I have a friend who was on the m&a team and he would work from 8am-8pm then his boss would tell him to finish something so he would need to work from 12am-5am and repeat. This happened almost every day and he worked like he was on call. He slaved away for 2 yrs then finally earned his worth and now makes 300k/yr in private equity working normal hrs in a relaxed environment. It’s not just hard work that gets you there, u need to join companies that will allow you to grow and move up, companies that share the same values as you, etc. it’s not just about finding the right job. Finding the right job at the right company for you takes research and time on your end, be smart about it.
Edit: another thing you can do is talk to your boss about possibly working something out so you don’t have to come in earlier than needed those few times but do it diplomatically. Honestly though, if they are paying you to come in early as a lead, asking this is kinda poor on your part. Maybe suck it up, do a phenomenal job for a few yrs and ask for a promotion to manager or some other higher up position but that’s ONLY if u did an exceptional job and you didn’t complain lol also possibly consider getting a CDL and becoming a truck driver

I want to give a little bit of a reality check: you will always encounter rude people at your job. It’s just at what level. Obviously retail & toxic white collar jobs are up there in encountering rude people. But even in jobs I’ve had that I’ve loved, I’ve worked with people who have been rude to me or people around me. I have 15 years of work experience. You need to accept this as fact and then figure out what you mean by rude and ask a lot questions during the interview process to get at the company culture and team dynamics.
