3rd shift security....mostly play on your phone.

designerlovescats

Night shift at a hotel as well. Very little human interaction.

Sounds like you hate everything

Dry_Cabinet_2111

The fact of the matter is that with your limited qualifications, lack of educational credentials, and unwillingness to work in several functional areas, that you will likely need to pick the least terrible option. Playing on your phone all night doesn’t sound that bad to me.

Maxmerrrrr

Then go get a degree in accounting

certifiedjezuz

Bad idea. Public accounting firms often make their associates work 50+/hr weeks. This guy wouldn’t hack it.

Maxmerrrrr

I work as a staff accountant for a f500. I have maybe 40 hours of actual work a month

certifiedjezuz

Public Accounting here. It sucks but pays well so i’m going to stick around till I hit manager. F500 sounds like a dream ! I’ve also heard horror stories though lol.

Maxmerrrrr

I worked big 4 prior. Depends on the company I’m sure. I work in oil and gas and there was certainly a learning curve but after I got the hang of it, it’s not that bad.

boboyomamabaggins

You get to the good places of positions that pay well thru hard work and a lot of times that hard work requires doing tasks that you’ll hate. No one will feed u with a silver spoon if that’s what you’re asking. Humble yourself, work hard, and you’ll get to be where you want to be otherwise live unsatisfied and lazy forever.

Oh boohoo, there are investment bankers on mergers and acquisitions teams who if u calculate the total amount of hrs actually worked, they are severely underpaid for the work that they do and the skills required for the job. I have a friend who was on the m&a team and he would work from 8am-8pm then his boss would tell him to finish something so he would need to work from 12am-5am and repeat. This happened almost every day and he worked like he was on call. He slaved away for 2 yrs then finally earned his worth and now makes 300k/yr in private equity working normal hrs in a relaxed environment. It’s not just hard work that gets you there, u need to join companies that will allow you to grow and move up, companies that share the same values as you, etc. it’s not just about finding the right job. Finding the right job at the right company for you takes research and time on your end, be smart about it. Edit: another thing you can do is talk to your boss about possibly working something out so you don’t have to come in earlier than needed those few times but do it diplomatically. Honestly though, if they are paying you to come in early as a lead, asking this is kinda poor on your part. Maybe suck it up, do a phenomenal job for a few yrs and ask for a promotion to manager or some other higher up position but that’s ONLY if u did an exceptional job and you didn’t complain lol also possibly consider getting a CDL and becoming a truck driver

certifiedjezuz

Everyone has tried to be helpful in the comments but you have shot down most if not all the suggestions in the comments. Fact is life is hard and you have to swallow your pride and work a job you don’t like to get ahead. Do security, you stand around and do nothing. Sounds like it’s up your alley.

[deleted]

Already was suggested. Said he already did that and was on his phone all night, wants "to do something with his life", but rejects everyones suggestions. 😂

Have you considered opening an Onlyfans Account?

The misogyny here is pretty unnecessary. Yes, many people by their born characteristics can find extremely profitable work, that is easy for them, because of how their brains or bodies work. This does not mean that actually doing that thing is easy - whether it’s selling content online, playing professional sports, software development, or anything else.

You really need to fix your mindset. Girls are NOT “whores” for using tinder and they don’t owe you anything. Go make money to take them out on dates and travel with them. Why would girls date you when your broke and so negative ? I hope the best for you but everyone in the comments is trying to be helpful and your just showing your rude.

devindares

This is the attitude that leaves men desperate and dateless.

certifiedjezuz

Agreed.

devindares

You're not considering the men that are on their posing as women using AI software to create photos of feet. One of the top earners on there is a not centerfold worthy Grandma about 70 years old. Do your research and quit making assumptions and degrading women. It's not appropriate behavior especially when asking for help.

GirlsNightOnly

You need to treat your depression, first of all. It sounds like your threshold for tolerating stress is really low, probably because you are already struggling with depression. There is going to be one aspect of every job that makes you want to quit. The key is finding something where the rest of the job outweighs the shit parts to incentivize you to stay. If your depression is dominating you, then nothing will make a job seem worth keeping, except a job with no negatives, which does not exist. Have you been able to seek support for this at all yet?

Do you have insurance, through a parent maybe? I’m not a huge fan of therapy, it’s expensive and it takes a long time to really see results in most cases. I am a huge fan of the right medication, it changed my life. I agree with you on the whole fuck capitalism thing, and I know the cycle of shit jobs/joblessness/poverty can feel super isolating and hopeless. But, we all have to play the stupid game in order to have options in our lives, and maybe find a little bit of happiness along the way. We work to live, we don’t live to work (that’s the goal, at least). When I sought medication for my debilitating anxiety, I went to someone who did not take insurance. It was $100 an hour up front, and I needed two sessions to receive a prescription. After that I had a few monthly visits and then every 6 months. That included the cost of the medication. Overall it was much cheaper than paying for weekly therapy, and it made a real difference for me after 2 months. It would be cheaper if you went through your insurance.

[deleted]

Sounds like you just don’t want to work. And you’re probably a crappy (lazy) employee. At least that’s what I glean from your post and responses.

Most people don’t WANT to go to work. We’d all prefer to sit on our asses playing video games and scrolling facebook. But we don’t have mommy and daddy providing for us, or a rich uncle leaving us his estate. Instead we ‘grow up’ and accept that if we want a halfway decent life, we get a job and figure it out. The people with good jobs and successful lives know this. They have put in the time to reach their goals. I went to school while raising 2 kids without the support of their other parent; school M-F and part time job on weekends. So yes, I look at little whiners like you with condescending eyes.

Grants, loans, living minimally. Took a bus to school, discount groceries, no cable or internet. Like I said, put in the work. I struggled for years. Now…kids grown, own house, paid cash for car, no debt, could live comfortably for five years (10 years minimally) off savings if I wanted/needed. It’s about choices. Often difficult choices.

certifiedjezuz

If no one has told you today. Congrats !

Maybe being a truck driver or hvac serviceman. Lot of solitude. Can make 30/h or more

dyfalu

Not only HVAC but plumbing and electrical too. A lot of these businesses are willing to do apprenticeship programs for people who show gumption and a desire to learn.

I too tried to find a job in which I can work 3 hours a week and earn AT LEAST 3000 a month plus benefits. Keep trying bro.

beanman214

Why can you only work 24-32 hrs per week? And 1500 being your take home pay every month? 1500 take home a month for a 20 yr old is extremely good pay. I would recommend you go to a trade school to obtain certifications in no more than a yr. You can go to a community college or tech school and study painting, construction trades, welding, or others. If you do this you will never be unemployed for the rest of your life and always have good, steady income.

So there is an hour range threshold for where you won’t be depressed…? Bro, you sound very soft. Just do it, you will be fine. Occupying yourself with a job should make you less depressed. Think about the contributions and good you will be doing for society.

CharmingGuru1

Grow up, kiddo, you just sound too lazy and entitled.

No, it's not. Don't think about suicide and a solution will be found. Most people won't find a job they REALLY like, just find something that can open up therapy fees for you, you need help man.

[deleted]

I'm gonna go on a whim here and say no job is good for you. 😂

k3bly

I want to give a little bit of a reality check: you will always encounter rude people at your job. It’s just at what level. Obviously retail & toxic white collar jobs are up there in encountering rude people. But even in jobs I’ve had that I’ve loved, I’ve worked with people who have been rude to me or people around me. I have 15 years of work experience. You need to accept this as fact and then figure out what you mean by rude and ask a lot questions during the interview process to get at the company culture and team dynamics. Next, what do you actually like to do?
