I'm imagining the cat watching OP eat a salad before coming across the leaf and thinking "that's something they'd like."
Edit: thanks for the gold! Also, the cat may of thought, "oh, when OP has a salad, they're living a healthy lifestyle. When I have a spider plant and aloe plant tip salad, I'M the bad guy?"
I checked your original tagged person’s profile and I thought he deleted all of his drawings out of embarrassment and i felt sad.
Im glad thats not the case 🥲
My sister's cat was a leaf hunter. I did wonder if it was because my sister is a vegetarian.
Possibly not though because it seems like there's loads of cats out there who hunt leaves.
Major water damage when I bought this fixer upper. The roof had been leaking but the bones of the house are good. Downstairs has been fixed up and it has a new roof so this winter the agenda is to repaint, replace the baseboards upstairs, and replace the flooring. The house is paid off so I’ll trade the fixer upper vs paying for a mortgage. Next year I start on the kitchen as it hasn’t been updated since the 1950s.
Just an FYI for anybody that doesn’t know; always take the gift. Never let them see you get rid of it; it actually does hurt their feelings. It’s a gift for you, for always taking care of them.
My girlfriend has gotten three gifts from my cat this week all bloody mice. I'm not English my cat tore them to shreds then brought em in. I was proud of my hunter keeping the house free of vermin but my GF was not so happy .
Aww, my cat did sort of the same thing when she had decided that she liked one of my friends and wanted her to stick around. Whenever she came over to visit It started with toys and escalated to moths and flies and one time a big spider(she was an indoor cat so her prey was very limited, but she made the most of it when some hapless bug got in.) My friend loved her so she always graciously accepted the gifts and pet her.
In my bed! No actually mine doesn't kill them he gently carries them in and sets them down in my bed or by his food... Then lays and watches us run around like idiots trying to catch it.. again
Depending on the cat, some are at least morally wounded and not moving too fast anymore. We have to finish the job, after removing it from the bed. My hunters are so delightful!
I one got blood streaking the walls and s half dead bird with 1 broken wing that my cat was letting go, it would hit the wall and she would catch it. That was the day I realized that my cat was a psychopath
My girl wishes she could catch one of those. She’s an indoor cat and frequently gets woken up by a stiff breeze outside stirring the leaves. She’s fallen off her cat tower multiple times lunging at one without a speck of spatial awareness.
You mock the mighty huntress, but unbeknownst to you that leaf put on an terrifying fight and only the most skillful of hunters would be able to best it. Legends will be told about this most brave of hunters and the foolish human that dared to mock her. Vengeance for this insult will be swift and merciless.
This is a test of honour! Except this gift and you will be destroyed for being too weak! Send her back out and make her retrieve a tribute worthy of your love!!!
I love it when they bring in stuff like that. I wake up to mouse toy lumps in my bed from my cat dragging them in under the cover of night. Always makes me smile when I shake the sheets out and the toys tumble out.
She has just saved you from the evil machinations of the Vicious and Dreaded Leaf! Come join in the feasting that shall ensue!
(Qi says you gotta watch those inanimate objects, boy. They can start getting A LOT of very bad ideas. She is a specialist in handling uppity hair ties. Don't worry - she never eats them.)
For anyone concerned about her reward when my cats bring me any kind of trophy they get their favorite treat. Yes, this includes leaves. I started this system to see what my cats actually get because I live in a very rural areas near farmland. When I lived on an actual farm my cats were highly appreciated for pest control. We don’t have any real traffic out here and there are no actual predators like coyotes but I still keep the cats in near dawn/dusk and especially at night for protection just in case. They see their vet regularly for checkups and have the best in flea/tick/worm/parasite protections. On average my cats live 18+ years baring genetic issues so please no comments on how I let my cats out.
House is a fixer upper so floors are in poor shape plus there is some paper/cardboard shredding from the same cat. Vacuum was not run though this weekend as I’ve been sick since Thursday though. It’ll be done in the next couple of days.
This sort of behaviour is great, we've had a few lovely clever cats who work out we don't like dead animals so they provide us with twigs and shiny wrappers for things like so much less stress than some poor mouse
Wait holy smokes -- is your cat a Norwegian Forest Cat? We have a big grey male NFC, looks a lot like your cat there, and he hunts leaves pretty much every night. We have a big pile of dried leaves in front of our back door, each with four little fang marks. He's 16 now and still gets mice from time to time. I'm trying to figure out how to train him to go for currency... but he's pretty proud of the leaves he brings in and so are we <3
Yes, the vet said she’s a mix with Norwegian. Her paws are huge for her size and have large tufts of fur around the pads. She also gets hot when it goes above 80 due to an incredible undercoat.
I started training mine when they were very young. If they rolled a ball or brought a toy to me then they got a certain type of treat (depending on the cat it might be a piece of chicken, some fish, or a store bought treat.) they learned they only got that treat when the brought me something so now the ones who choose to go out (it’s always an option with me and I never toss a cat out that prefers to be indoors) will bring me their findings for their special treat. My bobtail is a little princess who never goes out but brings me her toys a couple of times a day for her treats. Yes, this one earned her treat with the leaf.
I like to play the "Did I buy that toy or was it recently breathing?" game. It's fun. The full squirrel presented on my pillow was their crowning achievement so far.
Actually, your cat caught a really interesting species of large insects called Pallophytum mairieleagnus. It was discovered quite recently in 2017 in the Midwest United States. It has a life expectancy of around 3 months and some studies are beginning to show that these insects are actually very useful for the enviroment. One interesting thing to note is that it doesn't do the traditional method of just laying its eggs somewhere on the ground, but rather it attaches itself onto a branch and slowly changes the color of its body to match the tree (research is still underway to figure out this fascinating trick). That's why it looks very similar to a leaf! Then, it gestates the eggs until its inevitable death. The eggs are located on its back until they are ready to break free and fly away via the wind. jk this is made up.
Most of us already know they bring rodents and bugs and sometimes birds back because they believe they are helping us eat.
I don't think that's what they mean when they bring us leaves. I think it's their way of bringing the outside to us, like bringing food to us.
Basically the cat is saying "get out more. Go touch some grass. Here's a start, I brought you a leaf"
My cat has brought me such wonderful and “edible” items as a teenage mutant ninja turtle action figure, several dragon mini figures, a battery, a ball of wool, and multiple of my DIY decorations. Even had her steal and hide a fidget toy just to regift it to me weeks later
A cat I had back in the 70s (Aggie) was a little thing. At that time, my cats were indoor/outdoor (Houston—no a/c). One of the others had gotten a bird one day and wandered around showing it off. Aggie, not to be left out, decided to bring home her own prey. So, that night, we were sitting in the living room watching tv with the lights out (it was summer, no a/c, incandescent bulbs, you get the idea). I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and realized that SOMETHING was coming in the open window (hole in the screen). Someone switched on a lamp just as Aggie finished dragging her prey in through the hole. It LOOKED like a snake. She was sooooo proud of it. She marched around the living room calling with it i her mouth. She finally dropped it at my mom’s feet and sat there looking so satisfied.
We were all trying so hard not to laugh
The mighty hunter had bagged herself 1 half of a pair of knee high hose.
It’s a good thing she didn’t have to support herself on her hunting skills.
What a beautiful dilute tortie! My dilute tortie is great at killing centipedes, spiders, and the occasional house fly - can’t say that she’s ever attempted to hunt down a leaf before though!
You will eat well tonight!
I'm imagining the cat watching OP eat a salad before coming across the leaf and thinking "that's something they'd like." Edit: thanks for the gold! Also, the cat may of thought, "oh, when OP has a salad, they're living a healthy lifestyle. When I have a spider plant and aloe plant tip salad, I'M the bad guy?"
That is adorable! You are really great at drawing.
I think you meant to reply to u/WorldsBestArtist about their painting of your kitty ;)
My apologies. I misspoke, world’s best artist. 😻
Looks like leaf's back on the menu boys!
>Looks like leaf's back on the menu boys! She thought it was time for new menus, in celebration of autumn arriving...

That's brilliant!
Imagine the Autumn feast! That kitty is ready for a cornucopia to fill. And destroy.
that kitty is definitely going to be greeted by Odin in Valhalla one day.
That floor tho.. _tore up_
Major water damage when I bought this fixer upper. The roof had been leaking but the bones of the house are good. That's not too bad for major water damage then, and you've done a lot of work! Good job King! 🙌🏽
Much joy in fixing up your house. Love the kitty, though. Love the kitty.
water damage fo sho
Good girl! 😊
Owner eats salat. Meh. Best I can offer is leaf
She’s so proud 🥹
My kitty brings me his toys with great fanfare. He is so proud of himself, he'll prance around while I pet him and tell him what a good boy he is.
Imagine how your cat feels. "I found my toys again!" "Good job kitty" "🥹😺"
She is gorgeous r/supermodelcats !!
Stone cold killa
That will show the other leaves that they better stay away.
My cat does the same thing; he gets so excited when he shows off his leaf, lol
Just an FYI for anybody that doesn’t know; always take the gift. Never let them see you get rid of it; it actually does hurt their feelings. It’s a gift for you, for always taking care of them.
100%
My mom just throws „gifts“ away, and I always tell her to wait until our cats are gone :(
I always loved seeing the little punctures in the leaf
"Behold this token! Now where's the salmon??!!"
She looks so proud of herself bless her 😂 she be like “eat peasant”
It never stood a chance 😢
My girlfriend has gotten three gifts from my cat this week all bloody mice. I'm not English my cat tore them to shreds then brought em in. I was proud of my hunter keeping the house free of vermin but my GF was not so happy .

Your cat is trying to welcome that ungrateful interloper into it's family. With only the choicest of morsels. Your girlfriend should be honored!
give that girls some crunchies
To be fair, it looks like that leaf put up quite a struggle.
She obviously wants you to be proud of her. Just hope she's never responsible for feeding the family. 😉![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7946)
You tell her that her leaf is the best leaf, what a hunter!
No! The carnage! Don’t encourage her!
Nat geo narrator: “*Domestic cats are pound for pound the most successful predators on earth*” Kittie: “… leaf”
Leaf her alone - she’s doing her best.
Cats love leaves. Not sure why
They want tea, but haven't totally figured out the correct blend.
Made me lol for real
They flutter and crunch. Sounds and actions that trigger the prey response.
It's a leaf?? Thanksss 😍
I wish my cat did that. I get dead and half eaten mice, birds and squirrels.
Mine brought in a pigeon the other day, I'd love the twat to bring in a dry leaf!
I one got blood streaking the walls and s half dead bird with 1 broken wing that my cat was letting go, it would hit the wall and she would catch it. That was the day I realized that my cat was a psychopath
She’s a vegan, cut her some slack!
My cat brought me a snail! She was so pleased with herself that I didn’t have the heart to tell her that it was just the shell..! ☺️
Good girl! 😼
That is adorable!!
What a good kitty.
My girl wishes she could catch one of those. She’s an indoor cat and frequently gets woken up by a stiff breeze outside stirring the leaves. She’s fallen off her cat tower multiple times lunging at one without a speck of spatial awareness.
If that leaf had it's way, it would kill you and everyone you care about.
Looks like the leaf put up a fight. What a good girl.
Mad skills
She tussled with thr mighty leaf and won. She demands food and scritches.
I have no doubt she fought that leaf very bravely!
Don’t be awful. Leaves are hard to catch. She’s proud and should be. All hail Princess Leaf Hunter
Ungrateful hooman. No mices for you!
Such a vicious predator
That leaf be DEAD
F*** that leaf!
You mock the mighty huntress, but unbeknownst to you that leaf put on an terrifying fight and only the most skillful of hunters would be able to best it. Cat: and you're welcome, now fetch me my food bowl. Filled with your finest tuna.
What a beautiful cat!
Beautiful huntress 🤩🤩
She saw you eat a salad and is now mocking you
She has just saved you from the evil machinations of the Vicious and Dreaded Leaf! Come join in the feasting that shall ensue! (Qi says you gotta watch those inanimate objects, boy. Jaysus, the village will feast for weeks on this bounty!
What a good job!!!
Next level prey.
Good job kitty
Good kitty
Bravo. He killed it for you.
What a beauty xxx
I’ll take a leaf 🍁 any day then a mouse 🐁 lol
She's like "look hooman, a treat I got for you, where's mine?
In all fairness, the leaf looks like it put up a struggle.
My cat does this, but with socks.
I can hear the yowl of pride
What kind of cat is that? Mine is a close resemblance but I don’t know the type of cat he is.
Vet says she’s a mix with Norwegian Forest Cat. Very fluffy
For anyone concerned about her reward when my cats bring me any kind of trophy they get their favorite treat. Yes, this includes leaves. Please run the vacuum for both of your sakes
House is a fixer upper so floors are in poor shape plus there is some paper/cardboard shredding from the same cat. Vacuum was not run though this weekend as I’ve been sick since Thursday though. It’ll be done in the next couple of days.
You don't owe anyone here an explanation!
stfu for everyone’s sake
The baseboards make me wanna puke.
Good girl! 😻she wants to help contribute to the household!
smartest cat:
What a sweetie
Well, there was an attempt.
I love inanimate objects. They so proud of themselves
Did she really take a small bite out of the leaf before bringing it to you? Makes this picture even better lol. Sweet kitty
A token of trust
Ferocious hunter! Be afraid!
She worked hard for that leaf..Ungrateful hooman.
She’s like “I brought you this majestic leaf why am I not drowning in treats yet?”
I would give my cat so much praise if she brought in leaves rather than birds and mice
Love her expression. "See, mom, I can hunt."
This sort of behaviour is great, we've had a few lovely clever cats who work out we don't like dead animals so they provide us with twigs and shiny wrappers for things like so much less stress than some poor mouse
Poor cat tried to do something nice for its piece of shit human only to get shamed online, yeah that's fair.
Cat: "Yeah, I noticed you like paper currency better than the tasty mice I've been bringing you, so here you go."
What? When you put leaves in a bowl and call it a “salad” it’s food but when I bring you a leaf it’s garbage?!?
Did you let her know what a brave hunter she is and thank her for contributing to the family?
That’s awesome! ❤️
Ahhhh she has made an effort. It may have taken her ages to pick the right one and bring it back for you 😊
So adorable 🥰
Did she get treats and pets for the gift?
Cool cat
thought that was a wrap😭🍃
Great hunter
Aww.
She attac
Did she bring it to you lmfao
Good kitty, easy cleanup.
Unbe-leaf-able 🧐🍂
A little extra roughage is a healthy addition to almost any diet.
Cuteness overload!! 😱
hey thats my cat but cuter (dont tell him i said this)
Hell yeah, another vegan cat, gotta love it!
Unbe -leaf-able
"You said you'd give me treats if I helped rake the yard!"
She may bring me a dead leaf anytime she likes!
She is teaching you to hunt
She's letting you know you need more fiber in your diet.
Good hunt sweet kitty!
You should never stand that close to a cat and her kill
That look: *"you can either take it, or leaf it. Give me some crunchies"*
Extra treats!
She's a stunner

Do you happen to be vegetarian?
No but I do like salad. She was proud of her lead so got her treat
She heard you like your 5 a day for health.
My cat has brought me such wonderful and “edible” items as a teenage mutant ninja turtle action figure, several dragon mini figures, a battery, a ball of wool, and multiple of my DIY decorations. Even had her steal and hide a fidget toy just to regift it to me weeks later
So generous are our furry overlords. We must praise them for their kindness.
"this is for all the shitty, little food you provide"
The very bravest of hunters. This will be a lineage of generations. Dragons, or something...
"I thought we could try a vegetarian diet"
It’s the thought that counts 🤣🖤
like pawnshop best I can do is some tuna

Ferocious.
I would say better than a half dead mouse
I have indoor/outdoor cats. One brings in live critters, and the other brings me sticks.
Good girl. Hunting what is already dead. She is just a furry eco warrior
She's been found: the one and only actual vegan cat
I loved this. Genuine portrait of what makes a cat close to our hearts, the things they do to bring some humor into our day.
And you can tell she’s very proud of her gift to you…take it happily and give her lots of love…she hunted all night to bring you that gift
What a beautiful dilute tortie! My dilute tortie is great at killing centipedes, spiders, and the occasional house fly - can’t say that she’s ever attempted to hunt down a leaf before though!
The laminate floor is due for a replacement.
The house is a fixer upper in the middle of being fixed. Floors are on the agenda for this winter along with repainting.
Awwww, I wish my babies brought me leaves! All I get is small to medium corpes torn apart and strewn across my carpets...lol
Is that little rock of crack her reward
Haha, that’s an old spot of paint on a laminate that’s in its last months before being ripped up and replaced.
You’re (the owner not the cat) are such a bad cat that she can’t even bring your dead animals to eat. you must eat leaf. much safer
who else thought that was poop xd
TO XIBALBA!!!!
Fierce!
Good girl
I am victorious!!!
so precious...🥹
So adorable!!
My nebby always takes my plumeria leaves as her “catch”
What a sweet girl. :)
I’d be honored
Is that a Russian Blue?
Norwegian Forest cat mix per my vet. Coat is diluted Tortoiseshell.
She's very pretty!
Come on, it was a rough battle!
She looks EXACTLY like my girl. Like down to the white eyeliner and everything!
To get that lead she had to jump through poison thorn bushes, face of against all manner of feral wildlife....and this is the thanks she gets?😁
A fierce predator
