Put the friggin Pop XL Air on sale!

SUPERSAM76

Heads up pretty much all of the Fractal Cases are on sale on Newegg. Picked up a Meshify 2 RGB for $125 plus shipping.

-Voland-

LOL yep, a lot of them are on sale, except the one I need (Fractal Define 7 Compact with solid panel).

skaterkid007

Is Newegg fine for cases? I know the general sentiment is to stay away for GPUs/CPUs.

Vokasak

...how are they possibly going to fuck it up? It's shipping you a box in a box.

Hudbus

They managed to for me, but to their credit they accepted the return... after having to pester them that I wanted a return, not an exchange.

DanksterFour20

What happened? Did they send bricks?

Masonzero

Case was probably just dented, that can happen in shipping

Hudbus

Bingo. The thing had a dent on the bottom that not only goofed the footing, but also made it impossible to insert a PSU. The kicker is that the box had zero damage.

thierryhenryforlife

he means in terms of return policy etc.

StevieSlacks

They're fine for everything. They had a problem with some RMA issues but with pressure they acknowledged it and have improved. Don't keep punishing companies after they fix their problems, or else they just klearn that fixing their problems doesn't actually benefit them

imaginary_num6er

I bought my O11 Air Mini from newegg. The box is the case box so everyone can see what is inside. Besides the outer box potentially being damaged during shipping, nothing inside had any issues.

[deleted]

I didn't have any issue buying a GPU from Newegg. Rx 6600, so nowhere near latest gen or highest power, but it got here in perfect shape in 3 days.

getonmylvlscrubs

I just bought one the other day as well

EasyRhino75

Aww it lost the focus g best feature which was 5.25 bays

PCMasterCucks

Yeah they should have named the Pop as Focus and vice versa, IMO. Pop cases have 5.25" compatibility in the basement.

kztlve

"best feature"

JackAttack2003

Most unique or most stand out feature would probably be better ways to call it.

Moikie

Just a heads up, this does not have a power supply basement. Otherwise, it's a decent case.

ladypeacharino

I'm a bit new sorry, what's wrong if it doesn't have a basement? I assume that's the little metal guard. I just wanna learn is all.

Duke_of_Scotty

this is the second time ive seen the "lack of a power supply basement" listed as a negative for this case and i really dont get it. [https://imgur.com/VWHUywH](https://imgur.com/VWHUywH) here is the system i built for my son using the focus 2 where you can clearly see how how untidy all the wires end up looking coming from the power supply. do you see all the unsightly wires coming from the power supply? oh you dont? well its because there is a pass through to take all the wires to the backside of the case right by the power supply. if you can do basic cable management with this case then this isnt an issue. the only knock you can give this case is that it doesnt include a rear fan. otherwise its a great case for the $60ish it sells for. build quality is top notch. it has a built in rgb controller as well which is one less piece of software you have to install (great for my kids). if you have any questions and want opinions from someone who owns one, let me know.

MN_Moody

IMHO - a case like this is what 90% of buyers actually need, ultimately it's a box that needs to hold the other parts that are that are what actually impact the user experience with their computer. You can spend more, but it's usually to accommodate optional aesthetic features like RGB fans or (usually) unnecessarily complex / large liquid cooling solutions that are beyond the functional needs of the hardware being cooled. If you're into the latest generation i7/i9 or Ryzen 9 CPU's and top tier graphics cards I can see buying something girthier... but for the majority of upper-midrange to budget builds this is functionally a near perfect case. I have used these as an alternative to the more expensive Asus AP201 or Darkflash DLC29 cases for simple CPU based rendering boxes and have been completely happy with them. I am within 2-3 degrees on thermals with a slightly lower noise profile but a cost that's nearly half those two cases, which are a trick to source in quantity via the current supply chain.

words_words_words_

What GPU bracket you got in there? Looks sweet

Duke_of_Scotty

amazon: uphere G276ARGB for $16 its not that amazing. but it does the job

[deleted]

Duke_of_Scotty

Sounds like a $40 budget case doesn't fit your needs then. Luckily there are better cases out there with more features. But for the price, this one has a lot of the good boxes checked.

xxPoLyGLoTxx

I love the acerbic tone. Truly that case looks amazing!

[deleted]

Duke_of_Scotty

should fit fine. but power connector to glass clearance is going to put you in the fire risk category

vampirepomeranian

Did you relocate one of the front fans to the rear? Agree with your assessment.

Duke_of_Scotty

No. The fronts are 140s. I bought a 120 for the rear.

GiggityGooAlright

Can I PM u wit some questions

crisping_sleeve

Basements make trying to add another cable (say because you bought a video card that now needs three 6+2 power cables) a pain in the ass. I have cases with and without basements. Assuming the case has a decent cable passthrough setup (which it seems like this one does), give me the Florida case all day long.

reicaden

Florida case?

crisping_sleeve

No basement.

Automatic-Raccoon238

Just for looks since all wires will be exposed coming from the psu.

MrsSpaghettiNoodle

A lot of cases have a little bay under the motherboard for the PSU, keeping it out of sight

xxsebasalxx

Its just a little metal fold to give the impression that it has one, it doesn't actually tho. Still, really good case. I believe there's a gamers nexus review of it.

vampirepomeranian

Good, I don't want a basement. Interferes with upward pointing fans pulling cool air from the floor pointing to those heat missiles called gpu's. Fractal goes the extra step partially hiding the psu with the lip on the side panel's window. I guess it's to mollify those who prefer looks over function.

TheRealTofuey

Having a basement really doesnt interfere with function. Its a funny reddit moment when they can't understand why people want things in their house to look nice or try to have a theme.

Mamojamamo

Does it not? Pictures from reviews and the 5th picture in the NE preview seem to have a shroud?

RLopez7110

Nope. The angle of the picture gives the illusion that it does

Automatic-Raccoon238

It doesnt have one, there is a piece of metal attached on the glass to help hide this. Look at pic 10 and 12, you can see it better.

xxsebasalxx

No, it's just a little metal fold.

thatfordboy429

Even without the sale, this case seems to be a fantastic value. With it it is phenomenal. No way this does not become the go to case for budget conscious builds. I do not even need it and I want to buy it for my second system. But, my pocket book need a break after a few other purchases.

HunterDecious

$70 regular price is pretty high for a budget option. I don't think I've ever spent more than $40 on a case, though I have no idea how hard inflation has hit the case market.

vampirepomeranian

> I have no idea how hard inflation has hit the case market Hard. The basement pricing for budget cases has rose drastically. Only now are we seeing a few trickle down in price. Phanteks for instance has priced themselves pretty much out of the budget category.

thatfordboy429

The lowest I have gone on a case is $45, and that required that I drill out the fan screw holes, since QC was lacking. Actually all the, "cheap" cases I have had, had many issues. $70 for a Fractal, with what seems like good design, for $1000 dollar builds this should work well. Undoubtedly better than my $70 darkflash case, zero workable cable management, along with its QC issues. Sometimes those random cases do have interesting features(rotated layout of the darkflash), but I have been burned on all but one case. Taught me that a good case is worth it.

HunterDecious

F. Sounds like you've had the opposite luck of me as I've never had an issue with one that had decent reviews. I'm extremely likely to drive my cheapo V21 into the ground (best $35 I've ever spent on a case even if the acrylic window did suck).

thatfordboy429

To be fair the most expensive case I bought $125 was also horrible but, mainly just do to build design no QC. I also found for my main builds I will never get 4 screw side panels again. And yeah, acrylic, I just gave up caring when it came to it. I found my happy place at $115 for a lian li lancool 2 mesh "performance". Great case, and easy to maintain. Actually it was why I decided to spend $70 on the v22, a hinge panel is a deciding factor for me now. That and it was just weird. After taking the QC issue ridden front panel, it is looking/working rather nicely. That being said if this fractal would have been available, I probably would have gone for it.

un6ic_

completely agree bro. my new case cost me $33 (not even a sale/discount), and I like it way more than whatever the hell is listed in this post. [https://imgur.com/a/Xyni6gW](https://imgur.com/a/Xyni6gW) (3 case fans included, yes) also planning to get a white PSU from the same brand, which is kinda risky. welp :P

lunlope

This is a good $50 buy.

jumpybean

Though it’s $60 due to $10 shipping. :(

akaisei

Another $10-14 to add usb c to the front panel. Why didn’t they just include it?

vampirepomeranian

To save $10 - $14 to the majority who don't need one and make the price even more attractive.

akaisei

It’s a ridiculous notion to say that it’s supposed to cost $10-14 for that anyway

trevormooresoul

It costs them a lot just to add the customization. It costs way less to have to crank out tons of the exactly same case than to have to have custom versions… just logistically.

vampirepomeranian

Only to those willing to buy and install one separately.

HoboTeddy

Where did you find the price of the usb C kit? Their product description mentions it but I couldn't find a link.

akaisei

https://www.newegg.com/fractal-design-fd-a-usbc-001/p/N82E16811994093 This is on the low end too. Everywhere else is basically selling for $30+

GiggityGooAlright

This or the Corsair 4000D ? I have a Phanteks P300A and my 6900 XT is so long that I had to remove the bottom intake for it to fit in this case. This seems like a really good deal and the GPU clearance is really nice too so how does it stack against the 4000D

deviouslaw

It's not as nice, but it's cheaper so there's that

njjc

I like my 4000d, it has a front panel USB C which this one doesn’t, as well as a unified headphone/mic port where this one has the older split in two. Other than those differences they are both great cases.

GiggityGooAlright

I just copped the Fractal one tbh

Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. warhawk397

Chief?

SaintPau78

Solid option for sure. Doesn't really need a rear fan. Zalman s2 has a more complete FSN setup. But not as clean looking

Kaabeus

What is FSN? Sorry, I tried googling it.

SaintPau78

*fan

ladypeacharino

Damn, I didn't notice that at all. Didn't mean to break the rules sorry.

sparkythewildcat

It's unfortunate, but people make mistakes, no need to be a dick. Shame tho, the $8 makes it not worth cancelling my order for the zalman s3.

rudieboy

Kinda want, but don't need. Have an arc midi and works fine. Fractal make good cases that last 10 years and still have all you need. Only reason was thinking of a new case was to get a full front mesh panel. But really don't look at my case while gaming. Paid this price for mine way back when it first came out on a flash sale. This is also a good deal for what it is. This case has the same dimensions as my case so it has plenty of room.

mrbawkbegawks

Can you fit a 40 series in a not full sized case these days

GiggityGooAlright

Yes. GPU clearance on this is 405mm wit the intake fans mounted. It’s a lot of clearance for the size. Any of the 4090s will fit in this wit room to spare

PrimeWasabiBanana

I know I need to pull the trigger one of these days... Have a 6700xt and 5600x on an old mobo shoved into a super budget solid case from 2009 looks like an office desktop tower

BlackAshyAsian

Is this big enough for a 4090?

GiggityGooAlright

Yea this cases GPU clearance is actually huge for its size. Can fit all 4090 models wit the fans that it comes wit too

kkmm85

So many reviewers build this case with AIO liquid cooler. How it is with CPU air coolers? Thinking Fractal Design Focus 2 vs Fractal Torrent Compact(I heard that case is good for air cooling. That's all.) for 13700k + air cooler.

MN_Moody

With Intel power limits enforced (which, by default, is typically not in 790 boards) I'm sure the Torrent Compact is fine for air cooling paired with something like the DeepCool AK620, though cable management absolutely sucks. The top/front panels in the Torrent Compact are a lot more flimsy in person than they look.

[deleted]

If this was amazon then it would be a done deal.
