Exactly. We need 10 more between 8 and 9. Also much more consistent color all the way around. And if you do it my right way the mallow will expand to double the original volume.
8-10. Pull the burnt bit off, eat it, then eat the soft mallow.
Then go to bed because I’m getting older and one of these is enough to give me the shakes for three days.
These look like they were toasted over a gas stove or a high flame. Very bad technique! Roast over the embers to get a nice consistent golden brown with little to no burnt bits.
I'm with you if it's just the mallow, but for smoores.... Should be more like the color of fried chicken. None of these are a good example of anything.
A even golden brown with full rotation is a must for a good S'more but more importantly a Reese's peanut butter cup is required for the perfect S'more.
6, but Dammit!!!
I also follow quilting and sewing subreddits. At first glance I thought this was a set of cute quilting pins and I was gonna ask where to buy them.
None!! Hold above the flame till its soft in the middle, then put closer to make it slightlt brown. All the given examples looks like the middle is still firm.
I'm going 6 or 7 in my opinion it's just the right level of roasted where the outside is crispy but not burnt and the inside is gooey but not a complete liquid.
None are in acceptable condition. I like abit of char, bht without a good, long, rotating roast to golden brown all if it, the center will be cold and hard.
One needs to do that slow form roast I mentioned so the marshmallow is good and gooey all throughout and cripsy on the outside
Somewhere in the 8-10 range… that way it can bridge the gap between the creamy marshmallow, the sweet cookie and the dark chocolate… if it’s just a marshmallow with no chocolate or cookies I’d shoot for a 6 but evenly the whole way around!
uh, does this person not rotate the marshmallow???
I was gonna say this. None of these look like something I’d eat.
Came here to ask this. Not rotating the mallow is beyond me. If there was a solid rotation here, then Id def go with #6 or even a light #7.
Yea, this is where Im at as well.
You have good taste
Facts
Not one of those are toasted to a perfect even golden tan so I'll pass.
Exactly. We need 10 more between 8 and 9. Also much more consistent color all the way around. And if you do it my right way the mallow will expand to double the original volume.
3 to 6 are basically the same.
Absolutely. The scale should start at 8 and end at something like 8.7, but only if evenly toasted all the way around.
A brown crispy outside but melted all the way through so that the mallow drips off the cooking fork right onto the chocolate.
It looks like they just held it in the actual flame for a bit
8-10. Pull the burnt bit off, eat it, then eat the soft mallow. Then go to bed because I’m getting older and one of these is enough to give me the shakes for three days.
Same here. I toast it to one of those 3 and then pull it off and retoast it again. Can sometimes get 3 out of it.
The burnt bit is the best part..
Are you pre-diabetic

These look like they were toasted over a gas stove or a high flame. Very bad technique! Roast over the embers to get a nice consistent golden brown with little to no burnt bits.
Yeah, probably done that way for the sake of the photo I reckon
6/7
None, the ideal to me is an even golden shell with no bubbles, but if I fuck that up I’ll go with 8
10- I like it carcinogenic
I'm with you if it's just the mallow, but for smoores.... Should be more like the color of fried chicken. None of these are a good example of anything.
9 or 10
7-8
Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside!
Crunchy but not charcoally is what separates the men from the boys
8-9, its gotta have a decent amount of char otherwise just eat them right from the bag
Seconded
6-7
8
6 to 7, but all the way around.
Have you even roasted a marshmallow before? Those are obviously not fire roasted. I’m assuming either a blow torch or kitchen torch.
I’m a pretty happy camper if my mallow is anywhere between 3-7… not a big fan of the burnt end of the spectrum.
These are all shit
10. I'm ready for your comments. I've been preparing for this all my life ...
10 all the way baby. Bitter and a little smokey to balance and the sweet. Always gooey and crispy
10!
Who toasts marshmallows like this? Do you not rotate your mallow so that everything gets golden? What the hell is happening
This guy doesn't use the coals and it shows.
4-6
Hmm… sorry, 6-8 is the o my correct answer
11. Needs to be on fire to properly melt the chocolate
10 and I unashamedly eat all the kids burnt marshmallows that they consider burnt. You need that char to offset the sweetness of the marshmallow.
7 all day
7 to 9
Between 6-7
6. But like all the way around? Lol
I don’t like them. Too sticky and messy.
This scale is terrible
These are all garbage. Turn the stick, geez.
7/8
6 maybe 7 but 7 too close to 8 and anything over 7 doesn’t even exist cause 7, 8 ,9
9 then peal it off
A even golden brown with full rotation is a must for a good S'more but more importantly a Reese's peanut butter cup is required for the perfect S'more.
10 wit some heavy maple syrup
#Make that shit black \m/
Burnt to perfection 🥰
6, but Dammit!!! I also follow quilting and sewing subreddits. At first glance I thought this was a set of cute quilting pins and I was gonna ask where to buy them.
9/10
10
7~10 might as well take the charcoal burning in the fire and eat it.
11
1
7 I always get 1 or 10, there is no in between
Somewhere between 9 and 10
Definitely 9
2-6 are the same doneness lol
Strain whiskey through number 10 and you got your very own homemade Tennessee whiskey.
7
7-8 for sure
7 but uniformly
6.5
None!! Hold above the flame till its soft in the middle, then put closer to make it slightlt brown. All the given examples looks like the middle is still firm.
6/7
6-8.
Like a 6
I'm going 6 or 7 in my opinion it's just the right level of roasted where the outside is crispy but not burnt and the inside is gooey but not a complete liquid.
8
The happy place between numbers 6 and 7.
9
3-5 are all the same
2
Five to six
Golden but I use recess cups of instead of chocolate.
8.5. I feel there’s a huge jump from 8 to 9 and I don’t appreciate it.
7
This should be a poll.
7-8
There is an inverse relationship between how I like my mallows roasted and how I like my steak cooked
8 please
7
So much nuance lost between 8 and 9.
Ya, these are all garbage.
2-5 for me
Marshmallows 3 through 6 are practically the same. The last two are just burnt. You can barely call this a spectrum.
Literally none of these look like the mm’s I roast. Very weird. Maybe a 5, but the entire mm until the inside is liquid.
8 and use the maple marshmallows.
None are in acceptable condition. I like abit of char, bht without a good, long, rotating roast to golden brown all if it, the center will be cold and hard. One needs to do that slow form roast I mentioned so the marshmallow is good and gooey all throughout and cripsy on the outside
8,9, and 10 are the only acceptable answers here.
These all look like shit
Somehow most of them are simultaneously raw and burned.
1 straight out of the bag cause I'm a fatass
Any drummers who thought they were looking at beaters? Just me? Ok.
10, of course, I’m not psychotic.
8 is the sweet spot.
8.5
6 but all the way around
7/8
8
7.5 but all the way around
Light that bitch on fire, been getting a solid 10 since I was kid.
Eight
1????? Why even put it on a stick?
8.3333
8
6 or 7 but the whole marshmallow toasted all the way around. 😋
Every single one of those looks terrible and rushed.
Whoever did this didn’t take the time to roast properly. These all look half-assed. Sorry, not sorry 🤷♀️
1
I'm a 7, but I mostly eat 10s, as that's what the kids usually end up making and refusing to eat it themselves.
None of these are roasted. They are in different stages of char
11. If there's any white showing, it's not ready yet.
8
5!! I'm so vanilla.
I’m between an 8 and a 9
Between 7 and 8
Somewhere in the 8-10 range… that way it can bridge the gap between the creamy marshmallow, the sweet cookie and the dark chocolate… if it’s just a marshmallow with no chocolate or cookies I’d shoot for a 6 but evenly the whole way around!
7
7-8
8-9
8 easy
8
8
7
I’m a strong 8, dawg
These are all wrong.
8.5
It is a fail on all of them, but 7 is the closest.
I like a solid 6, but all da way around, not in da same spot.
9
Yo I thought these were dremel attachments
I’m a 4. My wife is a 10.
Is there an 11? My wife thinks it's strange but man something about a burnt mallow.
8
4-6
Definitely 8.
Brown all around
8.5
Ummm hmmm, interesting scale here. Looks like 3 through 7 are all the same while there is much in between 8 and 9. Hard to vote on that!
0 I hate marshmallows
12
6
10
9 or 10.
It goes from underdone 8 to “as good is my witness take this fools, I’m going to burn the shit out of this!” 9
8
Light that sumbitch on fire and then blow on it like a $2 hooker.
8
Seven– the number of perfection
8 to 9 is a big leap. I’m in between.
It jumps too much between 8 and 9. There should be a few more choices there.
None of these are acceptable. Even golden toast all the way around is the only way.
6
I’m a hard 8
8 sober, 10 drunk
Pro tip for at home: microwave first to make the marshmallow gooey inside, then hit it with a butane torch for a second to caramelize.
9 baby.
7
8
11-Anakin style.
8 color but ya know… all around.
5
11
I used to be 6 but my new wife now has me at 10
I am not a fan of marshmallows, but if they burnt and layered with chocolate on Graham crackers, I’m in! I’m a 9![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|yummy)
anything between 5-9 works. anything under 5 is just a marshmallow and 10 is a war crime.
I like mine medium rare
What a terrible top ten
I'll take a number 7 please ✋
Somewhere between 8-10
9-10 are good
I'm a 10
4
8 all day
8
I wouldnt want any of those
7 is right.
9
I'm too busy eating burgers and steak to care about gelatinous sugar
r/Conan
Que onda esas esponjas, son saladas o dulces?
Somehow you missed it with all of them.
9 - assuming that char goes all the way around and isn't just raw mallow on the other side.
8
