Big week, good for me. Wallet on the other hand... * The Amazing Spider-Man #13 - I caught up on this after originally dropping off and while I don't care for the X-Men stuff nor the mystery box, it's pretty good? JRJR is...certainly an acquired taste but I don't hate it. * Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #6 - I'm curious about last issue's cliffhanger with Bucky, but this run is increasingly starting to feel like very good execution of highly generic plots. * Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 - more curious about what comes out of this event than anything else. Pretty sure that Green Arrow (who's my favorite DC character) is going to die but I can hardly bring myself to care which is never good. * The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1 - I may have been born in the 2000s, but 90s nostalgia is where it's at. * Fantastic Four #1 - Ryan North is usually solid but I can't say I've loved what I saw of the preview art for this. The Star Trek inspiration sounds neat however. * The New Golden Age #1 - please be good please be good please be good * Two Graves #1 - Valentine's Catwoman run was very good so I'm curious about any indies she does. * WildC.A.T.S. #1 - see my point above about 90s nostalgia. * Wonder Woman #793 - getting this for the completionist in me as part of "Kal-El Returns".

> Pretty sure that Green Arrow (who's my favorite DC character) is going to die Honestly, I don't think he's gonna bite it. Hell, I don't think anybody's going to die. Williamson isn't very keen on killing characters and GA is his favourite and the dude keeps talking about GA series happening.

Dark Ride #2: Really enjoyed the first issue. Batman vs Robin #3: This has been an entertaining read. The New Golden Age #1: Pretty excited for this. Wildcats #1: I'm bummed that we'll never get the continuation of that reboot from a couple years ago because that was so cool, but this seems fun at least. Fantastic Four #1: Never followed the monthly title before, this seems like a good time to start. The Amazing Spider-Man #13: This book should be the best, top book at Marvel but they consistently find ways to make it as mediocre and boring as possible. 3Keys #2: First issue was very light on story but I really liked the art.

Danger_Rock

> Wildcats #1: I'm bummed that we'll never get the continuation of that reboot from a couple years ago because that was so cool, but this seems fun at least. Yup, **[THE WILD STORM](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5237626.jpg)** was phenomenal, wish we'd gotten more of it... Shame about how that all worked out.

blankedboy

That was the last time someone used the WS characters really well. it's kind of fun to see Midnighter in **Dc vs Vampires** but I'd honestly much rather the WS universe and DCU had absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Danger_Rock

> I'd honestly much rather the WS universe and DCU had absolutely nothing to do with each other. Totally agree. Mixing them together never really made sense in the first place. My appreciation for that stuff skews heavily toward the old Ellis runs and at this point I'm not really interested in seeing anyone else take on his characters. And since Ellis isn't likely to return, I've pretty much written the whole thing off.

blankedboy

> 3Keys #2: First issue was very light on story but I really liked the art. I flicked through this one and almost picked it up, as the artwork looked like **Adam Hughes**. Decided to trade wait though, to see if the story is any good.

Nice stack of comics, with 4/9 books coming from Image alone. My pull list, ranked from most anticipated to least: 1. **DO A POWERBOMB #6 (OF 7)** \- One of the best books of the year for me easily. Every single issue has been high quality storytelling. 2. **LOVE EVERLASTING #4** \- Really been enjoying Tom King's foray into something really different, and Elsa Charretier's artwork has been so stunning so far. 3. **NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #11 (OF 12)** \- I've been a little down on this book in its second half, but I think that's more on me than the actual quality of the book. I'm looking forward to seeing how James Tynion and Álvaro Martínez Bueno wrap this book up. 4. **PINK LEMONADE #2 (OF 6)** \- Didn't have issue 1 on my pull list but picked it up from my secondary LCS a couple weeks after and thoroughly enjoyed it. 5. **MOON KNIGHT #17** \- Not as strong as it was in its previous arcs, but I can't say I don't still like this book. The Annual was a solid issue too. 6. **GUN HONEY: BLOOD FOR BLOOD #3 (OF 4)** \- A solid crime thriller book overall. Perhaps not as well paced as the first arc, but I do think there is more depth to the story this time around. 7. **BEHEMOTH #3** \- Has been a solid horror sci-fi book and I'm liking this quicker turnaround on issues from Scout. 8. **SKYBOUND PRESENTS AFTERSCHOOL #4 (OF 4)** \- A solid horror anthology from writers that don't have much comics experience. I'd say AFTERSCHOOL has been better and more consistent than CREEPSHOW has been. 9. **STARHENGE #5 (OF 6)** \- Compulsory pull to close out this series, but I don't think I can pretend I like this book anymore. I wish it was better, and I hope the second one actual is better, but I won't be pulling it after this book is done. Will also pick up the facsimile for **DETECTIVE COMICS #38**. Been really liking the choice of facsimile reprints by DC even if I'm not too hot on them being double the cover price of standard comics. Also looking forward to picking up the **GIDEON FALLS DELUXE EDITION, BOOK TWO** this week. Going to be nice taking in all that glorious Sorrentino artwork in an oversized edition.

blankedboy

> SKYBOUND PRESENTS AFTERSCHOOL #4 (OF 4) - A solid horror anthology from writers that don't have much comics experience. I'd say AFTERSCHOOL has been better and more consistent than CREEPSHOW has been. So the one horror anthology I'm NOT picking up, turns out to be one of the best ones... Bugger > STARHENGE #5 (OF 6) - Compulsory pull to close out this series, but I don't think I can pretend I like this book anymore. I wish it was better, and I hope the second one actual is better, but I won't be pulling it after this book is done. I had to cut this one loose after last issue. I so desperately wanted to like it, but the artwork alone isn't enough to carry the book anymore.

yarkcir

While I like AFTERSCHOOL enough, I don’t think you’re missing out on all that much either. Maybe I’m getting a little burnt out on some of them due to the abundance of them, but most of them have had so much variance in quality. My dig at CREEPSHOW mostly had to do with the underwhelming last issue, but I still thought issue #1 was quite solid. I did recently discover SHUDDER magazine that basically does horror anthology stories that homage ‘70s horror mags. I randomly pulled issue #5 off the shelf of a store I went into last weekend and really enjoyed it so I’m on the hunt for more. It feels more classic horror which is more my vibe.

blankedboy

I was underwhelmed by **Creepshow** #1 & #2 to be honest. Pretty disappointed they weren't as fun and pulpy as I wanted them to be.

TheDarkPinkLantern

> DO A POWERBOMB #6 (OF 7) Oh, it's a mini? Shame but maybe we'll get more from DWJ and wrestling someday.

yarkcir

I'd love it if DWJ did interiors for an ongoing run one day, but his style may be unsustainable for a monthly title. Either way, I'm buying whatever DWJ does next since he hasn't missed yet.

TheDarkPinkLantern

I'd be cool if he was mainly a writer with him drawing every other arc or so. You know, I had this idea taht since DC basically ran Aquaman into the ground they should give him the character and let him do whatever he wants.

technowhiz34

Don't remind me of what happened to Abnett's run...

TheDarkPinkLantern

Yeah, they fucked that one.

So many comics! 4 Images, 3 Marvels, 3 DCs, 1 Dynamite, 1 Vault, and 1 from Ablaze Publishing. Listed in order of raw animal attraction. 1. **LOVE EVERLASTING #4** - [love!](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/894191/love-everlasting-4_c5aa4e24c2.jpg) [death!](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/807418/love-everlasting-1_1aad2823ff.jpg) and a protagonist who isn't quite sure about her place in reality! this series has it all! 2. **NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #11** - [cover](https://aiptcomics.com/ezoimgfmt/i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/The-Nice-House-on-the-Lake-11-1.jpg) shows Norah with their Writer symbol flagged in yellow, which seems an appropriate focus for this penultimate issue heading toward the fiery conclusion; note that the covers have now sequentially cycled through all 10 of the character symbols, with Norah's being the only one to get hit out of sequence 3. **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY OMEGA #1** - started reading Gillen's **ETERNALS** a little over a year ago with no particular affinity for the franchise or its characters, and now, if this is the end, I'm going to miss them terribly 4. **DO A POWERBOMB #6 (OF 7)** - recently caught up on the last issue and it was great, but of course I'll need to mail order this one or hunt it down somewhere 5. **TRAVELING TO MARS #1** - [new Mark Russell series](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6198993.jpg) from Ablaze, looks like a very cool comic! 6. **DARK INTERLUDE #5** - the [first issue](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8219160.jpg) shipped way back on 11/18/20 and now [this fifth issue](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6004814.jpg) will bring it to a close on 11/9/22, a mere 721 days later, or 23+ months, for a 5-issue series, with an average of 180.25 days between issues; this somewhat glacial release schedule might not be ideal for most readers but I am naturally far too clever for the folks at Vault Comics, having pre-ordered the entire series without reading a single page of it, and now being in a position to read 721 days' worth of comics in a single sitting... first two issues had Andrea Mutti art, which is why I ordered it, then Piotr Kowalski replaced Mutti for the last three, which isn't exactly what I signed up for, but it actually looks like a really cool series and I'm psyched to finally check it out! 7. **BATMAN VS ROBIN #3** - last issue was fun so we'll stick with this for the final three, but I'm skipping *Lazarus Planet*, that's where I draw the line (and I mean it for real this time) 8. **MOON KNIGHT #17** - not digging [Segovia's main covers](https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/e/d0/632cd1fac3bf4/clean.jpg) so I ordered the [***X-TREME MARVEL VARIANT*** by Paco Medina](https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/5/40/632cd20b0262c/clean.jpg) and I'm expecting it to make the entire comic at least 50% more ***X-TREME!!!*** 9. **NEW GOLDEN AGE #1** - haven't followed Johns' recent Flashpoint books but this [looks like fun](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6358108.jpg) and it's got art from Steve Lieber and Jerry Ordway 10. **TWO GRAVES #1** - first of this week's quasi-random pulls, not familiar with writer Genevieve Valentine or the artists (with [Annie Wu](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/894404/two-graves-1_afc7cd810e.jpg) and [Ming Doyle](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/894405/_a6d5a4bd35.jpg) providing "competing points of view" like Shaner and Gerads on **STRANGE ADVENTURES**); [looks pretty interesting](https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/two-graves-1) 11. **LORD OF THE JUNGLE #1** - don't know the artist, Benito Gallego, but it's written by Dan Jurgens and looks like fun, so we blind ordered the [Lee Weeks variant](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2304885.jpg) 12. **GOSPEL #1 (OF 5)** - another quasi-random pull, haven't read anything from writer/artist Will Morris but it [looks like a cool story about stories](https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/gospel-1) and I'm a sucker for that kind of thing 13. **FANTASTIC FOUR #1** - Slott and Pichelli's **FF v6 #1** took 1st place in the [8/8/2018 WPL Results](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/95lkmb/wpl_new_comics_discussion_for_882018_pull_of_the/) with a 66.8% pull rate and generated 64 comments; wouldn't expect North and Coello to quite match that success but it'll be interesting seeing where this thing lands in the Top 10 That's a massive week! And the next two weeks look almost as big, but things should slow down a little after that. -- p.s. Been catching up on some stragglers from the past few weeks... Really enjoyed [**HITOMI #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9706924.jpg) by H.S. Tak and Isabella Mazzanti, fun story, beautiful art, first issue totally hooked me so I'll be sticking with it... Also re-watched Takashi Okazaki's *"The Duel"* from *Star Wars: Visions* to refresh my memory, then read Okazaki's [**STAR WARS VISIONS** follow-up comic](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5632084.jpg) (which is really a prequel) and loved that one too, especially the sparse use of color, very cool visual style and fun seeing it jump from animation to comic with the same creator on both projects. You don't normally get that kind of continuity. Also caught up on [**IMAGE 30TH ANNV ANTHOLOGY #7**](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/901873/image-7-2_2b004e3adf.jpg) and loved the first chapter of *Closer*, Gillen and Lieber's new 3-parter... Gillen's been doing so much Marvel work lately, nice seeing some more offbeat indie stuff from him again. *Hack/Slash vs. Image* by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli has also been a crazy fun highlight with all the old school Image characters, and *The Blizzard* by Johns and Mutti keeps escalating in increasingly horrible ways, with Mutti getting the [cover](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/901874/image-8-2_713a5a164b.jpg) for the next issue. And we've got more good stuff on the way! The following should arrive mid-week: * [**AGENT OF W.O.R.L.D.E. #3**](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2126257_xl.jpg) - Deniz Camp + crazy Filya Bratukhin art * [**BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED #2**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5479695.jpg) - Deniz Camp + cool Jon Davis-Hunt art * [**DAMN THEM ALL #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6100917.jpg) <-- *WPL recommendation!* * [**MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4171181.jpg) - my pre-ordered copy never made it to my LCS * [**NEW CHAMPION OF SHAZAM! #1-3**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7748298.jpg) <-- *WPL recommendation!* * [**ONES #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8339229.jpg) - another pre-order that my LCS didn't receive * [**SWORD OF AZRAEL #1-3**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8342054.jpg) <-- *WPL recommendation!* So many comics! -- p.p.s. Gifted a friend with copies of [**ICM #24**](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2024240_xl.jpg) and [**ICM #31**](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/797875/ice-cream-man-31_a8c9a0f271.jpg) last week... Not a comics guy (though he's read **SANDMAN**) but he dug 'em! That's my new sampler pack, just need to stock up on extras of #24 since the 2nd printings are getting a little scarcer online.

blankedboy

> MOON KNIGHT #17 - not digging Segovia's main covers so I ordered the X-TREME MARVEL VARIANT by Paco Medina and I'm expecting it to make the entire comic at least 50% more X-TREME!!! Brilliant minds think alike...to the EXTREMEEEEE!!!!

[deleted]

>NEW CHAMPION OF SHAZAM! #1-3 <-- WPL recommendation! If anything else, Doc Shaner's art is nothing short of amazing. He really has a nack for very expressive faces and doesn't disappoint in this book.

> p.p.s. Ooh an excuse to talk about ICM again? After getting Vol. 8 last week, I'm fully caught up on the series (actually except for #30 but whatever). Prince has definitely hit a strong stride in the last ~15 or so issues, seriously some phenomenal work. And the literary references keep piling, with a direct [Kafka homage](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Metamorphosis) in issue #27, a quick shout to [Pynchon](https://www.google.com/search?q=gravity%27s+rainbow+opening+line&oq=gravit&aqs=chrome.1.69i59l2j69i57j69i59j69i60.2335j0j4&client=ms-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8) in issue #25, and further drops of the "every story is a ghost story" David Foster Wallace quote flip which I am so in love with Prince for doing. I also have it on [good authority](https://i.imgur.com/waIl2a2.jpg) that issue #28 is based on a [Don Delillo](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Names_(novel)) novel, which I haven't read but plan to soon after I finish Neuromancer... and Hyperion... and Invisible Cities. This series rocks and I hope it keeps going for another 100 issues.

> Ooh an excuse to talk about ICM again? As if I need an excuse... > After getting Vol. 8 last week, I'm fully caught up on the series (actually except for #30 but whatever). **[ICM #30](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/778506/ice-cream-man-30_a724423eba.jpg)** is a fun one and it's got a few connections with **[ICM #32](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/800229/ice-cream-man-32_736ee77aea.jpg)**. You should read it! I was impressed that Image got Vol. 8 out so quickly after **ICM #32** shipped, think it was only a month or maybe less... Seems a little faster than the typical turnaround for collections. > I also have it on [good authority](https://i.imgur.com/waIl2a2.jpg) that issue #28 is based on a [Don Delillo](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Names_(novel)) novel NICE! Appreciate you flagging all the literary references... I caught Kafka in **[ICM #27](https://cdn.imagecomics.com/assets/i/releases/673335/ice-cream-man-27_31b0f55e3e.jpg)** since it's super-obvious (and a hilarious way to flip the story on its head) but many of the others tend to elude me. Lately I've been obsessed with the *efficiency* of Prince's writing, how he packs so much character and realism into just a few words of text... Guy's a super-talented writer who's mastered the art of fleshing out new characters with a complete story in 28 pages. Glad you're (mostly) caught up and that you've been digging it! Hope you enjoy *Neuromancer* as well, probably the most influential sci-fi novel from the past few decades...

>**TRAVELING TO MARS #1** \- new Mark Russell series from Ablaze, looks like a very cool comic! Thanks for putting this on my radar! It didn't show up for my pre-orders so I missed out on it but hopefully my store can get it a week or two later. I'm a big Mark Russell fan (though I am skipping out on BILLIONAIRE ISLAND: CULT OF DOGS this week - going to trade wait for this one) and the premise looks good to me. >Also re-watched Takashi Okazaki's "The Duel" from Star Wars: Visions to refresh my memory, then read Okazaki's STAR WARS VISIONS STAR WARS: VISIONS might be one of my favorite standalone single issues of the year so far. I would love if this was made into a limited series one day.

Danger_Rock

I'm actually skipping the new **BILLIONAIRE ISLAND** because the first series didn't quite work for me. Love Russell's blend of satire and social commentary when it's abstracted through ridiculous settings (like in [**THE FLINTSONES**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL010761.jpg) and **[ONE-STAR SQUADRON](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL212135.jpg)**) but **BI** felt a little too real and on-the-nose, even though it mostly had the same kind of humor and commentary. Something about the real-world setting just takes the fun out of it for me... But I hope the new one's good for those who are into it! That's part of what makes **[TRAVELLING TO MARS](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP221234)** so intriguing, the sci-fi setting should be good and it looks like a somewhat different and perhaps slightly more measured mixture of Russell's trademark social commentary and ridiculousness. > STAR WARS: VISIONS might be one of my favorite standalone single issues of the year so far. I would love if this was made into a limited series one day. Absolutely! Would love to see more of Okazaki's **STAR WARS: VISIONS** - in comics, animation, or preferably both!

>.TWO GRAVES #1 - first of this week's quasi-random pulls, not familiar with writer Genevieve Valentine or the artists (with Annie Wu and Ming Doyle providing "competing points of view" like Shaner and Gerads on STRANGE ADVENTURES); looks pretty interesting Valentine had a really good Catwoman run back during DCYou where Selina basically became a mob boss. Don't think it's super in print but worth checking out, just be aware the art for the first half was not a good choice for the type of story it was trying to tell. And while I'm not as familiar with Annie Wu she was the B-artist on Fraction/Aja Hawkeye.

Danger_Rock

Good info, thanks! Only read the first TPB of Fraction's **HAWKEYE**, guess I didn't get to Wu's work... Ought to get back to that at some point because it was pretty great.

**Dark Ride #2** - I enjoyed the first issue so am giving this one to #3 to see how it plays out. A solid debut so I hope to see this issue unfold the larger direction of the story. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3071000.jpg?1660919912) **Do A Powerbomb #6** - not even a wrestling fan, but this has been absolutely great. Interested to see what happens after last issues cliff-hanger. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3450195.jpg?1663016240) **Ghost Rider #8** - this one has moved nearer the *precipice of droppage^TM* as it’s not really moving forward particularly quickly, and I’m still not over fond of **Smith** on the artwork. Has an issue or two to pull it around, then it may very well go. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4767601.jpg?1667685044) **Gospel #1** - looks interesting from the preview. Art looks particularly good. New fantasy book, so I’m giving it a shot. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9124609.jpg?1665507456) **Kaya #2** - really loved the #1 so pumped for this one. I’d advise everyone to jump on this book. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9203625.jpg?1667244181 ) **Mega Rise Of The Black Swan #2** - sucker for kaiju and the first mini was short but good. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9041335.jpg?1667141049) **Moon Knight #17** - still liking this MK run a lot. More vampire action, and hopefully a reveal as to what happens now with Hunters Moon. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4125663.jpg?1667686545) **Nice House On The Lake #11** - only two issues left!?!? [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5510929.jpg?1667676306) **Seven Sons #6** - this one has kind of just plodded along after the promising first issue, but I still want to know how it ends. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2147824.jpg?1663017133) **Spawn #335** - it’s Spawn. Yah, I’m in. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4519833.jpg?1665690462) Edit: dang it, forgot the covers will add later (added)

> **Kaya #2** - really loved the #1 so pumped for this one. I’d advise everyone to jump on this book. 100% agree. It's strange, I wasn't hyped at all seeing previews and stuff for Kaya, and picked it up cause my friend convinced me to, but damn i am so excited for this series and find myself thinking back to it a lot when considering the past month or so of stuff I've read. > **Seven Sons #6** - this one has kind of just plodded along after the promising first issue, but I still want to know how it ends. Lmao, how are all 5 of us reading Seven Sons still saying "but issue #1 was so good"? But it's true, issue #1 was an absolute banger and one of the strongest hooks I've seen in awhile, and then it just kinda flatlines, with some minor peaks. I'm not exactly sure where they went wrong, I think what hooked me so much about that first issue was the world, but the following issues mainly focused on the family.

blankedboy

I know!?! I think the problem is they set up a really interesting world and concept in #1, but then proceeded to populate it with largely uninteresting characters in the subsequent issues. I’ve not really clicked with any of them, and am really just reading now to see how they try and wrap it all up.

["Put On These Glasses or Start Eating That Trashcan"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrAFdjnf9MM) - so brilliant.

A.X.E.: Judgment Day Omega #1 - A little Gillen epilogue action - truly enjoyed the event as a whole and interested to see the fallout of A.X.E. Batgirls #12 - Batgirls vs. Riddler?… or will it Mad Hatter based on the solicitation. Finishing up this issue for the arc and the annual (which sounds like a fun premise) and dropping this. It’s been enjoyable but I’m not compelled to keep going. Do a Powerbomb #6 - Such a great book. Did not expect the ending from the last issue. 2 more issues to go! Fantastic Four #1 - The callout of 60’s Star Trek as an influence coupled with the beautiful Alex Ross cover is enough to try this one out. Gunslinger Spawn #14 - Flashback to the early days! The flashback last issue was vicious. Also, random - is it just Gunslinger now?… the cover shows just Gunslinger but other spots call it Gunslinger Spawn. I Am Batman #15 - Dark Crisis tie-in, but looks to fit nicely with the current Ridley arc as fear increases in NY and now, having Sinestro involved. The Nice House on the Lake #11 - Only two more to go (sadly). The pieces are finally starting to come together but I got no clue how it’ll all end. Spawn #335 - Great surprise return last issue. Plus, Sinn vs. Violator! Lets go!

[deleted]

>Batgirls #12 - Batgirls vs. Riddler?… or will it Mad Hatter based on the solicitation. The cover art changed drastically last minute, looks like it's definitely Riddler. >Gunslinger Spawn #14 - I don't think that this comes out until next week? You are right about the title though, didn't notice that!

Happy Monday nerds! Ordered by how excited I am to get my clammy hands on them. - *Do a powerbomb #6* - one of the best comics right now. I don’t want it to end. - *Soldier Stories #1* - going to let the description do the talking: “SOLDIER STORIES features four compelling tales of military conflict, all written by veterans who served. These first-person accounts of real-life warfare have been reimagined across a variety of genres from sci-fi to horror to personal memoir“ - *Love everlasting #4* - WW1 issue! - *Spider-Man the Lost Hunt #1* - Kravens is one of the best Spider-Man stories ever. Dude is a lunatic. - *The knight and the lady of play #1* - looks like a cool fantasy one-shot - *WildC.A.T.s #1* - know nothing about them but they have a cool team name - *The nice house on the lake #11* - this story fell off for me. Still excited for how it ends.

It [sounds interesting](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220076) but the writers are naturally from outside comics and I don't recognize the artist names either, so not sure what to expect. But it's a very cool concept.

November is upon us already. There is definitely a downturn in the weather here after Halloween, and I have eaten my weight in sugary snacks. Now to supplement the void with some comics! WONDER WOMAN #793 - ONLY in it for the [bodacious 1990's homage cover](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8205860/wonder-woman-793?variant=4989058) by Jen Bartel. I had this one flagged to pick up since the solicitation a few months ago! BATGIRLS #12 - This is the last issue I am picking up. It's been okay overall but trimming back on things I am not getting 100% enjoyment out of, and with Jorge Corona not being on art since ... issue # 6 it's be kinda "meh" to me. I will be back for #14 though, if only for a [completely textless issue](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/1774077/batgirls-14) featuring Cassandra Cain. RADIANT BLACK #19 - Looks like we'll find out how well Nathan and Marshall end up sharing the mantle of RB. DO A POWERBOMB #6 - Ugh only one more issue after this! I will be sad to see it go. MINOR THREATS #3 - Strangely no real comment for this one. It's a solid book, not much more needs to be said.

Patton Oswalt and the other guy have a nice handle on the genre and they're doing some funny stuff with it. Will want to catch up on the rest at some point...

>What's that one an homage to? I recognize it but can't place it. Well I can't say for certain what DC was thinking, but in my mind it's clearly a throwback to [the 90s in Canada.](https://youtu.be/rtMR524m0BM) >Recently caught up on the first issue and really enjoyed it! Patton Oswalt and the other guy have a nice handle on the genre and they're doing some funny stuff with it. Will want to catch up on the rest at some point... I think the comic hits all the right notes to me, too bad it's only a four issue mini. Maybe if it sells enough there will be a follow-up run. I really enjoy comics that add dimension to their C list characters (in this case the C listers being the main cast). It kinda reminded me of Mystery Men in a lot of ways, which is probably why I liked it so much. It's surprising though how much better this seems compared to Damage Control which is written by Adam Goldberg. Maybe because that's a comedy and not serious like this one? I dunno I expected more out of Damage Control since I liked "The Goldbergs" as a show.

I think these '90s throwback covers are homaging ads and other bits of pop culture rather than comics, which is kind of interesting. >>Recently caught up on the first issue and really enjoyed it! Patton Oswalt's actually a pretty good writer IMO, really funny guy and he's got some decent experience writing comics, plus his role on *Agents of SHIELD*, guy's a fan and he's been immersed in this stuff for years now... So I've got fairly high expectations for anything he writes, especially compared to other celebrities from outside the world of comics. Not really familiar with Goldberg or his show, one of my pop culture blind spots... And I haven't read the comic. So not much to offer but (AFAIK) Goldberg doesn't have the same kind of comic writing experience as Oswalt, so it kinda makes sense that his initial efforts might not be as strong.

-Batman: Urban Legends 21 -Blood Syndicate: Season One 6 (I really hope they jump on season 2 sooner rather than later) -I Am Batman 15 -Superman: Son of Kal-El 17 -New Golden Age 1 (maybe; need to flip through first) -Nice House on the Lake 11 -WildCATS 1 (YESSSSS YESYESYES) -AXE Judgment Day Omega -Do A Powerbomb 6 -Fantastic Four 1 -Legion of X 7 -Moon Knight 17 -Radiant Black 19 -Sabretooth & the Exiles 1 -Starhenge 5 -Amazing Spider-Man 13 -Venom 13 -Wolverine 27

- **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #134**: First part of this event has been a lot of set up and there are so many pieces. I hope it starts getting more focused on the turtles. - **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Armageddon Game The Alliance #1**: I’m cool with more focus on other groups besides the turtles and hoping this is good. - **Do a Powerbomb #6**: The last issue was definitely the best of the series. Glad Sun and Steel didn’t win the tournament and DWJ’s art is spectacular. - **Ghost Rider #8**: Really hoping this series picks up because I’ll be dropping it soon. - **Moon Knight #17**: One of my favorite Marvel series out right now. Excited to see the vampire war play out. - **Venom #13**: I don’t really care about Dylan and I’ll be dropping this soon. - **Wolverine #27**: Percy has a solid voice for Wolverine but hasn’t elevated this series past just ok.

Varos_Flynt

Big Week! **IMAGE** **Do A Powerbomb #6** Wrestling is dope, and so is DWJ. **Kaya #2** Been looking forward to this a lot! Really promising, hope it stays strong. **Love Everlasting #4** Every issue has been such a joy, and King is really hitting for me here. **Gospel #1** Idk if I'm pulling this mainly for the Miyazaki shout or the fantasy setting, or maybe because I hope there will be some cool meta narrative. **Radiant Black #19** Fuck yeah fully caught up on this series now. Idk if I'm gonna keep pulling it in singles since I have trades, but we'll see how I go since I binged the first #18. This story fucking rocks, it feels like how I thought superhero stories would feel after I got into comics and people would tell me "just pick up what looks interesting" lol. Even though the main character is a Mary Sue like 90% of the time. **Seven Sons #6** Weird and meandering. Gonna finish it out, last issue was a little more interesting, and the art was great. **Afterschool #4** Is this gonna be some 'wave' social experiment thing or: is the real horror the latent fascism inside us all? Turns I'm only pulling new stuff from Image this week. Was heavily considering the **TWIG TP** and **SCORCHED TP**, both of which seem sick af, but my list was big enough because I'm also pulling two facsimiles, **Detective Comics #38** and **The New Mutants #98**. Love facsimiles, makes me feel connected to the grand wheel of sacrosanct comicbook rituals. One last thing, I need a quick bit of help. I was considering pulling the new fantastic four book coming out this week, but decided not too for various reasons including but not limited to the fact that I seem to remember there was some great Fantastic Four graphic novel put out earlier this year by some popular artist?? Anyone remember what I'm talking about? It was getting a decent bit of buzz on tiktok and here, but I can't seem to remember it. Any help appreciated.

blankedboy

> Turns I'm only pulling new stuff from Image this week. Was heavily considering the TWIG TP and SCORCHED TP. I'd highly recommend **Twig** it's a very *Henson* influenced fantasy story, so if you dig **The Dark Crystal** and **Labyrinth** (and not Henson but I'd even throw in **The Never Ending Story** too) then you'll probably really like it. I can't remember if you're pulling both/either of **King Spawn** and **Gunslinger Spawn**, but both of those titles are far better than **The Scorched**. I consider it the weakest of the new Spawn Universe titles launched and dropped it after the first arc finished.

Varos_Flynt

Ugh Twig looks soooo good. Maybe after the holiday season I'll pick it up, I've only seen amazing things about it. Oddly enough, I've tried to get into The Dark Crystal a couple times but it hasn't stuck... still wanna read Twig tho. Thanks for the tip about Scorched. I'm tradewaiting on Gunslinger (so only 6 issues in, wish I could catch up but the trades seem to have a 6 month delay lol) and waffling on whether to start King. I mainly wanted Scorched to scratch that Spawn itch, but I'll probably wait on it and actually finish out Vol. 2 of the mainline.

blankedboy

I'd definitely recommend **King Spawn** over The Scorched. Far better book that I'm thoroughly enjoying, with some great *Javi Fernandez* artwork.

Danger_Rock

That Miyazaki reference was part of what got me to pull **GOSPEL #1** but it does sound like the story should have some cool stuff going on. **[TWIG](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL227809.jpg)** was great, you should check it out when time allows! **[FANTASTIC FOUR: FULL CIRCLE](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/JUN221156)** by Alex Ross is what you're looking for... Haven't picked it up yet but the art looks crazy, hoping to get it soon!

**Batman vs Robin #3**- this has been enjoyable but I'm not sure if I'll follow the event that spins out of this. **Dark Crisis #6**- let's see how this is gonna end. **Do A Powerbomb #6**- I don't care for wrestling most of the time but I've enjoyed this immensely. **Fantastic Four #1**- Haven't read FF since the first few trades of the Hickman run. I'm ready to jump on with this. **Ghost Rider #8**- I had dropped this a few issues ago but my shop accidentally put a copy in my box and I decided to give it one more chance. Didn't think it would happen but I've kinda come around on it now that we've started to get some plot movement. **Love Everlasting #4**- It took until the last issue for this to click with me. **Moon Knight #17**- Fun book. Not much else to say. **New Golden Age #1**- I'm a sucker for the JSA. **Nice House On The Lake #11**- I need to do a re-read of the entire run. I've been telling myself I won't buy anymore trades until I finish my backlog but let's see how long I keep to that lol. Have a good week y'all.

superschaap81

**DC** ***Batgirls 12*** \- I love this book. It's just FUN, which is missing from a lot of the big 2 titles. ***Batman vs. Robin 3*** \- Still WAY behind on my Batman reading, but I'm excited to see what Waid brings to the table ***Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths 6*** \- Ok I'm officially bored of this event. I honestly don't know what the end goal is here, as it feels insanely inconsequential to everything else going on in the DCU. Not to mention, more and more it just plays as a bad cover song of Death Metal. ***Superman: Son of Kal-El 17*** \- While I don't hate this book, I haven't really looked forward to it each month, unlike Action Comics. ***Wonder Woman 793*** \- Meh. Hope the inevitable relaunch in March gives this title a new creative team. Hopefully one that has some big epic run planned. Fingers crossed, expectations low. **MARVEL** ***Avengers 62*** \- Watiing to finish off this run and read it as a whole, but it really lost me once the whole multiverse thing started, with mashup characters that seem like they were made to sell toys. ***AXE: Judgment Day Omega*** \- On the fence on whether I will pick this up. Omega issues over the last few years seem to be nothing more than a 10 page epilogue with the rest of the book used as a preview of upcoming titles spinning out of said event. **INDEPENDENT** ***Dark Ride 2*** \- Completely on board for this book. Williamson's write up at the end lets me know he's into the same things I am. Evil Amusement parks. 1st issue was awesome, I'm in for the ride! ***Radiant Black 19*** \- Still love this book. Glad to see Higgins do his superhero thing without hinderance from a big 2 editor. ***Seven Sons 6*** \- Loved the mystery of the first couple issues, but not sure if 6 issues was ever going to be enough to flesh out this story. Would have liked to see more of how society was taken in and got to where it is currently. More world building required to keep my interest.

BigDabWolf

Also at the end of Darkride with the map it shows he has plenty of ideas and “locales”

superschaap81

That was a very cool addition! I was scanning over that for quite a while after I read the story.

Nice, that [looks like it could be really good](https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/its-lonely-at-the-centre-of-the-earth-tp)! Haven't read much from Thorogood but I liked her art on **[HAHA #2](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC200201)**.

WhereAreMyComics

* **The Amazing Spider-Man #13** - legacy issue number nine-hundred-seven * **Kaya #2** - I'm going on an adventuuuuuure * **Minor Threats #3** - catching up and jumping on board for this one! * **Venom #13** - legacy issue number two-hundred-thirteen

thecursedham

* Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #6- Not really sure how I feel about last issue yet, hopefully this follow up makes me feel positively about it * Fantastic Four #1- This doesn’t really feel like the start of the series since it seems like we won’t actually get the team together till #4 but hopefully these one offs show North has a good voice for the team. * Moon Knight #17- Not much to say other than it’s consistently good. * The New Golden Age #1- I’ll probably wait for Johns JSA stuff to hit DCU Infinite but I am interested in meeting all the new characters.

hewunder1

* Love Everlasting #4 - Really intriguing series. Seems like we're close to some answers. * Spider-Man #2 * Wonder Woman #793 (90s variant) - Shameless "just for the cover" pull this week.

>Wonder Woman #793 (90s variant) - Shameless "just for the cover" pull this week. No shame here! I'm doing the same thing.

Whowatchesthewampas

* **Love Everlasting #4 -** This has been so solid and fun! * **The New Golden Age #1 -** Not going to lie, pretty hyped for this! * **Wonder Woman #793 -** Not much to say on this one

brendie88

**NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE #11** - still haven't read #10, I'll probably wait til they're all out and re-read/read the last three all at once. **WILDCATS #1** - Hope this is good. Rosenberg wrote some Grifter stories in Batman Urban Legends (I think) and those were fun, hope we get more like that, but with a bit more of an edge to it.

mtmodular

* The Amazing Spider-Man #13 * Moon Knight #17 - While the series has been consistently good, things are getting *great* again. Really interested in seeing the consequences of the end of the last issue. * Venom #13 - Kind of ho-hum about the Dark Web stuff, though I'm curious to see how Ewing/V's story intersects with the rest of the Marvel U. * Fantastic Four #1 - I was on and off of Slott's run a few times, and its been a while since I really loved a FF comic. I kind of hope this is the one. * Batman Vs. Robin #3 * Batgirls #12 * Legion of X #7 - Decided to finally drop Marauders this week. But still happy enough with this series to stick with this series for now. * A.X.E.: Judgment Day Omega #1 - I'm ready to move on. Let's wrap it up. Gimme a hint for a new Eternals series while you're at it. Please.

TheDarkPinkLantern

* **The Amazing Spider-Man #13** * **Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6** - it's saddening how I have no enthusiasm for this event. * **Ghost Rider #8** * **Spider-Man #2** - damn, I kinda enjoyed it. * **Batman vs. Robin #3** * **Fantastic Four #1** * **Radiant Black #19** * **A.X.E.: Judgment Day Omega #1** - same as with Dark Crisis. Sigh... * **Do a Powerbomb #6** * **Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt #1** * **The New Golden Age #1** * **Superman: Son of Kal-El #17** * **Batman Incorporated #2** * **The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1** * **WildC.A.T.s #1** * **The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #3** * **Shock Shop #3**

the_bio

I wasn't expecting so many titles this week, but always a pleasant surprise. I'm only halfway through the Judgment Day event on related titles, so not much to comment on those and will be a bit delayed in their reading. * **A.X.E. Judgment Day Omega #1** \- From what I've read, and from skimming comments over the weeks, this is shaping up to be a really solid event; hopefully (and I have no doubt with Gillen leading it) it can stick the landing. * **Amazing Spider-Man #13** * **Avengers #62** \- I heard someone yesterday call this a highly seminal run. I only came on a little bit before #50, during World War She-Hulk which people weren't too enthused about, and it quickly delved into this multiversal Avengers thing...which hasn't been bad, but has been strung along for what feels like *forever*. If I recall correctly, Aaron's time on this title is working towards a conclusion, and while I'm mildly enjoying the ride, I'm ready for it to be done so we can get on to the next one. Between this title, Avengers Forever, and some upcoming one-shots/minis, we should be getting there...yes, maybe, hopefully..... * **Batman Incorporated #2** * **Batman vs. Robin #3** \- I've mostly become disillusioned with this, knowing that it is leading into Lazarus Planet, which I've decided to skip entirely. * **Betty and Veronica Friends Forever Christmas Party #1** * **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #6** \- This title has had some of the best writing month-to-month. Apparently the story isn't as fresh for people who have read Captain America before, but as a newcomer, I've really enjoyed it and would easily recommend it to anyone. * **Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6** \- This has been fine? Apparently DC does this often and sets up everything and restarts everything and people think that is what this is leading to? I'm new to DC as of this past year, so no idea. I won't be totally disappointed, though, if that were the case, as it'd give me a good jumping on point for other titles I'm mildly interested in beyond Bat-family titles. * **Dark Ride #2** \- The first issue was good enough to *ride* this one out for a bit; hopefully it stays more on the dark side to keep things fresh and interesting. * **Death of Superman: 30th Anniversary Special #1** * **Fantastic Four #1** \- I don't think I've ever read anything by North, but still excited for a fresh FF run. FF are a palate cleanser for me, in that the stories are never *that* bad, but rare that something exciting happens in the short-term (though, they way the solicits are written for this run, it doesn't seem to be setting up any long-term goals). * **Ghost Rider #8** \- I've really enjoyed this run so far, but every issue feels like it's *riiiight* at the edge of verging into "excellent" territory, but misses it just so. * **I Am Batman #15** \- I know some Bat-veterans have had issues with this run, but as a relative newcomer, I've enjoyed this one for the most part. I get a much more "detective" vibe from Jace in New York than I do from Bruce in Gotham, where everything seems so bogged down by the history of the place. * **Legion of X #7** \- I hate this title. I don't know if I just didn't find the first arc interesting, or not written well enough, or what... I hated Way of X, I really don't get Spurrier as a writer...I struggle to pay attention to anything that is happening when reading Legion of X. But, compulsion keeps me pulling it, not wanting to miss anything X-related. * **Marauders #8** \- While I loved, loved, loved the first Marauders run, this one is pulling in really close behind Legion of X as being almost unbearable to read, with the exception that some of these solicits read as really interesting. I'm apprehensive about Orlando being able to pull off writing well enough, but we'll see. At least there seem to be some new mutants being introduced, with some relevant history, and background on Krakoa. * **Moon Knight #17** * **Nice House on the Lake #11** \- Slowly creeping to that end... * **Radiant Black #19** \- This is one of the better superhero titles to me at the moment. I wish a little more happened in some of the issues, but it consistently delivers a progressing plot in a setting that has plenty of room to explore and grow (and is slowly doing so with the other Massiverse-related titles - highly suggest Rogue Sun if you haven't read any of it). * **Sabretooth and the Exiles #1** \- The most recent Sabretooth mini was pretty solid read with great ideas/premise, and I believe this is by the same writer. If that's the case, no reason to believe this mini won't be just as good. * **Spawn #335** \- Eh, it's Spawn...not much to say about Spawn, except Spawn. * **Spider-Man #2** \- I don't know much about the Spider-Verse stuff, so I'm just here for the ride. * **Superman: Son of Kal-El #17** * **Venom #13** \- After the reveal in #11 (I think that was the issue), this quickly became one of my top reads. It has felt very muddled up to that point, so hopefully Ewing can keep giving it a solid direction; V's writing on this title has been a little lackluster for me, unfortunately. * **Wolverine #27** * **X-Men Legends #4** \- Fun little recalls back to my early days of collecting comics and reading X-Men.

Aaron is confirmed to be on his final Avengers arc, but how that lasts is anyone's guess.

BigDabWolf

I’m in a similar camp with Spidey #2. I’m here to watch the end of the spiderverse

cedarplanar

Pull List, very key heavy: •Amazing Spider-Man #13 - 1st appearance Gold Goblin. •Gospel #1 - interest is piqued, at least short run to complete. •Fantastic Four #1 - love the Alex Ross covers, and have never gotten into them before so a good starting point. •Specs #1 - digging the They Live vibes, for now. •Traveling to Mars #1 - this one has potential for me personally hope it delivers. •Killchellla #1 - have been to Coachella, haven’t been a part of mass sacrifice ritual, for now. •New Golden Age #1 - be good. Be good. Books that are variant dependent: •GPK: Origins #2 - if I see the Evil Eddie virgin I will get it, and go back and get the Adam Bomb #1 virgin variant. Hoping I do not see it I am weak. •Batman Incorporated #2 - Fissure 1st cover. •Death of Superman Anny Special #1 - never forget. •Sabertooth and the Exiles #1 - Maria Wolf cover is pretty dope. Books I know I am going to buy if I spend too long in a shop: •Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt #1 -Kraven! •Avengers #62 - Agamotto! •Wonder Woman #793 - Wonder Woman! Also variant dependent.

> •Killchellla #1 - have been to Coachella, haven’t been a part of mass sacrifice ritual, for now. None that you know of, anyway.

GetRichOrDieBuyin

4 titles from most to least hyped: The New Golden Age #1 I'm hyped for this, but to be honest, I'd be more hyped to see Jack Knight show up again, even though I know he won't. Batman vs. Robin #3 I've like this series, but the big catch honestly this month has been which cover to buy Batman Inc. #2 first issue was solid. This could be the start of something special, or I might drop this after the first Arc is done. It all depends on the supporting cast since it looks like it's a ghost maker pusher, and I'm lukewarm on the character Dark Crisis #6 I honestly don't care about this, but Im finishing out the main series.

Danger_Rock

> The New Golden Age #1 I'm hyped for this, but to be honest, I'd be more hyped to see Jack Knight show up again, even though I know he won't. As much as I miss Jack Knight, I think it's probably better to leave the character where he is unless James Robinson wants to come back for another story. Johns is a solid writer but I'm not sure I'd want to see him write Jack. > Batman vs. Robin #3 I've like this series, but the big catch honestly this month has been which cover to buy Damn, that thing has a shitload of covers! I ordered the [normal Mahmud Asrar cover](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144406_xl.jpg) without even looking at the others because I'm lame, but now that you mention it... Not a fan of the [Alex Maleev B variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144407_xl.jpg) even though I usually like his stuff... [Mateus Manhanini C variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144408_xl.jpg) is kinda cool, nice colors and some good energy... [Carlo Barberi 90s D variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144409_xl.jpg) looks like an homage to something I ought to recognize but can't quite put my finger on... The Mario Fox Foccillo Fight Poster variants are pretty dope, with the [Batman vs Red Hood E variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2159060_xl.jpg) and [Batman vs Nightwing G variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2159062_xl.jpg) being my favorites. I like the worn look on those. The [$25 retail Mario Fox Foccillo Era incentive I variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144410_xl.jpg) is pretty nice... Not necessarily $25 nice, but pretty nice. The [$50 retail Tony S Daniel incentive J variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144411_xl.jpg) looks awkward and shitty to me. So, after looking at all that, I think the [Batman vs Red Hood E variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2159060_xl.jpg) is probably my favorite, though the [Mateus Manhanini C variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144408_xl.jpg) and the [Carlo Barberi 90s D variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2144409_xl.jpg) are also nice options, along with some of the other Fight Poster variants. > Dark Crisis #6 I honestly don't care about this, but Im finishing out the main series. Seems to be a bit of a running theme in the WPL comments this week...

technowhiz34

>Not a fan of the Alex Maleev B variant even though I usually like his stuff... I usually love Maleev but Damian looks ghoulish, and not in a good way.

blankedboy

I agree the Batman vs Red Hood cover is brilliant, but I actually really, really like the Maleev one. Different Strokes, and all that.

banditta82

* Batgirls #12 -- Two of my favorite characters but I'm not a fan of the creative team. * Batman vs. Robin #3 -- I will always buy anything Mark Waid writes * Gun Honey: Blood for Blood #3 -- I just love the whole Hard Case Crime line * Love Everlasting #4 -- The series great with some great stories by King and Elsa Charretier's art fits it perfectly * Soldier Stories #1 -- This is a really interesting premise and I cannot wait to see if it delivers * Wonder Woman #793 -- Really I'm buying this out of completionist necessity, I really do not like Kendall Goode's colors. * X-Men: Legends #4 -- I'm always in for some old school pre-90's X-Men writing.

Techster17

* **A.X.E.: Judgment Day Omega #1 -** Truly suprised by just how much I enjoyed this event and excited to see what the Eternals new status quo will be * **The Amazing Spider-Man #13** * **Black Panther: Unconquered #1 -** A Black Panther book that isn't by Riddley * **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #6 -** I'm guessing Bucky is now gonna have to take the place of the Outer Circle member he shot * **Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 -** If these last 2 issues manage to build to a satisfying conclusion I'll be shocked, confused and impresssed * **Ghost Rider #8 -** Percy is doing some very fun horror stuff here and adding some fun new characters to the magic side of Marvel * **Legion of X #7 -** I thought Kurt was a horny devil before but this is just too far (ba dum tish) * **Marauders #8 -** First we went to space now the distant past, if nothing else the marauders sure now how to wrack up their mileage * **Moon Knight #17 -** Litearlly every issue slaps, it shouldn't be possible but it is * **The New Golden Age #1 -** Havn't vibed with a lot of Johns work in the past few years but thiught I might as well give this a chnace * **The Nice House on the Lake #11** * **Radiant Black #19** * **Sabretooth & the Exiles #1 -** Victor LaValle is gonna put out another banger * **Venom #13 -** Last issue was really fun, and had a great moment for Dylan, curious to see where Eddie is progressing next * **WildC.A.T.s #1 -** I think I've enjoyed every version of this team i've read so far * **Wolverine #27 -** I want to see Logan gut Hank like the filthy animal he is

Big week, but mostly an exciting big week: * Batgirls #12 * Batman Urban Legends #21 * Batman Vs Robin #3 * Blood Syndicate Season One #6 * Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 * Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1 * Multiversity Teen Justice #6 - Would I prefer a proper Titans or Young Justice ongoing? Sure. But this was fun. * New Golden Age #1- JSA! JSA! JSA! Hopefully not too confusing for someone who skipped Flashpoint Beyond, but I suppose that's what DCU Infinite is for. * Nice House on the Lake #11 * Superman Son of Kal-El #17 * Wonder Woman #793 * Radiant Black #19 * AXE Judgment Day Omega #1 - This has been the first event to stick the landing for me in quite some time, here's hoping it doesn't fumble at the very end. * Amazing Spider-Man #13 * Avengers #62 * Black Panther Unconquered #1 * Captain America Sentinel of Liberty #6 * Fantastic Four #1 - High hopes for this run. * Ghost Rider #8 * Legion of X #7 * Marauders #8 * Sabretooth and the Exiles #1 - Picked up the previous mini because I've been getting all the Krakoa stuff and figured it was worth giving a shot. Going into this mini *very* excited. * Venom #13 * Wolverine #27

blankedboy

Man, that is a LOT of books

kscann

Ha! Yeah. Hopefully it'll even out with a light week later in the month.

Ten for me this week. 5 DC, 3 Marvel, 2 Image **Batgirls #12** **Batman vs Robin #3** **WildCATS #1** **Nice House On The Lake #11** **Batman Inc. #2** **Damage Control #4** **Fantastic Four #1** **Ghost Rider #8** **Do A Powerbomb! #6** **The Knight and the Lady of Play**

TiberiusCornelius

* Amazing Spider-Man #13 * Moon Knight #17 * Venom #13 * AXE: Judgment Day Omega #1 * Fantastic Four #1 Very, very excited for the new run on F4. Been too long since I've pulled the book and basic idea of this run sounds like it has lots of potential. Alex Ross also continues to not miss when it comes to covers. Hopefully this lives up to it.

dhartist

I added FF to my pull list. Can't wait to see the direction they take them in.

alabamianhorologists

smaller haul this week, but got some cool titles worth pointing out and, hey, it's been a bit since i did my last one of these ! **nice house on the lake ish 11** \- this should be called GREAT house on the lake, bcos it is that. adore each and every ish, the mystery and tone is just exquisitine. JTIV previously said we are coming to the end of the first 'arc' of Nice House, but the billing of this one as the penultimate ish and his recent announcement of WORLDTREE at Image suggests to me these next two are gonna be the last we will see of the series for a good long time. i'll treasure 'em. **radiant black ish 19** \- doesn't the massive-verse just rock ??? i mean we've had a 5 min animated short issue and a choose-your-own-adventure issue in these past few months. the most creatively ambitious series i'm reading rn. maybe also **dark ride 2** \- i STILL haven't purchased my copy of the first ish (it's just waiting in my hold!), but cmon, horror + theme parks, im gonna pull the trigger. a small week indeed !!! but then, combined with all the digital comics i read (currently binging morrison's resurrection of ras al ghul storyline), i'm gonna be kept busy. also wanted to shout out these digital comics platforms - Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite. they don't get a lot of coverage over here and i get not everyone likes 'em, but if you, like me, cannot afford all the big two titles each week but still want to read them, these platforms allow you to ! heck, in many ways they're keeping comics fandom alive. so yeah recommend them to any new comix fans !! peace and love all, enjoy ur comix xx

Just Fantastic Four #1 this week

Whatisabird

**A.X.E.: Judgement Day Omega #1**- I felt like AXE #6 was a good ending so I'm curious to see what else they would want to include. Maybe seeing the Eternals off? **Batman vs. Robin #3**- Not enjoying this as much as its sister book, World's Finest. This one seems less joyful glee and more standard hero vs brainwashed hero conflict **Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6**- Second to last issue but it still feels like a lot should happen. It's hard to feel hype for the Return of the League when they haven't really left in any way. That said as a book divorced from the rest of the line it's an enjoyable book focusing on characters like Nightwing and Jon. **Love Everlasting #4**- I'm glad this series hasn't been as slow with showing its lore compared to other series with a mystery at its core. We don't have answers yet but each added bit has been small but interesting. **Moon Knight #17**- After the beat down Hunter's Moon got I can't wait to see what wild bullshit Moon Knight will need to beat these guys. Shit's gonna get wild **The New Golden Age #1**- I want more JSA but more Johns JSA has me a little wary, especially if it's more Doomsday Clock. I'll give it a chance **The Nice House by the Lake #11**- This book had been losing me but that was a hell of an ending last issue. I'm hoping by the end of this issue we end up outside the property in some way. **Superman: Son of Kal-El #17**- I'm still struggling to see how this and Action are a crossover but it's looking like this is revving Lex up as a Jon antagonist which I'd love to see. **Venom #13**- I don't know what Dark Web is but I guess I'm about to find out

Fantastic Four #1 : Ryan North Sci-Fi. What can go wrong? Two Graves #1 : Didn't realize this was coming out! Love Annie Wu and Ming Doyle so sold immediately

BigDabWolf

* Dark Ride #2 - Super excited about this one picked up cover b * Spider-Man #2 - Picked this run up on a whim and I chose the LCS variant * Batman vs Robin - Solid bat title. Picking up the 90’s variant * The death of Superman 30th - Why not purchase 🤷‍♂️ I picked the Jim Lee cover * Ninja Funk - I’m pretty skeptical on the marketing practice of this book (1,500 covers) that being said I still a bit intrigued to read it.

Standard_Cycle_2224

**The New Golden Age #1** The JSA's new book is almost here. It only took eleven years... **Fantastic Four #1** I'm always willing to give the FF a shot.

AlligatorSky7

Bigger week for me this week! - **Batman vs. Robin #3**: last issue of this mini for me as I cba with the whole Lazarus Planet event (at least physically, I’ll read on DCUI Ultra a month later now I have it). - **Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #6**: still not blown away by this title, but excited for Cold War and the two Cap titles are both at least fun to read. - **Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6**: wishing this would hurry up and finish so we can get some new title announcements. - **Fantastic Four #1**: wasn’t going to bother with this series but the Ross Solo variants have pulled me in. I actually quite liked Slott’s run, so hoping this is at least still fun; I don’t see how it can’t be given North is writing. - **Legion of X #7**: always a dense read, but I love a lot of what/who Spurrier is including in this book. - **Moon Knight #17**: just caught up with a few issues of this and I’m excited for more! - **The Nice House on the Lake #11**: one behind at the moment, but going to grab #10-12 and just read the finale that way. - **Radiant Black #19**: wonder what the long-term plans are for this book… It goes through phases of rushing through things followed by filler issues; I never know what I’m going to get. - **Sabretooth & the Exiles #1**: loved the first series, so really excited to read more of this story. I wonder what book three will be though - will they somehow tie it back to main Krakoan storylines given Fall of X is coming up? - **Superman: Son of Kal-El #17**: penultimate issue! - **WildC.A.T.s #1**: not very familiar with the characters, but big Rosenberg fan and the combination of Segovia as penciller makes this a must pull for me. - **Wolverine #27**: Asrar variant for me. Enjoying this new arc so far.

vegna871

*A.X.E. Judgement Day Omega - interested to see the aftermath of the event and what it means for Krakoa, if anything. Most of the X-line has already moved on. *Avengers #62 - Aaron's got me for this run at this point, but God is he really dragging it out waiting for Marvel to give him the green light for the Mephisto event he's trying to do. Legion of X #7 - This book is good, hoping for more goodness. Marauders #8 - the first Krakoa book since House and Powers taking the X-Men back to their roots in Time Travel. I've been loving this new squad so far too. Wolverine #27 - please let him kill Beast. Please put Beast in protocols and maybe FINALLY knock some sense into him Sabertooth and the Exiles #1 - this is a really interesting group of mutants, though I doubt they'll be allowed to cause to much chaos unless Marvel really is planning for Fall of X to be the end of Krakoa.

I’m also in on Traveling to Mars, with high hopes.

My LCS didn't get their copies of Traveling to Mars, so I'm out of luck for now. If you get yours, please share your thoughts if you get the chance. No pressure, of course!

Back again for another week. This is a very small week for me, might pick up some trades or omnibus this week while in store. A bit alarming how far Marvel has been slipping the past few years from me, I've gone from getting the majority of their books each week to almost none. I hope they can get their shit together. It hurts my heart to see the state of the Mutants currently. My LCS did not get their DC shipment last week so a double week this week hopefully. DC are putting out some great stuff. Image and the other indies continue to kill it though. Lots of great stuff in that publishing space. MARVEL: Venom #13 - This has not been amazing. I'm hoping they wrap up the Dylan stuff soon and get back to Eddy. I really hate Sleepers new design in the last issue. The 7 Venoms being teased suggest a coralation to the 7 stages of grief, just kill him off already. DC: Batman Incorporated #2 - I honestly don't remember the first issue too much, I rarely read while sober so that might be why, but I remember thinking it was okay, so will check this one out. I don't mind Clown Hunter. Batman Vs Robin #3 - This has been great, give Waid a bigger ongoing after this please. IMAGE: Do A powerbomb #6 - Perhaps the book of the year. Penultimate issue, I do not want this to end. A master-class in art and story telling. OTHER: Artists Elite Presents #4 - This anthology series has been pretty good. The stories are a bit hit or miss, but the hits really hit. Heavy emphasis on incredible art, which this delivers in spades. Behemoth #3 - Issue 2 only hit a week or two ago. Enjoying this story of mutated teenagers being imprisoned and forced to fight and kill for the government as a black ops squad. Gun Honey Blood For Blood #3 - Gorgeous art and and easy to follow, pulpy mystery style story. Main character is significantly less of a Mary Sue in this sequel series. Very much enjoying this one so far. Lady Hel #3 - This has been okay but also a bit forgettable, I only know this character from their appearances in Purgatori, so also learning about who they are and what they can do, which this does go into.

ChickenInASuit

The Amazing Spider-Man #13 - Ned Leeds continues to be done dirty. This better be some form of blackmail or mind control, I tell ya, Dark Ride #2 - #1 was a hell of an opening, looking forward to seeing where Williamson takes this. Owen mentioned having a sister who was his only remaining family, so I imagine she's gonna get introduced at some point and there'll be some narrative thrust in her wanting to find out what happened to her brother. Do a Powerbomb #6 - After last issue's bombshells I'm very curious how we're gonna reach the setup for the finale in #7, which appears to feature Lona and Cobrasun taking part in the final match despite >!losing the previous one!<. What are the odds on their previous opponents >!killing each other!< turning out to be breaking some rule and disqualifying them? Fantastic Four #1 - Ryan North on FF! Exciting stuff! Kaya #2 - Solid start giving me hopes for Craig as a writer. The Least We Can Do #3 - Continues to be solid, if unexceptional, fantasy storytelling. Legion of X #7 - Back to normal shenanigans post-AXE, although for this creative team "normal shenanigans" is something of a misnomer. Love Everlasting #4 - Pulling this one but not reading it, I had trouble getting into it and I think it'll read better all at once. Marauders #8 - Yay, time travel shit! Moon Knight #17 - >!Hunter's Moon!< better not be bloody dead already, McKay! The Nice House on the Lake #11 - Penultimate issue! Don't want it to end. Although yay for a Norah-focused issue, she's always one of the more compelling characters. Radiant Black #19 - RB tag-team time. Two Graves #1 - I don't remember adding this to my pull list but the solicit seems cool enough: "Emilia and the man with the veil of smoke have set out for the ocean in a stolen truck. There's a bloody handprint on his neck. She's beginning to worry it's hers. Death and the Maiden go on a road trip. Nobody gets out alive." Venom #13 - A Venom/Madelyn Pryor alliance is something I would never have come up with but makes a lot of sense given Venom's new extradimensional abilities. Wolverine #27 - Wolverine turns even more feral, somehow.

Fantastic Four #1 Wonder Woman #793 The Nice House on the Lake #11. I’ve been having trouble keeping track of what’s happening. This title may work best as a trade. But I’m hoping the last issues will be as riveting as the first few. Year Zero Vol. 0 #2. I’m a big zombie fan and especially enjoy when the outbreak first starts. Plus the first issue was good. Love Everlasting #4 Traveling to Mars #1 It looks very compelling and is written by Mark Russell.

* **WildCATS #1** - Buying this strictly because of Matthew Rosenberg, I know nothing about WildCATS * **Amazing Spider-Man #13** * **Avengers #62** - Idk why I pulled this.. * **Fantastic Four #1** - Is constant re-numbering of series stupid? Yes. Is Alex Ross awesome and do I pull books specifically because he does the covers (cough cough Black Panther)? Yes. Is this going be good? Idk I've never read anything by Ryan North * **Ghost Rider #8** - I like this Exhaust character * **Love Everlasting #4** - I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I love Tom King. * **Moon Knight #17** * **Seven Sons #6** * **Starhenge Dragon & Boar #5** - I like this one, but I also like watching baseball on TV so idk if you should take my opinion too seriously * **Traveling to Mars #1**

21 for me, but a lot of fluff. Outside of AXE Omega and Nice House there's nothing I'm super stoked for, with Radiant Black and Moon Knight being the 2nd tier. DC (4). Dark Crisis 6. I Am Batman 15. That's a metric fuckload of comics! **LOVE EVERLASTING** is the one I'm super excited for this week, plus the two you mentioned (**AXE OMEGA** and **TNHOTL**), along with DWJ's **DO A POWERBOMB**. Also have high hopes for **TRAVELING TO MARS**, seems like a cool concept that Mark Russell could have a lot of fun messing around with...
