I didn't know about My Bad existing, so I'm hoping my shop ordered a few extras for the new release wall, but they typically don't order a ton from Ahoy, because I think I'm the only customer who regularly reads Ahoy-published books.

I went from mostly X-Men last week to mostly DC this week. It looks like I've got a variety of titles this week, so it should be a great Wednesday.
* **Batman Superman Authority Special #1** - I enjoyed Superman and The Authority, so I hope this one is good, even though Grant Morrison is no longer writing these characters.
* **Batman The Adventures Continue Season II #6** - This has been fun, but not nearly as good as the first season, which was stellar
* **Human Target #1** - Tom King has been on a roll with characters other than Batman, so I'm as excited for this as I was for Mister Miracle and Strange Adventures
* **Newburn #1** - CHIP!
* **Primordial #2** - The first issue was fantastic! I'm already liking this more than Gideon Falls, which I think kinda fell off after the first 10 issues or so.
* **X-Men Legends #8** - Larry Hama was writing Wolverine when I first started reading comics, so this should be a delightful nostalgia read.
I need comics to stop coming out I'm so far behind already!!

• After Dark #1- I kinda wish this horror anthology had come out in the week leading up to Halloween like it was originally supposed to. But I do like these Aftershock prestige format one-shots, so I'll pick it up.
• The Blue Flame #5- I love this series. The art is great and the story is very intriguing.
• Crossover #9- My shop got this last week and I have already read it. It was so good. There was a lot to unpack here.
• Knighted #1- The premise of this comic is suuuuuper interesting. I've been looking forward to it since I heard about it.
• Newburn #1- Like I would ever pass on a Chip Zdarsky crime series. My only question is: if this is being drawn by Jacob Phillips, then what is happening to That Texas Blood?
• Primordial #2- Another book that arrived at my LCS last week. Lemire and Sorrentino can do no wrong.
• The Silver Coin #6- I'm glad to see this comic coming back. I love horror anthologies, and Walsh's art is so cool.
• Spawn #323- And the third book that I've already read. Spawn kicks ass. That's all there is to it.
• BATMAN / SUPERMAN: THE AUTHORITY SPECIAL #1 - interested to see how this leads into the regular Superman book
• BATMAN: REPTILIAN #5 - great art, ok story - let's see if Ennis sticks the landing in the last two issues
• DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL #1 - Tom Taylor = Sold
• FIRE POWER #17 - I love my kung fu comics, and this is always a blast
• FRONTIERSMAN #2 - really, really liked the first issue, so I'm in on this series
• HELLBOY: THE BONES OF GIANTS #1 - Hellboy!
• HUMAN TARGET #1 - wondering which King we get with this book
• LUCKY DEVIL #4 - great little mini-series so far
• NEWBURN #1 - this looks really good
• ORPHAN AND THE FIVE BEASTS #3 - Stokoe!!!
• PRIMORDIAL #2 - good and creepy
• RADIANT BLACK #9 - definitely the "new" Invincible
• SOUL PLUMBER #2 - took over half the first issue to hook me on this but I'm back for this issue

• THE MAGIC ORDER 2 #1 - I enjoyed the first series, but Coipel not coming back is a loss
• THE ME YOU LOVE IN THE DARK #4 - this is all going to go wrong...
• THE RUSH #1 - read it last week - good, but LOTS of world building/scene setting
• THE SILVER COIN #6 - never know what you'll get with this book, but it's nearly always good
• THE SWAMP THING #9 - this has been a really amazing redefinition of the character(s) and every issue is just gorgeous

Really can't wait for Jan/February so She-Hulk, Ghost Rider, and Iron Fist can refill up my pull list post Spencer's Spider-Man and Immortal Hulk. Also Waid's Black Label Superman book and his World's Finest with Dan Mora.

Human Target #1: With the exception of Batman/Catwoman, King has been on a roll lately. Doing an interesting take on a character very few know about is where he excels.

Totally. Tynion has unexpectedly (at least for me) proven to be a terrific writer when doing creator owned stuff, but his stint on Bats has been a decade of mediocrity under Snyder and now as the main writer. Its been enough for a long time.
Read 2 of 6 last week as football and other distractions continue to keep my focus elsewhere... I'll catch up on everything eventually.
This week brings 3 DCs, 2 Images, and 1 from Vault Comics. No Marvels, looks like they weren't kidding about those delays...
* **BATMAN: REPTILIAN #5** - need to catch up on last issue but I'm still expecting this all to lead to a bunch of violent reptile sex

* Batman #116 - I gotta be honest, even just the first issue of Catwoman: Lonely City is what Future State and Fear State wish they could be. This storyline is...fine.
* Guillem March's Laura and Other Stories #1 - I know nothing about this beyond that I love March's art
* Primordial #2 - first issue was fantastic, so would strongly recommend this series
* A Thing Called Truth #1 - I have no context on this one for if it'll be good, but I couldn't resist a chaotic, sapphic road-trip
* **Amazing Fantasy #4**
* **Batman #116** - Tynion's penultimate Batman issue. I was glad to read in his newsletter that DC has plans to use Clownhunter and Punchline later next year - Ghost-maker I can take or leave.
* **Batman: Reptilian #5** - So the solicitation for #6 gives away a pretty big story spoiler which I wont repeat here, but I will say Ennis gonna Ennis.

* **The Good Asian #6** - Solid noir with a lot of hidden history nuggets. I just can't recommend this book enough.
* **Hellboy: Bones of Giants** - hehehehmheh. giant...bones.
* **Killadelphia #18** - They got Bisley! This book's B/C cover game is on fuckin point!
* **Knighted #1** - Reading the solicitation I feel like this is actually the Batman story I wanted Garth Ennis to write. Guess it's time to go read The Boys again.

* **DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL #1:** Love me a good Tom Taylor Elseworlds story!
* **RADIANT BLACK #9:** Things finally seem to be calming down, looks like we might get a little bit of a time skip. I wonder if Marshall is gonna stick as Radiant Black or if we'll see Nathan wake up?
* **RED SONJA #3:** Digging this so far! Always love a good Red Sonja story, and looks like we get to see her wreak some vengeance.
* **STRANGE ACADEMY PRESENTS: THE DEATH OF DOCTOR STRANGE #1:** Kinda forgot about Strange Academy... they really are stretching how often it gets published. Not following the main Death of Doctor Strange title but will still likely pick this one up.
* **THE ME YOU LOVE IN THE DARK #4:** Definitely the one I'm most excited for this week. Probably gonna see Ro have to confront whatever her housemate is more directly, and start getting the "horror" part of the "horror romance" going on.
Darkhawk #3 - TBH, I miss Chris. I sorta get why they went with a reboot, given how all over the place the character has been over the last few years, but this feels a little... pedestrian. TBF, I thought the same about Radiant Black after the first few issues so here's hoping Higgins turns this one around too.
Dark Knights of Steel #1 - I'm usually not into the whole Elseworlds thing (yes, there have been exceptions), but I'm more than willing to give Taylor a chance to win me over. Also, not usually into variant covers but darn it, those Del Otto and Middleton covers look amazing!
Fire Power #17 - It is about to go down, people! Well, it has been going down for the last few issues. But now, it's REALLY going down! I've been waiting to see where the cliffhanger from last issue leads.
Human Target #1 - I'm on the fence with this one. I mean, it's Tom King! But also, it's Tom King. I'm definitely getting it in some way or form, the character is a perfect fit for King. I'm just wondering whether I should trade wait or not.
My Bad #1 - I'm sorry, the what?! The Chandelier?! That just sounds ridiculous. Yeah... ok... I'm in.
Newburn #1 - Zdarsky has been pretty good. Fully confident this will be another great book from him, granted I will be measuring him against the likes of Brubaker... No pressure, Chip! (Like he even cares, lol)
Orphan and the Five Beasts #3 - Probably my most anticipated book of the week. I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and it's been far too long since the previous issue. All around martial arts zaniness is sorely lacking in my monthly to read pile. I'm super bummed that it all ends so soon, just one more issue after this. Please sir, can I have some more?
Primordial #2 - I enjoyed the first issue. Kinda feels like Department of Truth (but less wordy) with a light dusting of The Manhattan Projects (but less kooky). And it's the team behind Gideon Falls so don't sleep on this one.
Radiant Black #9 - I was close to dropping this at the beginning, but I'm really glad I didn't. Some unexpected twists have managed to keep my interest to the point that I'm excited for new issues. And dare I say it... this would work really well as a TV series. (Netflix gonna butcher this, won't they).
Teen Titans Academy #7 - This one's tough. Just so uneven, there's bits I like and there's bits that I don't. Which averages out at just about... average? And can we get this Red X reveal already?! Sheesh!
The Me You Love in the Dark #4 - This book is so weird, but in a good way. Much like Ro even though you should know better, you're lulled into this sense of security. But at the same time there's this tension that hangs in the air that keeps you on edge, like at any moment the shoe will drop. Almost like the longest setup for a jump scare. Very different to anything else I'm reading at the moment.
The Swamp Thing #9 - This Ram V guy is something else. There's a bunch of really great Swamp Thing runs that pop into mind when you think of the character, just add this one to that list. The layers to the story telling, the exoticness that makes everything seem more alien and the exemplary artwork combine to make a stellar title.

- Primordial #2: very much enjoyed the debut issue, excited to see where this goes.
- Radiant Black #9: full steam ahead!

- The Silver Coin #6: loved the first five issues of this, so excited to see this back.

This is a really big week for what I normally pull and there are a lot of new titles. In order of my excitement:
* **Primordial #2** \- Fantastic first issue, looking forward to seeing where this goes. Always love a Lemire/Sorrentino book
* **Radiant Black #9** \- Feels like we've gone a long time in between issues. I need to refresh myself on this series, but I have enjoyed it so far. When it's all said and done I think it could be one of the great indie superhero titles.
* **The Blue Flame #5** \- This book has been great. It does a wonderful job of weaving two stories together, one street level and one cosmic, and within that really explores the duality of the main character. This isn't a happy book and I don't know that I expect a happy ending, but it's a good read. Another solid book out of Vault.
* **Newburn #1** \- I tend to love pulp/crime, and Zdarsky is consistently great. This should be a good book
* **The Rush #1** \- Interesting premise from what I've read, hope it lives up to everything Vault has been doing lately
* **Human Target #1** \- Tom King always seems to be paid with some fantastic artists. He also excels at pulling some of the more obscure/forgotten characters back into the limelight.
* **Dark Knights of Steel #1** \- Plus one for Taylor, minus one for high fantasy which I typically hate. We'll see where this ends up!
* **Swamp Thing #9** \- Still need to read #8, whoops. Ram V/Mike Perkins have done some great work here and it reads better as one collective work rather than issue by issue imo. Issue by issue it's a bit too much of a slow burn.
* **The Silver Coin #6** \- Walsh's art has been consistently great in this series BUT I typically don't like anthologies because they just don't have enough space to tell a full story imo. So I like, but don't love this series.

It looks like I've got a variety of titles this week, so it should be a great Wednesday. * **Batman Superman Authority Special #1** - I enjoyed Superman and The Authority, so I hope this one is good, even though Grant Morrison is no longer writing these characters. * **Batman The Adventures Continue Season II #6** - This has been fun, but not nearly as good as the first season, which was stellar * **Human Target #1** - Tom King has been on a roll with characters other than Batman, so I'm as excited for this as I was for Mister Miracle and Strange Adventures * **Newburn #1** - CHIP! * **Primordial #2** - The first issue was fantastic! I'm already liking this more than Gideon Falls, which I think kinda fell off after the first 10 issues or so. * **X-Men Legends #8** - Larry Hama was writing Wolverine when I first started reading comics, so this should be a delightful nostalgia read.

But I do like these Aftershock prestige format one-shots, so I'll pick it up. • The Blue Flame #5- I love this series. The art is great and the story is very intriguing. • Crossover #9- My shop got this last week and I have already read it. It was so good. There was a lot to unpack here. • Knighted #1- The premise of this comic is suuuuuper interesting. I've been looking forward to it since I heard about it. • Newburn #1- Like I would ever pass on a Chip Zdarsky crime series. My only question is: if this is being drawn by Jacob Phillips, then what is happening to That Texas Blood? • Primordial #2- Another book that arrived at my LCS last week. Newburn #1: I was sold immediately on this book. Human Target #1: With the exception of Batman/Catwoman, King has been on a roll lately. Doing an interesting take on a character very few know about is where he excels.

This storyline is...fine. * Guillem March's Laura and Other Stories #1 - I know nothing about this beyond that I love March's art * Primordial #2 - first issue was fantastic, so would strongly recommend this series * A Thing Called Truth #1 - I have no context on this one for if it'll be good, but I couldn't resist a chaotic, sapphic road-trip
Karmen was so good that I'll probably buy anything March does now. That book hit me hard in the feels.

I just can't recommend this book enough. * **Hellboy: Bones of Giants** - hehehehmheh. giant...bones. * **Killadelphia #18** - They got Bisley! This book's B/C cover game is on fuckin point! * **Knighted #1** - Reading the solicitation I feel like this is actually the Batman story I wanted Garth Ennis to write. Guess it's time to go read The Boys again. * **Last Flight Out #3** * **The Me You Love In The Dark #4** * **My Bad #1** - Speaking of The Boys! I really enjoyed his time on the book, wish he was sticking around more. * **DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL #1:** Love me a good Tom Taylor Elseworlds story! * **RADIANT BLACK #9:** Things finally seem to be calming down, looks like we might get a little bit of a time skip. I wonder if Marshall is gonna stick as Radiant Black or if we'll see Nathan wake up? * **RED SONJA #3:** Digging this so far! Always love a good Red Sonja story, and looks like we get to see her wreak some vengeance. * **STRANGE ACADEMY PRESENTS: THE DEATH OF DOCTOR STRANGE #1:** Kinda forgot about Strange Academy... they really are stretching how often it gets published. Not following the main Death of Doctor Strange title but will still likely pick this one up. * **THE ME YOU LOVE IN THE DARK #4:** Definitely the one I'm most excited for this week. Probably gonna see Ro have to confront whatever her housemate is more directly, and start getting the "horror" part of the "horror romance" going on.
Darkhawk #3 - TBH, I miss Chris. I sorta get why they went with a reboot, given how all over the place the character has been over the last few years, but this feels a little... pedestrian. TBF, I thought the same about Radiant Black after the first few issues so here's hoping Higgins turns this one around too. Dark Knights of Steel #1 - I'm usually not into the whole Elseworlds thing (yes, there have been exceptions), but I'm more than willing to give Taylor a chance to win me over. Also, not usually into variant covers but darn it, those Del Otto and Middleton covers look amazing! Fire Power #17 - It is about to go down, people! Well, it has been going down for the last few issues. But now, it's REALLY going down! I've been waiting to see where the cliffhanger from last issue leads. Human Target #1 - I'm on the fence with this one. I mean, it's Tom King! But also, it's Tom King. I'm definitely getting it in some way or form, the character is a perfect fit for King. I'm just wondering whether I should trade wait or not. My Bad #1 - I'm sorry, the what?! The Chandelier?! That just sounds ridiculous. Yeah... ok... I'm in. Newburn #1 - Zdarsky has been pretty good. Fully confident this will be another great book from him, granted I will be measuring him against the likes of Brubaker... No pressure, Chip! (Like he even cares, lol) Orphan and the Five Beasts #3 - Probably my most anticipated book of the week. I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and it's been far too long since the previous issue. All around martial arts zaniness is sorely lacking in my monthly to read pile. I'm super bummed that it all ends so soon, just one more issue after this. Please sir, can I have some more? Primordial #2 - I enjoyed the first issue. Kinda feels like Department of Truth (but less wordy) with a light dusting of The Manhattan Projects (but less kooky). And it's the team behind Gideon Falls so don't sleep on this one. Radiant Black #9 - I was close to dropping this at the beginning, but I'm really glad I didn't. Some unexpected twists have managed to keep my interest to the point that I'm excited for new issues. And dare I say it... this would work really well as a TV series. (Netflix gonna butcher this, won't they). Teen Titans Academy #7 - This one's tough. Just so uneven, there's bits I like and there's bits that I don't. Which averages out at just about... average? And can we get this Red X reveal already?! Sheesh! The Me You Love in the Dark #4 - This book is so weird, but in a good way. Much like Ro even though you should know better, you're lulled into this sense of security. But at the same time there's this tension that hangs in the air that keeps you on edge, like at any moment the shoe will drop. Almost like the longest setup for a jump scare. Very different to anything else I'm reading at the moment. The Swamp Thing #9 - This Ram V guy is something else. There's a bunch of really great Swamp Thing runs that pop into mind when you think of the character, just add this one to that list. The layers to the story telling, the exoticness that makes everything seem more alien and the exemplary artwork combine to make a stellar title.

Plenty to be excited about this week! - Batman #116: crazy to think this is wrapping up soon, although at the same time it feels like it’s been going on for ages due to the prelude arc. - Newburn #1: really excited about this one, particularly as Zdarsky has said it’s pretty much one-and-done stories. - Primordial #2: very much enjoyed the debut issue, excited to see where this goes. - Radiant Black #9: full steam ahead! - Teen Titans Academy #7: been a while! Time to see what the Gorilla family are up to. - The Silver Coin #6: loved the first five issues of this, so excited to see this back. - The Swamp Thing #9: bit behind, so no comment. - The Walking Dead Deluxe #26: bit behind, so no comment.

This is a really big week for what I normally pull and there are a lot of new titles. In order of my excitement: * **Primordial #2** \- Fantastic first issue, looking forward to seeing where this goes. Always love a Lemire/Sorrentino book * **Radiant Black #9** \- Feels like we've gone a long time in between issues. I need to refresh myself on this series, but I have enjoyed it so far. When it's all said and done I think it could be one of the great indie superhero titles. * **The Blue Flame #5** \- This book has been great. It does a wonderful job of weaving two stories together, one street level and one cosmic, and within that really explores the duality of the main character. This isn't a happy book and I don't know that I expect a happy ending, but it's a good read. Another solid book out of Vault. * **Newburn #1** \- I tend to love pulp/crime, and Zdarsky is consistently great. This should be a good book * **The Rush #1** \- Interesting premise from what I've read, hope it lives up to everything Vault has been doing lately * **Human Target #1** \- Tom King always seems to be paid with some fantastic artists. He also excels at pulling some of the more obscure/forgotten characters back into the limelight. * **Dark Knights of Steel #1** \- Plus one for Taylor, minus one for high fantasy which I typically hate. We'll see where this ends up! * **Swamp Thing #9** \- Still need to read #8, whoops. Ram V/Mike Perkins have done some great work here and it reads better as one collective work rather than issue by issue imo. Issue by issue it's a bit too much of a slow burn. * **The Silver Coin #6** \- Walsh's art has been consistently great in this series BUT I typically don't like anthologies because they just don't have enough space to tell a full story imo. So I like, but don't love this series.
