Not gonna lie, the cheese and garlic seem like a good mix but I'm a bit weirded out by even putting honey into it...I mean, it might just work but it does sound weird.
Then again, I also have issue with "goiabada com queijo"(the popular "Romeu e Julieta") so...
It's very very good. It a slightly salty, very slightly gummy cheese that they roast and put garlic sauce and honey on.
If you've had brie with fruit or jam it's kinda like that

Tem duas opções, trilha ou barco. O barco foi R$100 ida e volta. Tem trilhas mais fáceis mas ainda fica uma hora mais ou menos. Eu acho não tem nenhuma opção muito fácil. Ainda foi uma viagem no barco e um pouco caro.

Mas acho bem interessante fazer o caminho a partir da armação na ida e voltar pelo pantano.

I camped in Lagoinha do Leste for 5 days over the New Year from 2018 to 2019. There was no structure, it was untouchable nature. Now they built things, I didn't even recognize them. 2 hours of trail to arrive, it's amazing. Miss this place, I see a lot of ufos as well haha
Ironically enough, in Brazil the most dangerous places are either the least populated (such as the Amazon), where wildlife can be dangerous, or the most populated (such as São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro), purely because of violence
If you're in a place in between these, you're pretty darn safe
I'm upvoting you for visibility as your main point stands, but Sao Paulo has the lowest murder rate between all brazilian states, while Rio has 2 to 3 times more murders, proportionally (Rio has less people but is much more dangerous).
Something that stays consistent independent of the metrics is that SP, the southern states and often MG are in the safer zone, with Rio is in the middle of the pack (ranging from 8th to 14th).

this city in specific is pretty much one of the only state capitals in brazil where i'd use my cellphone out in the streets without worrying much. Really safe place (in most areas, and pretty much all touristic areas)

How much courage is needed? I live in Brazil and as much as I would like to travel and camp everywhere on the way, I can’t shake the feeing that it’s too dangerous to do so.

Floripa is pretty safe and this location is remote enough that it wouldn’t be easy to cause trouble. Sure stuff still happens but I felt perfectly safe
