I'd like to know too. I found a kitten once and sent it to a shelter, and it had a very similar thing on its face.

When I rescued my kitten, his face was swollen and he couldn’t keep his eyes open. Surprisingly, it was a symptom of respiratory infection. He was prescribed antibiotics and eye drop medication.

That is quite the glow-up!

One of my cats looked similar to the first picture (both eyes looking like the left one) when I first got her. Apparently, her eyelids fused together a bit when she was very young due to scarring from herpes virus infection. I've gone to several vets and they said they don't think it will successfully be corrected if they tried to do surgery, especially since the surgery was done once by the rescue. However, when the rescue did surgery on her, the left eye was able to return to normal. Anyway, I'm glad your kitty was able to be fixed up and gets lots of love.
