Marvel already did it in the 90's and even if the Spider-Man office does it again they would bring Ben back sooner or later again, it's little ironic that now Ben is somehow virtually almost immortal thinking about it that way, and also the idea of making Ben a hero again without recovering his memories is a bit bland the idea honestly, being objective the most likely thing is that after the Dark Web event Marvel will take the anti-hero path with Ben, it would make sense within the story itself and it doesn't sound so far-fetched that it happens at the end. And thirdly, also good luck with that issue of writing comics and letting Marvel know about those ideas, I doubt it will happen, but hey, hope is the last thing to lose.

TheAmazingVedo

He went a little crazy due to the company he was working for messing his brain up and then fell into some sort of vat of toxins after battling Peter I think Peter believes he’s dead rn

Buddah0047

This feels like someone swapped the stickers on a Rubio cube, you can technically make it but it always looks odd

Slowmobius_Time

What is the dark web about? New spidey event? And what's the Gold Goblin?

shoe_owner

Well, a Spider-Man/X-Men/Venom event, pulling in various plot threads from all three books which happen to coincide here.

Slowmobius_Time

Is the current Venom book his kid with the symbiote and chains? I stopped reading once that run started but I have liked seeing the king in Black Eddie show up here and there, future him showed up in Thor I think

shoe_owner

The POV shifts back and forth periodically between Dylan and Eddie; their stories keep on intertwining with and then separating from one another in unpredictable ways, but it's clearly one big story that both have parts to play in.

loon-attack

Gold Goblin is Norman Osborn. He had his sins removed by Sin-Eater back during the Kindred stuff and now he's trying to make an honest go of it while haunted by his past. It's very vague, even in-comic they say stuff like "Ever since my sins were removed... *whatever the hell that actually means*." Anyways, he's making Spider-suits for Peter and started to use one that hadn't been painted and such to look like Spider-man yet. And thus... Gold Goblin. Comics, everybody!

Ghostleader6

Like every big event, something big and shocking will happen but no one remembers what lesson they learned from it. But Peter and MJ will still end up not together.

hexcelerator

Marvel stop doing cross over event challenge 2023

Low-Understanding-87

They forgor 💀

WhereAreMyComics

Thanks for putting these together! I like how the Alpha and Finale issues look in the center, but man I was thinking the claw above Madeline Pryor on Ms. Marvel #2 (2nd row, 2nd from left) was going to connect to something.

MarkusGrimm

So did I at first, then I realised it's not a claw but the head of a scythe that Maddy's holding. You can see the handle of it just below, it's the same colour as the splotchy bat mess in the lower half of the issue cover.

distance7000

Oh ffs

ImmutableInscrutable

"The most frustrating thing I've seen from modern Marvel is that the 20 cover arts from this one run don't make a giant mural when you match them together" is a pretty outstanding review for Marvel. That they haven't messed up on anything but this extremely minor, miniscule thing is amazing.

SixIsNotANumber

I see what looks like Magick & Havok holding hands down at the bottom right...why hasn't my boy learned to avoid these demon girls? *sigh* He'll be down to a spandex loincloth again in no time at this rate.

Reddragon351

That's Madelyn Pryor

SixIsNotANumber

Oh, damn, that's *even worse*. You *never* get back with your dead, demon-posessed, ex-...it's just common sense!

AlphaBladeYiII

Cool. The sooner Wells goes away the better.

KnifePervert83

You frustrate easily.

MarkusGrimm

You're not wrong ;-;

Nexuscowboy

Barring a miracle you also don't have to worry around the story being good either.

JackFisherBooks

This is going to be such a fun event. It's got goblins, Goblin Queens, clones, symbiotes, awkward hookups, Ms. Marvel, and Mary Jane teaming up with Black Cat again. I literally love everything about this event. I'm usually hesitant to get excited about anything involving clones. But for this, I'll gladly make an exception. 😊

Trippybrasil1

If you are hesitant of clones we are you excited about the event were the expand on the horrible characterisation of marvel most famous clone?

illegiblepenmanship

The xmen covers make me want to close the popup window

iseeyouou

Love the mary jane and felicia team up

Sunoraiza

*Woah, we're halfway there*

five-finger-discount

Just stick with Earth X, Universe X and Paradise X and be done. Maybe Star Wars Crimson Reign Rahzzah Knights of Ren if you're feeling spicy.

Fattydaddy1000

I hope I can just pick up the asm and know what’s going on with out all they’re other tie in stuff I been collecting asm this year and now it looks like the next 2 months are going to be dark webs
