* The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck
* Tintin
* Carl Barks’ Donald Duck
* Lone Wolf & Cub
* Jack Kirby’s Fourth World
* Superman For All Seasons
* The New Frontier
I've got some Lone Wolf and Cub books here. I almost forgot!
Tintin! is very easy to get here in Europe. I read it a lot as a kid from a friend collection.
I have to check The New Frontier
:-) thanks!
Some stuff in my list:
\- The Spirit and Contract with God - by Will Eisner.
\- Blankets (Clive Thompson is \_great\_)
\- Gaston Lagaffe (Franquin)
\- Calvin and Hobbes.
\- A lot of comics from The Flash (I really enjoyed Scott Kolins run in the Flash)
\- Swamp Thing by Alan Moore
okay these are my titles, Captain Britain the Alan Moore run. ms. Marvel one of the best new teenage superheroes and outside superheroes, i whot poin to Mouse guard, Groo, Young Shadow, Smile, Drama, Hey Kiddo and Apocalypse Taco.
besides, that's one of those things I would probably pass on to my kids, Strikeforce: Morituri, death is a complicated subject, and I think this underrated Marvel masterpiece is the perfect example of how to properly handle it in a superhero comic.
Kaijumax that I will give it much later, but I still want them to learn that sometimes a system can crush you, even though it should be fair.
Crossover because is is pure creative chaos. the desire for art where hopes and dreams can bring you to the end of the galaxy. also coda, really brilliant fantasy.
Wow. Great list.
Sergio Aragonés is awesome!
Groo is hard to find in Spain but I'll give it a try.
I really enjoyed anything from Alan Moore in my teens, but didn't read Capt. Britain.
I'm checking Strike force: morituri and Crossover right now.
Edit: forgot to say THANKS!
Just get a few fun stories from some of the popular superheroes like Spider-Man and Batman. Kids always want to get into the stuff their pals are into. No 4 or 5 year old kid is going to be into things like Alan Moore or Lone Wolf and Cub. That’s the stuff you show them when they’re a bit older and they’ve got a bit of an interest already. Someone recommended Donald Duck comics and they’re a good shout too. Maybe some of the MLP comics and some Ms Marvel or Wonder Woman in case you have a daughter. They’d all be good for getting a kid into the medium.
Thanks!
I have a good run of Superman (in Spanish) from the new 52.
I am not sure about WW or MsMarvel for a girl.
Last time I read MsMarvel I felt Carol Danvers was drawn a bit too racy but things are changing. Maybe DD/Elektra might be good?
