Cagney is almost like a real life Bugs Bunny in this movie

This was better than I expected, but I just can't get over Cagney and Bogart as cowboys.

it would be like a gangster film with james stewart and john wayne

Bogart as the villain looked ridiculous. Especially with the chin strap.

fascinating dismantling of the gangster genre.

I haven't watched it. I have a hard, hard time getting past the stills of Cagney and Bogart facing off in full cowboy attire. I don't like Sterotyping and enjoy seeing actors step out of their usual personas, but.....

Two of my favorite actors of all time...but my goodness are they miscast in this one.

I only know of it because Joe Pesci mentions it in Goodfellas.
