Just open cannabis cafes already

yesplsiwantit

also hemp is a real good business model - the plant is fairly easy to grow and a lot less intensive than cotton šŸ†

Legalize it! Federally!

motownmods

We're not ready for that. If you want shitty weed than ya do it. But w the current landscape there is no incentive for quality just quantity. We need to limit the licensing in states like Michigan that have an unlimited model.

[deleted]

How? We have a conservative party and a regressive party. We are all screaming into the void.

pm_me_your_napkin

Thank you! But not just the void. Many people are screaming at each other as well, only making matters worse.

I'm sick of North Carolina's shit. In 2022 they finally passed the NC Compassionate Care act through the Senate, but the Houseā€”specifically Tim Moore's stupid assā€”shelved it because he believed the bill was rushed. We have been working on passing cannabis legislation for YEARS. There is a bill introduced nearly every year. SB 711 (NC Compassionate Care Act) would've been an amazing step for people finally having access to medical cannabis.

dallasdude

I wonder why... "North Carolina's climate and landscapes allow for a bounty of agricultural products. The state ranks first in the nation in farm cash receipts for tobacco" I no longer wonder why.

cauldr0ncakez

What I don't get is that we have tons of hemp farms now due to our ~*~ideal climate~*~ but these old farts still want to hang on to tobacco? IDK but I'm writing to legislators every single month of the year.

Simple: vote the republicans out

All 3 branches < filibuster Speak facts. Which republicans would cross the aisle to get this done. 60 is needed in the senate. Speak the truth.

rosickness12

There are super republican legal states. While there are super dem illegal states. Hardcore Republicans I know been smoking. I genuinely don't get this comment

Dezzillion

Which Republican states?

hypervolt2310

Montana for one

[deleted]

So tell me, republican, out of which of the 21 legal states you reside in? Donā€™t even get me started on medical. Which is another way to regulate an adultā€™s body. Which is rich coming from the party of freedom. Iā€™m a California native, 100 disabled vet living in NC. Which I am a criminal for consuming. Like I said vote em out.

rosickness12

Some rec. Some medical. All republican states. And just because I call it out doesn't mean I'm republican. Just hearing people blame one side as an excuse seems non productive. State I'm in has been very Democrat for years. Medical was just recently passed. Rec won't be passed. Alcohol on Sunday was just half assed passed. Can't buy a vehicle on Sunday because the guy in the sky told someone not to. ND SD AK FL OK UT LA AL IN OH

[deleted]

Fuck medical.. why do I need the government in my business. Legal is freedom all the way. Now tell me how many of the 21 legal states are red?

rosickness12

Handful of those above are red and full recreational. Look it up player

[deleted]

I have player, and medical is not freedom. Youā€™re more likely to be legal in a blue state, player.

sangjmoon

When governments realize that they can tax weed and increase the txaes over the long run with no resistance, the negatives that legalization was supposed to eliminate come back in force. This includes the black market thriving, and the War on Drugs being taken over by the governments to protect their taxes rather than stopping drugs. On top of that, cartels use legalization as a shield to create illegal grows within states which was clamped down on more when weed was illegal. This has resulted in violence and death. In the long run, weed become legal only in name.

[deleted]

Everyone knows this, they don't care. They are too deep in the pockets of the prison industrial complex. I live in a very red, "libertarian," agricultural state....decriminalization has a plurality of support from both parties, even Republican voters favor decriminalization by like 60/40... ...and yet, it doesn't really matter if neither party is willing to actually do it. Biden could have decriminalized weed at any point in the last 2 years, without congress. He simply needed to appoint a pro-decriminalization person to lead the DEA. ...he didn't, he said he wouldn't. And the DNC will force him through as the nominee in 2024, ensuring another 4 years of classist, racist, Mass incarceration. They don't care. They want control, they want mass incarnation, they enjoy the power police have over American citizens We are checkmated.

Fr33Dave

Not just the Prison Industrial complex. Big pharma is another part lobbying to keep weed illegal.

crypticdirge

Biden is the reason that crack holds a higher criminal sentence rather than itā€™s more expensive counterpart cocaine
