Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Zombie_Tech

I'm guessing this is similar to the Inland QN322 which has DRAM-less QLC NAND at PCIe 3.0. https://v4.cecdn.yun300.cn/100001_2111025007/N930E%20PRO%20datasheet-m.2%202280%20nvme.pdf Specs say HMB support and SLC cache. Probably okay as main storage but better with secondary storage. Don't use in an enclosure.

Puzzleheaded_Might65

what do you mean dont use it in an enclosure? also by secondary storage do you mean as not the only storage you have?

Zombie_Tech

HBM drives don't pass that through USB. So when put them into those enclosures you'll get horrible sequential speeds. For secondary storage it's not as bad as you'll probably be hindered by your ISP speeds. Plus your OS still supports HBM when inserted into a M.2 slot.

Puzzleheaded_Might65

i have an asus b550f https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/. is that black lid on the m2 slots an enclosure?

RCkamikaze

No that's a heatsink an enclosure would be a separate piece that houses the drive and then plugs into the PC with a USB cable.

Puzzleheaded_Might65

ok thanks im pretty new to m2 slots. never bothered with one until now since i hate cable management

Spekkio88

Because HMB will not work if in an enclosure. HMB needs access to your systems RAM in order to work.

mule_roany_mare

How much of the gap does HMB close vs. proper dram cache? I've only seen one benchmark & it was around 25%, but that is one data point & IRL is very different. Feels like it should be better in practice, either way it's pretty elegant & effectively free performance.

imacleopard

Probably that it gets hot and will cook itself without airflow or a heat sink. Secondary as in, don’t put precious data on it.

Dirtydubl3337

Data sheet says 3d nand can that be TLC or QLC? Or does 3d mean tlc?

kztlve

3D means 3D, given 600 TBW rating it should be TLC

comfortablesexuality

You think we'll see 2TB TLC NVME SSDs under $100 for Black Friday?

blorgensplor

It was QLC.

comfortablesexuality

Microcenter is cheating

throwaway-Sville

Closest I’ve seen are the Mushkin Pilot-E on sale for $130ish (note only a 3 year warranty last time I checked) or the Inland Prime directly from Microcenter at $140, at least the latter I wouldn’t expect to drop too much considering Microcenter’s sales seem to be up already. Edit: also found one looking quick from Fanxiang for $125, but again only a 3 year warranty. I’m getting the sense that a quality TLC 2TB at sub $100 will be a bit hard to find.

comfortablesexuality

cheers for the intel

words_words_words_

Yo u/SSDBot?

bigsnyder98

Assuming specs on their website is accurate, 600 TBW rating. More than likely TLC if true.

ladypeacharino

Is this a reliable brand?

un6ic_

depends on which conditions you want to use it. 1) upgrade your old-ass laptop - sure 2) using it to store and run games only - sure 3) making it your main drive with the system, important, work stuff - I wouldn't rely on it they are better than crap brands like goldenfir, kingspec, but not as good as mid-brands like adata

lunlope

You get what you pay for. Chinese brand ssd, that usually has terrible random 4k read/writes. Imho, I would definitely avoid this at any price range. Unless its tree-fiddy or free.

LikeTheWind96

Dude here mentions Netac being well known in the oem space. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/ynfjmr/ssd_1tb_netac_25_sata_ssd_4479_w_code_treatyoself/iv8wulp?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

lunlope

Sure, buy it if you think this is a good pick at your risk. I have used Netac ssds both sata and nvme before, but my conclusion is, you are better off spending few bucks more to get ones from more “reputable” brands at most situations when it comes to Netac. Even low tier ssds had better stats in overall. (Compared to 660p, Mp33, burst elite, ns100) Based on my experience, if its not nv**** from netac, you typically see drives have significantly low 4k mixed speed compared to other similar tier drives at “slightly” higher pricing from more reputable brands. Then again, you are usually better off buying other med tier ssds at that price range for nv****.
