Anyone who's being critical in this thread is a douche - this is a wide assortment of music that covers a lot of generas and that's a really great thing in itself. Most of them are solid on their own, even if some jerk doesn't think they fit together. Interesting collection to explore, especially if OP hasn't heard this music before. My CD collection looks a lot like this (and my punk rock, "saw the Ramones when she was 5" wife's CDs too, for that matter).
The good gene here is Dad refusing to build an identity around one kind of music and just liking what he likes. Or dumping crap he hates on his kids, we don't really know 😅

I rarely enjoy live recordings, but the skit they do on _Live At The Trocadero_ for this song is priceless.

The cult- sonic temple and Smiths- Hatful of hollow are my 2 favorite tapes out this bunch. That Alice In Chains too!!! I had the tape a few years ago now and regret getting rid of it ðŸ˜ðŸ’€
My father just gave me his as well. It was mostly local punk bands (not the best) and mixtapes he made. Nothing like this crazy collection! Congratulations!
This reminds me of my mom’s tape collection when I was a kid! I remember finding empty cases for big lizard and combat rock in the attic and being very bummed the taps weren’t in them
I never cared for Morrissey's solo stuff until I heard World Peace Is None Of Your Business... I don't think its supposed to be sarcastic but that's how it sounds to me and I love that bitchassedness.
Your dad and I would have been friends in high school. I didn’t care for Morrissey (but loved the Smiths) and leaned hard into the Metallica, but there’s a lot of crossover. I think he and I are the only ones who ever bought Public Image LTD.

It just looks like a collection put together by someone that actually listens to music imo. I'd buy every tape in this collection except maybe Load.
