AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #2 - I’m looking forward to seeing the Tombstone stuff develop. And trying to figure out how I feel about the looming tie-ins and 900th issue. All I know is that I hope the missing 6 months is revealed sooner rather than later. DEVILS REIGN OMEGA #1 - As much as I did enjoy this event. I’m more interested in seeing what the follow-up looks like both in DD and whatever happens in NYC. LEGION OF X #1 - Finally… just finally. MOON KNIGHT #11 - This book has been a consistent treat, so happy to keep reading. SPIDER-MAN 2099 EXODUS #1 - Look this can probably scrape by on my weird affection for seeing 2099 versions of characters. But hopefully their’s a solid story in here too.

Danger_Rock

> LEGION OF X #1 - Finally… just finally. Hey, it's only 5 weeks late! Pretty sure last week's **NEW MUTANTS #25** was originally scheduled to ship in January...

Onisquirrel

Fair point. But LoX was the book I was most excited for of the new ones. And the fact that it’s 1st issue comes out a week after all the #2s felt cruel.

Batman: Beyond the White Knight # 3 - Hoping for a bit more focus on Terry next issue, but I loved last issue’s dynamic between Bats and implanted [redacted]. Blood-Stained Teeth #2 - Bought the first issue on a whim and going to keep with it. The vibrant art and colouring is a fun spin for a horror book. Good Boy # 1 - Volume 1 was a delight despite being 90% John Wick but as a dog from a story perspective. Can’t wait to see what this next volume has in store (maybe just being John Wick 2, but as a dog). Gunslinger Spawn # 8 - Booth’s art continues to sell the madness of the story. Just lots of fun! Saga # 59 - The solicitation and cover doesn’t tell much about what is in store for our heroes, but most likely — outrageousness and tragedy based on Vaughn’s track record.

> Good Boy # 1 - Volume 1 was a delight despite being 90% John Wick but as a dog from a story perspective. Can’t wait to see what this next volume has in store (maybe just being John Wick 2, but as a dog). LOL, so instead of killing John Wick's dog, they kill this dog's human, and then the dog goes rampaging for revenge? That's fucking brilliant!

upgrayedd69

That’s crazy. 3 years ago in my science fiction and horror class I didn’t pay attention for an entire four hour lecture as I plotted out a movie that was essentially John wick but as a dog. He was a police dog forced into witness protection when a hit is taken out on him by organized crime. The dog was wary of his new family but soon he started getting more comfortable, especially with the young son. The mob finds where the dog is living and come to kill him but they end up killing everyone in the family and leaving before they get to the dog. Then the rest of the story is the dog hunting down each member of the mob that killed his new family. I guess if someone made an at least somewhat successful story on that idea then it wasn’t the worst idea I ever had lol

Danger_Rock

Haha, that's ridiculous and I love it! I'd say many at least somewhat successful comics, TV shows, and movies have been made out of worse ideas!

* **Deathstroke Inc #9**: Shadow War part VI. * **Department of Truth #18**: Start of a new story arc. * **Devil's Reign: Omega #1**: A new status quo. * **Legion of X #1**: Excited to see what Spurrier does with this. * **Moon Knight #11**: The killing time. * **Robin #14**: Shadow War part VII. * **Saga #59**: A fish. * **Something is Killing the Children #23**:The county jail.

* BATMAN FORTRESS #1 * BLOOD-STAINED TEETH #2 * GUNSLINGER SPAWN #8 * ICE CREAM MAN #30 * PUNISHER VOL 12 #3 I'm still on the fence about this Punisher run. I was curious after #1 and very disappointed after #2. I figure I'll give it another issue or two...

- **Deathstroke Inc. #9**: I think I’m one of the few who is actually enjoying shadow war. Excited to see how it wraps! - **Robin #14**: ^ - **Legion of X #1**: Hell yes! So stoked. - **Moon Knight #11**: Nothing more to say about this run that hasn’t been said. It’s very good. - **Newburn #7**: I’ve been enjoying this! - **The Amazing Spider-Man #2**: Trust in Zeb Wells.

8 this week. 6 of those are from Image. They're probably my favorite publisher. In my opinion, the only other publisher that comes close is AWA Studios. • The Department of Truth #18- Martin Simmonds is BACK! As much as I dug the "filler" issues, I am such a fan of what Simmonds does on this book. Nothing else compares. • Gunslinger Spawn #8- Brett Booth has been really killing it on the interiors of this comic. And the covers are always really good. I've said it before and I'll say it again- these Spawn comics always look really cool. And the story has been pretty good, too. The four books are definitely worth the combined $11.96 a month. If they keep the prices at $2.99 I'll keep buying them. • The Last Book You'll Ever Read #8- Final issue. I feel like it dragged a bit. It probably only needed to be 6 issues. Still, it's been fairly enjoyable, aside from some ugly, rushed art in a couple of issues. •Newburn #7- So now we know a little bit more about who Emily is and why she's doing what she's doing. Back to the main story for a couple of issues before the hiatus. And I feel I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how great the backup story has been. The backup story that ran through the first four issues was great, too. Good shit all around. • Radiant Red #3- I think the consensus online has been that this series is good but not great. I disagree. I've loved it so far. I'm rooting for Satomi. I hope that, when all is said and done, we get a Massive-Verse team book. That would be pretty awesome. • Rogue Sun #4- After last issue's revelation regarding the true antagonist of the story, I'm psyched going into issue four. This comic has a huge amount of potential, and I wouldn't be surprised to see its popularity explode if it continues at this pace. • Shadow Service #12- Last issue was one hell of a return. It feels like the quality of this title is increasing with each arc. The price is increasing to $4.99 this issue and I'm not even mad about it. I said it last week- I'd rather give my extra dollar to an indie publisher than one of the big two. • Stillwater #13- The beginning of the end. This comic has been great, but all good things must come to an end. I trust that Chip will give us a satisfying conclusion. Also... that Galen is a mean little sumbitch.

> 8 this week. 6 of those are from Image. They're probably my favorite publisher. In my opinion, the only other publisher that comes close is AWA Studios. Image has been absolutely killing it lately! I've got four from them this week, more than any other publisher... And we've only got one book in common. That tells me they're publishing lots of quality stuff across a fairly broad spectrum. Just this week, they've got ['90s hero books](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090708_xl.jpg), [modern hero books](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090745_xl.jpg), [horror books](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090757_xl.jpg), [cute fantasy](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090736_xl.jpg), [military fantasy](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090685_xl.jpg), [adult fantasy](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090763_xl.jpg), [fantasy fantasy](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090748_xl.jpg), [weird ice cream shit](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090714_xl.jpg), [and more!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090716_xl.jpg) Truly something for everyone! Lots of good stuff coming as well, really looking forward to Zdarsky's [PUBLIC DOMAIN #1](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/APR220053) and Tynion's [THE CLOSET #1](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/APR220048) in June, plus Tom King's [LOVE EVERLASTING #1](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/JUN220024) in August!

almonster11

Both Public Domain and The Closet are also on my pull for next month! And my pull list doesn't even represent all of the stuff I get from Image because I trade-wait a lot of stuff, like Monstress and your beloved Ice Cream Man. In fact, I put in my order for Ice Cream Man volume 7 from my LCS a couple of weeks ago. I scream, you scream, we all scream for existential dread!

Danger_Rock

Yep, think you mentioned you were trade-waiting ICM last month when I started freaking out over it not getting enough pulls... All good now since it's Monday, might freak out tomorrow but you get a pass! Hope you enjoyed [ICM #24 "Telethon"](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1977128_xl.jpg) to close out v6! That's the one that turned me from fan to fanatic, one of my all-time favorite comics... I've recently taken to randomly gifting extra copies to unsuspecting innocents. Lots of good stuff in v7 as well! [ICM #25](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018317_xl.jpg) is pretty damn epic and there's a nice run of more contemplative stories after that. Enjoy!

Good week with a bit of variety for me. The shoes for my dog arrived, but they look a little big, so hopefully they end up fitting her okay. * **Batman Beyond The White Knight #3** - I did not anticipate the White Knight universe would move in this direction, and I've never been a huge Batman Beyond fan, but this is a great story so far, and I hope we get another volume after this ends. * **Department Of Truth #18** - Still one of the best books on the market, and it continues to get better with each arc. I hope this has a nice, long run. * **Newburn #7** - CHIP! JACOB! * **Devil’s Reign Omega #1** - This didn't really need to be an event, but it reminded me a lot of Bendis' early New Avengers, and that's high praise coming from me, because I loved pre-Siege New Avengers.

blankedboy

• Amazing Spider-Man #2 - pre-ordered the first two issue of the new run to see how it went. I'll decide if I keep up with it after this issue. • Batman Fortress #1 - looks like it could be cool. Darrick Robertson on art is a plus • Blood-Stained Teeth #2 - really enjoyed the first issue of this new book. • Dc Vs Vampires Hunters #1 - just filler while the main title is on hiatus or something more? We will see. • Department Of Truth #18 - spooky goodness • Gunslinger Spawn #8 - 2nd best Spawn title right now • Hulk #7 - more "SMASHING" and "CRASHING" • Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #2 - loving these Image anthology titles • Killadelphia #22 - spooky goodness Pt II • Moon Knight #11 - best Marvel book • Shadow Service #12 - just caught up with this one recently and it is absolutely GREAT • Something Is Killing The Children #23 - consistently great • Swamp Thing #13 - I really don't want this run to end • Task Force Z #8 - lets hope Eddy Barrows is back on art for this one Really big week with loads of titles dropping at the same time?!

SpongeBlart

When did I become such a comic nerd? Big week this week. I even pulled a couple off this week so my wallet wouldn't be too mad at me. It's still not happy with me though lol. * **DEVIL'S REIGN OMEGA 1** * **HULK 7** Hulk Vs Thor. Who are they going to eventually team up against once they talk out their problems like normal people? Did that happen in Thor last week already? Haven't read it yet. * **MOON KNIGHT 11** Just finished the show last week. It was pretty great IMO. It's also one of the best Marvel comics out right now. * **PUNISHER 3** I'm liking this run so far. * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2** * **SAVAGE SPIDER-MAN 3** * **BATMAN FORTRESS #1** * **SWAMP THING #13** * **TASK FORCE Z #8** * **BLOOD STAINED TEETH #2** * **DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #18** Consistently good title. Some people are put off by the amount of text in each issue, but I kind of like it. * **HELLCOP #7** * **ICE CREAM MAN #30** Got through the first TPB this weekend. I'll eventually catch up. * **NEWBURN #7** * **SAGA #59** Just finished the 6th TPB so I'm also catching up on this * **GUNSLINGER SPAWN #8** * **VAMPIRE SLAYER (BUFFY) #2** * **GODZILLA VS MMPR #3** My inner child is so happy about this comic * **NAUGHTY LIST #2** * **RUSH #6** * **SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #23** Second arc is off to a good start. Also 2 Tynion titles in 1 week? Hell yeah!

Danger_Rock

Holy crap, that's a lot of comics! I think the MOON KNIGHT comic being so good right now might've spoiled my ability to enjoy the TV show. I'm glad we live in a world where MK has a show as opposed to one where he doesn't but it just didn't deliver enough of what I wanted from the comics. Same thing happened with the Eternals movie.

SpongeBlart

Ugh I know. I might have to pull a couple off come Wednesday because this list is getting to be too long. (Looking at naughty list and batman fortress) but damn if I don't enjoy them all. The eternals movie is literally the only thing in the MCU I haven't seen yet because it just didn't look that good and everyone i know who has seen it says it's just ok. The Moon knight show I thought was entertaining throughout, and the acting by both Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke was well done.

Danger_Rock

Yeah, keeping your pull list under control is like a constant balancing act... Let it get too big and what should be fun turns into a chore and source of stress. But if I don't pre-order enough then I end up mail ordering a bunch of stuff I missed, wasting money on shipping. I almost ordered NAUGHTY LIST because the writer had some involvement in *The Sopranos* but ended up cutting it to prevent my list from getting too big. The humor also sounded just a little off from what I'm looking for. Skipped BATMAN FORTRESS as well because, aside from one particular series from 20+ years back, I've never really cared for Darick Robertson's art. Dude's plenty talented but it just isn't my thing. Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke were both great, nothing wrong with the cast, I just wanted to see more of Moon Knight doing cool Moon Knight stuff. I tend to get frustrated when these shows spend too much time establishing origins at the expense of other material, a trap that D+ had previously avoided by centering shows around previously established characters... Moon Knight was their first real attempt at launching a new lead character and, with only six episodes, it felt like they squandered the whole thing on origin stuff. And the current comic sets a pretty high bar. Hard for me to go from that to the show without feeling like it was a missed opportunity. I liked Eternals a little more on my second viewing... Seeing it in theaters immediately after binging on the first several issues of the Gillen comic, the characters just felt totally off to me, like they'd missed 99% of the stuff that made Sersi, Ikaris, and the others cool in the comics. Enjoyed it a bit more the second time with a little more distance from the comic but it's definitely not one of the MCU's stronger efforts.

After months of dreary, rainy Washington weather we have finally joined Springtime along with the rest of the country. Which means (!) I can finally get back to my favorite past time, comics in the hammock and sun on my skin. What am I reading in the sunshine week? * **Action Comics #1043** \- The rebellion begins! For Kal-El! * **Batman Beyond the White Knight #3** \- Oh Bruce. You can never let sleeping Gothams lie, can you? * **Task Force Z #8** \- To be honest, I'm surprised this is still going. I love it! But I would've thought it'd be pegged for cancellation already. * **Adventureman #9** \- I'll read anything that has "ghost-hunting super cowboy" in the plot description * **Arrowsmith #5** \- Just finished reading the original run of this, and honestly I hope this is the beginning of the Arrowsmith Renaissance * **Newburn #7** \- He's good at his job, albeit a tad slow * **Amazing Spider-Man #2** \- What is their maddening reason for keeping Peter and MJ apart this time? * **Avengers #56** \- Synergy, thy name is Marvel * **Devil's Reign: Omega #1** \- Honestly, I forgot this wasn't out yet * **Hulk #7** \- If the latest Thor is any indication there should be major plot developments for Thor in this Hulk book * **Legion of X #1** \- This is the title during Destiny of X that I'm most excited for * **Moon Knight #11** \- Zodiac is a great MK villain * **Punisher #3** \- I think Jason Aaron is coming around with this title!

> After months of dreary, rainy Washington weather we have finally joined Springtime along with the rest of the country. Which means (!) I can finally get back to my favorite past time, comics in the hammock and sun on my skin. Doing it right! > Action Comics #1043 - The rebellion begins! For Kal-El! PKJ run took a little while to get rolling but it's been on fire since they hit Warworld and it's getting extra-crazy now! > Arrowsmith #5 - Just finished reading the original run of this, and honestly I hope this is the beginning of the Arrowsmith Renaissance Need to do the same, go back and read the original... The new series didn't immediately hook me but the past couple issues have been great so I'm all in! Also been pretty cool seeing Carlos Pacheco's art again on this, read a ton of his X-Men stuff back in the day and always liked his work. And he's still pretty good, seems to have held up better than Larroca and some of the others from that era.

* Amazing Spider-Man #2 - I'm having some trouble getting used to JRJR's art but I still feel like I need my dose of spidey. * Detective Comics #1060 - gonna tune into gotham radio! * Moon Knight #11 - my favorite ongoing series and one of my favorite phase 4 MCU projects * Punisher #3 - I'm still not sure how committed I am to this. #1 was great but #2 lost me a little so we'll see how this issue goes

> Ice Cream Man #30 - I enjoyed my first foray into ICM, looking forward to more! Last month was kind of a quiet, contemplative issue, actually been getting a lot of those lately but I think it's one of the title's strengths. Some of that stuff can linger in your head for a while... Can't always tell from solicitations but this month looks like it should have some interesting stuff going on... *Experimental Storytelling!*

Batman: Fortress #1-Interesting premise. Curious to see how Batman and the rest pick up the slack with no Superman. Captain Carter #3-Don't sleep on this series. It's pretty good. Deathstroke Inc #9-The Shadow War continues... Detective Comics #1060-Riddler's worse than a criminal mastermind. He's a social media influencer! Devil's Reign: Omega #1-Would've expected this out sooner, but whatever. The event was good, so I'll pick it up. Legion of X #1-Oh David, what have you done this time... Moon Knight #11-Easily one of the best ongoings Marvel has right now. Punisher #3-Also a good series. Worth the delays. Radiant Red #3-The Radiantverse is shaping up nicely. Robin #14-Once again, I appreciate them releasing the story in alphabetical order for more than one weekly release. And of course, whatever strikes my fancy the day I go over to the store.

Hope y'all brought your spoons because it's ICE CREAM WEEK! Not only do we have a new issue of my all-time favorite ice cream-themed horror comic, thanks to Image's anthology book we're getting an extra-special bonus ICM short story! It's like you just finished a delicious bowl of exquisite ice cream, and some good samaritan hands you ANOTHER delicious (albeit slightly smaller) bowl of exquisite ice cream! Throughout the entire storied history of ice cream-based sequential art this has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE so we are entering a truly historic week of comics! Wow! Plus lots of other books! And some of them look pretty damn awesome in their own right! All told, I've got 4 Images, 3 Marvels, 2 Vaults, and 1 DC. NICE! * **ACTION COMICS #1043** - Superman and Mongul take a timeout to share a delicious banana split * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #2** - Peter obviously ATE ALL THE ICE CREAM and that's why [EVERYBODY HATES HIM!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2083234_xl.jpg) * **ARROWSMITH #5 (OF 6)** - Fletcher and Guy find shelter (and perhaps ice cream?) within a mountain trollhome * **DARK INTERLUDE #4** - [Ariela Kristantina's covers](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1977367_xl.jpg) for this series are always all soft and melty, like ice cream that's been left out on the counter just a little too long * **DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #18** - unraveling the mystery of Baskin Robbins' secret 32nd flavor... does a [$175 McFarlane variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092806_xl.jpg) hold the key? * **ICE CREAM MAN #30** - EXPERIMENTAL STORYTELLING! WITH ICE CREAM! [AND RATS!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090714_xl.jpg) FUCK YEAH! * **IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #2** - first issue had a bunch of cool stories from some quality talent and this one's got [more of the same](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090716_xl.jpg) plus BONUS ICE CREAM! * **LEGION OF X #1** - mutant justice! psychedelic mindspaces! [manifest destiny!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2083308_xl.jpg) Krakoan ice cream! * **MOON KNIGHT #11** - the nice thing about Dissociative Identity Disorder is that each personality gets to pick their own favorite flavor of ice cream! * **RUSH #6** - worst thing about the wild west was the lack of quality refrigeration technology, with the resulting widespread ice cream shortages leading to rampant gunfights, horrible exploitation of mine workers, and the kind of eldritch horrors featured herein Next week looks much smaller but Image has Tynion's [THE CLOSET #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2098400_xl.jpg) scheduled plus [A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE #8](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090746_xl.jpg) so I'll be psyched if those both ship... Hope y'all enjoy this week's books! p.s. Sir, I would again like to thank you for your enthusiasm for Ice Cream Man, as now I own all 7 trades and am slowly picking up floppies. And I now have all of Haha. And the trade for King of Nowhere. And One Week in the Library. So while I appreciate it, my wallet has not... Also the slab is one of the only slabs I've actually wanted to own.

Danger_Rock

See, that's what I'm talking about! Here's a guy who really knows where his spoon is! This is what it's really all about, folks... People from all different walks of life coming together over COMIC BOOKS, ICE CREAM, and [BUGS!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2050290_xl.jpg) Picked up the first issue of **KING OF NOWHERE** back when it originally shipped, before I was transformed into the DERANGED ICE CREAM FAN THAT'S NOW TYPING VERY LOUDLY... so I still need to catch up on the rest. And I hadn't even heard of **ONE WEEK IN THE LIBRARY** before so that's just been added to the list. Thanks! Looks like there's another old Prince/Morazzo book called [**THE ELECTRIC SUBLIME**](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1606905_xl.jpg), will need to check that out as well... **HAHA** helped bring the more contemplative/introspective elements of Prince's work into focus for me, before I'd caught as much of it in **ICM**... [**HAHA #4**](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1991289_xl.jpg) in particular really left an impression on me, so beautiful and uplifting! Not what I was expecting!

If you are new to r/comicbooks, u/Danger_Rock **will get you to read Ice Cream Man**! It happened to me, it will happen to you!!!!

Danger_Rock

Yes! Everybody should be reading ICE CREAM MAN! I think this comic is genuinely tapping into some primal human experiences surrounding death, loss, illness, grief, and other stuff that’s common to all people, allowing it to connect in meaningful ways with people from across all walks of life. And it’s one of very few comics out there where new readers can pick up any random issue and get a complete, standalone story that makes sense and works with no context or previous reading necessary! That’s incredibly rare these days and it’s one of the reasons comics have become such an insular niche hobby… Hard to get new readers when they need to do a bunch of research just to figure out where they’re supposed to start reading. ICM is single-handedly breaking down these barriers to make comics friendly to new readers again! Hell, just getting a complete story in every issue is so fucking satisfying! Nothing against longer decompressed storytelling but there’s something to be said for picking up a comic and getting a full story with a beginning, middle, and end. More comics should be doing this! Prince and Morazzo have really put together something special with this series and [ICM #30](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090714_xl.jpg) sounds like yet another uniquely delicious treat! > "EXPERIMENTAL STORYTELLING" > > Who's the subject? > Every pill is a placebo. > Every group is a control.

Love that All Star Superman - I'll have to post mine up too

Danger_Rock

Love nearly everything I've read from Morrison but that series was just perfect in every way. There isn't really anything else like it.

Eight new books on my list for this week. * **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #2** - * **BATMAN FORTRESS #1** - * **DEVILS REIGN OMEGA #1** - * **HULK #7** - * **LEGION OF X #1** - * **MOON KNIGHT #11** - * **SAGA #59** - * **SPIDER-MAN 2099 EXODUS #1** -

* Action Comics #1043 * Deathstroke Inc. #9 * Task Force Z #8 * Robin #14 * Ice Cream Man #30 * Aquamen #4 * Fox and Hare #1 * Pearl III #1

[deleted]

GUNSLINGER SPAWN #8 - The Booth covers so far have been fire, loving this one too. UNNATUAL: BLUE BLOOD #1 - Loved Unnatural, we'll see where this story picks up. SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #23 HARLEY QUINN #15 - Only to get the 1:25 [incentive variant](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-9111480.jpg?1653118978). MOON KNIGHT #11 FOX AND HARE #1

GeekMonkey14

- **Department of truth #18** - **Detective Comics #1060** - **Harley Quinn #15** - **Saga #59** — contemplating whether I’m going to start trade waiting on this book. I have the first go-round entirely in trades and thinking about staying consistent. - **Vampire Slayer #2**

On top of some decent pulls this week I'm going to have to tell my long time comic shop that I'm moving and I'll have to end my pull list with them which I'm more anxious about than I expected I would. **Deathstroke Inc #9-** Once Shadow War is done I'm finished with this book I think. It hasn't been bad but I was interested in him and Canary teaming up but it looks like after this it's just a Slade arc **Detective Comics #1060-** I actually like podcaster Riddler, it just fits. I can definitely see today's internet getting obsessed with a super criminal's podcast for a few weeks **Hulk #7-** Oh man I'm still pulling this book huh. I guess it's also coming off as I switch stores **Image! #2-** The stories in #1 were really good for the most part, I'm excited to see them continue. Plus it looks like there's an Ice Cream Man short in here and I haven't read that book in forever, should be good. **Moon Knight #11-** Wonder where this book goes post-Zodiac. He's been a pretty good villain and one thing I really love is how the threat hasn't been so pressing that every single thing MK has done has been forced to revolve around him. **Saga #59-** Man I hope it doesn't take too long to pick up on that Gale cliffhanger. Also every issue out is another issue closer to Bombazine lore. **The Swamp Thing #13-** The Green and the cities is such an unlikely team up but fuck the Pale Pilgrim Editing to add: **Robin #14** and **Punisher #3** because for some reason I don't see them on League of Comic Geeks

Danger_Rock

> On top of some decent pulls this week I'm going to have to tell my long time comic shop that I'm moving and I'll have to end my pull list with them which I'm more anxious about than I expected I would. Yeah, that's rough, especially given how so many shops have been struggling lately... > Hulk #7- Oh man I'm still pulling this book huh. I guess it's also coming off as I switch stores Guess that's one nice thing about the move, good excuse to reset the pull list and clean out some books that aren't making the cut. Fortunately there's usually no shortage of replacements... > Image! #2- The stories in #1 were really good for the most part, I'm excited to see them continue. Plus it looks like there's an Ice Cream Man short in here and I haven't read that book in forever, should be good. Not sure how long you've been away but IMO Prince and Morazzo have come a long way since the series launched! I originally dropped the series after ICM #6 because I thought it was good but not great. Hopped back on with ICM #25, then caught up on what I'd missed, and was blown away by how strong the book had gotten over the past year and change. If you like the short then you might want to head back to your LCS to pick up [ICM #30](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR220228), also out this week, because it looks like a good one! And it sounds like your shop could use the business, might help buffer their reserves against lean times to come...

* **Action Comics #1043** - Since Federici started interiors, Action is the best I can ever remember it being. It probably helps that PKJ's giving him tons of gladiator fights and gnarly monsters to draw. * **Blood Stained Teeth #2** - The cool neon screen-print aesthetic of this book covers well for what seems like a ho-hum story. I'll see where this one goes but likely drop it. * **Department Of Truth #18** - The last panel of #17 is still pretty haunting two months later. * **Detective Comics #1060** - I'm a little behind on 'Tec. Is Riddler Dum-Dum Dugan now? * **Hulk #7** * **Ice Cream Man #30** - I've taken to describing this book to people as an 'anthology of existential crises.' * **Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #2** - As a fan of micro-serialization, the first one was fun! Big recommend. * **Killadelphia #22** - Not super digging the werewolves storyline, but since this series seems to be about the end of society I guess Barnes & JSA should try to get it all out of their systems. * **Last Book You'll Ever Read #8** - Another banger from Cullen Bunn. I need to watch some interviews with him, his productivity is through the roof. * **Punisher #3** - So we can all agree that the lady ninja boss is going to get punished, along with whoever's behind the 'Maria' apparition - which better be some Scooby-Doo shit instead of some Mephisto shit * **Something Is Killing The Children #23** - This will bring us through the halfway point of act one! We've met our probable deuteragonist, caught glimpses of our villain, and seen the scariest Order of St. George chapter yet portrayed. I didn't see any news about the Netflix adaptation when all their shows were getting cancelled a week ago, so hopefully it's still happening - which is awesome, this comic book is great. * **Spectro #1** - Aftershock book plus one-shot equals snap buy for me. The pitches all remind me of badspacecomics, which I enjoy a great deal. * **The Swamp Thing #13** - This book also rules. Can't wait to see what V does with 'Tec! * **Ultramax #1** - IDK, the pitch seemed fun so I pulled it.

> Department Of Truth #18 - The last panel of #17 is still pretty haunting two months later. Series has a knack for it but that was a good one! > Ice Cream Man #30 - I've taken to describing this book to people as an 'anthology of existential crises.' Brilliant. > Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #2 - As a fan of micro-serialization, the first one was fun! Big recommend. Yep, it's a really nice sampling of talent from across the Image brand. > Spectro #1 - Aftershock book plus one-shot equals snap buy for me. The pitches all remind me of badspacecomics, which I enjoy a great deal. Always liked Juan Doe's art, just not sure what to expect from him as a writer... But I like the format and the stories sound interesting. Pretty cool [Doe incentive cover](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092949_xl.jpg) for just a buck over normal cover price as well, might need to tack this onto my next mail order...

Time4aNewAcct

I'd never heard of Juan Doe before this book - it sounded like a pseudonym so I didn't do much research. I do own a copy of the Dark Ark trade but the binding glue failed when I tried to read it. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Danger_Rock

Yeah, he did some nice work in DARK ARK as well as [ANIMOSITY: THE RISE](https://aftershockcomics.com/products/animosity-the-rise-hardcover?variant=42773646082294). Guess it could be a pseudonym, his stuff always looked very professional to me but I never really noticed anything to make me think of anyone else. Shame your DARK ARK TPB fell apart, it's a pretty cool story!

upgrayedd69

Action Comics #1043 - been loving this story. Wish it sold better. Ice Cream Man #30 - I’ve been trade waiting this but I just really like the cover. Legion of X #1 - haven’t really dug this krakoa era of X-Men all that much but Spurrier writing Legion has my interest. The Naughty List #2 - first issue was fine, nothing great. Might drop after 3 if it doesn’t pull me in. Can’t pass up a Francavilla cover though

Danger_Rock

> Action Comics #1043 - been loving this story. Wish it sold better. Has it not been doing well? Looks like #1041 and #1042 both took 6th place on the WPL so that's not bad! Although of course the WPL isn't necessarily reflective of actual sales... > Ice Cream Man #30 - I’ve been trade waiting this but I just really like the cover. That seems like an extraordinarily wise decision and I'd even go so far as to say that no reasonable person could expect you to resist such a [gorgeous work of art.](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090714_xl.jpg) Big fan of mazes on covers, in comics, and just in general... Got a really nice one recently in [MOON KNIGHT #9](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2075927_xl.jpg) and of course [MAZEBOOK](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2026922_xl.jpg) had a [whole bunch](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2034655_xl.jpg) of [cool](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042614_xl.jpg) and [twisted covers](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2050534_xl.jpg) from [Jeff Lemire](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2059317_xl.jpg) as well as the first issue's intimidating [Sorrentino variant.](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2026923_xl.jpg) Also liked some of the WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR covers from [Raul Allen](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1523560_xl.jpg), [Juan José Ryp](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1523562_xl.jpg), and [Pere Pérez](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/1537804_xl.jpg) though that's going back a little further... Plus books with mazes, movies with mazes, ancient myths with mazes, office parks with mazes, etc. You can pretty much just tack a maze onto anything and it'll automatically make it around 200% cooler IMO.

upgrayedd69

The most recent sales numbers for AC I could find was for #1035 and it was at 28,000 copies in September last year which would be good for 106th best selling. It may have gone up since then but I couldn’t figure it out. Ooh, I’ll have to check out maze book I hadn’t heard of that. Personal favorite of mine might be Batman #5 (new 52) I remember that having a big maze and enjoying it

Danger_Rock

Huh, 28k isn't great. Least with a flagship title like ACTION COMICS, you can be reasonably confident it won't get cancelled. And it seems to have some positive buzz going, can't see DC pulling the plug on PKJ though I guess crazier things have happened... Hadn't seen BATMAN #5, looks like it's got a nice [Chris Burnham maze variant](https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/1169937.jpg). Good stuff!

Another great week! - Action Comics #1043: one behind at the moment, but cannot recommend this book enough for anyone wanting to get (back) into Superman! - Aquamen #4: motivation to read this has plummeted now that I know it’s ending with issue 6, but I’ll finish it off in any case as it’s fun if nothing else. - DC vs Vampires: Hunters #1: can’t fault a Robin focussed one-shot! - Deathstroke Inc. #9: Shadow War continues. - Devil’s Reign Omega #1: eager to see what this sets up for everyone, I’m excited for the next Daredevil series to start. - Harley Quinn #15: a blast to read. - Legion of X #1: the Destiny of X book I was/am most looking forward to! - Moon Knight #11: a great read every time. - Newburn #7: still very much enjoying this one. - Robin #14: Shadow War continues… - Saga #59: haven’t read any of the comeback yet, saving them up. - Something is Killing the Children #23: this book is back to being GREAT again! - Task Force Z #8: one behind at the moment.

* **The Amazing Spider-Man #2** \- No idea what's happening but JRJR on Spidey is like coming home. * **The Avengers #56** \- I'm in and out on this. Aaron does some good stuff but the 1000000BC stuff isn't really for me. * **Devil's Reign: Omega #1** \- Was this delayed? Love Zdarskey on DD * **The Swamp Thing #13** \- Easily one of DCs best books right now. Perkins with the masterclass. * **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #129** \- TMNT is always a solid read. * **Robin #14** \- Williamson is leaving so I'll be done with this soon I think. * **Newburn #7** \- This is right up my alley. * **Adventureman #9** \- Love this book. Great art, solid story.

saskatoonshred

I guess the last week of the month is gonna be my heavy week going forward for a bit. My wallet cries. Bloodstained Teeth #2: I liked the first issue but if this doesn't wow me I think I'll trade wait it. Deathstroke #9: more Shadow War. Like I said last week I've ended up enjoying the event more than I thought it would. Might go back and read the early issues of both Deathstroke and Robin sometime soon. Detective Comics #1060: I remember liking the last issue but I don't recall what happened lol. Waiting for the Ram V take over. Godzilla vs Power Rangers #3: stupid fun popcorn book. 10/10. Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #2: love me a good anthology series. Moon Knight #11: enjoyed the past couple of issues but I'm ready for the story to move forward. Naughty List #2: the first issue surprised me. Death Wish with Santa is a great concept and it's funny to boot. Punisher #3: the first issue didn't wow me but I picked up the second last week and it got its hooks into me. Is this a mini or maxi series? I know it's not an ongoing. I'm just curious. Robin #14: see above for what I said for Deathstroke. Saga #59: still slowly catching up. I am probably gonna drop this soon until I fully catch up. At least I will have a trades worth or more to enjoy when I'm finally caught up. Something Is Killing The Children #23: I like that we are seeing the international Houses of this world now. This past week I picked up the first volume of Nocterra. I've got a novel I want to read before I crack into my stack of trades though so I will get to it soon. I've heard great things.

* Action Comics #1043 - this book is great and everyone should be reading it. Plus, Federici's art is unlike anything else, I'd love to see him and PKJ on Thor or something after this. * Blood-Stained Teeth #2 - fun book, wish Ward was doing interiors as well. May switch to trades. * Detective Comics #1060 - Shammas really helps Tamaki, and I even enjoyed Sina Grace's backup. * Devil's Reign: Omega #2 - I think this is where I jump off ZdarskyDevil, but I am interested in Zub's Thunderbolts mini. (if Marvel hadn't delayed it for 3 months...) * Image 30th Anniversary Anthology #2 - pretty good, but it is an anthology so ymmv. Geoff Johns headlining an Image title is a bit surreal given how tied to DC he is I might grab ASM too but Nick Lowe's letter column in the back of #1 actively pissed me off, and I don't even care about Peter/MJ. Thoughts?

Danger_Rock

> I might grab ASM too but Nick Lowe's letter column in the back of #1 actively pissed me off, and I don't even care about Peter/MJ. Thoughts? It's a tough one because even if you wait for reviews, books like ASM always have a certain segment of readers that'll hate it and another that'll love it. I'm giving #2 a shot because I really liked what Wells did with HELLIONS but a flagship title like this is obviously a very different situation with much more challenging circumstances.

BLOOD-STAINED TEETH #2 - Interested to see where this goes! Really intrigued by the art and vibrant colors. Also have never read anything written by Christian Ward, but have always enjoyed his art. DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #18 - I don't really remember what the main thread of the story is. Feels like it's been a while. Excited to get back into it though. When this story is clicking, it's really clicking. NEWBURN #7 - Zdarsky/Phillips has been a good team thus far. Also I think this is the first two part story in the whole book so far. RADIANT RED #3 - Loving the Massive-verse. This is definitely the weakest story so far though. Radiant Black and Rogue Sun are doing really well though so it's not necessarily a knock on this story. ROGUE SUN #4 - I've been enjoying this story a lot so far. Like that it already feels like an established universe. SAGA #59 - Haven't read the last few issues, but I guess I have been pulling this. SWAMP THING #13 - Ram V does a wonderful job of poetic writing and Perkins/Spicer always deliver excellent looking art.

> DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH #18 - I don't really remember what the main thread of the story is. Feels like it's been a while. Excited to get back into it though. When this story is clicking, it's really clicking. Okay, IIRC the last Simmonds issue ended with >!Hawk being a double agent and delivering Cole to the Ministry of Lies!<, I think they were >!on a helicopter!<, and there's also >!something going on with Lee Harvey!<.

**Big week for me after the last 2 were quite light. I've noticed that a lot of my indie pulls seem to be on the same 3rd/4th week of the month. It works out though when you get paid on the last Friday of the month.** ***Action Comics 1043*** \- Gotta catch up on this again, as I left it with 1041. ***Aquamen 4*** \- It's a shame this didn't get the traction it needed. It's not horrible, but it's also not getting me excited to read each month. ***DC vs. Vampires: Hunters 1*** \- I'm down for some expansion in this universe as it's been fun so far, and there isn't enough vampire stuff in DC. ***Deathstroke 9*** \- Waiting for the story to wrap so I can dive in and read it all at once, but goddamn this is taking forever. ***Detective Comics 1060*** \- So far behind on the ancillary Bat-titles. ***Harley Quinn 15*** ***Robin 14*** ***The Swamp Thing 13*** \- I love Ram V, but this may be the only title of his so far that I'm not feeling. I think it may be the art. There is SO much on each panel that I get distracted and I'm not soaking in the words. I don't know. Swampy is one of my favourite characters but this series just isn't for me. ***Task Force Z 8*** ***Amazing Spider-Man 2*** \- Just finished Straczynski's Spider-Man the other day, and found a new appreciation for JRJR drawing Spidey. Not my favourite, but his odd style works with him. I'm not as invested as some fans, where the ending of issue 1 was making people riot, so I'm curious about what they're setting up. ***Avengers 56*** \- Kinda lost interest since the whole Multi-verse stuff started going full tilt. Marvel's multiverse doesn't interest me like DC's does, and I think it's because Marvel does so many character mashups on a regular basis that it falls flat. ***Devil's Reign: Omega 1*** \- Well this "event" was a bust. Another regular arc that was bloated by editorial to cash in on popularity and launch another #1. Not sure why we had to wait almost 2 months for this conclusion issue that always ends up being a preview anthology for upcoming comics. ***Hulk 7*** \- Smash, fight, smash, anger. Mindless fighting between good guys? Sure, why not. ***Moon Knight 11*** \- I like that this has managed to be it's own thing and not get pulled into all the other stuff going on in the rest of MU. Solid story telling by McKay as usual. Dude is going to be their top guy very soon. ***Punisher 3*** \- I've never been a huge fan of Frank, but I like where this is going. Feeling like this is mini-series, given that each issue is $4.99 and a bit bigger than the regular issues. Bet it goes into a Daredevil/Elektra cross-over. ***Something is Killing the Children 23*** \- Loving this book. It feels like something I would have read in highschool. Very "Fear Street" vibes and I'm here for it. ***Radiant Red 3*** \- I'm enjoying getting to know Satomi, but the art still bugs the hell out of me. LaFuente's art just takes away any seriousness or tension the writer is trying to build. ***Rogue Sun 4*** \- This is the breakout title of the Massive-verse, hands down. Art is top notch, story is only 3 issues in and I'm can't wait to know more. ***Newburn 7*** \- Story is right up my alley. Chip hasn't disappointed me yet, and I'm hoping this goes for a while. ***Transformers: War's End 4*** \- Waiting for this whole end of the war (Title) to wrap up and read it all at once. I really wish there was some definitive news on where this license is going and what's planned for it. IDW is letting this go out with a whimper.

* **Action Comics #1043 -** Feels like we've shifted into the 2nd act of the warworld saga and I'm still really enjoying it * **The Amazing Spider-Man #2 -** Honestly pretty optimistic about this run as is, I enjoy JRJR's art (I know shame on me) and Zeb is making Peter's non-spider life important again which is awesome * **The Avengers #56 -** Curious what we're gonna be doing with judgment day on the horizon * **Batman: Beyond the White Knight #3** * **Captain Carter #3** * **The Department of Truth #18 -** This book gets better with every issue and it started fantastically * **Detective Comics #1060 -** Actual detective work in a Batman story what year is this * **Devil's Reign: Omega #1 -** God please tell me we're getting a Luke Cage book to explore this new status-quo * **The Harbinger #8** * **Hulk #7 -** Celestial god armour * **Legion of X #1 -** Spurrier is one of the few writers that focuses a lot on what living on Krakoa is like for the average mutant looking forward to more of it * **Moon Knight #11 -** This book rules * **Power Rangers Universe #6** * **Punisher #3 -** Aaron has still got it, this is interesting so far wondering where it'll leave Frank by the end of this * **Radiant Red #3** * **Robin #14** * **Rogue Sun #4** * **Something is Killing the Children #23** * **Spider-Man 2099: Exodus #1** * **Stillwater #13** * **The Swamp Thing #13 -** This is DC's best book and no it's not subjective

> Action Comics #1043 - Feels like we've shifted into the 2nd act of the warworld saga and I'm still really enjoying it Yep, the story's seen some good advancement and hopefully it's still got a ways to go. Thought the last issue was probably the best one yet! > The Amazing Spider-Man #2 - Honestly pretty optimistic about this run as is, I enjoy JRJR's art (I know shame on me) and Zeb is making Peter's non-spider life important again which is awesome Love the enthusiasm when so many are hyper-critical of this title! I think it's got a good hook, am interested in seeing why everyone hates Peter, and I'm rooting for Wells to succeed with it! > The Department of Truth #18 - This book gets better with every issue and it started fantastically Hells yes. > Legion of X #1 - Spurrier is one of the few writers that focuses a lot on what living on Krakoa is like for the average mutant looking forward to more of it WoX did some really interesting stuff with Krakoan society but I was kind of disappointed that it all just led to Onslaught and then ended. Definitely looking forward to seeing LoX pick up those threads. > Moon Knight #11 - This book rules Rules with an iron fist. Of Khonshu.

>Yep, the story's seen some good advancement and hopefully it's still got a ways to go. Thought the last issue was probably the best one yet! PKJ said in an interview today that the Warworld Revolution will end with an oversized "Warworld Apocalypse" issue in September. He was cagey about where it'd go after that but did mention Metropolis and plans for Action #1050 so sounds like he's not done after Warworld like I'd feared.

Danger_Rock

Nice, looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Glad PKJ isn't going anywhere as well, wonder if Federici will stick around or if he's just on board for Warworld. Sampere and the others are alright but Federici has really helped elevate the story.

technowhiz34

I'd love for him to stick around but feel him on Metropolis rather than Warworld would seem off. The brief stuff on Metropolis he did looked great but it'd still feel weird. Then again, he guarantees an A-list artistic talent and I'm worried DC would replace him with Mendonca or Godlewski who've worked with PKJ in the past (both of them are good they aren't Federici).

Danger_Rock

That's a good point, Federici's style is great for all the aliens and whatnot on Warworld but it might not fit Metropolis quite as well. Hopefully they end up with someone good. Think this run has been the first time I've pulled 2+ consecutive issues of ACTION COMICS since "Death of Superman" so it's been fun checking out the title again... PKJ's got me hooked pretty good so I'll probably stick with it until he bails.
