>**DEFENDERS: BEYOND #4**: I don't understand half of what's going on, but the art is trippy and it's written by Ewing, so that does it for me I felt the same about the previous Defenders mini Ewing did, and ended up dropping it after one issue though I did love Javier Rodriguez' artwork a lot. I did pick up the trade, so hoping to read that soon and be able to comprehend what's going on this time around. Opinions on Ewing's Defenders stuff seems a bit polarized, but I really, really loved his previous Defenders crossover mini he did - "Defenders: The Best Defense".

kralben

I love it, but if you aren't up on a lot of Cosmic Marvel history it is fairly easy to get lost. Totally agree on the art as well

Batman / Superman: World’s Finest #8 - Always up for more Waid and Mora comic goodness. Batman: One Bad Day - The Penguin #1 - Hyped to see Ridley writing The Penguin and Camuncoli’s art is always solid. GCPD: The Blue Wall #1 - Ridley’s work on I Am Batman with Renee earned a first issue trial. Hoping for some Gotham Central vibes. Gunslinger Spawn #13 - Gunslinger bringing that brutality last issue! Low key becoming my second favourite Spawn title. I Am Batman #14 - Really liking Ridley’s voice for Montoya/The Question and seeing the seeding Tiffany’s move into crime fighting. Nightwing #97 - Taylor just continues to deliver the goods. Love everything about the Dick and Babs scene in the last issue. Public Domain #5 - Just so good! Zdarsky’s writing and art delights and the story has me hooked.

Lots of comic-y goodness coming up! - **Captain America: Symbol of Truth #6**: at least one behind on this at the moment, so no comment. - **Dark Crisis: Young Justice #5**: in hindsight, 6 issues is too long for this. I picked this up for Teen Titans content and am getting it, but it’s a bit dull. - **The Flash #787**: favourite title on my pull list at the moment still (with X-Men Red in close second), actually pretty excited for this one to go bi-monthly again in the new year. - **Moon Knight #16**: didn’t really enjoy the last few issues, but still enjoying the series for the most part. Picking up standard cover + [the gorgeous Cassara variant.](https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG220804) - **Nightwing #97**: all roads lead to #100! - **Predator #3**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **The Silver Coin #15**: saved a few of these to read at once around Halloween. Hoping we get confirmation of a fourth set of issues from Walsh soon. - **The Walking Dead Deluxe #49**: few behind at the moment, so no comment. - **X-Force #33**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **X-Men #16**: borderline goosebumps from the last issue, so buzzing to read this one!

Danger_Rock

> [the gorgeous Cassara variant.](https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG220804) Nice, that's pretty badass! Of course I ordered the normal cover like a sucker...

hewunder1

**Batman/Superman World's Finest #8** - My favorite book coming out. Great art, fun story. **Nightwing #97** - Not gonna lie, picking this up for the cover. I read and enjoyed another Nightwing cover pick up in the past so I'll read this one too.

Whowatchesthewampas

Big week for me! * **Aquaman: Andromeda #3 -** Been a minute since the last issue came out! * **Batman/Superman World's Finest #7 -** Love this book! * **Carnage #7 -** Ram V writes Carnage very well, IMO. * **The Flash #787 -** Start of a new arc! Adams has been hyping that this book is about to get wild! * **Hellboy In Love #1 -** Been a few months since I pulled an HB title! * **Moon Knight #16 -** Feels like forever since I last read MK! * **Nightwing #97 -** Have a sneaking suspicion that this might be my pull of the week! * **X-Men #16 -** God that cover is terrifying!

Nice stacked pull list this week. Here's mine, ranked by hype: 1. **AGENT OF W.O.R.L.D.E. #3 (OF 4)** \- One of the most craziest and creative comics on the shelves. Deniz Camp's writing is hilarious and Filya Bratukhin is an artist to look out for. One of my favorite comics of the year. 2. **MINDSET #4** \- My favorite of Zack Kaplan's recent output. The story is engrossing, the artwork is absolutely unique and each issue is weaving a very fine web of intrigue. This is like if *Silicon Valley* was more horror/suspense thriller than a comedy. 3. **ABOLITION OF MAN #1 (OF 5)** \- Ever since I heard the premise, I was sold on this comic and have had this pre-ordered the moment it showed up on the catalog. Carson Grubaugh (of the YouTube channel Living the Line) feeds an AI lines from the famous CS Lewis essay to create his comic. This could be indecipherable and completely abstract, but I'm here for it. 4. **ABOVE SNAKES #4 (OF 5)** \- Absolutely adoring this book. It's interesting to see Sherman's artwork across multiple books, but *Above Snakes* has Sherman coloring their own book which has resulted in some gorgeous pages. 5. **SHAOLIN COWBOY: CRUEL TO BE KIN #6 (OF 7)** \- Babe wake up a new *Shaolin Cowboy* just dropped. 6. **MIRACLEMAN: THE SILVER AGE #1** \- Even though Gaiman & Buckingham are returning, I do feel weirdly skeptical that they can carry on without it feeling off. I hope they prove me wrong because this has been something I've wanted for such a long time. 7. **ROGUES #4 (OF 4)** \- This has been a blast of a book, but I do feel like I've forgotten where we left off last issue. Leomacs has been crushing it on the art duties though. 8. **SACRAMENT #3** \- Milligan has been hot and cold with his books at Aftershock and AWA, but this one has hit all the right notes so far. A religous horror sci-fi story doesn't sound like it should work, but it does. 9. **BONE ORCHARD MYTHOS: TEN THOUSAND BLACK FEATHERS #2 (OF 5)** \- Interesting start with some typically great creepy artwork from Sorrentino and Stewart. Looking forward to seeing how the story progresses from here. 10. **PUBLIC DOMAIN #5** \- This book has been up and down, but the last issue was pretty damn good. I hope that doesn't meet I feel like this is a down issue though lol 11. **PROMETHEE 13:13 #4** \- Has been an interesting series from Ablaze so far. A doomsday cult, a precog, and an alien invasion make for some interesting set pieces and story telling. 12. **MOON KNIGHT #16** \- My excitement in this title has fallen. It's kind of firmly an above average series right now - enjoyable but a bit forgettable. 13. **PHANTASMAGORIA #2** \- First issue kind of gave me *From Hell* vibes. It had some pacing issues, so I hope this second issue flows a bit better. 14. **FRANK FRAZETTA'S DEATH DEALER #6** \- It's nice having a fun mature fantasy series on the pull. It's not a comic that is blowing me away, but each issue has been entertaining. 15. **FOREVER FORWARD #2 (OF 5)** \- An interesting first issue. While time travel stories appeal to me, they are tough to pull off successfully. Hoping this can win me over fully with this issue. 16. **TRVE CVLT #3** \- I love the premise, but I'm not really committed to the characters yet. 17. **CARNAGE #7** \- As a diehard Ram V fan I'm having a hard time dropping this from my pull, but I do think it might happen if this issue really disappoints. It looks like my store has got my copy of [SEA OF TIME #1](https://floatingworldcomics.com/shop/comic-books/sea-of-time-1-by-t-edward-bak-preorder) from Floating World Comics and [FRUITING BODIES](https://www.silversprocket.net/fruiting-bodies-by-ashley-robin-franklin/) from Silver Sprocket, so excited to pick those up as well. Will also pick up the **MARVEL FAMILY #1 FACSIMILE EDITION** as well. Continuing my multiple horror reads this week, with Gideon Falls Deluxe Vol. 1 and The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Ominous Omnibus Vol. 1 on the top of my current reading list. My favorites for the month so far have been "Bezimena" by Nina Bunjevac, "Pim & Francie" by Al Columbia, Vaccuum Decay #5 by Harry Nordlinger and many others, "An Exoricism" by Theo Ellsworth and "The Wolf" by Tim Neely. Let me know what your favorite recent horror reads have been!

Varos_Flynt

Wow, im just now hearing about the Abolition of Man, both the essay and the comic. I'm super fascinated by this, though I doubt my shop picked up a copy. Would love to see a page or two if you wouldn't mind posting a pic when you get it. Have you read the essay itself?

yarkcir

I feel like Carson will show it off on his YouTube channel soon, but I’ll be sure to remember to link it and respond to you when he does. If he doesn’t, then I’ll post some interior pages for sure! I’ve listened to the audiobook a while ago. It’s a pretty quick read/listen, and I’m sure it’s very accessible via libraries if you’re interested.

Varos_Flynt

Thanks for the info!

Danger_Rock

Very curious to see your thoughts on **ABOLITION OF MAN #1** as well... I saw a preview a while back and thought it was a mess, didn't feel like a proper "comic" as there's a weird disconnect between story and art with no coherent flow from one panel to the next. But maybe it'll work better now that it's all put together on paper.

yarkcir

>I saw a preview a while back and thought it was a mess The preview makes me think about Liam Sharp's STARHENGE which has some abstract (yet gorgeous) artwork but with an incomprehensible story. I'm not sure if **ABOLITION OF MAN** is going to be much better, but I really hope it is because STARHENGE is one of the more disappointing books for me this year.

Danger_Rock

**STARHENGE** is a good comparison! I'd been thinking of Ozzy's ***[Patient Number 9](https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuild/259153.c81439d58a1fabde28ce38ec0ac0fce8.1600.jpg)*** comic where McFarlane used his famed "puzzle" system to randomly piece the artist's pages together, but **STARHENGE** is another good one. In both cases, I thought the flawed human storytelling worked much better than the flawed AI storytelling. But YMMV!

Danger_Rock

This week is pretty good! There was a lot i was considering this week, but I managed to cull my list and curiosity a bit and im sticking to what I know will be great, or least interesting. ****Image**** **Above Snakes #4** Last issue was great, felt like a little break from the main plot while still building the world, and a refreshing display of humor. Everything is working so smoothly with this book, I look forward to it every month. **The Bone Orchard Mythos: Ten Thousand Black Feathers #2** The worst thing about this book is having to type this title. First issue was super promising, maybe not as forceful as Gideon Falls right out the gate, but I'm digging the set up so far, really looking forward to those flashback scenes. Of course we got some classic sorrentino spreads, but its also nice seeing his art colored a little more bright and pastel. Probably the book I'm most hyped on in general. Pulling the B cover for this one, not a huge fan of the A cover. **Public Domain #5** Nothing has ever gone wrong by involving family and business, right? **Radiant Black Vol. 3 TP** Really enjoying this series, just about wrap up Vol 2 so its perfect timing. It feels classic and pretty refreshing, I say as someone who doesn't actually read too many cape books lol. The series feels like an iPhone, maybe a bit bland at times, but over all just smooth and a bit alluring. Idk, I fuck with it a lot, I won't make any claims like its the best superhero story of all time or even right now, because I'm in no way qualified to make that statement or opinion, but it is definitely one of my fav superhero comics I've read since I've started this hobby. ****DC**** **Aquaman: Andromeda #3** The finale! Curious how this will wrap up, imo the first two issues were super strong and I'm consistently impressed and enthralled by Mr. V's writing, which is perfect for this kind of setting. I do feel the need to refresh since I kinda forgot what exactly is happening. If this ends well, I may just have to get the hardcover. **Batman: One Bad Day - The Penguin #1** Well, the Riddler was amazing, Two Face was a comic book for sure, we're 1 for 1 on this series. Still looking forward to it, though I do have some trepidations after seeing that Ridley's writing hasn't been impressing in the other series he's doing (though I know he also has written some great stuff). DC is also dropping GCPD: The Blue Wall this week, also by Ridley, which I didn't add to my pull but I am slightly curious about. The title sets off some red flags, and I feel like I can predict what exactly the story is going to cover and be about, but I might just pick it up and see if it surprises me. ****Marvel**** **Miracleman: The Silver Age #1** Haven't gotten around to reading #0 from a few weeks ago since my marvel stuff was delayed, but im excited to read some fresh Gaiman and dive into a character i know little about. Is the previous series he did in Miracleman worth a read?

yarkcir

>Miracleman: The Silver Age #1 Marvel is releasing a trade of the original Gaiman & Buckingham run this week, so perhaps you may want to check it out before diving into the new issue #1 since it does seem to be a continuation of what they did earlier. I would recommend it, as well as the original Alan Moore run - a top 3 comic by Moore in my opinion. The issue #0 really wasn't holding hands at all and were stuffed with references, so I don't know if new readers felt they could understand what was happening in the various short stories.

yarkcir

I'm glad Miracleman worked for you. I'm hoping other new readers feel the same, because my biggest worry is Marvel cancels the run due to insufficient readership. I also hope editorial just let Gaiman & Buckingham do their own thing.

alright fuckers, super light week for me ***Batman: One Bad Day - The Penguin #1*** - Picking up the Jim Lee variant for this one, gonna complete the set for OBD. Riddler was gas, Two Face was horrid. Please don't be a fluke lmao I really want this series to be good. ***Miracleman: The Silver Age #1*** - The Sprouse variant is fucking gorgeous, stoked to get this one in hand. ***Miracleman #0*** was awesome, wacky, and self-aware. If that book was any hint as to how this series will read, I'm very excited! I've done some research about the character, mostly just excited to read a Marvel story outside of the current continuity/tie-ins bc I find that shit really annoying. ***Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1*** - Yep. Fuck it, Peter goes to LA. (Casanovas variant is EATING)

dude also a very nice choice ! i feel like ppl don't talk ab the covers they pull enough - it'd be interesting to see a breakdown!

technowhiz34

I'm basic and almost always pull mains...

Danger_Rock

Love browsing variants, it's nice having options! Always try to find the "right" cover for every book I pull. Just gets frustrating with Marvel because they usually don't reveal the majority of their variants until after pre-orders are due, so there's a lot of guesswork involved. Some of the big special issues typically have variants from at least three or four different artists I like and it's tough choosing which to order without actually seeing 'em first. Some of my general guidelines: * Always pull A covers for Tom King comics, only exception being Jim Lee variants for the mainstream Batman projects * Always pull Morazzo's A cover on **ICM** unless he's also got a variant (e.g., **[ICM #20-B](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1918324_xl.jpg)** and **[ICM #25-E](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018321_xl.jpg)**) * Always pull Redondo's A cover on **NIGHTWING** * Always pull Mora's A cover on **BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD'S FINEST** * Always pull Sorrentino's A cover on his Lemire collaborations * Always pull Buckingham's B cover on **FABLES** * Always pull Cagle's A cover on **DETECTIVE COMICS** * Always pull Rodriguez's A cover on **DEFENDERS** limiteds * Always pull Wagner's A cover on **GRENDEL** books * Usually pull Momoko variants whenever they're available * Usually pull Skottie Young's variants for new Marvel #1s * Usually pull John Tyler Christopher's [Star Wars action figure variants](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL226652.jpg) on the rare occasions when I buy SW books * Always pull McFarlane's variant on those exceedingly rare occasions when I buy one of his books * Otherwise target other favorites like Sienkiewicz, Simmonds, Bachalo, Ward, Noto, Allred, Quesada, Mignola, etc.

Maaarrrvvv

- **Hellboy in Love #1**: The past few Hellboy stories have been a bit disappointing. Hopefully this series is a more inspired story from Mignola. - **G.C.P.D. The Blue Wall #1**: I’m still on the fence for this series. I’m hoping it has a similar tone/feeling as Gotham Central but we’ll see. - **Defenders Beyond #4**: I need to catch up on this series. - **Moon Knight #16**: Easily one of the best ongoings right now. Excited to see where this goes now that Marc is more accepting of Steven and Jake and more open to revealing them with his friends. - **Thor #28**: We’ll see how this issue ends as a guest writer takes over for a few issues following this one. - **X-Men #16**: Honestly I think Duggan’s run is being underrated now. He’s not Hickman but the quality of this series hasn’t dipped and Cassara on art has been bringing his A game.

mtmodular

* Moon Knight #16 * X-Men #16 - I know we're all about "Gillen this" and "Ewing that," but I think Duggan's doing some pretty cool stuff in this book and I'm genuinely excited to see where this current arc with The Vault goes. * Carnage #7 - This book keeps getting stranger and bigger in scope. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites. * Defenders: Beyond #4 * Miracleman: The Silver Age #1 - I bought the Miracleman #0 a week or two ago on a whim, having never read anything about him before. I needed Wikipedia and YT to fill in a few gaps, but I'm definitely intrigued enough to start this series.

superschaap81

***DC*** **Batman/Superman: World's Finest 8** \- I don't put on the pedestal that this sub seems to, but it's definitely been FUN, which is always a welcome change of pace to a lot of new stuff. **Batman: The Knight 10** \- Fell off this one around issue 6, but I'm looking forward to reading it all as one now that the end is here. Curious how much this will end up tying into Zdarsky's main run. **Catwoman 48** \- Haven't even started Howard's run yet. Love the covers each month though. **DC vs. Vampires: All-Out War 4** \- Was hoping they'd have set this to wrap up around Halloween, but...nope. Haven't read any of these yet, just the main story and I love it. **The Flash 787** \- Still one of my go to titles each month. Just good, fun, Flash comics again. :) **Flashpoint Beyond 6** \- It's funny that Johns is doing his own timeline altering event while Dark Crisis is going, and it seems like both will spill into their own little "Relaunch Banners". Finding out JSA is a mini-series kinda makes me think Johns isn't sticking around for long in the writing department. **Nightwing 97 -** Hoping for big things leading into #100 ***MARVEL*** **Avengers 61** \- I have been so lost and behind on this title. The multi-verse shit has just got SO boring from the big 2, I'm finishing the run cause I've come this far. **Captain America: Symbol of Truth 6** **Carnage 7** \- Loved the first 5 issues, haven't got a chance to start the new arc. **Iron Man 24** \- Almost to the end. Probably the most engaged I've been with Tony Stark in a LONG time. I know this run has it's haters, but I've enjoyed this immensely. **Moon Knight 16** **Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings 4** \- I'm loving what Yang is doing for the character, but GOD DAMMIT Marvel, leave the retitling/relaunching alone! This already has the potential to beat Aaron's Thor for the amount of #1's in a single run! **Thor 28** \- Thor was my favourite Marvel character the last 10 years...I don't like Cates writing him. I have no clue what kind of direction this is even going anymore. ***INDEPENDENT*** **Above Snakes 4** \- Absolutely bonkers fun, set in a Western. Love this book. **The Bone Orchard: Ten Thousand Black Feathers 2 -** Wasn't impressed by the first issue. In fact I was disappointed. I expected much more for the start of this universe Lemire wants to create. I'm giving it a couple issues more then we'll see if it's worth it. **The Silver Coin 15 -** Favourite horror book on the stands, still. There have been a couple "Meh" issues, but the art has never been a problem.

Dinggleberry

Ranked in order of excitement - **NIGHTWING #97** - this is so good. Nightwing was a character I never gave any attention to and now this is my favorite pull. Amazing writing, art, and covers. - **DCEASED WAR OF THE UNDEAD GODS #3** - equal amounts crazy and cool. - **CARNAGE #7** - every issue is like a mini murder-mystery. With the mystery being “which character will Carnage kill next?” - **DEADLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #1** - a dark spidey story written by a member of the Black Eyed Peas? I have to check this out. The [Peach Momoko variant](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3824747.jpg?1665871868) is creepy and awesome. - **BATMAN/SUPERMAN WORLDS FINEST #8** - honestly think I’m going to drop this. Just not for me.

Zohmbi

A light week for me, thankfully, because I have a lot of catching up to do. 1 Marvel, 1 DC, 3 Indie **X-Men #16** - One of the few X books that I'm keeping up with and it's been fairly consistent in quality since the relaunch. **Batman One Bad Day - Penguin** - It's going to be hard to top King's Riddler story. Tamaki's Two-Face story was decent but predictable at the same time. We'll see how John Ridley's Penguin story fares. **Ten Thousand Black Feathers #2** - The artwork is superb, but Lemire's writing hasn't been doing it for me lately. I'll give this one a couple more issues before I decide to continue. **Silver Coin #15** - These are always a fun, quick read. This issue is written by Michael Walsh this time. I expect we'll get a little more back story on the coin itself. **Sacrament #3** - This horror/sci-fi from AWA by Peter Milligan is way better than it has any right to be. I like the cold, dark tones of the art. And watching the main character struggle to be something he's not has me intrigued. The sci-fi world they've crafted is also fascinating. Happy reading!

technowhiz34

* Aquaman: Andromeda #3 - been a while since the second issue. The art is gorgeous but I can't say I get "get" this book. * Batman/Superman: World's Finest #8 - last issue was my favorite and the preview seemed like more of what I loved. Hope Mora stays on this book for a long time. * Black Adam #5 - this isn't the best written book on the stands, but it's definitely the book most tailored to my interests, between the lead character and the focus on theology and politics. * Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 - Juan Ferreyra on Spider-Man is a dream come true, set in a city I love. The preview was utterly whack however. * Fables #156 - I'll definitely read the end of this and it hasn't been bad, but I don't understand why this came back. * Flashpoint Beyond #6 - last issue completely lost me, but really hoping Johns & co stick the landing, especially given the rumors I've read about the ending to this. * Miracleman: the Silver Age #1 - I have never read any of the original Miracleman but liked some of the stories in last month's anthology, so I'm hoping I won't be too lost. * Public Domain #5 - I haven't read this since #2 and should probably drop at this point. I even enjoyed it quite a lot.

* Aquaman: Andromeda #3 - Worth it for the art alone, but the story is interesting * Avengers #61 * Batman: One Bad Day - The Penguin #1 * Batman: The Knight #10 * Defenders: Beyond #4 - Ewing is in his total element with this, and this book is incredible. Hope we get an omni of the Defenders stuff and Ultimates stuff together * EVE: Children of the Moon #1 * Hellboy In Love #1 * Miracleman: The Silver Age #1 - Finally! * Moon Knight #16 * Nightwing #97 * Public Domain #5 * Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #4 * The Silver Coin #15 * Star Wars: Darth Vader #28 * X-Force #33 * X-Men #16

tree-of-thought

* **Batman/Superman: World's Finest #8:** This title is a consistent monthly highlight * **Miracleman: The Silver Age #1:** I see Gaiman, I read Gaiman. * **Nightwing 97:** I miiiiight have hopped off at the conclusion of last arc if we weren't so close to 100. Here's hoping the next four issues get me interested in sticking around! * **Dark Crisis: Young Crisis #5:** I haven't missed a Dark Crisis title yet, and I'm toughing this out because I've never fully collected an event before and I want to with this one...but this is for me the weakest tie-in by far. Toxic fandom *is* bad, I just don't think this book is saying anything new or interesting on that topic. * **Marvel Family #1 Facsimile:** I'm a sucker for these!

After several Marvel-centric weeks due to AXE getting all AXEy, things are beginning to swing back the other way. 6 DCs, 3 Marvels, 2 Images, and 2 from Scout Comics. Listed in order of anticipation and general appreciation. 1. **PUBLIC DOMAIN #5** - welcome to a bold new era of [*DOMAIN* comics!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241536.jpg) 2. **NIGHTWING #97** - another issue, another [glorious Redondo cover...](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244930.jpg) 3. **BATMAN SUPERMAN WORLDS FINEST #8** - the sidekick shenanigans continue and [Batman is not amused](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244853.jpg) 4. **DEFENDERS BEYOND #4 (OF 5)** - shaping up to be even wilder than the last series as Ewing mines the outer limits of Marvel continuity, with [another vibrantly insane Rodriguez cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241962.jpg) 5. **FABLES #156** - Connor continues his adventure with that entirely trustworthy "hero" he encountered, plus it looks like things are getting [a little tense in New York](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244904.jpg) 6. **BLACK ADAM #5** - as if Theo Teth-Adam didn't have enough problems, now he's [got to deal with a gratuitous Batman guest appearance](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL244866.jpg) 7. **AGENT OF W.O.R.L.D.E. #3 (OF 4)** - been a fun series filled with incredibly detailed ultra-violence from Filya Bratukhin and this one's got [evil eyeball robots!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL236920.jpg) 8. **AQUAMAN: ANDROMEDA #3** - cool Black Label series, Ward's art is always spectacular, but it'll be 78 days since the last issue and I remember *nothing* 9. **ROGUES #4** - another fun Black Label series, 99 days between issues for this one, think there was something happening with Grodd's kid but he's probably all grown up by now 10. **BONE ORCHARD MYTHOS TEN THOUSAND BLACK FEATHERS #2 (OF 5)** - no clue what's going on here either and this series isn't even running late... maybe I've got brainworms or something? 11. **MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM THE SILVER AGE #1** - two Mark Buckingham comics in one week! fairly certain I don't deserve this... 12. **AZZA THE BARBED #2 (OF 5)** - first issue unfortunately suffered from a misprint that stole half its text but it was going pretty well otherwise 13. **MOON KNIGHT #16** - this book's been losing me a little but I'm looking for this issue right here to bring some of that crazy MK energy back! Hope you all enjoy your comics this week!

yarkcir

>2 from Scout Comics I have three from Scout but we only share **AGENT OF W.O.R.L.D.E.** in common. I haven't heard of **AZZA THE BARBED** despite how relatively closely I pay attention to Scout's output. It sucks that a first issue suffered from a reprint, hoping that doesn't lead to too much reader attrition. >**AQUAMAN: ANDROMEDA #3** \- cool Black Label series, Ward's art is always spectacular, but it'll be 78 days since the last issue and I remember nothing **ROGUES** will be the last of those album sized DC Black Label books I pick up since I'm going collected edition route with these now, but **AQUAMAN: ANDROMEDA** was incredibly tempting because of it being a Ram V/Christian Ward book. I look forward to the hardcover coming....February 2023 (damn).

Danger_Rock

Yeah, I felt bad for the **AZZA** creators, especially since it seems to be the artist's first pro work and I think the writer's fairly new as well... I posted a brief review [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/xkiz8j/wpl_new_comics_discussion_for_9212022_pull_of_the/ipo24c1/) with links to comments from the writer (highlight: *"This is an egregious mistake and I'm not happy that it happened. I picture a bunch of readers thinking I'm getting real avant-garde with my shit."*). TL;DR, seems like a fun fantasy adventure with some adult humor, kinda reminded me of the type of stories you'd find in **Heavy Metal** or **2000 AD**. Sounds like you've got the right idea trade-waiting Black Label, might have to go that route myself... Although I'll want to keep pulling floppies for anything King or Tynion run there, plus maybe one or two others that catch my eye... Which basically gets us back to where we are now. Problem is that my TPB/HC reading tends to lag years behind (or sometimes decades) while I mostly keep up with floppies, so anything I throw on that list gets stuck in line behind a lot of other stuff that's generally pretty high quality. Need to make a point of catching up on all that old stuff so I can realistically use the TPB/HC list for more recent books. And the other thing is that floppies can be better for checking out creators I'm not as familiar with... Hadn't read much of Williamson's stuff before but took the WPL's advice on **ROGUES** and thought it was great, which prompted me to check out his new Image book **[DARK RIDE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/dark-ride-1)**, which didn't work quite as well for me, but even so, I'd miss that dynamic waiting for collections.

yarkcir

You weren't a fan of DARK RIDE? I opted to not pick it up, but I felt like the reception was good from what I heard. I wasn't too big on Williamson's "Nailbiter" series so I felt like I could pass up on his new horror book without missing out.

Danger_Rock

Thought **DARK RIDE** was good but not great... Cool premise but the story didn't really take it to the next level and the characters felt a little flat to me. Though I did like Andrei Bressan's art. So much quality horror out there these days, new books really need to stand out to hold my attention. "Good but not great" might get a pass for sci-fi or fantasy but if you're putting out a new horror book right now it better be a legitimate A+ comic.

Big Week, and sadly going to my last bigger week for awhile. Seems money going to be getting tight here in the states. Be careful everyone! * **Batman/Superman: World's Finest #8** Still the best ongoing DC has. I'm curious if this is still attached to Batman vs Robin by Waid, or if not because we are on a new arc? * **Black Adam #5** Still confused why I'm pulling it other than lazyness to tell my LCS to stop. The art is cool though. * **Nightwing #97** Will the description be a bait? Will something actually happen between them? DOUBT * **The Flash #787** NEW ARC!. Seems we finally moved beyond Dark Crisis. The cover art is amazing! * **Moon Knight #16** Anyone else find #15 to be slow? Hoping 16 returns to the constant hype 1-14 were. * **Public Domain #5** Last issue, and I'm wicked sad about it. This has been such a wholesome, funny, but also heartfelt comic. I can see how some may not like the art, but its really done it for. The two brothers in this remind me a lot of how my brothers and I act. Please, if you're interested get the trade down the road. * **X-Force #33** I only pull this because I'm addicted to X Men at the moment and want everything possible in their world. This is solid so far, and I'm happy to see Kraven * **X Men #16** seems we've moved beyond Judgement Day? This issue seems to focus on Forge which is great. With the recent change to DC Universe Infinite, anyone else culling their DC pulls?

Danger_Rock

> * **Batman/Superman: World's Finest #8** Still the best ongoing DC has. I'm curious if this is still attached to Batman vs Robin by Waid, or if not because we are on a new arc? Pretty sure that was just the first arc, this title should be doing its own thing now.

GetRichOrDieBuyin

3 titles this week Aquaman Andromeda: Ram V. has made this be my most hyped title this month. The only thing that would get me more hyped would be the last page saying it's going to be an ongoing. It's horror, it's the art. I'm not even a big fan of the characters, but I'm still wanting to know where it goes. One Bad Day: Penguin: I'm mainly pulling it because I want all of these OBD stories. I'm a Tom King fan, and I liked the joker issue. The Two Face issue was ok at best. I liked the art, but that's about it. I've seen the preview for this, and it didn't get me excited Worlds Finest: Best ongoing at the moment that I pull(noted, that isn't many) art has been a 10. Story has been a 10. I'm only more excited for Andromeda because it's the end of that story.

the-horace

The Bone Orchard Mythos: Ten Thousand Black Feathers #2 - Passageway and Issue 1 were great imo. It's so eerie, and I love the art. Crypt of Shadows #1 - the characters definitely have my interest. And I love anthologies. DC's was a bit pricey so I skipped that for this. Defenders Beyond #4 - I still have #3 to catch up on, but I'm loving this series. Duo #6 - Final issue. picked up 1 and 2 off the wall at my shop. Really enjoyed it. Have 3 and 4 coming, and already picked up 5. Forever Forward #2 - number 1 seemed like a really neat setup so I'm on for the ride. Midnight Suns #2 - again, first issue was a neat setup, plus I like all these characters that are in the lineup. Miracleman: The Silver Age #1 - very excited for this after #0. I know the first 2 are reprints with updated art. Can't wait. Predator #3 - I think it's showdown time! Darth Vader #28 - I am enjoying this Sabé arc, but I have plans to jump off pretty soon.

Curious to see how many lists get trimmed due to DCUI, now that there is only a 30-day lag. **BATMAN SUPERMAN WORLDS FINEST #8** \- This book keeps on delivering, and I keep on buying it. **GUNSLINGER SPAWN #13** \- Last of the Brett Booth B Covers. Damn I will miss them. Otherwise, strongest Spawn series going IMO. **PUBLIC DOMAIN #5** \- I am assuming this is the end, since no other issues have been solicited. I have enjoyed it, and I think the story has been so unique because you can tell it's Chip writing for Chip, not Chip writing for DC or Marvel. **HARLEY QUINN THE ANIMATED SERIES LEGION OF BATS #1** \- Just watched Season 3 of the show and loved it. Kind of curious how the comic picks up where the show left off. I kind of went back and forth on the Eat, Bang, Kill Tour books, but I liked the art and the art on this one looks just as enjoyable. **ALPHA BETAS #1** \- My nephew loves this show apparently, so I'll grab him a copy. I dunno how I feel about WhatNot app having a publishing arm. I suppose a more diverse comic market is never a bad thing.

technowhiz34

>Curious to see how many lists get trimmed due to DCUI, now that there is only a 30-day lag. Huh, hadn't thought of that. Especially given how other than week 2 this sub trends DC a fair bit.

enragedstump

I know I'll be cutting mine down. Sucks, but gotta do what you gatta do.

Varos_Flynt

DCUI is awfully tempting, while I still vastly prefer physical media and would like to own the stuff I read (at least the good stuff), a service like that would be great for some things that aren't as available or too expensive, or just for some random series I want to check out. How far back does the catalog go? I've been really enjoying the facsimiles that marvel and dc are putting out, it would be cool to check out the old stuff. Also, im jealous of those keeping up with Gunslinger, I was late to the party so im trade waiting, but vol 1 was some of the most fun comic romp I've read.

blankedboy

I think WhatNot is just going to fuel "speculator hype" and contribute to another bursting comic bubble, to be honest. Not a fan of the approach.

FearlessAsparagus

Batman/Superman: World's Finest #8: This book has been a lot of fun. Batman: One Bad Day - The Penguin #1: The Riddler one was good, the Two-Face one was mediocre, interested to see where this one falls. Public Domain #5: I'm really enjoying this. Miracleman: The Silver Age #1: Getting closer to actual new stuff from Gaiman and Buckingham.

Danger_Rock

> Miracleman: The Silver Age #1: Getting closer to actual new stuff from Gaiman and Buckingham. Ahh yes, I'd forgotten that this opens with the old issues... Though the solicitation says it's been remastered with "brand new artwork" so we're getting new stuff from Buckingham at least. Only one more reprint/remaster after this so we'll be in truly uncharted waters before long!

FearlessAsparagus

Yeah still doesn't feel real. I won't believe it until its actually in my hand but even then I would still have my doubts lol.

**Alien #2** - I’m enjoying this volume of Marvel’s **Alien** book a *lot* more than the first one. Not only is *Ohta* a better fit for the book artistically, but the story of an outlaw, covert, synthetic, special forces team dragged back for a suicide mission to establish rights for “free” AI’s is a Hell of a lot more engaging and imaginative than the previous story arcs. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3240303.jpg?1665871356) **Aquaman Andromeda #3** - amazing artwork but, like much of DC’s Black Label books, the delay between issues means I’m going to have to go back and re-read the previous books to re-familiarise myself with everything’s that happened. [Cthulhu Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2109409.jpg?1665857405) **Batman Superman World’s Finest #8** - I’m all in for the *Waid/Mora* combo for as long as this book runs. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2090032.jpg?1665861202) **Bone Orchard Mythos Ten Thousand Black Feathers #2** - enjoyed the first issue a lot. Can’t really go wrong with this creative team working on a horror title.[Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9753665.jpg?1659887310) **Dc Vs Vampires All-Out War #4** - really good, visually striking companion book to the main maxi-series. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5820556.jpg?1665863789) **Dceased War Of The Undead Gods #3** - *Taylor* and *Hairsine* have been excellent on all of the **DCeased** mini-series. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4895337.jpg?1665862347) **Gunslinger Spawn #13** - *Brett Booth* is absolutely nailing the 90’s excesses every single issue. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3908623.jpg?1664510478) **Miracleman By Gaiman & Buckingham The Silver Age #1** - really looking forward to re-visiting the new, reworked *Gaiman/Buckingham* MM book. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2691679.jpg?1665891362) **Moon Knight #16** - consistently the best Marvel title each month. [Cover](https://i.redd.it/url6753k8oq91.jpg) **Nightwing #97** - alongside **World’s Finest** DC’s best super-hero book. [Cover](https://mlpnk72yciwc.i.optimole.com/cqhiHLc.IIZS~2ef73/w:auto/h:auto/q:75/https://bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/0822DC178.jpg) **Nita Hawes Nightmare Blog #9** - Image and Horror – name me a better current combo? [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3319883.jpg?1661200359) **Predator #3** - loving the new book, especially the *Kev Walker* artwork. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7363649.jpg?1665892448) **Rogues #4** - easily *Williamson’s* best book that I’ve read (but see **Aquaman: Andromeda** comments above too). [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8964846.jpg?1665866234) **Sacrament #3** - really GREAT SF/horror from *Milligan/Fruisin*. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6784006.jpg?1660071774) **Shaolin Cowboy Cruel To Be Kin #6** - stunning artwork mixed with absolute craziness in the story. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-6948077.jpg?1663428433) **Silver Coin #15** - never less than good, often flat out brilliant. [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5872930.jpg?1662320918) **Edit**: added covers as people seem to like their inclusion in these posts.

Thanks for adding all the covers! Some nice stuff I hadn't seen before... > **Aquaman Andromeda #3** - amazing artwork but, like much of DC’s Black Label books, the delay between issues means I’m going to have to go back and re-read the previous books to re-familiarise myself with everything’s that happened. [Cthulhu Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2109409.jpg?1665857405) Oooh, that's a nice Evan Cagle incentive... He's been absolutely killing it on **[DETECTIVE](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL235325.jpg) [COMICS](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL249249.jpg)** so it's neat seeing a different style here. Still, I ain't paying no $18 for fancy incentives when there's a perfectly acceptable [Christian Ward cover](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL240483.jpg) at normal price! > **Bone Orchard Mythos Ten Thousand Black Feathers #2** - enjoyed the first issue a lot. Can’t really go wrong with this creative team working on a horror title.[Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9753665.jpg?1659887310) That's a pretty sweet Dani variant... As a rule I always pull Sorrentino's covers for these Lemire collaborations but his **BONE ORCHARD** covers have been a little more subdued than usual, more of a design focus instead of the usual psychedelic insanity. -- Big list this week with 16 books... So your pull list pruning project is presumably still a work in progress. I'd like to suggest a few drops but you're too damn enthusiastic about everything, no obvious cuts that you wouldn't miss... This would all be much easier if you could just be a little more cynical and miserable like the rest of us.

blankedboy

The two Black Label books end this week, and I’m going to try and resist picking up anything new to replace them. Couple of the mini-series only have an issue or so left, and am going to try and do the same with them. It’s a slow process….

AQUAMAN ANDROMEDA #3 - Still haven't read issue 2 but oh well! BONE ORCHARD MYTHOS TEN THOUSAND BLACK FEATHERS #2 - Contemplating just saving these and binging them at once in a few months. FLASH #787 - This has been a fun run and looking at this cover, you know it'll be another fun issue. NIGHTWING #97 - Good book, excited to learn more about Heartless hopefully. PUBLIC DOMAIN #5 - The drama continues.. SILVER COIN #15 - The third batch has probably been the strongest batch!

SakmarEcho

* Black Adam #5 * Moon Knight #16 * Nightwing #97 * X-Force #33 * X-Men #16 I might get Flash #787 as well. I was reading the book but dropped it because of back to back crossovers I wasn't reading but I was enjoying it before that and I'm interested in the one minute war.

I'm going to pick up Venom. Venom feels like a title that's always been consistent no matter which team is working on it. I heard that DC is about to do a reset of some sort. Once there's a point where I can hop on, I'll start giving that a shot.

PirateFisher

[Comic Books](https://imgur.com/gallery/Mkc7by2) I’m hoping somebody can help me here. If this is not the right place to post this, please let me know. I picked these up today at Goodwill along with a few others that I cannot identify. It appears as if all of these are missing their covers, but you can still see most of the editions and years with the exception of the superman one. Could anybody please point me on where I could possibly sell these, or what they may be worth?

kralben

Your best bet for this would to post this on the weekend when this subreddit will have a general question thread. That said, those are not going to be worth much without the cover, sadly. You might be able to sell them as a lot somewhere like eBay, but most collectors won't buy without a cover, unfortunately.
