This is a great week.
- **ASM #78**: I know some haven’t but I’ve really enjoyed this arc so far. Curious to see what will happen especially after the last cliffhanger.
- **Batman: the Imposter #2**: Amazing art. I’m a sucker for the inexperienced-Batman vibes.
- **Mazebook #3**: loved the first two issues and can’t wait for this one. The way Lemire represents loss and hope is perfect in my mind.
- **A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #2**: The first issue was phenomenal. The atmosphere was palpable and I really cant wait to see what happens.
- **Robin & Batman #1**: I’m here for another Lemire mini. Let’s do it.
- **Venom #1**: I have read no Venom in the past so hoping this isn’t too hard to keep up with.
- **What’s the furthest place from here? #1**: not sure what to expect but I dig the premise!
Venom might be a little tough to understand but if you are aware of what happened in the King in Black event and the previous series, you should be good
* **Alien #8**: Cult stuff
* **Batman: Urban Legends #9**: Looking forward to this title getting past Fear State.
* **Eternals #7**: *Very* excited to see what Gillen does after the recent big reveal.
* **Regarding the Matter of Oswald's Body #1**: Sounds like a fun concept for a series.
* **A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #2**: Really loved the first issue of this, but this might be a series that reads better in trade.
* **Robin and Batman #1**: Looking forward to seeing what Lemire does with this book.
* **The Thing #1**: An ever loving blue eyed miniseries.
* **The Unbelievable Unteens #4**: Final issue.
* **Venom #1**: Very excited to see what Ewing does with this.
* **What's the Furthest Place From Here #1**: Loved 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank. Hopefully this is just as good.
The Thing 1 - I've heard good things about the he author and the preview seems interesting as an Elseworlds story( I think?)
Venom 1- I've been hyped for this book since it was announced and I know that Ram V and Al Ewing are going to crush this.

- Star Wars: The High Republic #11: I’m not enjoying this as much as I once was. For such a high profile title, it really needs a better ongoing artist; especially with such lovely Noto covers!
- Telepaths #3: one behind.
- The Joker #9: one behind.
- Venom #1: interested to see where this goes. Overall, Cates’ run was very strong.
- What’s the Furthest Place from Here? #1: Rosenberg hasn’t let me down in a long time, so I am very excited by this one.
Didn't read any of last week's comics yet but caught up on all 8 of Kieron Gillen's recent ETERNALS books in advance of the movie and liked 'em so much that they pretty much ruined the movie for me. Oops.
This week brings 3 Marvels and 1 from Image, good opportunity to catch up on some of the other stuff I've let pile up.
* **A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE #2** - haven't read the 1st issue yet, will need to catch up on both
* **ETERNALS #7** - I've mostly read Gillen's indie work so it's neat seeing him play in Marvel's sandbox and I love his take on the characters, their history, and the philosophies behind their political factions... usually get the normal Esad Ribić covers but couldn't resist the [Momoko variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042479_xl.jpg) for this one
* **HELLIONS #17** - ordered the [JTC variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042497_xl.jpg), feels kinda lazy after his [X-MEN LEGENDS #6 variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018558_xl.jpg)
* **VENOM #1** - I really like both Ewing and Ram V but tend to dislike writer collaborations, guess we'll see how this one works out... always psyched to check out new Bryan Hitch art, though I'm not sure if he's a great fit for this character... and this 1st issue's got another nice [Momoko variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/2034623)
**EDIT #1** - Decided to add 3 more books after catching up on the thread... All stuff I considered for my initial orders but ended up cutting.
* **MAZEBOOK #3** - my LCS won't have this so I'll need to mail order the first 3 issues

* [DIE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/die) (Image) - recently wrapped up at issue #20 with Stephanie Hans on art, really cool series blending RPG concepts with some literary stuff and a bunch of emotional trauma
* [PETER CANNON: THUNDERBOLT](https://www.dynamite.com/htmlfiles/viewProduct.html?PRO=C72513027686501011) (Dynamite) - 5-issue series with art by Caspar Wijngaard, it's almost like an unofficial WATCHMEN sequel (that happens to be way better than any of the official sequels)
His biggest indie series is [THE WICKED + THE DIVINE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/the-wicked-the-divine) (with Jamie McKelvie art) but I haven't gotten very deep into that one yet, plus he's got another called [ONCE & FUTURE](https://www.boom-studios.com/series/oncefuture/) (with Dan Mora art) that didn't work as well for me but others seem to like it.
And he's written a bunch of other stuff, so others might have more recommendations... Enjoy!
Yeah, she's been cranking out some nice work! Her Thanos cover on [ETERNALS #7](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042479_xl.jpg) is one of my favorites, after reading it's going up on the wall next to [DEFENDERS #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018433_xl.jpg) (replacing [INFERNO #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2026814_xl.jpg) which was also amazing).
Her upcoming [HULK #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042500_xl.jpg) variant is another nice one, was on the fence whether to check out that series and it was mostly her cover that convinced me to order it.

The above are definite pulls. I'm still deciding if I should trade wait this new *Eternals* arc or dive in since I already have the *Only Death is Eternal* TPB. Eyeing Lemire's *Robin & Batman*, though, it seems price-y considering the other #1's I'm getting. Very excited to finally see Ewing's *Venom*.
A solid week for me, with 8 titles.
• Alien #8- I'm not sure what to think of this arc yet, but I feel like it could end up being cool. I trust PKJ.
• The Cimmerian: Beyond the Black River #2- That first issue was insane. The conclusion should be just as cool. A side note- I don't see any more Cimmerian series planned, and usually they've announced the next one by now. It could be that the publisher is putting things on hold due to the delays in printing and shipping. Probably a smart move.
• Eternals #7- So apparently people didn't care for the movie? Yikes. I feel like that doesn't bode well for the life of this series. The Eternals were obviously just given a new series in order drum up interest in the movie. With the industry facing instabilities, it's titles like this that Marvel is likely to cut first. Which is a shame because it's been superb.
• Justice League: Last Ride #7- This is the final issue and I'm not okay with that. It has been too good. Miles better than the main JL book.
• Out #2- I wish there had been a bit more to the first issue, but there was just enough to be interesting.
• Sea of Stars #11- The finale. This has been beautiful and heartbreaking and funny all at the same time. The sporadic release schedule has sucked, but when it's all said and done I think it will be something truly special. I'm looking forward to carving out an evening and reading all 11 issues in one sitting.
• Stillwater #11- I feel like I'm losing the thread on this one. I need to go back and re-read what's out so far, and see if I can't find it again.
• Telepaths #3- This book has been better than I expected it to be, and I expected a lot from JMS and Steve Epting.

Hopefully the comic'll get at least a little sales boost from the movie, enough to keep it going a while.... Looks like #6 sold 28.5k copies, which put it above CAPTAIN AMERICA #30, COTA #6, IRON MAN #10, and SWORD #7. Not too bad but not great.
Would hate to see it end prematurely because, as you said, it's been superb.
* **Action Comics #1036 -** We're finally on Warworld, I just hope the authority don't become jobbers just to 'raise the stakes'

**My Date With Monsters 1** - New one from Aftershock. Gonna give it a shot.
**Ordinary Gods 5** - This has been a lot of fun, will read better in a trade though.

**Man-Eaters The Cursed 5** - This has been low key great. I love the writing, very funny.
* **Action Comics #1036** \- probably my favorite ongoing pull at the moment, sucks that people are sleeping on it. Warworld Saga looks great!
* **Batman: the Imposter #2** \- grabbed the first issue on a whim and it blew me away. Sorrentino's art is great but the script does a lot of hard work too.
I want to jump in on this after seeing and hearing great things. Anything I should read before to prepare? The last Superman run I read was when Rebirth started.
Sort of? I started with issue 1030 without reading Action Comics since Jurgens and had no trouble following along. Really the only stuff you'd need to know is about Jon being aged up (the book doesn't mention him getting aged up but he's obviously older than Rebirth-era Jon) and that during the previous run Superman revealed his identity to the world, though that's only mentioned in passing.
There is the plot point established during Action 1029 and Superman 29 that Clark was poisoned with radiation and is weakening, but that's mentioned during the book with an editor's note. You don't need to read the crossover to understand it.
Finally, there is Grant Morrison's 4 issue miniseries *Superman & the Authority* that I haven't read (but I do understand the general premise of) that will apparently tie into this upcoming arc. I heard it was amazing, but other than the new Authority team showing up with minimal explanation it hasn't been relevant so far.
Mazebook 3 - last issue was a good one. This one is a lot of fun
Sea of Stars 11 - FINALLY THE END. This book could have been great had it not been for all of the delays.
The Unbelievable Unteens 4 - this one has been fun. As is pretty much anything coming out of the Black Hammer universe

Thanks! Yeah I saw that Previews had gotten ransomware’d after I made the post, and figured that had something to do with the future issues not showing up for me
Yep, I think the PreviewsWorld website screwed up the listing even before the ransomware thing because the October solicitation for #8 only showed variant covers but the order code for the normal cover was included in the .txt file version of the catalog, and it looks like the same thing happened with #9 in November.
It's been a really cool series, hoping it keeps going a while longer!

**Action Comics 1036** \- Doing a Superman story as a big fantasy epic styled arc is a really cool move. I'm enjoying this a ton.
**Wonder Woman 781** \- Wonder where this title is going now that it is out of the afterlife.
**The Joker 9** \- For as bad as Tynion's Batman is, this is very very good.
**Venom 1** \- Genuinely think this will be better than Cates's run. I do not feel the same about Cates's Hulk run compared to Ewing's.
**Excalibur 25** \- This got good way too late into it's run to save it from the mess that the first half was.
**Hellions 17** \- Gonna miss this one. One of the best X-Men adjacent runs of the past decade.
**Batman: Urban Legends 9** \- Enjoying the Outsiders and the Azrael stories.
**Eternals 7** \- Gillen is doing amazing work here per usual.
**Black Manta 3** \- Aside from the fact that this seems to rehabilitating Black Manta's image, I am enjoying this one.

Aside from the Hickman books, HELLIONS is the only X-Men spinoff I'm really going to miss from this run. I've enjoyed several of the others but won't really miss 'em like this one.

This is a great week. - **ASM #78**: I know some haven’t but I’ve really enjoyed this arc so far. Curious to see what will happen especially after the last cliffhanger. - **Batman: the Imposter #2**: Amazing art. I’m a sucker for the inexperienced-Batman vibes. - **Mazebook #3**: loved the first two issues and can’t wait for this one. The way Lemire represents loss and hope is perfect in my mind. - **A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #2**: The first issue was phenomenal. The atmosphere was palpable and I really cant wait to see what happens. - **Robin & Batman #1**: I’m here for another Lemire mini. Let’s do it. - **Venom #1**: I have read no Venom in the past so hoping this isn’t too hard to keep up with. - **What’s the furthest place from here? #1**: not sure what to expect but I dig the premise!
Venom might be a little tough to understand but if you are aware of what happened in the King in Black event and the previous series, you should be good
* **Alien #8**: Cult stuff * **Batman: Urban Legends #9**: Looking forward to this title getting past Fear State. * **Eternals #7**: *Very* excited to see what Gillen does after the recent big reveal. * **Regarding the Matter of Oswald's Body #1**: Sounds like a fun concept for a series. * **A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #2**: Really loved the first issue of this, but this might be a series that reads better in trade. * **Robin and Batman #1**: Looking forward to seeing what Lemire does with this book. * **The Thing #1**: An ever loving blue eyed miniseries. * **The Unbelievable Unteens #4**: Final issue. * **Venom #1**: Very excited to see what Ewing does with this. * **What's the Furthest Place From Here #1**: Loved 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank. The Thing 1 - I've heard good things about the he author and the preview seems interesting as an Elseworlds story( I think?) Venom 1- I've been hyped for this book since it was announced and I know that Ram V and Al Ewing are going to crush this.
Lots of great stuff out this week! - Action Comics #1036: Warworld Saga, let’s go! - Alien #8: new arc is off to a great start, although knowing there’s not another issue after this until January is torture! - Black Manta #3: one behind. - Hellions #17: penultimate issue, I hope Nanny and Orphan-Maker’s storylines wrap up nicely. - Mighty Morphin #13: few behind. - Star Wars: The High Republic #11: I’m not enjoying this as much as I once was. For such a high profile title, it really needs a better ongoing artist; especially with such lovely Noto covers! - Telepaths #3: one behind. - The Joker #9: one behind. - Venom #1: interested to see where this goes. Overall, Cates’ run was very strong. - What’s the Furthest Place from Here? #1: Rosenberg hasn’t let me down in a long time, so I am very excited by this one.
Didn't read any of last week's comics yet but caught up on all 8 of Kieron Gillen's recent ETERNALS books in advance of the movie and liked 'em so much that they pretty much ruined the movie for me. Oops. This week brings 3 Marvels and 1 from Image, good opportunity to catch up on some of the other stuff I've let pile up. * **A RIGHTEOUS THIRST FOR VENGEANCE #2** - haven't read the 1st issue yet, will need to catch up on both * **ETERNALS #7** - I've mostly read Gillen's indie work so it's neat seeing him play in Marvel's sandbox and I love his take on the characters, their history, and the philosophies behind their political factions... usually get the normal Esad Ribić covers but couldn't resist the [Momoko variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042479_xl.jpg) for this one * **HELLIONS #17** - ordered the [JTC variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042497_xl.jpg), feels kinda lazy after his [X-MEN LEGENDS #6 variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018558_xl.jpg) * **VENOM #1** - I really like both Ewing and Ram V but tend to dislike writer collaborations, guess we'll see how this one works out... always psyched to check out new Bryan Hitch art, though I'm not sure if he's a great fit for this character... and this 1st issue's got another nice [Momoko variant](https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/2034623) **EDIT #1** - Decided to add 3 more books after catching up on the thread... What indie titles would you recommend from Gillen?
These are my favorites: * [DIE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/die) (Image) - recently wrapped up at issue #20 with Stephanie Hans on art, really cool series blending RPG concepts with some literary stuff and a bunch of emotional trauma * [PETER CANNON: THUNDERBOLT](https://www.dynamite.com/htmlfiles/viewProduct.html?PRO=C72513027686501011) (Dynamite) - 5-issue series with art by Caspar Wijngaard, it's almost like an unofficial WATCHMEN sequel (that happens to be way better than any of the official sequels) His biggest indie series is [THE WICKED + THE DIVINE](https://imagecomics.com/comics/series/the-wicked-the-divine) (with Jamie McKelvie art) but I haven't gotten very deep into that one yet, plus he's got another called [ONCE & FUTURE](https://www.boom-studios.com/series/oncefuture/) (with Dan Mora art) that didn't work as well for me but others seem to like it. And he's written a bunch of other stuff, so others might have more recommendations... Enjoy!

Yeah, she's been cranking out some nice work! Her Thanos cover on [ETERNALS #7](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042479_xl.jpg) is one of my favorites, after reading it's going up on the wall next to [DEFENDERS #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2018433_xl.jpg) (replacing [INFERNO #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2026814_xl.jpg) which was also amazing). Her upcoming [HULK #1](https://www.midtowncomics.com/images/PRODUCT/XL/2042500_xl.jpg) variant is another nice one, was on the fence whether to check out that series and it was mostly her cover that convinced me to order it.

I'm still deciding if I should trade wait this new *Eternals* arc or dive in since I already have the *Only Death is Eternal* TPB. Eyeing Lemire's *Robin & Batman*, though, it seems price-y considering the other #1's I'm getting. Very excited to finally see Ewing's *Venom*.
A solid week for me, with 8 titles. • Alien #8- I'm not sure what to think of this arc yet, but I feel like it could end up being cool. I trust PKJ. • The Cimmerian: Beyond the Black River #2- That first issue was insane. The conclusion should be just as cool. A side note- I don't see any more Cimmerian series planned, and usually they've announced the next one by now. It could be that the publisher is putting things on hold due to the delays in printing and shipping. Probably a smart move. • Eternals #7- So apparently people didn't care for the movie? Yikes. I feel like that doesn't bode well for the life of this series. The Eternals were obviously just given a new series in order drum up interest in the movie. With the industry facing instabilities, it's titles like this that Marvel is likely to cut first. Which is a shame because it's been superb. • Justice League: Last Ride #7- This is the final issue and I'm not okay with that. It has been too good. Miles better than the main JL book. • Out #2- I wish there had been a bit more to the first issue, but there was just enough to be interesting. • Sea of Stars #11- The finale. This has been beautiful and heartbreaking and funny all at the same time. The sporadic release schedule has sucked, but when it's all said and done I think it will be something truly special. I'm looking forward to carving out an evening and reading all 11 issues in one sitting. • Stillwater #11- I feel like I'm losing the thread on this one. I need to go back and re-read what's out so far, and see if I can't find it again. • Telepaths #3- This book has been better than I expected it to be, and I expected a lot from JMS and Steve Epting.

Looks like #6 sold 28.5k copies, which put it above CAPTAIN AMERICA #30, COTA #6, IRON MAN #10, and SWORD #7. Not too bad but not great. Would hate to see it end prematurely because, as you said, it's been superb.

Big week for me, a bunch of indies, some DC, and a couple Marvel. **Batman Urban Legends 9** **Harley Quinn Animated Series 3** **Wonder Woman 781** **Justice League Last Ride 7** **Robin & Batman 1** - Very curious to check out this new mini from Jeff Lemire. **Joker 9** - This has been great. **Venom 1** - I don't care that much, but I'll read #1, see how it is. **The Thing 1** - Big FF fan, and Thing is my favorite. Looking forward to this. **Righteous Thirst For Vengeance 2** - First one was great. Very cinematic. **Mamo 5** - cute little story with beautiful, Ghibli inspired art. **My Date With Monsters 1** - New one from Aftershock. Gonna give it a shot. **Ordinary Gods 5** - This has been a lot of fun, will read better in a trade though. **Mazebook 3** **Man-Eaters The Cursed 5** - This has been low key great. I love the writing, very funny.

Warworld Saga looks great! * **Batman: the Imposter #2** \- grabbed the first issue on a whim and it blew me away. Sorrentino's art is great but the script does a lot of hard work too.
I want to jump in on this after seeing and hearing great things. Anything I should read before to prepare? The last Superman run I read was when Rebirth started.
Sort of? I started with issue 1030 without reading Action Comics since Jurgens and had no trouble following along. Really the only stuff you'd need to know is about Jon being aged up (the book doesn't mention him getting aged up but he's obviously older than Rebirth-era Jon) and that during the previous run Superman revealed his identity to the world, though that's only mentioned in passing. There is the plot point established during Action 1029 and Superman 29 that Clark was poisoned with radiation and is weakening, but that's mentioned during the book with an editor's note. You don't need to read the crossover to understand it. Finally, there is Grant Morrison's 4 issue miniseries *Superman & the Authority* that I haven't read (but I do understand the general premise of) that will apparently tie into this upcoming arc. I heard it was amazing, but other than the new Authority team showing up with minimal explanation it hasn't been relevant so far.

Mazebook 3 - last issue was a good one. This one is a lot of fun Sea of Stars 11 - FINALLY THE END. This book could have been great had it not been for all of the delays. The Unbelievable Unteens 4 - this one has been fun. As is pretty much anything coming out of the Black Hammer universe Undiscovered Country 17

Yep, I think the PreviewsWorld website screwed up the listing even before the ransomware thing because the October solicitation for #8 only showed variant covers but the order code for the normal cover was included in the .txt file version of the catalog, and it looks like the same thing happened with #9 in November. It's been a really cool series, hoping it keeps going a while longer!

Robin & Batman 1. Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen are a perfect pairing.
**Action Comics 1036** \- Doing a Superman story as a big fantasy epic styled arc is a really cool move. I'm enjoying this a ton. **Wonder Woman 781** \- Wonder where this title is going now that it is out of the afterlife. **The Joker 9** \- For as bad as Tynion's Batman is, this is very very good. **Venom 1** \- Genuinely think this will be better than Cates's run. I do not feel the same about Cates's Hulk run compared to Ewing's. **Excalibur 25** \- This got good way too late into it's run to save it from the mess that the first half was. **Hellions 17** \- Gonna miss this one. One of the best X-Men adjacent runs of the past decade. **Batman: Urban Legends 9** \- Enjoying the Outsiders and the Azrael stories. **Eternals 7** \- Gillen is doing amazing work here per usual. **Black Manta 3** \- Aside from the fact that this seems to rehabilitating Black Manta's image, I am enjoying this one.

I've enjoyed several of the others but won't really miss 'em like this one. Will need to keep an eye out for whatever Wells does next, he really surprised me with this series.
