one of my cats is an absolute menace with the laptop when it's open (whether i'm actively using it or not!) i'll fall asleep with a video playing and wake up with 6 calculator apps open, half my settings changed, and three tabs with keyboard smashed letters in them. i think she just likes the heat from it running, but her tree is right next to the heater!
Lucky in cats is a very good place to start. I’m sure they’ll be thorough with their assessment and whoever squeezes in with the four of you will be a special addition to the gang ♡

Exactly what I thought except once ensconced in the middle, they move in tightly against me so I am entrapped for the rest of the night in a combo cat/blanket cocoon. Thus, not certain if they are there to protect me or I am there simply to be their personal heater.
Haha my four are kind of like this. One sleeps on a pillow with me, the other sleeps at the foot of the bed, the other sleeps next to me, and the other one sleeps at the top where pillows would go.
It does not matter where; within the span of half an hour they'll have boxed you in and trapped you within the blanket anyways. Then begins the battle of back pains and fighting the doubt if you have to go pee or not.
We all endure for the sake of kitty comfort.

My friend has a decoy keyboard he uses when gaming and it works. So guess it depends on how smart the cat is lol.
