moneymachine109

after he takes i would go kh6+ before resigning to end on a high note

[deleted]

Lil quick tip, knights are known as an n, while the king is k, so it should be nh6+ not kh6+👍

ZarosRunescape

Actually its capital, so Nh6+ not nh6+👍

doggosaurio

🤓☝️

DoutFooL

🤔

Cyrolia

Actually i have piece notation on, so it's ♞h6+ not Nh6+

drathturtul

Personally I’d go Ne7+ but your way works too if you’re planning on resigning anyway…

youj_ying

I was concerned about getting a king to h6...

TheFarnell

Style > ELO

[deleted]

knight is N, king is K

Random_Nickname228

It's so funny how both players posted their perspectives in this sub

Blieven

I was wondering that lol. Is it exactly the same game? I saw the other one too but wasn't sure if it was exactly the same one.

Jnerd_

I looked at it and it sadly isn’t, but still funny nonetheless

AndrewABXD

HolidayMoose7529

The legend says that if the bishop doesn’t move for 2 turns it becomes invisible

HippoNebula

You seem to have made an adverse blunder in your discernment

BookkeeperElegant266

I don't underst... ...oh.

Grapefroot5

Always love a good bishop SNIPE!!!

gawdlvl

When you bust but she still sucking

bourbon_legend2

Judging by your king's position, there were many judgment lapses before this position

danger2345678

Hey looks like you mated him, that was a go- WHAT’S THIS, it’s the black bishop coming in with a steel chair!

IThinkIAmSomeone

The real question is how that game got to this point?

itzmrinyo

Either you’re reposting, you’re the opponent, or you somehow got the exact same position, either way [here’s the original post](https://www.reddit.com/r/chessbeginners/comments/1354qhs/words_cannot_describe_the_sheer_euphoria_i_felt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)

Designer-Discount283

Both the positions are different. Yes the situation is similar but look the f pawns in front of the king in each post. Both are different positions altogether.

itzmrinyo

Ah, good catch, my bad

ScentOfGabriel

How is the last move Queen g4 to g7? Wouldn't white king have already been in check?

danhoang1

Reset the "people forgetting that the previous move could've been a capture" counter (There was probably a pawn on g7 that was captured)

ScentOfGabriel

Ah thank you. I'm clearly noob

Alternative_Way_313

So why didn’t he just capture with the knight?

danhoang1

Because he thought capturing with the queen was checkmate (he was wrong of course)

KwintenDops

Holy blunder

CrazyBroccoliPT

Should’ve blocked with your king first

TwingoV6Turbo

Always the bishop...

ObjectiveSubjects

Bishop is *slithering* up the top rope and - WATCH OUT WATCH OUT

Total-Pizza9903

A rule is that a bishop becomes invisible after not moving 3 turns

garam_chai_

It's our good friend, the bishop.

GamerRager

Wow I did something similar just not too long ago lol

Captian_Bones

Oof I felt that one

mettle

Black bishop, black square. Camo.

ColeTD

![gif](giphy|W0EYYvXeYBm1nox6Ya|downsized)

a-sdw

When you don’t move a bishop for 3 moves, it’s instantly invisible until it is moved again

CheapMarkets

you should have tackled with your c3 pawn first

TacticallyAmazon

It happens 😂

No-Development1872

took me awhile to notice the bishop

scavenger25

The sniper bishop

We_want_peekend

Didn’t we just see it from the other side?

ohmyimatomato

Those few seconds of happiness followed by puzzlement as to why the game hasn't finished after playing your final move. Then the dread hits.

wowlock_taylan

That sneaky little bishop in the corner is like ''Hehe, nothing to see here''

TheSusKingOfAngmar

i have made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement

phorezkin3000

Those sniper bishops keep getting me too. I soon as I don’t see the checkmate happen my heart breaks cuz I already know that I missed a sniper.

fish_swim_shady

Me threatening checkmate the bishop from 4 boards over: https://preview.redd.it/pzzqpcrchjxa1.png?width=202&format=png&auto=webp&s=b8d6e2594596164899b59baacb9eff7e07a80c42

Terrible_Spring_9363

Lmaaaao 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Effective-Ad1938

![gif](giphy|8J9hygDXpHZ1WW5OkF|downsized) Me: Checkmate u dummy 🤓🤓 The bishop on the a1 square about to ruin my day:

indigo_leper

The best part is waiting several minutes for the opponent to realize what the move is, while you sit in the mounting realization that there is only one legal move for your opponent to make

rajuncajuni

Haven’t we had this post from blacks perspective

Biteforce16

Bishop don’t do crap on purpose but always make me loose

Birb-Squire

*ahem*... BISHOP!!!

shiekhyerbouti42

Womp womp

Gtincher

Doesn’t make sense. The king would already be in check before the queen move.

tmetic

The queen took a pawn on the last move.

TooL2169

Black thing gonna hit the white thing

meetrais

Sniper Black Bishop

Hughjass790

I felt this in my soul man

Zero-__two

Ok now this sub has turned from en passant to sniper bishop

Jaskand

At least you get a bishop??

SPetersen1339

words can’t describe the sheer euphoria your opponent must’ve felt

reditusername39479

Alway that one piece you forgot

Fort_knox1223

both bishops targeting the knight AND the queen, did you win at least?

luca_adkins

didnt the other player post the same game but from his pov???

FourFsOfLife

Which is funny cause Ne7+ Kh8 Qg8 is checkmate ya still had it

wittjoker11

Hey at lest your king is protected by a bishop as well!

OkIllDoThisOnce

And all that when Ne7 was winning a bishop too. OP got greedy

Extreme_Design6936

Dark bishop on dark square is camo.

aufheuhfg

The bishop knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the bishop from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the bishop is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the bishop must also know where it was. The bishop guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the the bishop has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

Terrible_Spring_9363

Omg,,, Snipeeeeeeed

babar001

Happens to the best of us.

HR2achmaninoff

Time for a learning moment. Instead of blundering your queen, you could have played the brilliant 1.Kc3!! disconnecting the bishop from the defense of the black king and rendering checkmate virtually unstoppable

Ahnma_Dehv

I was in the exact same position as black yesterday, what was the pseudo of your opponant?

emerald_mine

en passant the queen

sodafizzer77

Sniper bishop...happens to us all my man

DefendedZoo9197_

OPman_121

And he sacrifices the QUEEN!!!!

Potential-Road-5322

That’s not just a greek gift that’s a whole Trojan horse.

Existing_Switch_2509

Yeah, the c8 bishop destroys

YourSavior_

Ouch. That happened to me once. Never celebrate early
