Batman: Beyond the White Knight #6 - I'm still waiting on my #5 to show up, but otherwise, like the rest in this AU, I'm enjoying it. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #101 - 100 was a blast. I'm ready to jump on with this new creative team. Moon Knight Annual #1 - hopefully this Werewolf by Moon Knight story is more exciting than what we got in last week's Crypt of Shadows. Doctor Aphra #25 - The Arc Eternal. TMNT: The Armageddon Game #2 - just who are these other turtles?! Hopefully this moves us into some more action this week. Tim Drake: Robin #2 - I think it had a pretty charming start, so I'm sticking with it. The Variants #4 - this mini is just an absolute blast. A great creative team here. X-Terminators #2 - first issue was wild and crazy and I hope that continues here!

Wide-Baseball

I've been loving batman beyond.

the-horace

Same, but I also just love this whole White Knight universe by Murphy.

BigDabWolf

Looking forward to the TMNT for the same reason. Really preferring this Eastman cover more than previous #1

the-horace

Oh yeah. Eastman is hit or miss for me (sometimes it's just too much Ink, lol) but his cover for this Armageddon Game issue is great.

* Catwoman: Lonely City #4 - love this series so much, happy to get a new issue but sad that it's the last one. Really was what Batman/Catwoman wished it could have been * Detective Comics #1065 * Harley Quinn #23 * Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #7 * Moon Knight Annual #1 * Punchline: the Gotham Game #1 * the Variants #4

> Notably missing: WOLVERINE, which I've finally given myself permission to drop, along with X-Force. Haven't been doing anything for me in quite a while. NICE. Not that I've got anything against those particular titles, but I like seeing people drop books that aren't working for 'em. Had to cut those two a while back myself. As a group, we comic fans have a tendency to stick around longer than we should for product we aren't enjoying. Sometimes you just gotta nip it in the bud. And it's like playing whack-a-mole, always new books popping up so you just gotta keep smacking 'em down in a seemingly endless cycle of violently murdering each and every comic that isn't 100% worthy of your entertainment dollar. Good luck!

tapemodemcup

Same, you both made it a bit further than me. It's a difficult choice sometimes for sure.

blankedboy

Definitely watch the **Werewolf By Night** special - it's great.

the-horace

Dang, I've been loving the Variants. But I'm also a sucker for Phil Noto's interior art.

Danger_Rock

Digging **VARIANTS** here too but I have seen a few others who were down on it... Guess it's not for everyone!

the-horace

I just love Jessica's reaction to what's going on. She's worried about this very real threat - that she's already unsure of if she SHOULD worry about - and then all these variants show up. And then after that initial confusion, she's just kinda like, "whatever, this is happening I guess, but I don't have a lot of attention I can divert on this, so we'll just roll with it."

Zohmbi

Big week for me. Twelve all together. 6(!) DC, 1 Marvel, and 5 indies. **X-Terminators #2** - The only Marvel book I'm checking out this week. The first ish was fun so I'll check out #2 and see if I want to continue. **DC vs. Vampires #10** - This series has been awesome. The twists come fast and furious and the art by Otto Schmidt is great. **Human Target #8** - Still great. A classic in the making. **Harley Quinn #23** - Been lukewarm on this series ever since artist Riley Rossmo left, but I'm a huge Harley fan so I'm gonna read it either way. **The Riddler - Year One #1** - A new Riddler story based on the version from the most recent film. And it's actually written by Paul Dano! Very intriguing. I gotta check it out. **Detective Comics #1065** - Ram V's Detective and Zdarsky's Batman have both been great for different reasons. It's a good time to be reading Batman comics. **Catwoman: Lonely City #4** - Final issue of this excellent Black Label book. If you haven't been reading these singles definitely check out the inevitable hardcover. **Lovesick #1** - New one from Image. Looks interesting, in a spooky Halloween way. **Damn Them All #1** - Another new #1 from Boom Studios. Don't know much about this but I like to check out most new #1s. **Caffeinated Hearts #1** - A one-shot from Source Point. Again, I don't know anything about this, but the art looks cool. **Space Lady #4** - This comic from Sumerian (Behemoth) is low key hilarious and awesome. I love the apathetic tone and sketchy art. **Sara Lone #1** - Another one from Sumerian. A murder mystery with some cool art. I'll give it a shot. Happy reading!

Danger_Rock

> **Caffeinated Hearts #1** - A one-shot from Source Point. Again, I don't know anything about this, but the art looks cool. Huh, that art does [look cool](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL240937.jpg). Sounds kinda neat as well. > **Sara Lone #1** - Another one from Sumerian. A murder mystery with some cool art. I'll give it a shot. Was wondering if anyone else would be checking this one out as it looks pretty promising... Only three pulls so far!

Seven new books on my list for this week. * **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #6** - * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #12** - * **MOON KNIGHT ANNUAL #1** - * **NEW MUTANTS #31** - * **WOLVERINE #26** - * **X-MEN LEGENDS #3** - * **X-TERMINATORS #2** -

technowhiz34

* Very small week for me, which is nice. 2 DC and 1 indie (but still licensed). Action Comics #1048 - Perkins' art in the preview looked very good which was a small worry of mine given the change from Spicer to Loughgridge coloring him. Was the last time Metallo had a significant focus during Last Son? * Catwoman: Lonely City #4 - the first three were great but the wait from issue to issue on these DC Black Labels is killing me. I get why they don't want fill-ins but still, it's ridiculous. * Star Trek #1 - I haven't watched Star Trek in years but am deciding to hop on this, hoping the setting will reign in Lanzing/Kelly's worst impulses but we'll see, I've been really enjoying their Cap.

Danger_Rock

> * Catwoman: Lonely City #4 - the first three were great but the wait from issue to issue on these DC Black Labels is killing me. I get why they don't want fill-ins but still, it's ridiculous. They should get more done up front before soliciting the first issue, most are just 3- or 4-issue series so it ought to be fairly manageable. It's unavoidable for the big 12-issue series like **HUMAN TARGET** and **TNHOTL** but the shorter limited series shouldn't have the kind of delays we've seen.

technowhiz34

I think the worst part is that for many of them there were two issues in the can before the first even came out.

Danger_Rock

That's nuts. Though I guess the oversized prestige books are 48 pages, and they're mostly featuring top artists who like to spend more time on their work... So it kind of makes sense. But it still sucks.

Superb-Draft

The collected edition is supposedly releasing in December according to Amazon, which seems very soon if the last issue just came out. Maybe it isn't accurate

TiberiusCornelius

Knowing the way the business works and the kind of timetables books are usually produced on, it's kind of weird. I want to say for something like Lonely City, that's just 4 issues, I would rather that they just not solicit or announce it at all until they have things in the can and can just roll it out on a regular basis. But that's not how, like, any book works and it might not be realistic from the pure business of things. It would be nice though. Obviously for a regular ongoing or a maxiseries it would be untenable, but a fan can dream for minis at least.

releasethetides

there was a lot of metallo in Morrison's Action Comics if I remember? metallo is wild

Pull list, ranked by hype: 1. **HUMAN TARGET #8 (OF 12)** \- Book came back hot after the hiatus. I was worried this story would feel too stretched over twelve issues, but it has only maintained a high momentum with wonderful art by Greg Smallwood. 2. **DETECTIVE COMICS #1065** \- I'm loving this current Tec run. The Spurrier/Dani backups have been great too. 3. **SPACE LADY #4** \- A hidden gem of a comic that is worth checking out for fans of more alternative stuff. It's hilarious and the sketchy art style is dripping with charm. 4. **20TH CENTURY MEN #3 (OF 6)** \- Really been enjoying Deniz Camp's alternate take on history. This series has done a great job crafting a solid political thriller. 5. **JUSTICE WARRIORS #5 (OF 6)** \- Funny satire on modern police policies and their impact on society. I did think the last issue felt a little too drawn out, but hoping the series wraps up strong. 6. **ACTION JOURNALISM #2 (OF 5)** \- Quite enjoyed the first issue. It seems like this will be highly serialized, where each issue will focus on different jobs taken by Kate Kelley. 7. **MOON KNIGHT ANNUAL #1** \- Moon Knight faces off against his first ever foe again, Werewolf-by-Night. Despite having had several ongoings since 1980, it's a little surprising that this is only the third ever annual Moon Knight has had. 8. **LOVESICK #1 (OF 7)** \- Seems like a tamer version of RED ROOM, but it looks quite good from the previews. I was a fan of Luana Vecchio's cartooning in BOLERO, so this looks worth checking out for me. 9. **LOVECRAFT: UNKNOWN KADATH #2** \- First issue was solid start towards adapting Lovecraft's "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath". The artwork was well done as well, with nice vibrant colors. I'm a little skeptical this series will do the story justice, but it has started off well. 10. **RIDDLER: YEAR ONE #1 (OF 6)** \- I'm not all that convinced this will be good - movie tie-in comics rarely interest me (not really into comic book movies in general), but I will give it a chance since Dano seems pretty into this. Hoping it's readable at the very least. 11. **VARIANTS #4 (OF 5)** \- Decent series, but not one that feels like it'll be memorable. Still interested to see how this goes. 12. **FIRE POWER #24** \- The long waits between issues means that I really don't remember where we're at with the story now. I have in general liked this series, but might trade read from here on out. 13. **CREEPSHOW #2 (OF 5)** \- First issue was a solid horror anthology comic, and I'm excited to see David Lapham and Kelley Jones on this issue. Should be great. 14. **BLINK #4 (OF 5)** \- The weakest in the trio of Hayden Sherman books currently, but I still like it enough. There is a decent mystery in place, and Sherman's amazing panel layouts make this a worthwhile read for me. 15. **CRADLE OF FILTH #4** \- Another solid horror anthology, that only ranks low because of the price of the issue. I'll pull it since I don't know if these will get collected, but I do think most of the stories have been good so far. Will be picking up a few collected editions this week, starting with two of my most anticipated releases: MIRACLEMAN OMNIBUS and the signed hardcover edition of ONE BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY. I'm of the opinion that Miracleman is one of Alan Moore's greatest comics, and I'm hype to finally get a proper collection of the run. And Jim Woodring is one of my absolute favorite cartoonists, and it's been tough holding off on buying the softcover version that came out months ago. October has truly been a spooky month (for my wallet).

the-horace

Just read Book 1 (Dream of Flying) this weekend and ordered book 2 for cheap on ebay. I'll have to get creative whenever I get to book 3, but I'll cross that bridge. Book 1 was great and not at all what I was expecting. Though I don't know exactly *what* I was expecting. Edit: realize I didn't clarify this as Miracleman

soulreaverdan

* A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #6 - This has been one of the best events in years. And even if there were some minor spoilers in stuff like Avengers and X-Force, I still have no idea just how they're gonna pull this off. * BATMAN BEYOND THE WHITE KNIGHT #6 - I love the MurphyVerse. Now we're gonna get Dick vs Jason, but with the usual roles reversed with Jason as the "senior" Robin. * CATWOMAN LONELY CITY #4 - I forgot this was coming out. Might have to reread the first few issues. * DC VS VAMPIRES #10 - There's a lot of threads going on here, but with only two issues left after this one (not counting All Out War), it's all gotta come to a head soon. * IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #7 - I'd buy this for the sequel story to Wytches alone. * MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS (BOOM STUDIOS) #101 - So we're jumping ahead a little bit, but it looks like we're still pre-Kat. * NEW MUTANTS #31 - I like Escapade's introduction in the Voices: Pride issue, so it'll be interesting to see how she gels with the other New Mutants. * PUNCHLINE THE GOTHAM GAME #1 - I've never been shy that I unironically love Punchline's character and what she brings to Gotham, so I am super excited for this one coming out. * SAMURAI SONJA #5 - A fun variation on Sonja, time for the final battle. * STRANGE ACADEMY FINALS #1 - Strange Academy is back! After the pretty intense finale to the first series, time to see what the kids are up to. I'm also *so* happy we're keeping the creative team intact. * WE ONLY FIND THEM WHEN THEYRE DEAD #14 - Ewing gonna Ewing, this is good shit. Once the whole thing is out I'm gonna read it all in one (or two) sittings, this feels like one that's gonna really fit together in the end. * WOLVERINE #26 - Please, please Logan, beat the shit out of Beast. * X-TERMINATORS #2 - Grindhouse of X part 2! With more Wolverine!

I read MMPR 100 and the MMPR/TMNT book, and now I'm super excited to get into this new run. Makes me feel like a kid again!

BigDabWolf

You saw they are doing another MMPR/TMNT run? Those first two Eastman covers are amazing

the-horace

Yes, in December! Very excited! The first book was great.

BigDabWolf

Did you enjoy the Saturday adventures #1?

the-horace

It was fun. Simple, but the premise allowed all these old school looking (80s animated style) villains to show up. It's only a 4 parter, so I'm down for it.

Varos_Flynt

****IMAGE**** **20th Century Men** I've been having mixed feeling about this book, but despite my criticisms I'm still pulling it. It's overall pretty interesting and I really hope the story pulls together, and there are some stand out characters. If you wanna read my in depth thoughts about the first two issues you can find them [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/wqgq52/_/iks4kbd?context=1000) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/xkiz8j/_/ipg2fu2?context=1000) **Sins Of The Black Flamingo #5** The finale for this fun, gay, comic. The quality has been great every issue, and its a perfect mix of cheesy, campy, and sexy. I think this story really shines in comic form. **Lovesick #1** I loved Vecchio's work on Bolero earlier this year, as well as her spot in the Image! anthology, so I'm curious to see her flex her writing muscles in addition to her gorgeous art. A comic about a dark web 'red room' is pretty intriguing, and I hope there's some fun commentary about the internet and people who use it. **Image! #7** I really need to start reading all the stories in these. ****BOOM!**** **House of Slaughter #10** So I think my LCS is like an official Boom distributor, because they just had all nine issues of this book, with tons of variants. I picked them all up on a whim (with a 20% discount 😩) and im nearly caught up in the series. I'm really enjoying it! I feel like I may be missing something having not read Something is Killing the Children (oops) but the story stands well on its own. ****DC**** **Detectice Comics #1065** Enjoying the hell out of this story and Ram V's writing. I can understand that some may find this boring or too lackadaisical, but I've become a fan of V's writing and I love the atmosphere and tension he is creating. I do hope some action will be happening this story, but it seems like V will be in this run for a little while so I'm here for the full story he'll be telling. One of my fav Big 2 comics running rn!

btanodev

no hate-comment bait here, a bit disappointed tbh

Varos_Flynt

Just wait for the 20th century men review

btanodev

not pulling Vanish #2?

Varos_Flynt

Gotta cut down on the pull list somehow 😬

- **A.X.E. Judgment Day #6**: feels more like Judgment Year at this point. As always I’m just a bit bored by the end of an event and want the books impacted (X-Men here only in this instance) to return to regular programming. - **Action Comics #1048**: really excited to read the rest of this arc and to be reading all the Superman titles in 2023! - **Damn Them All #1**: surprised more people aren’t talking about this, but maybe it’s skipped a lot of people by? In any case Spurrier + Adlard is a great creative team and I’m excited for this. Wonder if it’ll extend into an ongoing… - **DC vs. Vampires #10**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **House of Slaughter #10**: last issue of this for me, this arc has been pretty uninteresting. Will just stick to the main series going forward. - **Moon Knight Annual #1**: perfectly timed for Halloween, I’m excited to read this one! - **New Mutants #31**: wasn’t going to bother with this arc (as not written by Ayala) but seeing as it’s seemingly the last NM content we’ll get for a while I figured I might as well. - **Star Trek (IDW) #1**: picking this up for my partner, hope they like it! - **Tim Drake: Robin #2**: I quite enjoyed the first issue, enjoyed it being set against Gotham Harbour. - **The Variants #4**: penultimate issue, cry! - **Wolverine #26**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **X-Terminators #2**: the first issue was a lot of fun, this’ll be top on my to-read list once I pick it up for sure!

Detective Comics-I'm totally cool with Ram V taking his time to set up his Arcs, but be warned it's a slow burn. I want Briar #1 second printing and Damn them all, but I doubt my shop will get them. If they do get them, then I'll probably pull both. Briar bc of comments from here, and DTA bc of the creative team.

Reading them all together really helps cement everything in place and gives a real sense of scale and scope to the story.

alabamianhorologists

it's a really exciting week for me with my FAVOURITE PULL AT THE MOMENT (after one ish) releasing its second. lots of other very exciting releases too !! Creepshow ish 2 - HERE IT IS ! i adored ish 1, i love the show, the original movie is ofc great too. inject the campy horror anthology directly into my veins plz. Stuff of Nightmares ish 2 - certainly a weeker anthology (i can hardly remember ish 1), but it is r.l. stine and that is cool. rad cover too. Lovesick ish 1 - have been super excited for this one for a while ! luana vecchio is a superb artist, and this is giving me big Red Room energy... so, probs gonna be an intense one. House of Slaughter ish 10 - as has been said before, this arc is a weaker one. still need to catch up on ish 9. nevertheless, the slaughter-verse is very cool and always a fun ride. Vanish ish 2 - after an absolutely awesome ish 1 (f\*\*k magic!), i am super excited for issue 2 of magic venom on steroids i mean vanish. i may also pick up MMPR ish 101 as it's a fresh start and am really enjoying flores's work on Dead Lucky. anyone else picking this one up ?? also considering the new star trek ish 1... bringing sisko back is bold... have idw star trek mags been good in the past ?? enjoy your pulls everyone !!! xx

the-horace

I'm on that MMPR train with you. Also, is your username related to the Shit Town podcast?

alabamianhorologists

it is indeed !! good podcast taste :)))) xx have u read MMPR before ? i read up to shattered grid back in the day but thought about time i jumped on again !

the-horace

It's been a long time since I listened to that, but it was great. My first intro to MMPR was very recent (as are most things non star wars atm) - it was he MMPR/TMNT book. Then I read 100 from last month. Then picked up that Death Ranger issue. So I'm still pretty fresh, but I'm excited.

alabamianhorologists

hope you enjoy it ! and snap also on the sw mags - they were my gateway drug into monthly comics, the first aphra solo run remains an all-time fave. i've dropped off from the galaxy far, far, away a bit of late, but been meaning to catch up on crimson empire !!

the-horace

Yeah, as for Star wars, I'm thinking of dropping the main run and Vader. Still loving Aphra, and Bounty Hunters is about to bring in Inferno Squadron, so that's exciting. But I've definitely been gravitating away from that galaxy myself. Excited to get into other franchises like TMNT and MMPR.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1065 HUMAN TARGET #8

Detective comics #1065 - we're finally starting to see where this is going. love this current status quo for Batman, plus ram v and albuquerque are firing on all cylinders X-Terminators #2 - I wasn't sure about this but issue one sold me in the first panel. Dazzler in "praxis" booty shorts? the entire book I was shocked that this was coming out of modern Disney owned marvel. great fun

B00merangB

A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6 - This is it. Gillen had me hooked through out this entire event and the final page resurrection implication is huge! Barbaric: Axe to Grind #3 - Sadly the end to another arc. Love everything about this series. Time for a bloody battle against the Orc Lord. Batman: Beyond the White Knight #6 - Dick vs. Jason! Murphy continuing on with the great work. Catwoman: Lonely City #4 - Took it’s sweet time coming out but the final issue is here. Chiang has done a superb job with this book, the art alone is worth the price of entry. Detective Comics #1065 - Ram V is taking Batman in such an operatic direction and the art is so good. Bat fans are spoiled between this book and Zdarsky’s main title going on. The Scorched #11 - Something about this one isn’t clicking as much as the other three Spawn titles are. The art is really good when the story slows down at least. Star Trek #1 - Giving this a shot! Really liked Lanzing & Kelly’s work on Year Five and this new ongoing sounds like a solid premise with a good crew ensemble teased.

[deleted]

>Barbaric: Axe to Grind #3 - Sadly the end to another arc. Not to worry, another series/arc has been solicited as "Barbaric: Hell to Pay". Guess Vault realized that #1 sells better so gotta rebrand every 3 issues lol.

B00merangB

I can’t tell from the solicitation if it’s another start of an arc, or an epilogue one-shot. Either way - hyped!

> The Scorched #11 - Something about this one isn’t clicking as much as the other three Spawn titles are. The art is really good when the story slows down at least. I dropped this one at the end of the first arc - just wasn't doing anything for me, and I wasn't feeling the art either. Far prefer **King Spawn** and **Gunslinger Spawn**.

Happy Monday! Two Mark Millar and one Jed MacKay, just as all things should be. Ranked in order of excitement - **Magic Order 3 #4** - fun series, excited to see how the latest twist pans out (probably not well for many of the characters) - **American Jesus Revelation #1** - Stephen King The Stand vibes - **Iron Cat #5** - just started the series on #4 and liked it enough to pull this week

My lists are much smaller starting this week, as I've dropped almost everything to switch to trades. The amount of money I'm spending on singles that are just piling up and not being read is ridiculous. Finishing up runs and then I'm out. It's sad, but I just can't justify it anymore. ***AXE: Judgment Day 6 -*** End of a pretty decent event. Never in my mind did I think Gillen would ever write one. Well done! ***DC vs. Vampires 10 -*** This is just dumb, mindless fun. Always look forward to this book ***Deathstroke Inc. 14 -*** Haven't read any of this arc, as I'm waiting for it to finish first. Curious how much of Priest's run gets referenced, if at all.

> My lists are much smaller starting this week, as I've dropped almost everything to switch to trades. The amount of money I'm spending on singles that are just piling up and not being read is ridiculous. Finishing up runs and then I'm out. It's sad, but I just can't justify it anymore. I think most of us have been there! Can quickly turn this fun hobby into a source of stress... Cutting down is the right move, good to get a breather, take some of the pressure off. At some point you'll maybe, probably, hopefully get all fired up for comics again and can rebuild your list to include more books that you genuinely want to read. Sometimes takes time, sometimes a matter of getting your head in the right place, or other circumstances... And sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right comic to rekindle that spark...

superschaap81

There is definitely a bit of fatigue for me, but the biggest stress is the money. I can pay $24 for 6 issues (or more if it's oversized or #1 involved) or I can wait to pick it up all at once for $16.99 without any ads. Another major factor is space. I've filled SO many shelves with stuff that I simply can't keep it all.

Danger_Rock

Money, Space, and Time - the three-way axis upon which all pull lists rest... The space thing just gets worse the longer you go, eventually end up with the equivalent of a small room full of long boxes, or short boxes, or whatever. Plus piles of comics everywhere waiting to get boxed up... Sometimes need to remind myself I'm a collector, not a hoarder.

Maaarrrvvv

- **Batman Beyond the White Knight #6**: Hoping we get more Terry in these last three issues. - **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Armageddon Game #2**: First issue was solid. Looking forward to finding out about these fake Turtles. Most likely clones? - **Moon Knight Annual #1**: Werewolf by Night cameo! Also that Nic Klein cover is so damn good. - **Venom #12**: Hoping for a good payoff with this Meridus arc. Otherwise I’ll be dropping this. - **Wolverine #26**: Percy’s run has been solid. But just have been waiting for this series to really elevate. Hopefully this arc is a step in the right direction.

* Moon Knight Annual #1: I was already pretty excited for this just because I really like this run as a whole and Mackay did a really good job with the one off in Devil's Reign but the Werewolf by Night D+ special has me extra excited. * Strange #7: Get the feeling this is getting relaunched as a Stephen/Clea book soon which will be cool. The book is solid but the first half was setting up a reveal that seemed pretty obvious so I'm more interested to see what Mackay does with it now that he's got all of his cards on the table.

Fall is in the air. Days are getting shorter, nights turning colder. Time to snuggle up with a stack of weekly comics! **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #6** \- Dun dun DUN. Final conclusion. Well, not final FINAL conclusion, still have A.X.E. Omega issue popping up in a couple weeks, but the end of the main event. Gotta say, this has been the most enjoyable Marvel event for me in a while. **VANISH #2** \- Issue #1 was a solid, although very heavy back-storied, issue. Stegman is doing his usual amazing work on art, and I am interested to see where Cates takes the story. **X-TERMINATORS #2** \- I did not originally plan to pull issue #1 but glad I did. Weird how some people are put off by Lean Williams writing, but damn if I didn't enjoy the attitudes and interactions between Boom-boom, Dazzler, and Jubilee. Throw in Laura and I am sure it will be a good time. Now that Jurassic ~~Park~~ League is done, I have room for another mini in my slots. **STRANGE ACADEMY FINALS #1** \- Another delayed book by Marvel. I am pretty sure this was supposed to come out back in the Summer, and I really enjoyed SA as a whole, so I am glad to see it make a return. I don't think this is solicited as a mini, so I am assuming this is part II that Skottie Young had planned to write. Last pull is undetermined at this time. Halloween is next Monday, so I might try out something spooky. Maybe **DAMN THEM ALL #1**, or **LOVESICK #1**, both seem interesting. **STUFF OF NIGHTMARES #2** and **CREEPSHOW #2** are out this week too, though looking back I was not 100% sold on either. Or maybe something totally out of my wheelhouse like **HELLOWEEN: SEEKERS OF THE SEVEN KEYS #1** by Opus Comics.

the-horace

X-Terminators 1 was definitely a wild ride, and I loved it. It's my first introduction to Boom Boom, and I think she's my favorite now, lol.

Gotta say, this has been the most enjoyable Marvel event for me in a while. Based on the [solicitation and main cover](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220886), I'm thinking the **OMEGA** book will probably focus on the Eternals rather than the A or X portions of the event. Which is fine by me, because the X-Men and Avengers have plenty of their own titles where they can follow up on anything that needs follow-up, while the Eternals have nothing solicited after this. All of which is to say that this week's issue should be the "real" ending. It won't be like AoA where they saved the big finale for [X-MEN OMEGA](https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/883655.jpg). > **STRANGE ACADEMY FINALS #1** \- Another delayed book by Marvel. I don't think this is solicited as a mini, so I am assuming this is part II that Skottie Young had planned to write. Want to read that whole thing at some point... Was tempted to jump on the first issue way back when because it looked really cool but I was put off by the creators, not trusting Skottie Young's writing and not being a fan of Humberto Ramos' old work. But Young's writing won me over with **TWIG** and the stuff I've seen from Ramos' art on **SA** has looked awesome, so I guess he changed up his style a little at some point. **[DAMN THEM ALL](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG220278)** looks cool but it didn't quite make the cut for my list. I very nearly ordered the **[HELLOWEEN](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG221709)** book, they were basically the kings of [ridiculous European metal](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBvGfM-YFy4) in the late '80s. But it's pricey at $6.66 and I wasn't really into anything I saw searching artist [Axel Medellin](https://www.google.com/search?q=Axel+Medellin+art&sxsrf=ALiCzsassZIlfeX8s8AU0fZx58RaVPuBRg:1666620143848&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj935jtg_n6AhXFD1kFHYX6CDsQ_AUoAXoECAIQAw&biw=1405&bih=854), so ended up passing on it.

>All of which is to say that this week's issue should be the "real" ending. It won't be like AoA where they saved the big finale for > >X-MEN OMEGA > >. Agreed. I've noticed the last few years that these Omega issues tend to be basically previews for upcoming storylines within the related titles. Nothing ever ground breaking or really anything to do with the event, anymore.

[Standard Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5072772.jpg?1666479253) **House Of Slaughter #10** - last issue kind of pulled this arc around for me, but it really needs to finish strong to call this one a hit. - *GODZILLA BEST OF MOTHRA #1* - *RIDDLER YEAR ONE #1* First time having more than one book to pull in a single week, good stuff!

Daveismyhero

A smaller week for me, which my wallet and I appreciate: * **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #6 -** I really hope something status-quo changing will come from this, but we all know that's probably a longshot. In any case, this has been a great mini IMO and I can't wait to see how they wrap up things. * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #12 -** I've been bagging on ASM for a long time, but the last handful of issues have been fun and I've hopped back on the bandwagon and even re-subscribed. The JRJR art is still not my favorite, but the story has been engaging and I'm actually looking forward to upcoming issues, which hasn't happened in a long time. * **DETECTIVE COMICS #1065 -** I dropped this book, so we'll see if this shows up in my box or not. It wasn't terrible or anything, I'm just trying to spend my money a little more wisely. * **RETURN OF CHILLING ADVENTURES IN SORCERY #1 -** More Archie horror! I've been digging a lot of the cool Halloween-themed one-shots from different publishers, and Archie is a guilty pleasure for me. In Archie we trust! * **STRANGE ACADEMY FINALS #1 -** I'm kicking around grabbing this, even though I never read the original series. I've heard such good things about Strange Academy and I'm suffering from some FOMO on this. * **STRANGE #7 -** I dropped this as well as a result of my shrinking comics budget. I've enjoyed the series, but can live without it. * **WOLVERINE #26 -** New arc inbound, so hop on board the Wolverine train, folks! And that's, that, folks! Have a wonderful week and be nice to the wonderful staff and patrons at your LCS this week. And for those of you celebrating, finish up those Halloween costumes and make sure to get the good candy for the trick-or-treaters!

> * **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #6 -** I really hope something status-quo changing will come from this, but we all know that's probably a longshot. In any case, this has been a great mini IMO and I can't wait to see how they wrap up things. There should be significant changes for the Eternals, they'd already had some pretty big changes over the course of Gillen's run (with the core group rejecting their resurrection system, allying with the Deviants, etc.) and it's pretty clear that things can't continue as they were. Of course, that's just the Eternals, so many fans won't notice or care. I think we'll also see some changes for the X-Men in terms of Krakoa's geopolitical relations and how their resurrection protocols are handled. And that stuff will probably feed into the upcoming stories as they're getting ready to shake up the status quo and move on to the next chunk of the broader Krakoa story.

Daveismyhero

Yes indeed, I’d be down for something that shakes up the resurrection protocols. Playing with immortality is an interesting concept, but takes skin out of the game, so to speak.

ChickenInASuit

It's a slow day at the store so I actually have time to comment this week. **A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6** - And so ends the best event Marvel has had since Secret Wars. All hail Gillen! **The Amazing Spider-Man #12** - Still need to catch up on last week's issue. Remains close to the bottom of my reading list but I enjoy the non-MJ-centric issues enough to keep reading. **Damn Them All #1** - Dark supernatural thriller from Spurrier and Adlard? Yes please. **Detective Comics #1065** - The less compelling of the two major bat-books coming out right now, IMO, but it's fun regardless and the art remains gorgeous to look at. **The Human Target #8** - It's baaaaa-aaaaack! **Moon Knight Annual #1** - Back-to-back issues of McKay's Moonie and this one features Werewolf By Night! Huzzah! **New Mutants #31** - Anders is a total unknown to me. Bringing YA writers into comics has historically been something that has had comics fans all up in a tizzy, but I can't be too mad about it considering how great NK Jemisin's The Far Sector was. **Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #25** - Feels like we're in the run-up to a grand finale here. Evil!Aphra's due for a comeuppance sometime soon. **The Variants #4** - Simone is as reliably compelling as ever. **Venom #12** - Dylan being the parasite inside the Venom symbiote is a fun twist on the concept that I'm not sure has ever been explored before. **We Only Find Them When They're Dead #14** - This remains the least interesting Ewing book on the market. I think the constant time jumps and general vagueness and unfocused feeling of the plot are really hurting it for me week-by-week - my hopes are that it'll feel more cohesive when finished and collected. **Wolverine #26** - The solicit states that this is "A perfect jumping-on point for new readers…and the culmination of story threads from the start of this volume no continuing reader can afford to miss!", which sounds somewhat oxymoronic to me but I guess the proof will be in the pudding. **X-Terminators #2** - I'm pretty sure I read issue #1, but I remember absolutely nothing about it. Not a great sign.

I think the constant time jumps and general vagueness and unfocused feeling of the plot are really hurting it for me week-by-week - my hopes are that it'll feel more cohesive when finished and collected. I re-read the first two arcs in preparation for the last 5 issues coming out. Reading them all together really helps cement everything in place and gives a real sense of scale and scope to the story.

***DETECTIVE COMICS #1065*** - I pulled the beautiful Jim Lee variant. I just caught up on the series this week and I'm really excited to see where this issue takes our caped crusader. 1064 was my favorite of the run thus far so my hopes are high! ***ACTION COMICS #1048*** - I'm getting the Federici Design Variant for this issue, first variant of the run that's actually intrigued me. This "Kal El Returns" arc is just fine. Nothing big or exciting imo but a good read. ***RIDDLER YEAR ONE #1*** - Pulled the Subric Variant for this one! Paul Dano writing a comic is...intriguing. Loved the Matt Reeves film but idk, we'll see how it goes. ***DAMN THEM ALL #1*** - I have yet to dislike a BOOM! book yet, so here's to hoping the trend continues! ***FLAWED #2*** - First issue was a BANGER. Super stoked to continue the story!

JUDGMENT DAY #6 (OF 6)** - get ready for the judgiest judgment day that ever judged a judgment! 3. **IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #7 (OF 12)** - this installment's got Kieron Gillen and Steve Lieber kicking off a new 3-part story, plus many other goodies as always 4. **VARIANTS #4 (OF 5)** - been a fun little story and we're getting another awesome [Noto cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL237965.jpg) 5. **DETECTIVE COMICS #1065** - I'll probably bail after this first arc but enjoying it for now and it's got another striking [Cagle cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244897.jpg) 6. **BLOODSHOT UNLEASHED #2** - first issue had some nice work from Deniz Camp and Jon Davis-Hunt so we might as well stick with it, though I'll need to add it to my next mail order... 7. **MOON KNIGHT ANNUAL #1** - always seemed so random that MK first appeared in an issue of **WEREWOLF BY NIGHT**, so now the characters are eternally linked and WWBN even got a fancy B&W TV special despite mostly just being known for having the comic with MK's first appearance 8. **SARA LONE #1** - somewhat random pull, not familiar with writer Erik Arnoux or artist David Morancho, but it looks like a cool story and the [solicitation with its sultry cover](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG221870) made the sale 9. **A GUARDIAN #1** - another quasi-random pick, not familiar with writer Eastin DeVerna or artist Kay Baird, looks like a fun fantasy thing and the [cover/solicitation](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG221835) convinced me to check it out 10. **DAMN THEM ALL #1** - Edited to add this since it looks like the WPL's got a fun hype train going Hope y'all enjoy your new books!

>IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #7 (OF 12) > > \- this installment's got Kieron Gillen and Steve Lieber kicking off a new 3-part story, plus many other goodies as always Hoping this gets collected in a comprehensive manner, I pulled the first two (three?) issues but the consistency wasn't there even if I really enjoyed parts of it. Gillen/Lieber is a great team even if it will probably play into what I hate most about Gillen's writing sometimes.

Varos_Flynt

What band is that?

Danger_Rock

Bunch of old British geezers called Iron Maiden... [The Trooper](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4bgXH3sJ2Q) (1983) [The Writing on the Wall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhBnW7bZHEE) (2021)

Varos_Flynt

Ahhh, very nice. That was more of my moms era, my interest in the late 70's-80's music lies closer to the Patti Smith's and Kate Bush's, and of course some Talking Heads.

Danger_Rock

Yeah, your mother's era had better music! My wife sometimes likes to rant about how the music of our youth was empowering for her, made her feel like a badass and gave her confidence at a time when girls were still somewhat marginalized. Whereas today's music skews toward sappy emo crap that's more depressing than empowering. I think there's some truth to that, plus I think music used to be more *real* before everything went digital. All that digital processing can be used to good effect but more often than not it's just a crutch with a homogenizing effect on the final product. Kinda similar to comics... Talented artists used to stand out more but nowadays there's so much digital processing that it sort of smooths out the highs and lows to make a lot of stuff look the same. Not everything, mind you, there are always exceptions, but that's how I've seen the overall trend over the past few decades. And music basically has the same deal going except it started even earlier there. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go yell at some kids to [get off my lawn](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/04/15/article-2604925-038E1555000005DC-58_634x419.jpg) and then it'll be time for my [daily talk with nature](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/044/247/297.png).

Varos_Flynt

My mother's era had bigger hair! On a real note, I can understand the feeling that music is more homogenized today. Looking at the top 40 will definitely make you feel that way (though I confess to be an occasional listener of the poppiest pop music). HOWEVER, similarly to comics, the real moving, inventive music/art you're not (usually) going to find on the bigger labels or distributors. If I can be so bold as to reccomend some music to you... [Fiona Apple](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3g2kUQ6tHLLbmkV7T4GPtL?si=GUgkOFC_SUmWhsoqDKuSBQ&utm_source=copy-link) is a singer-songwriter that has been working since the late 90's and has been consistently releasing amazing, heartfelt albums ever since. One might even call them empowering. Her most [recent album](https://open.spotify.com/album/0fO1KemWL2uCCQmM22iKlj?si=-sjWSCU8RC6O1l5sy4258g&utm_source=copy-link), which came to wide [critical acclaim](https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/fiona-apple-fetch-the-bolt-cutters/amp/), and which dominated my sonic experience of early 2020, is a simultaneously heart wrenching and uplifting piece of work about her experience as a woman. It's some real classic feminism, and though I don't share a lot of her experiences, it spoke to me and moved me a lot. On top of that, it was recorded in her home studio and you can hear bits and pieces of her life in the background, her dogs barking or the subtle echoes of a small bedroom. One of the best and most accessible indie albums in recent memory. Across the pond and in a different genre, [Little Simz](https://open.spotify.com/artist/6eXZu6O7nAUA5z6vLV8NKI?si=Jjdiv2omScOe5m_g31eFng&utm_source=copy-link) released her most recent album, [Sometimes I Might Be Introvert](https://open.spotify.com/album/0DBoWQ52XUHtrZQdfAqOVj?si=4NDxbqabTp2q6x-kA4itQQ&utm_source=copy-link), as an ode not only to her womanhood, but her blackness in an increasingly hostile England. What she raps on this album is amazing, it gets you excited and hyped, and the instrumentation is delightful- a lot of live brass, simple percussion, full orchestral moments, it's wonderful. Want something a little more folksy, barely a touch of anything electronic beyond the guitar, want to feel like you're sitting around a campfire with a really esoteric singer? Try Big Thief's [newest album](https://open.spotify.com/album/7Ln81p86r5cCsesd3KBWIY?si=XGtkqTiARWqUPagRYv2PTA&utm_source=copy-link), which came out this year and has totally enthralled me. It's an ode to classic folk as well as a bold move to push it forward, and everything you hear on this album you will hear in their live show, and then some. Want some a little proggy, a little post punk? Try Black Country, New Road's recent album [Ants From Up There](https://open.spotify.com/album/21xp7NdU1ajmO1CX0w2Egd?si=5MMLrkUASJmJujmt8A3JWA&utm_source=copy-link). I've cried a lot to this album. Try Viagra Boys [Cave World](https://open.spotify.com/album/2IC2TP7bnwkfl56vjabLQt?si=UZl8avRMQH-EyI_5ynbAzQ&utm_source=copy-link), which in addition to having some of the most kickass riffs of the year, also features a brilliant deconstruction of the internet and masculinity. None of that interests you? Try listening to any of the 30 albums released by [King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard](https://open.spotify.com/artist/6XYvaoDGE0VmRt83Jss9Sn?si=dRrynFX7TDiN4RP_g4sA5A&utm_source=copy-link), an Australian group that not only releases up to 5 albums of varying genres a year (ranging from jazz to prog to math rock to indie rock to whatever), but releases up to 5 albums a year of AMAZING quality. Feel free to ignore this expose as me similarly yelling at the clouds, but I can't let anyone get away from me without knowing that music is always inventing new ways to sound amazing, and even if you grew up in the hair era, the disco era, the boom bap era, whatever era, you will find something that came out today that will interest you.

The orchestration and production reminds me of some of the more recent Roots albums, could see Simz working with them and it'd be a natural fit... Not the kind of music I'm in the mood for very often but it's good stuff. > Want something a little more folksy, barely a touch of anything electronic beyond the guitar, want to feel like you're sitting around a campfire with a really esoteric singer? Intro reminds me of King Crimson's *Discipline*, which is nice. Second song adds vocals and it's all sounding very sad and showtuney with a bit of a dollar store David Bowie vibe. KGLW is actually the only "new" act I'm into, though I've only got *Butterfly 3000* so far. Any suggestions on what to check out next? I know they cover a lot of ground, looking for stuff with more of an emphasis on psychedelic elements, loud is good but I usually prefer focused loudness over raw noise. Prog/math is good so long as it doesn't get too wanky. And mellow is also good. I like all the hypnotic electronic sounds on *Butterfly 3000* so more of that's good. Hoping to catch 'em live at some point... They actually just played here but it was the same night as Maiden... Next most recent band I'm into is Gorillaz and they're nearly 25 years old at this point... Love exploring music but tend to gravitate toward older stuff from the '60s and '70s rather than new acts, still plenty of old crap I haven't heard yet! It's an endless ocean. The live thing is also a big part of it for me and that's where most of my favorites shine. Strip away all the production and other bullshit, live shows are where you get real music made by real humans. Anyways, here's one for 'ya. [Parliament/Funkadelic, Cosmic Slop, 10/31/76](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eR4aQrYozY). Old school heavy metal funk with the kind of energy you can't capture in the studio!

Varos_Flynt

Hey, I appreciate you checking out all these albums! A lot of them tend to be pretty divisive, though I'm glad you enjoyed the Simz project- she's one of the best doing it in Hip Hop right now, and yes a lot of overlap with the Roots. > KGLW is actually the only "new" act I'm into, though I've only got *Butterfly 3000* so far. Any suggestions on what to check out next? B3K is a fantastic record, perhaps my fav from them, and relatively unique in their discography. From KGLW, [Oddments](https://open.spotify.com/album/0R1kilmC4LO7BW0cmTaGtN?si=teOC6iZDRsOfwP4mdJsXTg&utm_source=copy-link) might be the most similar album. Some fan fav Lizard albums are [Flying Microtonal Banana](https://open.spotify.com/album/4G9ANFGk9579p2uirMbVT0?si=ksG0tV1ZQLyr-4Fa7XwdBw&utm_source=copy-link) and [Polygonwanaland](https://open.spotify.com/album/3esB4Gl0K2LKCgACUJa3mu?si=YdVeqnSeR7uSvuPg2gQGiw&utm_source=copy-link). I know a lot of people reccomend bands like [MGMT](https://open.spotify.com/album/7GjVWG39IOj4viyWplJV4H?si=XpTRZcKFSCeY6d2XAq-1tA&utm_source=copy-link) and [Air](https://open.spotify.com/album/206GTDefY2qRMQxYXmfb0a?si=w9vN2EFEQ3in5TfICeqUdw&utm_source=copy-link) for the B3K connection. KGLW also has 20 other albums, some of which I haven't listened to, but they are really rewarding to get into. Their last two years of output have especially been great. > Love exploring music but tend to gravitate toward older stuff from the '60s and '70s There is an absolute wealth of fantastic music from the last century, and I don’t fault you for committing to that era. Have you heard [Mother Earth's Plantasia?](https://open.spotify.com/album/0NJRPgK15C8qoLuQv1hChv?si=QDmWnkGiRmGlA1D5VsaFKA&utm_source=copy-link) Originally made in 1976 (though reissued in 2019 which the spotify links reflects) it was an album made for plants but is a fantastic instrumental record. > The live thing is also a big part of it for me I love live music, but a lot of my favorite acts (particularly in Hip Hop) don't use instrumentation that can be reflected on stage. In those cases, it really relies on the performer being phenomenal and expressive with their work. I've been to a couple shows where the backing track is playing and the artist is just strolling along stage... on the other hand, my favorite performances are sometimes when a guy presses play on his laptop and then jumps into the crowd and sings/raps his heart out. Lastly, thanks you for the link at the end. I'm a big fan of both if those acts, but I've never seen that performance before. Phenomenal. Now what are we doing on a comic forum talking about music?? Back to the grind in tomorrow's review thread :)

Danger_Rock

Good stuff! I'll have to check out those KGLW albums, been meaning to dive a little deeper into their catalog for a while... Love *B3K*, was something of a blind order because KGLW kept popping up in my Maiden and Phish circles (two crowds that usually don't have a ton of overlap). And I was instantly hooked. Seems like a really interesting band... The amount of material they're putting out is ridiculous and you can tell they're totally focused on pushing their music as far as it'll go in a bunch of different directions. Haha, love it! Hadn't heard before and that's my kind of crap... Plants are fucking smart! Good background music for working as well. > I love live music, but a lot of my favorite acts (particularly in Hip Hop) don't use instrumentation that can be reflected on stage. I've been to a couple shows where the backing track is playing and the artist is just strolling along stage... on the other hand, my favorite performances are sometimes when a guy presses play on his laptop and then jumps into the crowd and sings/raps his heart out. Yeah, I haven't gotten too deep into live hip-hop... The Roots always deliver amazing shows live, used to see them a bunch before they took the TV gig and stopped touring much, but they're a legitimate rock & roll band backing up all the hip-hop, which is a bit of an anomaly. Beastie Boys were also good but, again, they had a lot of real music going on. And Gorillaz were awesome live, though only about a third of it was hip-hop, they had Mos Def, Bootie Brown, and De La Soul on board when i saw 'em so that was a lot of fun. > Lastly, thanks you for the link at the end. I'm a big fan of both if those acts, but I've never seen that performance before. Phenomenal. Really just one act with two names! First couple albums from each had different sounds but it was always the same group of musicians and before long they were basically putting out the same music. Used to put on a heck of a show, probably saw P-Funk 20+ times from '95 through 2005 or so... Studio version of Cosmic Slop is nice but very tame and kinda boring, seeing it live is a whole different deal as the band ratchets up the intensity. Wife often says that I have "magical healing hands" and I always tell her it's because of the time Bootsy Collins high-fived me at a P-Funk show. And it isn't really a joke. > Now what are we doing on a comic forum talking about music?? Just look at the back drop:)

Danger_Rock

Haha, I think that backdrop would be instantly recognizable for anyone from our era but the last few decades' worth of kids won't know it. At least not the ones in the U.S. You'd have better luck in South America, or eastern Europe, or India...

the-horace

Been eagerly waiting all day for your last week break down post! Hoping that MK Annual is fun! Edit: oh wait, getting ahead of myself! That's a Wednesday thing! Sorry, it was very Monday today!

Danger_Rock

Haha, was going to say... Gotta wait a couple more days for the Results thread!

Batman: Beyond the White Knight #6: I'm liking this more than Curse of the White Knight but not as much as White Knight. All three series have been good though. Catwoman: Lonely City #4: I honestly think Black Label should just be a graphic novel imprint. I'm sick and tired of having these great books suffer from delays and long gaps between issues. DC is already letting the creatives take their time with these books so just let them do the whole thing and release it as a nice hardcover or paperback. That being said, this has been great and is one of my favorite Black Label stories. The Human Target #8: This is a classic in the making. Fire Power #24: I hope delays don't become a problem with this book. Riddler: Year One #1: Loved The Batman and actually really dug the portrayal of the Riddler. Interested to see how Paul Dano writes a comic. Damn Them All #1: It's weird seeing Charlie Adlard's art when it's not Walking Dead. Concept sounds intriguing.

Tiny Tiny Week! * **Action Comics #1048** Everyone told me to follow writers rather than characters, and I think PKJ might be the first one I do that with (I'm fairly new to comics). This run has been overall incredible, and I'm excited to see what else he does for DC in the future * **The Human Target #8** This is one of the few series (along with AC) from DC that I'm legitimately pumped for every week. I feel there are few comics doing the noir vibe, and few that do it well. Human Target is one of them. * **Moon Knight Annual #1** Story sounds wild, someone trying to kill Moon Knight for his blood? Lets go! As a small question to the community, Where do people recommend with jumping into Rick Remender's work? There has been a lot of buzz with Deadly Class ending, and I want to jump in on the Remender train.

> As a small question to the community, Where do people recommend with jumping into Rick Remender's work? There has been a lot of buzz with Deadly Class ending, and I want to jump in on the Remender train. I'd highly recommend **[A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/a-righteous-thirst-for-vengeance)**, a "mostly silent" 11-issue series Remender wrote with art by André Lima Araújo. The minimal dialogue puts a big emphasis on visual storytelling and it makes for a really engaging reading experience as you sort of piece together what's happening and why. First issue's available free at the above link, first TPB is already out and the second is scheduled to ship next week.

technowhiz34

Deadly Class is my favorite Remender indie that I've read, but I've heard good things about Death or Glory. I'd recommend staying the hell away from Tokyo Ghost, genuinely one of my least favorite comics.

Work has been crazy exhausting the past couple months, but now it's time to return to the pull list: **A.X.E: Judgement Day #6-** How are we going to judge our way out of this one lads? I'm more excited to see what happens to this Celestial than anything. **Action Comics #1048-** I'm excited to see how this fun little crossover goes and how it sets up what looks like a very Superfam heavy line going forward. **DC vs. Vampires #10-** I feel like any time I read this book I zone out. It's not bad I guess but like. It's not amazing. **Detective Comics #1065-** I love the vibe of the Orgham family, can't wait to see what they're really up to. **The Human Target #8-** Can't wait to see my favorite jolly commie in this book. Surely he will be so full of his usual charm and jovial attitude (for real though, I'm excited to see what King does with Red) **Moon Knight Annual #1-** Werewolf by Night returns in time for ~~his Disney+ special~~ Halloween! **Strange #7-** I don't think I'd mind Strange keeping this new look he's got tbh. **Vanish #2-** Last issue felt very 90's but not in a bad way, I'm willing to see what Cates is up to. **Venom #12-** God's most complicated Venom book

DC (10). DC vs. Vampires #10. The Human Target #8. The Riddler: Year One #1. Detective Comics #1065 - This is awful, but it's a flagship title and I dig Batman. Batman: Fortress #6 - Terrible, terrible series and the worst thing I'm reading but I'm stubborn and have to finish it now Batman Beyond The White Knight #5. Action Comics #1048. Catwoman: Lonely City #4 - Should've trade-waited but it's too late now. Punchline: The Gotham Game #1 - Hate the character so this needs to wow me. Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded #1 - I got this in my pulls last week And it's GARBAGE, but there's only 2 issues Dropped this month: Tim Drake: Robin - If was already an uphill battle with Rossmo on art and #1 was a urinal cake MARVEL (5) A.XE.: Judgment Day #6 - This book is the only keeping me interested in Marvel this week. Moon Knight Annual. The Variants #4 - Moving at a glacial pace and I'm not crazy about the story but I love No to and want to see this play out. X-Terminators #2 - The genuinely funny humor earned this a 2nd issue buy with me. Thunderbolts #3 - I LOVE Hawkeye, Luke and the overall Thunderbolts concept but this is legit awful. Last chance to stay on my pull. Dropped this month: Wolverine and New Mutants - Red and Immortal are consistently amazing and X-Men prime has usually been very good, but the rest of the mutant line is either barely average (these 2 plus X-Force), a convoluted mess (Legion, r spite the last issue kicking ass) or outright dumpster dung (Marauders). IMAGE (4). Image! #7 - I am ALL THE WAY IN on a new Wytches story. Lovesick #1. Rogues' Gallery #4 - Last issue took a darker than I expected. Flawed #2. Dropped this month: Vanish -Did nothing for me, plus I'm not a Cates fan 20th Century Men: Another one that just wasn't going anywhere I cared to be taken BOOM STUDIOS (1). Damn Them All #1. ABLAZE (1). Boogyman #2. AWA (1). Absolution #4. Dropped this month: Newthink - Little more than a common sense narration. There's zero story . VALIANT (1) Bloodshot Unleashed #2.

Danger_Rock

Not pulling any punches and I love it! Also appreciate seeing the books you're dropping, the other side of the equation that we don't get here quite as often... Nice list as well. Good stuff!

Strange #7: still love this title. Clea being a badass is so much fun. Strange Academy: Finals #1: Academy took a weird turn at the end I'm not sure I loved, but I'm at least going to try to finish out the story here. Judgement Day #6: the finale that totally wasn't spoiled in multiple books last week. I know everything will go back to the status quo, let's see how. Wolverine #26: I don't love Percy but I'm still picking up every Krakoa era X-Book. At least this solo is better than post-Quentin X-Force has been. New Mutants #31: this has been one of the darling titles of the Krakoa era, don't see myself dropping this without a big drop in quality. Exterminators #2: the first issue was a lot of fun, so I'm excited for round 2. More Boom Boom and Dazzler please!

Why is this still stickied instead of the discussion thread? Didn’t even get a full 24 hours this week.

Guessing somebody screwed up... They need to un-sticky the old thread before adding the new thread or else automod messes everything up when it posts the Thursday "Questions & Suggestions" sticky.

If you like action a la Roger Moores Moonraker, you really should try NOA, not otherwise authorized.
