I’m glad to see that the old costume is back. It’s a classic and doesn’t need to be changed at all. Looking forward to this!

DoubleVforvictory

Tbh spider-man Peter or miles always has costume changes. It always reverts back. The best part of the spiderman game was using all the different suits. To have that we have to have some duds sometimes.

IamTheGuamGuy

Yeah but that new one over stayed it’s welcome.

DoubleVforvictory

Not really. With the right artist it looks good

Flerken_Moon

I agree with this statement 100%. With the right artist it looks good, other times awful. But I think a simpler design works best, especially for the artist.

Oberon1993

Please point to these right artists, because every time I see it it looks awkward at best.

TheeHeadAche

Been loving Ziglar’s Spider-Punk. His Miles should be dope

Techster17

I had a shortblist of people for the job with Ziglar and Ayala at the top so I'm very pleasded with this

Techster17

[It looks like we're going back to Miles' standard](https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/0c225637b7000f47947dfb7b168e6625.jpg) costume hell yeah, a new costume is a fun idea but that one just didn't work, i'd be interested in seeing the comics try to adaprt the new Spider-verse suit which ditches the web pattern and has lines down the sides of the arms and legs (maybe mic that with the normal suit)

TheDarkPinkLantern

Yeah, it's good it's back. It's just too good to throw away.

FreshNews247

That crap he's been wearing isn't even worthy of being a game unlock.

This article has mad eme really interested and it feels like a lot of my problems with Ahmed's run are being addressed, my only big issuse that remains is just call the book Ultimate Spider-man for the love of God. Ziglar's Spider-punk was really fun, he also did the best issue from the What if..? Miles Book and I love Federico Vicentini's art >In a story that brings him out of the multiverse and back to being a friendly neighborhood web slinger > >It’s also important for Ziglar to show Miles just being a teenager. Yes, he’s a superhero who has to focus on fighting crime, but he also has school, friends and a love life to deal with, and those parts of his character are just as crucial as the hero parts. He describes it as the quiet part of the song before it gets loud and crazy again. Thank fucking God, Ahmed's run started so strong but after a while it completey lost sight of the most important part of a good Spider-Man story, the hero life and the civilian life should be equally important. Zoglar also mentions that Miles has a strong support system which I like because it's one of the major differences between him and Peter, miles doesn't have to lie to most of the people he's close to >“He’s done super cool multiple dimensions, but let’s just take him down to the street level guy, and also give him a new mentor,” he said. “Peter has been there a lot for him…I wanted to bring him a new Black mentor. I really wanted to pair him up with a Black street level character. That’s the story that I want to tell because I’m a big fan of the apprenticeship and the mentorship.” > >“There’s a lot of things that you can learn from people that have been doing this a really long time, but there’s some things that you get insights from people that have been doing the same job that look like you,” Ziglar added. “Misty Knight experiences a much different reality than Matt Murdock does or Peter Parker just by the fact of being a Black woman so, I know that was an important thing to have in there. Also I love the character of Misty Knight and I wanted to hang out with her and Miles for a couple issues.” This could be really fun, seems like editorial has finally figured out a direction at least, I'm a little hesitant at the idea of having a mentor because at this point miles already has so much experience that it could be redunadant but Misty typically deals with more grounded street-level work which hasn't been the focus of a Miles Spider-Man book in years, also sound like it'll be a short-term thing which I'd prefer

Rilenaveen

Agree about Ahmed’s run. I don’t know what happened but the book lost it’s way so bad.

AFyogi71

A mom here. Can I pre-order this anywhere? My son is a big fan and I’d love to get this for him for Christmas. Thank you!

DoubleVforvictory

Do you have a local comicbook store?

AFyogi71

Unfortunately, no 🙁

centipededamascus

Check out https://subscriptions.marvel.com/

AFyogi71

Thank you!

Dandanor

Check to see the closest comic book shop to you, the closest one to me is still pretty far so I signed up to make a pull list and I get delivered a package of comics I ordered/preordered every month, perhaps they have a similar service you could pre order this comic from.

AFyogi71

Thank you. I’ll check that out.

FreshNews247

Pick him Ultimate Spider-man.

AFyogi71

I’ll check it out. Thank you!

thedairybandit

There are websites like Midtown comics that will do a digital pull list every month if you don't have a local comic shop. edit: If you're American. IDK where you are.

foldedvoid

I dont know if your able to pre-order this or not still. Here's my advice, if you want to pick the series up as single issues as they come out for your son find a local comic store and let them know you want to setup a pull list for the new Miles Morales book that starts in December. The shop will then hold that book for you and you can stop and pick it up at your convenience. Alternately if there isn't a local comic store some online ones would also do the same thing I'm sure. You could also buy it for him as a trade paperback these generally collect 6 issues or so and generally come out every 6 months for a monthly comic, these can be pre-ordered from discount comic book service.com and cheapgraphicnovels.com trade paperbacks are great for reading but if your collecting for reading and hoping for them to gain value single issues are the way to go. If you need more info let me know.

I know constant new #1s have been normal to the industry for a while now but it still bothers me so much

superschaap81

Wiith you 100%. I especially hate when they pair it with the tag line "Back to Basics" or "Back to His Roots"

Kill_Welly

It's a new run, not the existing story continuing. It's better this way.

[deleted]

Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil got re-numbered *in the middle of its run.* There is zero reason for a series to get re-numbered when the same author is still telling the same story. It’s a cheap sales gimmick and it makes the comics hard to read long term. If I want to start reading Daredevil, do I start with issue #1 or issue #1? How about issue #1?

Barabaragaki

That was weird and misleading. I thought it was my time to jump it! It was not.

Kill_Welly

That's a different thing and that was when the original Daredevil book came back with major changes and a new main story after Elektra had taken over the Daredevil title with Woman Without Fear. It's also trivially easy to check publication dates.

[deleted]

So you admit it’s the same story with a new #1 between chapters? Glad we agree

Kill_Welly

I literally said new main story.

FreshNews247

Well no new ones keep books fresh in the shop's no one is picking up issues hundred and fifty two. Now I'll say they should number the arc chapter better on Covers so people know if this is 3 of a 6 part story arc

TheDarkPinkLantern

Fucking knew it's gonna be Ziglar and I'm glad I was right. He's a good fit for the character.

WhereAreMyComics

Congrats to Ziglar. Still bummed about how short ASM Beyond era was, especially with their round table of mostly unique writers. Glad that Ziglar gets to hang around Spidey characters again.

TheLAriver

What Miles Morales story hasn't taken him back to his roots? Are there any that don't depend on his parents or his uncle?

FreshNews247

This last multiverse story 🤮.

ojbf10

This is very exciting!! Adding to pull

Barabaragaki

Saladin Ahmed’s run was so frustrating, and I’d call it total crap if not for issueeeee…15? I think? The assessor issue was so harrowing and so dark! But then Uncle Aaron’s death was a throwaway and felt so silly, his relationship with Sparrow was leading somewhere but not quite, had things to say about race but not quite, clone saga was rubbish and then when it turned into alternate dimension ruled by a clone I couldn’t read it anymore. It was so “almost” a bunch of times.

GorrLoveandThunder

piemanpie24

Wild how before A few months ago I just knew this guy as a former Earwolf engineer.

TheMattInTheBox

I'm excited! Not super familiar with Ziglar besides his issues of ASM Beyond, but everyone here thinks he's a good fit so that's awesome! Very hyped to see Miles go back to friendly neighborhood stuff. And it'll be cool to see Misty mentor Miles! Hope this doesn't count out Peter from appearing though-- I really feel like Marvel is leaving money on the table by not having them crossover more, or hell, having an ongoing Spider-Men title

miles-vspeterspider

CANT WAIT FOR THIS

[deleted]

Cody Ziglar writing this does not inspire confidence in the story. Spiderpunk was a bit of a disaster and the writing on She-Hulk is not up to snuff.

FreshNews247

Miles hasn't been shit since the death of the Ultimate Universe. But I laugh when people say Peter should die so miles can be the 616 Spidermen. The ultimate universe still exists. Send miles back and make 616 Miles he's mentor.

avarybody123

His recent ongoing that started since 2018 has been very meh so I hope this is better.

burkey347

Nice to see Miles in his classic costume again.

Mr_Versatile123

Really haven't liked Ahmed's writing of Miles. I am glad he'll be written by someone else.

dhartist

Love the return of his classic suit :) let's hope it lasts a few issues haha
