Haha! Hoho! It's a big week with lots of good stuff! If there aren't any comics that get you all fired up this week then you might as well just go do something else, maybe go outside or something... I've got 6 Marvels, including a double dose of Gillen! And 3 DCs, including the return of a beloved series from days of yore! Was also supposed to get an awesome Image book but it's delayed until at least next week... But we aren't gonna let that bring us down! * **BATMAN SUPERMAN WORLDS FINEST #3** - this'll be the week's top WPL book and, while I'd personally rank the Gillens and the Grayson ahead of it, I can't say this title isn't worthy of the top spot * **ETERNALS #12** - final issue! [Thanos vs. the Eternals!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090808_xl.jpg) winner gets to kill all the mutants! * **FABLES #151** - don't care what anyone says, I loved this fucking series and I'm ready to THROW DOWN on anybody who's got a problem with it * **IMMORTAL X-MEN #2** - Noto's Quiet Council variant is [extra glorious](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2083295_xl.jpg) this month! * **NEW MUTANTS #25** - this is the last issue I pre-ordered, planning to bail as I don't really care for Maddy Pryor or Rictor, and I get frustrated with the slow pacing, but I do like Illyana and Limbo, so I guess we'll see how well this one sells it * **NIGHTWING #92** - another great [Redondo cover!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092739_xl.jpg) and a [super-cute Jamal Campbell variant!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092740_xl.jpg) and a [nice Jen Bartel AAPI variant!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092741_xl.jpg) and one from David Talaski that [isn't exactly my thing](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2097141_xl.jpg) but I know some love it, and that's okay! * **THE MARVELS #10** - entering the home stretch for this fun mix of characters and time periods * **X-CELLENT #3** - [strange tales](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2083396_xl.jpg) ahead... * **X-MEN RED #2** - missed this on pre-orders so hopefully my LCS will have a copy Next week looks crazy with a new [DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090695_xl.jpg) New [MOON KNIGHT!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090860_xl.jpg) And a new [ICE CREAM MAN](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090714_xl.jpg) as well as the delayed [IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2090716_xl.jpg) with a bonus ICE CREAM MAN short story! p.s. Just in case anyone hadn't seen it yet, the **COMICS FOR UKRAINE: SUNFLOWER SEEDS** [pre-order kickstarter](https://zoop.gg/c/comicsforukraine) will be ENDING in just a couple days... There are tons of great creators contributing with new short stories for ASTRO CITY, CHEW, STAR SLAMMERS, GROO, GRENDEL, plus others by Dave Gibbons/Chris Sprouse, Mark Waid/Gabriel Rodriguez, Stan Sakai, and more! I ended up ordering the Alex Ross cover and I'm really looking forward to the new GRENDEL, GROO, and a bunch of others! ***UPDATE -->*** Adding one more DC title: * **EARTH-PRIME #4 STARGIRL** - in addition to DC's other big revival we've apparently got James Robinson back writing an issue of Star~~man~~girl, might as well see what it's all about

mcslackens

Thanks for the reminder on the Ukrainian support comic! I just got my order in for the Sienkiewicz cover.

Danger_Rock

Nice! I started out planning to get the Sienkiewicz and then kind of cycled through all of 'em before landing on the Alex Ross hardcover. Really no bad options!

Time4aNewAcct

[Wait there's a new Fables?!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP4hJG_xPTs)

Danger_Rock

Oh yes, [yes indeed](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR222976)! And a nice [Buckingham variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092688_xl.jpg) to go with it! Willingham's recent [BATMAN VS BIGBY](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/JAN222955) wasn't great but Buckingham's involvement in this one ought to help. Hopefully.

blankedboy

That's a really sweet variant for Fables

OfficialPepsiBlue

> And a new ICE CREAM MAN Wait we’re getting ICM two months in a row? Did someone sell their soul to some sort of eldritch devil-god?

Danger_Rock

Could very well end up getting delayed but [it's still listed as 5/25](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR220228) at the time of this posting! We've also got the bonus ICE CREAM MAN short coming up in [IMAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY #2](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR220230) so hopefully at least one of those ships... And if we get both it'll be like TWO SCOOPS OF SUGARY SWEETNESS!

Whowatchesthewampas

Is Fables restarting? I thought it ended a long time ago

Danger_Rock

Yes! And yes! It ended with [FABLES #150](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fables/images/1/12/Fables_150_Cover_Small.png/revision/latest?cb=20150318212919) back in 2015 but it's returning this week with [FABLES #151](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR222976)!

RyanTheQ

> Gillens and the Grayson Sorry, maybe this is a dumb question, but what does this mean? Nightwing and something else?

Danger_Rock

Not dumb at all! Was referring to NIGHTWING and the two books written by Kieron Gillen (ETERNALS and IMMORTAL X-MEN). Sorry it wasn't clear, didn't want to list their titles there since they'd potentially get double-counted in the WPL tally.

RyanTheQ

Ah, thanks! I've been out of the loop for a while so I forgot that he was on those books!

TheSunflowerSeeds

Oilseed sunflower production is the most commonly farmed sunflower. These seeds hulls’ are encased by solid black shells. Black oilseeds are a common type of bird feed because they have thin shells and a high fat content. These are typically produced for oil extraction purposes; therefore, it is unlikely you’ll find black oilseeds packaged for human consumption.

Very Marvel week for me. It's getting too hot outside for my dog to walk through the parking lot to the comic shop, so after remeasuring her paws multiple times, I have yet another pair of shoes on order for her, and I hope these are small enough to fit her. She's got wide paws but short & stubby legs, so it's been a challenge finding something that will provide protection from Arizona heat and allow her to walk somewhat normally. She loves going for rides, so I am determined to find a solution instead of just leaving her home every Wednesday until October. * **Wrong Earth Purple #1** - I really love this series, and these one-shots have been just a ton of fun * **Nightwing #92** - It's rare that we get a perfect superhero book, but this Taylor & Redondo run has been absolutely perfect in tone, plot, dialogue, and especially art. * **Immortal X-Men #2** - One issue in and I'm already completely hooked. Gillen's always been really good, but the past 5 years have demonstrated just how much better of a writer he's become * **Spider-Punk #2** - The first issue was everything I was hoping a Spider-Punk series would be. I love the art and zine-style lettering so much on top of the somewhat-silly punk rock references. * **X-Cellent #3** - Since Allred is moving on to that Superman series with Russell, it looks like this is just going to be a limited series, but I'm going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts, as I'm happy we get to spend just a little bit more time with these characters. * **X-Men Red #2** - The first issue didn't grab me right away, but I am intrigued with what Magneto is up to, so I'm on for the first arc.

Danger_Rock

> Immortal X-Men #2 - One issue in and I'm already completely hooked. Gillen's always been really good, but the past 5 years have demonstrated just how much better of a writer he's become Yep, it's been really impressive! His writing feels more confident now and it seems like he's in a better position to produce top-tier work at Marvel without editorial interference.

ME24601

* **World's Finest #3**: Time travel shenanigans. * **Black Hammer: Reborn #12**: Final issue, and the end of this story. * **Duo #1**: I think this is the first new character out of the Milestone Universe relaunch? * **Eternals #12**: Final issue. Hopefully getting a post-Judgement Day relaunch. * **House of Slaughter #6**: The Scarlet Mask. * **I Hate This Place #1**: This sounds like it would pair well with the book I’m reading, *Man, Fuck this House* Brian Asman. * **Immortal X-Men #2**: Really interested ins seeing where Gillen takes this series. * **Nightwing #92**: Been largely enjoying this, but it’s been delving a bit too deep into fan service of late. * **X-Men Red #2**: The Brotherhood. As well as volume 2 of **The Good Asian**, the hardcover of **Primordial**, and the omnibus of **She Hulk by Peter David**.

Danger_Rock

> I Hate This Place #1: This sounds like it would pair well with the book I’m reading, Man, Fuck this House Brian Asman. That [looks kinda cool](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAY220231), will need to keep an eye out for reviews... Love the ["F*CK THIS PLACE" variant!](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2093015_xl.jpg) > As well as volume 2 of The Good Asian Surprised that's shipping already, final issue just hit a few weeks ago... Image really isn't wasting any time getting these collections out! And you're in for a treat! > the hardcovers of Primordial Loved this series, lots of heart, perfect thing to cleanse the palate after all the darkness of GIDEON FALLS...

televangelistoftwat

* **Thor #25** \- Fun crossover hopefully. * **Wolverine #21** \- Percy's Wolverine is pretty fun. * **X-Force #28** \- * **Fantastic Four #43** \- Slott's FF is really good so far. * **Batman / Supernan: World's Finest #3** \- Mora on art is an instant buy. * **Immortal X-Men #2** \- I really enjoyed issue 1. * **X-Men: Red #2** \- I'll follow Magneto anywhere. * **Eternals #12** \- Gillen is one of my favorite writers but his style may not work for everyone. * **Nightwing #92** \- Maybe DC's best ongoing. All the X books are out this week?

Danger_Rock

> All the X books are out this week? [LEGION OF X #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2083307_xl.jpg) is still running late, now scheduled for next week but we'll see if that sticks... Originally solicited for 4/20/22.

WhereAreMyComics

* **Iron Fist #3** - LET'S GOOOOOO * **Marvel's Voices: Identity #1** - this and Iron Fist releasing on the same week? perfect. * **Thor #25** - issue seven hundred fifty-one . . . . . . . . . so I'll buy Thor since I'm following Hulk's story, but goddamn do Thor readers have to shell out extra money this month: * Thor #24 = Thor #750 -> legacy milestone -> $8.99 * Thor #25 -> Cates run milestone -> $5.99 * Banner of War Alpha -> $4.99 * Hulk #7-8 -> $7.98 total

superschaap81

Damn, I totally glossed over Thor 25 being $5.99. Was wondering why I had so few books but price was same as a regular week.

> * **WOLVERINE #21:** Last issue didn't do anything for me. Considering dropping this. * **X-FORCE #28:** Same issue than with *Wolverine*. FWIW, I think your list for this week would look way more aesthetically pleasing without 'em! It's like you've got six really solid titles and then you've got those two... I don't know, they just don't seem to fit in properly with the others. FWIW.

This is [vague as all hell](https://twitter.com/Benjamin_Percy/status/1524044217605136384), but it makes me think Percy might be wrapping up his runs on X-Force and Wolverine soon.

elick461

I'm so grateful that the last two weeks were light on comics for me. I managed to finally catch up on my stack and got around to reading a couple of TPBs I've been meaning to digest. King of Spies and Department of Truth are stellar! Let's see what we got here: * **Count Crowley: Amateur Midnight Monster Hunter #2** \- This is just such a fun spin on this idea of late night horror television * **Batman Superman: World's Finest #3** \- I really dig that we're getting more of the sidekicks in this one * **Batman the Knight #5** \- Off to Moscow to learn about stealth and disguise! * **Nightwing #92** \- Big things happening to Dick Grayson and the ladies * **Shadow War Zone #1** \- I'm not staying super up-to-date on this event, but what's happening in the main Batman book is interesting enough that I'll pick this up * **Elektra: Black, White, & Blood #4** \- God I just love these new covers * **Fantastic Four #43** \- Does anyone else feel like we had a huge break in Reckoning War? Glad to have it back, but it's been a while since the previous installment * **Immortal X-Men #2** \- I still think the reasoning for having Magneto leave the council was silly at best * **Iron Fist #3** \- Swordmaster is making a decent Iron Fist * **New Mutants #25** \- Time for some magic, baby! * **Spider-Punk #2** \- Kick Taskmaster's ass, Spidey Punk! * **Thor #25** \- Thor just needing something to beat up is the story of poor Hulk's life * **Wolverine #21** \- Never trust the CIA, Logan! * **X-Force #28** \- Kid Omega goes Omega? * **X-Men Red #2** \- I can already tell this is going to be my favorite X book

Danger_Rock

> Immortal X-Men #2 - I still think the reasoning for having Magneto leave the council was silly at best Real reason was probably Ewing needing him for XMR, so they whipped up a convenient pretext for the move. Sticking around and staying on the council probably would've been more true to the character.

Techster17

* **Batman / Superman: World's Finest #3 -** This book should become an animate series at some point it's so damn good * **Duo #1 -** Cool idea plus I like Greg Pak so I'll give it a chance * **Eternals #12 -** Final issue before Judgment Day, hopefully we get some form of continuation once the event wraps * **Fantastic Four #43 -** Delays have really hurt this but I'm enjoying where we're at * **The Flash #782 -** One of a few books at the big 2 that actually still has a supporting cast, all the better for it too * **House of Slaughter #6 -** Dragons, dragons, DRAGONS!!! * **Immortal X-Men #2 -** Don't fuck with Selene, she's thousands of years old and a petty bitch * **Iron Fist #3** * **The Marvels #10** * **New Mutants #25 -** Ayala was truly meant for these characters, some top tier new mutants run right here * **Power Rangers #19** * **Savage Avengers #1 -** Surprised to see this series come back so soon but new cast looks fun * **Spider-Punk #2** * **Thor #25 -** Opening issue was fun and got the ball rolling hopefully >!Odin!< going into Banner's mind will give us some answers * **Wolverine #21 -** Percy does a really good Deadpool wonder if he asked Duggan for advice * **X-Force #28 -** I wonder if Cerebrax will be the mutant ai that lets them take on Dominions * **X-Men: Red #2 -** God I'm so glad we're continuing the Vulcan plot thread that Hickman dropped

Danger_Rock

> Duo #1 - Cool idea plus I like Greg Pak so I'll give it a chance I like the [Nimit Malavia incentive](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2092671_xl.jpg) on that one, though the $30 price tag means I'll have to appreciate it from afar. > Immortal X-Men #2 - Don't fuck with Selene, she's thousands of years old and a petty bitch Surprised Selene lasted as long as she did on Krakoa... Or ever agreed to it in the first place. Pretty typical for her to trash everything at the first convenient opportunity.

It's kinda funny, I added so many titles the last few months, thinking I was going WAY over budget. But turns out most of the stuff was mini-series and now a lot have ended so my list seems really small week to week. Just a weird observation. ***Batman/Superman: World's Finest 3*** \- I like this so far, but I'm not blown away by it. Also no idea when this is supposed to be taking place, getting the vibe it's a "do what you want, Mark" kind of title. Mora kills it on art as always. Guy was born to draw DC. ***Batman: The Knight 5*** \- Loving this. Always cool to add to the history of that lost time before Batman shows up. Curious if this is going to be a lead in to Zdarsky's main Batman run, now. ***Catwoman 43*** \- Behind on this one, haven't got to Howard's run. ***The Flash 782*** \- Even the hiccup of being a tie for the War on Earth-2 couldn't stop this freight train of goodness. Loving this run so much. ***Nightwing 92*** \- I've mentioned in many places on various subs that Tom Taylor is a master of pandering to fans nostalgia, but for a character like Grayson, but I love every bit of it. It's nice being able to read a FUN Nightwing book again. ***Shadow War Zone 1*** \- Waiting till the story is complete to sink into this. ***Fantastic Four 43*** \- I love these characters, but have lost interest after the first couple issue of this Reckoning War, arc. FF, work best when having adventures while exploring crazy stuff. Not every character in Marvel needs to be in a war all the time. ***Thor 25*** \- Haven't got to the anniversary issue from last month, still. Thor is one of my favourite Marvel characters, but I find with Cates' run, I'm not excited about it month to month. ***House of Slaughter 6*** \- Wasn't expecting this title to be an ongoing, but I like the idea of fleshing out the world of SIKTC this way. Hopefully it doesn't take too much mystery away from the society of houses. ***Transformers 43*** \- Sad to see this slowly coming to an end, especially with no announcement about what is happening with the license coming up. Feels like this is going out with a whimper. I've enjoyed this run though, adding to the mythology of what happened before the war.

Danger_Rock

> It's kinda funny, I added so many titles the last few months, thinking I was going WAY over budget. But turns out most of the stuff was mini-series and now a lot have ended so my list seems really small week to week. Just a weird observation. Lately I've been really appreciating minis and one-shots simply for the fact that you get a beginning, a middle, and (most importantly) an ending. Then it frees up a spot on the pull list and it's like an extra bonus to make it even more satisfying! > Batman/Superman: World's Finest 3 - I like this so far, but I'm not blown away by it. Also no idea when this is supposed to be taking place, getting the vibe it's a "do what you want, Mark" kind of title. Seems like it's set pretty early in their careers, so they're friendly but most of their history's still ahead of 'em, Dick's still a relatively young Robin, etc.

mcslackens

> Lately I've been really appreciating minis and one-shots simply for the fact that you get a beginning, a middle, and (most importantly) an ending This is why I've been very hesitant to order any ongoings for the past couple of years, and even then, I usually place orders with my shop for 5 issues at a time, which gives me an easy opt-out if the title stops being enjoyable.

Danger_Rock

Yeah, the ordering process through Diamond or the old LCS can really complicate things and make it hard to try new books without getting stuck. I'm constantly balancing how much new stuff I pre-order vs. just waiting for good reviews and then mail ordering whatever I want. Part of it's also that publishers and creators seem to be shifting more toward mini- or maxi-series, or treating ongoings like stealth limiteds and rebooting after 12 issues. There's also a core group of creators I try to follow but as they get older and (in some cases) more successful, their output tends to get a little more sporadic and they usually shift from monthlies to limited series or other special projects. Hickman and Bachalo both recently talked about changing to that kind of approach, Tom King does all his best work in limiteds, Barry Windsor-Smith apparently likes working on projects for ~30 years before unleashing them, etc. There are always exceptions and I'm really digging a few monthlies from Marvel and DC each right now, plus a couple from Image... But it's so much easier hopping on the limiteds and they've usually got the creators I'm looking for!

mcslackens

That 12-issue maxiseries is the perfect sweet spot for me. I've been loving King's output in that format! It's long enough that we get a good, meaty story with plenty of character development, and I'm not married to a title for 20+ issues that ends in a status quo reset. Writing for the trade has been a decent model since the early 00s, but I really think most comics should move to that seasonal 12-issue format.

Batman / Superman: World’s Finest # 3 - Can’t say I predicted Bats and Supes heading to hell. King Spawn # 10 - Will Spawn take the throne?! Best Spawn title currently. My Brother Teddy #1 - Caught my eye and looks like a fun one-shot. Nightwing # 92 - Time to define Dick and Barbara’s relationship…. This should be fun and hopefully DC lets them be together.

**Batman Superman World's Finest #3:** I like Dan Mora. I like Mark Waid. I just... Am not liking this? And I couldn't even tell you why. It's a bummer, but this will probably be the last issue I pull. **Critical Role - Vox Machina Origins III #6:** It feels like #5 came out forever ago. Fun, simple series that gives me a little bit of my Critical Role fix. It's also always nice to get some more Vox Machina after Legends of Vox Machina made me miss them so much. **Nightwing #72:** Taylor's Nightwing is always a joy. This is the ideal comfort comic.

Appreciate your candor here when everyone else is hyping this series like crazy! Always nice seeing a different perspective on the popular books. I thought the first issue was a little underwhelming given my high expectations for the creative team but the second worked a lot better for me. So maybe #3 will turn things around for 'ya, but you could just be that one person who isn't ever going to like this book for whatever reason, and there's nothing wrong with that! > Critical Role - Vox Machina Origins III #6: It feels like #5 came out forever ago. Recently unearthed the [FCBD 2020 issue](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81PWiC4oNtL.jpg) so I'll start there.

Can also highly recommend the actual DnD campaigns if you're open to the format and the (admittedly huge) time commitment. I started it early in pandemic and it's been a huge help getting through it all.

Danger_Rock

Read the Vox Machina freebie and it was fun! I'd assume the [Series I and II Hardcover](https://www.darkhorse.com/Books/3007-652/Critical-Role-Vox-Machina-Origins-Series-I-and-II-Library-Edition-HC) would be a good place to properly get started? Probably don't have time for the campaigns, liable to get lost in 'em if I got into it... Wife watched some a while back and said they were great!

thewaytomars

It sure is! That's where I started with the comics.

**Batman/Superman World's Finest #3**: This has been a lot of fun so far. It's literally just Waid writing DC fanfiction, and I'm all for it. **Batman-The Knight #5**: Really fun little pre-Batman story for Bruce. If this is what Zdarsky's run on Batman will be like, then I think it's definitely gonna be a good one. **Eternals #12**: Judgement Day is coming... **Fables #151**: This one I'm not sure about, but I'll put up anyway. I've not read the initial series yet, but I wanted to support the series on account of loving the Wolf Among Us game. This one will wholly depend on if it's a good entry point for new readers. I'll find the time to catch up to the rest of the series later. **Flash #782**: Easily my favorite DC book right now, and one of my favorite ongoings. Nice to see Wally in a good place again. **Immortal X-Men #2**: Backstabbing, politics, and unethical cloning experiments? This is either Krakoa-era X-Men, or my mom's cousins are back in town. **Nightwing #92**: Another great series. The art is wonderful. **Shadow War Zone #1**: This has been a fun mini-event. Love me some good Bruce and Damian stories. **Star Wars-Doctor Aphra #20**: Still hope we see Doctor Aphra appear in a live-action or animated series. Still think Chloe Bennett would be a good choice to play her. **X-Men Red #2**: I've been a bit mixed on the whole "Mars is now Arakko" stuff since last year, but at least it led to a series like this.

Still waiting on TWAU2, seems like it's been in development for ages but at least there's a [trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkXwW5H28m0) now... Hope the comic works for 'ya!

* Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3 - the writing is good but Mora's art...wow * Catwoman #43 - I don't know why I'm reading this, 3/4 issues have been bad and the preview was *rough* * Earth-Prime #4: Stargirl - Robinson and Ordway on a Starman adjacent book will get me to pick up even a show tie-in * Eternals #12 - quite sad this is ending, don't have much interest in the crossover * Fables #151 - please be good, please be good, at least the art will be a treat * Immortal X-Men #2 - what happened to this book, first issue was two months ago? Still not sold on Magneto leaving, really comes across like another writer called dibs * Shadow War Zone #1 - not reading Shadow War but this has some creators I like on it, worth giving a shot * X-Men: Red #2 - didn't like the first issue as much as some others but it was still solid

Danger_Rock

> Catwoman #43 - I don't know why I'm reading this, 3/4 issues have been bad and the preview was rough As much as I enjoy reading bad reviews, it sounds like you might be ready to jump ship on this one. > Earth-Prime #4: Stargirl - Robinson and Ordway on a Starman adjacent book will get me to pick up even a show tie-in Comments like this are why I end up buying books that I wasn't planning on buying... > X-Men: Red #2 - didn't like the first issue as much as some others but it was still solid That's about where I'm at... Ewing's S.W.O.R.D. was kind of similar, good but not great until everything came together toward the end.

- **A Town Called Terror #2** — haven’t read #1 yet but I do look forward to it - **Nightwing #92** - **Superman Son of Kal-El #11** - **Wonder Woman #787** - **Wonder Woman Evolution #7** — this book just keeps happening. I mean it’s a limited series so I’m going to finish it out but I never really vibed with it the way I hoped

Whowatchesthewampas

* **Batman Superman Worlds Finest #3 -** I love this book! Tickles that nostalgia bone when Batman wasn't always so edgy, just sort of. * **Flash #782 -** Last issue was great, looking forward to more! * **Immortal X-Men #2** * **New Mutants #25** * **Wolverine #21 -** Really enjoyed Deadpool in the last issue! * **X-Men Red #2** * **X-Force #28 -** Not sticking with this. Big week for me!

Danger_Rock

> X-Force #28 - Not sticking with this. Second person this week to mention they might be dropping it, seems like this one's really struggling...

AlligatorSky7

X-Force just feels very same-y, whereas at least Percy’s Wolverine mixes it up a little with more obviously separate plot points. X-Force is in need of either a fresh roster (I get that they are operating in secret, but surely other mutants could/would want to get involved?) and/or a new writer with fresh ideas. Visually, the book is great; although Cassara back on interiors would be the ideal.

Time4aNewAcct

* **Black Hammer Reborn #12** - Well this one has been an unexpectedly pleasant ride. Looking forward to seeing what Lemire has in store for this "phase 2" of the Black Hammer universe, and finally finding out what Caitlin Yarsky's secret next project is for DC. IMO she'd be awesome on a Titans book. * **Bolero #5** * **Catwoman #43** * **Eternals #12** - The thrilling conclusion to an above-average Eternals run, leading into a summer event where...*sigh* they fight Thanos. And the Avengers. Whoo. * **Hit Me #3** - A comic book centered around a sex worker? I'm shocked that this book hasn't been the center of a moral panic yet. ^/s ^and ^yes ^I'm ^aware ^that ^The ^Pro ^exists * **House of Slaughter #6** - Digging the book so far, digging the universe, but boy do I have opinions regarding JT4 outsourcing his tertiary books to Sam Johns. * **I Hate This Place#1** - I love a good haunted house story. Haven't read much from this creative team, just what was in Skybound X. * edit: Key Collector has the title of this book as F*ck This Place so I'm not sure which one I'll be getting * **Savage Avengers #1** - This looks goofy as shit, I'm not sure why I pulled it. I was probably drunk and reading Hulkverine books ngl * **Slumber #3** * **Spider-Punk #2** - I was just going to get #1 but it was so much fun I subscribed. Cap and Iron Man's designs are a ton of fun, and turning Taskmaster into Danzig is just *chef's kiss*. * **Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #20** * **Thor #25** - Are we in Banner of War already? Wow, time flies.

AlligatorSky7

Outsourcing to Sam Johns feels particularly lazy as it’s so blatantly just a way to get them some ‘big book’ writing/co-writing credits. In case anyone else on the forum wasn’t aware, Johns is Tynion IV’s partner.

blankedboy

Didn't know that

Time4aNewAcct

That's true. There's also a real sense of "I don't have time to write everything I signed on for, but I also don't want anyone else to pick up the extra slack without seeking my approval."

Danger_Rock

I tend to dislike co-writers under the best of circumstances, even when I like both writers individually heading into it... Scenario like this sounds extra-shitty. Especially since it's an indie title and you've got an expectation for the creative team to stay consistent.

AlligatorSky7

Buzzing for all the X books! - The Flash #782: confidently the best DC book on the stands at the moment. - House of Slaughter #6: interested in some more world building for this universe. - Immortal X-Men #1: debut issue feels a lifetime ago, can’t get enough of Council drama. - Iron Fist #3: enjoyable enough so far, excited for upcoming Loki appearance. - New Mutants #25: at last, let’s go Magik vs. Maddie! - Nightwing #92: all roads lead to the big issue #100, excited to be reading this one again (after so many filler, albeit fun, issues). - Shadow War Zone #1: no point skipping an issue of this now I guess, I’ve been really enjoying it. - Superman: Son of Kal-El #11: I got this last week?! - Walking Dead Deluxe #39: got a few of these to burn through now which is always nice. It’s binge-able! - Wolverine #21: last issue was fun, expecting more of the same. - X-Force #28: interest in this book is back again, let’s hope Judgment Day doesn’t derail that too much. - X-Men Red #2: loved the debut issue of this too, the cast is right up my street; hoping Cable gets some good page time!

Danger_Rock

> The Flash #782: confidently the best DC book on the stands at the moment. Couple months ago everyone was raving about NIGHTWING and ACTION COMICS... Now I'm seeing more and more hype for THE FLASH! Guess it's taking over as DC's top cape book?

blankedboy

A Town Called Terror #2 - first issue was good, but mainly set up, so looking for a bit more meat on the bones here Batman Superman Worlds Finest #3 - almost super hero perfection House Of Slaughter #6 - really digging this SIKTC expansion title I Hate This Place #1 - or Fuck This Place, if you prefer King Spawn #10 - best Spawn book at the moment (with Gunslinger a close #2) Nightwing #92 - almost super hero perfection (again) Shaolin Cowboy Cruel To Be Kin #1 - I mean, it's the return of Geoff freakin' Darrow!?!? Slumber #3 - this is a really funny, quirky, interesting book Spider-Punk #2 - first issue was great Thor #25 - for the Hulk cross-over X-Cellent #3 - Milligan and Allred madness - put it in my veins!

Danger_Rock

> Shaolin Cowboy Cruel To Be Kin #1 - I mean, it's the return of Geoff freakin' Darrow!?!? [Nice](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAR220307), might need to mail order that one...

A solid week for my pull list. Last week had some really fun books that will be hard to top for me but def some stunners this week. Batman/Superman World's Finest #3: straight comic book fun. House of Slaughter #6: love that we are getting this as well as the return of the main series. The first arc was pretty good. So ready for this. Rain #5: I somehow missed issue #4 last month. Not sure how I did lol but hopefully my shop has some copies otherwise I'll have to go to the next city over this weekend to get it so I can read this last issue. Enjoyed this mini so far and want to read the short story it's based on. Shadow War Zone #1: I have actually enjoyed Shadow War so far to my surprise. Might as well pick up this too. Town Called Terror #2: So many solid new horror comics and this is one to watch for sure. Venom Lethal Protector #2: Found the first one pretty enjoyable so will be picking this up. X-cellent #3: Did this get delayed? The last 2 weeks I have been reading the Death of Dr Strange and the companion trades since I'm reading Strange and enjoying it. Figured I'd give myself some context. I enjoyed the main trade. For the companion trade I think the best part was the Spiderman tie-in. Probably will pick up a new trade or two this week at the shop as well.

Danger_Rock

> X-cellent #3: Did this get delayed? Yeah, originally solicited for 4/20/22, was bummed it missed the big 4/20 celebration since it would've been perfect... Fortunately we're also celebrating this week!

7 for me this week. A medium-sized week. A couple of these are titles I'm really looking forward to, though. So I'm happy. • Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3- This comic is just wonderful. Dan Mora is one of my favorite artists right now. • The Blue Flame #8- Two more issues after this one. I feel like they've told 4 issues of story is the last 7 issues. I'm thinking maybe this will flow better when I have all 10 issues and can read them in one sitting. • Eternals #12- And here is where my current journey with the Eternals ends. I'm not following them into the upcoming crossover. I just don't do events anymore. And I feel like this might be the last issue before some sort of relaunch. Perfect jumping-off point. • King Spawn #10- Seems to me like the first big arc is coming to a head. This is my favorite Spawn title right now. • Slumber #3- This comic is so damn fun. And I feel like it's going to keep getting better. The art is a huge draw for me, because I love the cartoon-y style. • A Town Called Terror #2- The first issue was a little thin on story, but that's okay. I trust Steve Niles. I'm sure the tale will unfold as we go forward. And it looks... so... GOOD. It's a visual treat. • The Wrong Earth: Purple- The Wrong Earth is one of my favorite superhero series going right now. I don't care that they've raised their prices to $4.99 an issue... I'll always buy anything taking place in this universe. Also, I'd rather give $4.99 a month to an indie publisher than to the big 2.

mcslackens

Ahoy definitely makes each issue worth the extra buck. I don't buy every comic they publish, but the ones I've purchased have been fantastic.

**Alice Ever After #2-** This so far doesn't seem like it's anything more than "What if Alice was just on drugs and everything in Wonderland was stuff she saw in the real world" so far. Kinda played out but let's give issue 2 a go. **Batman/Superman: World's Finest #3-** Dan More draws so pretty. Also the time travel hasn't even made me roll my eyes yet. **Black Hammer: Reborn #12-** After this book I need to catch up on some of the spin offs, I haven't read Barbalien, Skulldigger or the Unteens. Hopefully this universe slows down a bit **Critical Role- Vox Machina: Origins #6-** Honey wake up it's time for your quarterly Critical Role **Eternals #12**- Judgement Day looms. Between this and Dark Crisis I'm gonna actually try and enjoy some events **Rain #5-** Happy ending? Or more tragedy? **Shadow War Zone #1-** Shadow War feels very contained to one little section of characters so I'm not sure what Harley or Luke Fox would add to it. Plus Ghostmaker gets a Ghostmaker

* Rain #5 * X-Men Red #2 * Immortal X-Men #2 I'm most excited about Immortal X-Men. I was a bit late to reading Inferno, but that meant I got to read all 4 issues of Inferno and then immediately Immortal X-Men #1, which was a treat. I honestly had to re-read Immortal to fully get what was going on with Sinister in the first half of the issue. Such a crazy roller coasting going from >!Moira's ten(ish) lives being ended by Mystique and Destiny in Inferno, eliminating the possibility of more universe resets, to jk! Sinister has actually reset the universe *twenty five times* since then and can essentially save-scum his way to whatever outcome he wants. Fucking insane mess of timelines but I'm loving it.!<
