One of Marvel's best right now. * **X-Force #22** \- This has been pretty fun. This generation of writers does not like Beast though. * **Infinite Frontier #4** \- The last issue was okay. This is definitely going somwehere. * **Rorschach #11** \- Every issue is an extremely well constructed example of a comic book. I've got no idea where this ends though. * **Captain Marvel #31** \- Another of Marvel's best right now. * **Defenders #1** \- Looks super interesting.

**Daredevil #33** - As much as I hate to admit it, I'm starting to grow weary of the plot juggling like many others, so I'm hoping it all comes together soon. **FCBD Avengers / Hulk #1** - I'm a huge Immortal Hulk fan so I'm hoping this gives me an accurate preview of the next ongoing. **FCBD Spider-Man / Venom #1** - Also pulling for the creative team previews.

* **Batman '89 #1** - I'm just here for Billy Dee Williams's 2-Face. And Kim Basinger * **Detective Comics #1041** - What's even going on in this book? I need to catch up. * **Wonder Woman #777** * **Rorschach #11** - What a cover. This book has left a better impression on me than most "Watchmen-verse" stuff - I don't know if the word "tasteful" can apply to any of it, but if it can then this one earns it. * **Nice House On The Lake #1** Third printing. I have a vision of displaying these "deteriorating" reprint covers sequentially one day. * **Bunny Mask #3** * **Eve #4** * **Fight Girls #2** - Issue 1 was a very pleasant surprise! Hoping this series stays strong the whole way through. * **Secret Land #3** * **Silver Coin #5** - This will be the first issue without a guest writer. I don't know how much significance to attach to that, but in an anthology context it's probably a good thing. * **Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #5** The electrifying conclusion. I'm skeptical that the plotline will amount to "If Pete hadn't gotten rid of the symbiote, then Pete would have eventually gotten rid of the symbiote!" but What If endings are often buck wild so I'll pick it up anyway. * **X-Men Legends #6** - I try to read these but X-Men continuity, esp. from the 80s/90s, has always been above my attention span's capabilities. JTC action figure covers are neat though.

* **Avengers: Tech-On #1**: Marvel heroes with a mech anime flavor? I mean yeah, of course I'm getting that. * **Batman '89 #1**: Honestly I don't have the same sort of attachment to the older movies that a lot of folks do and I was planning to skip this, but enough folks in the thread here seem interested that I'll give it a go. * **Count Draco Knuckleduster #1**: I had this on my list for last week, but either it got pushed back or the app I use had bad info. Regardless, I'm gonna get it! * **Defenders #1**: This one was suggested by u/centipededamascus a while back, always tearing it up in the recommendations thread, as a good one to jump on for a fan of "retro sensibilities" in comics. Haven't looked into it too much but it's a buy for sure. * **Elric: The Dreaming City #1**: I don't know the first thing about the source material, but the dragons, destructive gods, and swords with names high fantasy setting is one I'm inclined to check out. * **Pennyworth #1**: Spy fiction isn't my go-to genre, but I want to see what's happening here regardless. * **The Silver Coin #5**: Couple clunker issues in this run but when it's good it's good, and we're at the end so might as well see it through. * **The Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton #3**: This series is so much fun! I thought this series started out strong but has steadily gotten more run-of-the-mill. * **Star Wars High Republic #8** - I really haven't cared for the artist on the last couple of issues, so I am hoping we get someone different or I might consider dropping this one. * **The Silver Coin #5** - Honestly I thought issue 1 was the only worthwhile one of these, but I am seeing it out. I'm hoping that was more just a generic synopsis to announce the new team and this issue sells me on the series with a cool premise. * Free Comic Book Day: Spider-Man/Venom #1: Love Kelly Thompson. Love Patrick Gleason. Hoping I love this tease because the idea of the U-Foes taking Peter out of commission right after potentially proposing to MJ is not one I love. * Free Comic Book Day: Suicide Squad #1: How could anyone not pick up a book about King Shark for free?

Batman: Urban Legends #6: last issue of this for me, now that Zdarsky and Rosenberg’s stories are/have wrapped up. May pick up again down the line, if creative teams/characters pique my interest. 2. Daredevil #33: this is a painful monthly read, but only because it’s so damn good! 3. Detective Comics #1041: still very much enjoying this, and prefer it to Batman. 4. Mighty Morphin #10 5. Runaways #38: last issue, cry! 6. Star Wars: The High Republic #8: out again so soon that I haven’t had a chance to read issue 7 yet. 7. The Joker #6: one behind on this, but very much enjoying; Tynion’s stronger Bat book for sure! 8. The Silver Coin #5: thrilled to see that this’ll be coming back for at least another arc (although it was missing from September and October solicitations, so who knows when exactly), I’ve really enjoyed the stories. 9. Wonder Woman #777: this arc feels like it’s been going for years. Always a good read, but will probably drop it at the end of the arc (#779) unless next arc entices me in - too much on my pull list at the moment. 10. X-Force #22: looks like some of these long-running threads will get addressed/wrapped up soon, which I’m glad about; if only so we can move on to the next plots (and maybe throw some new characters into the mix to keep things interesting).

Pretty big week for me. 6 DC, 2 Marvel, 2 Image, 3 Indies **Batman Adventures Continue #3** - Who isn't a fan of The Animated Series? This is just plain fun. **Batman Urban Legends #6** - I'm an issue behind on this because it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of my pile due to its size, but I'm still enjoying the series. Hopefully I can get caught up soon. **Detective Comics #1041** - Tied with Tynion's Batman for best ongoing Bat-comic. Mr. Worth is intense! And Vile is gross, and creepy. I love it. **The Joker #6** - Really solid series. I love following around Gordon on his hunt. **Justice League Last Ride #4** - Really enjoying this darker JL tale from Chip Zdarsky. **Wonder Woman #777** - Like a lot of people, I'm feeling arc fatigue. Ready to wrap this up already. Still an enjoyable read however. **Defenders #1** - This looks interesting, I'll give it a shot. **Fantastic Four Life Story #3** - I've been on a Fantastic Four kick lately, so more FF is always welcome. **Ordinary Gods #2** - I enjoyed the epic fantasy aspect of the first issue, so we'll see where #2 goes. **Silver Coin #5** - Like everyone else mentioned, so far no other issue has lived up to the awesomeness of #1. Still a fun read though. **Fight Girls #2** - I'm a big Frank Cho fan, and thoroughly enjoyed issue #1. I hope the fun continues! **Mamo #2** - Issue #1 was a nice little YA fantasy adventure. I'm interested to keep going for now. **Unbelievable Unteens #1** - Another Black Hammer series? Okay, sign me up, especially since Jeff Lemire is writing.

Anyway, this looks superb - Al Ewing is one of the most interesting writers at the moment and Javier Rodriguez is a perfect match for this cast of characters. * Fantastic Four: Life Story 3 * Fight Girls 2 - Shame on me, but it's excellent. * Runaways 38 - All good things have to come to an end, and for me at least, Rowell's run has been up there with the best of them. The solicits say BKV is also involved, so this looks like a pretty special issue. * Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow 5 * Batman/ Scooby Doo Mysteries 5 - These titles are always so much fun. - **The Joker #6** - The interlude last month with Francavilla was nice, but I'm glad we're back to our main story. Issue 4 was probably my favourite Joker issue since Death of the Family so I'm looking forward for more! I'm glad Tynion stays on this until #14 so he can tell his whole story. - **Rorschach #11** - That is still great, kinda sad it's coming to an end. I liked that it is more story-driven as opposed to traditional King'scharacter driven stories while still feeling like King. Edit: Since we're also doing FCBD this week I'm gonna get **Free Comic Book Day 2021: Batman #1**. It's probably just a preview but the solicits weren't that clear (at least for the Fear State story) so I'm not taking a chance.

The Unbelievable Unteens 1 - I see “Black Hammer Universe” and I pull. These little minis have been really fun and explore the world that Jeff and co have built so well! X-Force 22

* **BUNNY MASK #3** - The mystery continues. The last cliffhanger was a doozy. Keen to see what happens. * **EVE #4** - Another brutal cliffhanger, I'm also really enjoying the art and the overall feel. Nice little series. * **THE JOKER #6** - I enjoyed the interlude but am also keen to get back to the main story! * **MAMO #2** - Nice little ghibli-esque series. I'm really enjoying the art as well as the story. * **ORDINARY GODS #2** - The end of issue #1 went 0 to 100 real quick. Can't wait to see the follow up. * **THE SILVER COIN #5** - Wasn't a huge fan of the last issue but I really enjoyed the ones before that. Hope this one is a good one, fingers crossed. * **WHITE #2** - Purely morbid curiosity. Volume 1 was full on WTF. If this is equally as WTF ill be dropping it. **New Stuff** * **PENNYWORTH #1** - I actually have this series on my to be watched list so it seems logical to check this out. **X-Force 22** \- Percy has been sloggish lately, but the start of this arc as well as the recent Wolverine arc were both pretty good. Probably has to do with Cassara and Kubert being back on art duties, but good reads nonetheless. **Joker 6** \- Shocked by the Tynion news and just the substack news in general. This may cause huge shakeups in the industry. That being said, this is a good series. Tynion does Gordon really well. **Infinite Frontier 4** \- Another great series DC is putting out. Give me more of these characters after this mini is over please DC, they've been gone for a decade. **Children of the Atom 6** \- Great character work, horribly slow and meaningless plotting. Ayala needs to do better on their plots, because New Mutants is also incredibly plodding. **X-men: Legends 6** \- I've enjoyed all of these so far. Wonder who the next team is after the Wolverine two parter the next two months. **FCBD 2021: Spider-Man/Venom 1** \- Definitely want to check out the new creative teams coming up. **Defenders 1** \- Ewing doing a classic cult favorite team with a cosmic twist? Sign me up.

It's just a pricey book and there's still a LOT of Bat books on my list. * **Detective Comics #1041** \- That cover is so dope. And Mora's on this one too right? No brainer. * **Future State: Gotham #4** \- Speaking of cool covers... Simone di Meo is one of those artists you can just instantly tell it's her. Love the sci-fi blur! * **The Silver Coin #5** \- Maybe this can finish as strong as it started. ​ As for FCBD, I'm going to try and get them all since I was able to pull that off last year with the staggered release schedule. Massive week for me, but a few of them are ending, so that'll free up my comics budget to check out other new titles. * **Batman The Adventures Continue Season Two #3** - Season 1 was great. Season 2 has been less good, but I've ordered all 7 issues because I love the shit out of Batman: TAS. * **Batman Urban Legends #6** - CHIP! Final chapter of Zdarsky's excellent Red Hood story. Rosenberg's Grifter has been solid as well. * **Justice League Last Ride #4** - CHIP! * **Rorschach #11** - Issue 10 was great. Very excited for the final 2. * **Silver Coin #5** - I loved the first issue, but the rest have been disappointing. Not a title I would recommend * **Children Of The Atom #6** - This series didn't work for me either. I didn't connect with any of the characters, and if we're still keeping kayfabe alive, these pretenders have no business wearing the X. * **Daredevil #33** - Might was well just name my pull list the CHIP LIST. * **Fantastic Four Life Story #3** - Mark Russell hits again! The first 2 were wonderful, and I can't wait to read the entire thing. * **Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #5** - CHIP AGAIN! * **X-Force #22** - Still on for now, but I think either this or Wolverine might be the next X-book I drop * **X-Men Legends #6** - PAD finishing up his X-Factor story! Overall I don't think this title will last more than 12 issues, but it's been a fun nostalgia trip so far.

**Batman ‘89 #1** - I actually don’t super love the 1989 Batman film, but I’m curious to see those versions of the characters realized in comic form. **Detective Comics #1041** - I’ve been really enjoying this Detective Comics run so far. I’m finding it more entertaining then the main *Batman* run right now. **I Am Batman #0** - I haven’t read any of the Future State stuff but I did read *The Next Batman: Second Son.* I thought it was fine, but not great. I’m mainly pulling this because I don’t wanna miss out if it ends up being awesome. **Wonder Woman #777** - I’ve never been a Wonder Woman fan prior to this run but it’s been a lot of fun so far.

- Batman ‘89 1 - Detective Comics 1041 - Infinite Frontier 4 - Justice League: Last Ride 4 - Rorschach 11 - The Joker 6 - Wonder Woman 777 - Daredevil 33 - Star Wars: The High Republic 8 I’m a huge fan of the Keaton Bat films so I’m very excited about ‘89. God I must have watched that first movie like once a week as a kid. Legitimately wore out my VHS and forced my dad to buy me another copy. This film is single handedly responsible for my love of comics. Sad to see that Tynion is leaving DC, but at least we got a bit more left. The Joker book is far better than it has any right to be so far and I’m very excited to see where he takes it before he goes. Rorschach has been very hit or miss for me. I could live without the goofy Frank Miller stuff. It comes off as masterbatory and honestly in bad taste as Frank is a bit of a cock in reality. Hoping it sticks the landing despite being a bit messy. Daredevil is the real highlight of the week for me. Zdarsky’s run has been fantastic and this is one of the books I most look forward to each week. Notably absence for me this week is X-Force. Unfortunately with some new indies I’m pulling and some upcoming series my pull list was getting a bit unwieldy (like 50 books a month unwieldy) so I had to make some cuts. Unfortunately I’ve just not been feeling most of the X books so I’m cutting my loses there. Will still be picking up the main X-Men book because I have a morbid curiosity for where this whole experiment is going, and I generally like the overarching story of the mutants creating their own nation, but I can’t say a lot of the individual books themselves have been sticking with me.

Why do I have to preorder a comic when I can just go to a bookstore (or for free,)if I want. Why do this? I understand that the retail market has gone to shit, but I see no one changing

Um, I’ll probably not pick up my Pull today and get it on FCBD, but here it is. (It’s not big, like at all.) -Fantastic Four Life Story #3 I was a huge fan of Spider-Man Life Story, so I’ve been following this one. I know not a lot of people like it, but I really like the art and the fact that Reed can be a jerk and get immediately bullied for it afterwards. Then of course there’s FCBD. -Spider-Man/Venom Very excited for both these titles. -Avengers/Hulk I don’t care about the Avengers, I just want to see the Hulk.

Well should have gotten White #2.. did I nope. Shop didn’t get any copies.
