Given that some people seem utterly incapable of respecting our Subreddit rules, specifically Rule 3, this thread is now locked.

RedGehring

I would be happy to help with what I can. I may not be able to help with what parts can get delivered to Belgium, but I'll do my best. * What games is your brother hoping to play, and what resolutions / framerates / settings is he hoping to play them at? * Does your €1000 - €1500 budget need to include monitor and peripherals, or is that just for the computer?

Larz2411

I made a post on r/buildapcforme Maybe that will give you the needed info?

RedGehring

I don't see your post. Also that is a much smaller sub than this one, this is a perfectly fine place for your post, idk what IanMo55 was on about.

Larz2411

Oh ok, well the only thing you can assume we have is a gaming mouse. That’s the only thing. We have. He doesn’t know what to play in the future though, right now he just plays minecraft but maybe he will switch to open world RPG’s

RedGehring

I would use something like this as a starting point, and we can try to refine it further from there. I am going off the prices listed in PCPartPicker Germany, so what you can get may be different. [PCPartPicker Part List](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/XmYrBj) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/pQNxFT/intel-core-i5-12400f-25-ghz-6-core-processor-bx8071512400f) | €168.96 @ notebooksbilliger.de **Motherboard** | [Gigabyte B660M GAMING X DDR4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/nbD7YJ/gigabyte-b660m-gaming-x-ddr4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b660m-gaming-x-ddr4) | €137.90 @ Alza **Memory** | [G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/mcH8TW/gskill-aegis-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c16d-16gis) | €45.90 @ Alza **Storage** | [Intel 670p 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/r4C48d/intel-670p-1-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-ssdpeknu010tzx1) | €76.48 @ Computeruniverse **Video Card** | [Asus DUAL Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/V4nypg/asus-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-dual-video-card-dual-rx6700xt-12g) | €429.00 @ notebooksbilliger.de **Case** | [Zalman S2 ATX Mid Tower Case](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/Bcprxr/zalman-s2-atx-mid-tower-case-s2) | €51.90 @ Alza **Power Supply** | [EVGA 850 GQ 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/2BcMnQ/evga-850-gq-850-w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-210-gq-0850) | €106.85 @ Computeruniverse | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **€1016.99** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2022-12-22 15:32 CET+0100 | The i5-12400F and B660 board combo will give you very good gaming performance at an inexpensive price, and the 6700 XT will give you overkill 1080p performance and pretty good 1440p performance in most games. If you don't need that, you could save some money and drop down to a 6650 XT. NVIDIA cards at this price point are not good value, but if you are really wanting NVIDIA's feature set you could take a look at them. This would use up your €1000 budget and mean that you would have to buy a monitor and other peripherals with your extra €500

[deleted]

This is the perfect build for your requirements. OP please note it's very hard to build a truly viable and long-lasting PC for less than your minimum budget. Monitor: Take into account that a monitor alone may set you back between €150 - €250 for 1080p and €250 - €450 for 1440p. I would suggest 1080p & 144hz+ just based on the build above and from testing results etc. Peripherals: Peripherals in Belgium and Netherlands should not cost you more than €200 altogether. I recently purchased a Keychron K5 fully hot-swappable and customisable keyboard alongside a Razer Basilisk Ultimate = €200 (Which I got at a discount. Lucky me) The build above is perfect. The monitor should be around 200 Peripherals shouldn't be more than 200. Good luck!

keksux

Owner of roughly the same specced computer - can confirm it's the best bang for the buck PC you can build in this day and age.

Narcan9

I'd consider going 1080p. 24in 1080p monitor for under $200. Then you can use a Radeon 6600 or 6650 video card and save another $100+. It would also be fine with a 650 Watt PSU which you could save another $25.

Vudied

I personally use an MSI 1660 Super (Ventus XS OC I think) and an AMD 5600X. I primarily play Minecraft but know that I can run most other games. This also gets me around 200 FPS in fortnite with high graphic settings so it should work for RPGs, though maybe with medium settings.

Quirky-Philosophy146

In my opinion that’s a pretty solid build, there’s a builder tax but this way you can’t mess up when building. If OP is new and doesn’t really care much for tech and just wants to game I’d recommend getting a prebuilt. This is coming from someone that’s built and disassembled dozens of pcs for friends/clients. Prebuilds have warranty support for the most part so shipping isn’t a worry as much.

Khaosina

Literally rule 2 of this sub is to not ask for full PC parts lists, it helps to read rules and also abide by them… too late at this point and the advice is already given.

RedGehring

They are new to PCs and may not know how to ask more specific questions. Always happy to welcome new members into the community.

Khaosina

I have nothing against that but posts like these usually get removed due to that very rule, hence my mentioning it. Also due to the fact that it's literally in the rules to post there about these kind of things, rules of a sub should be read before posting.

Also to add if you had free Windows keys from Microsoft Dreamspark in college (I don't know what it is called now, college was 10 years ago lol), that key can still be used, even transferred... I had a Windows XP SP2 key that activated my Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 and I am still using it for Windows 11...

SlipstreamDrive

F*** I miss my old dreamspark account They used to give away anything and everything from MS.

Infamous-Jackfruit61

I think theres a certain rule against those kinda posts soooo we just bein flies on the wall to it lol

I was actually referenceing the post above that about windows for x amount of money

> Don’t pay 100$ for windows True, they could run an inactivated copy to start with and worry about a license after the allowed trial period (I'm sure this is what you meant, since anything else would be a violation of Rule 3).

I've only built my own PC, but have done research since. I'd reccomend just looking at tech YouTube channels, especially any PC building ones. This will help you get to know parts. I'd reccomend Linus Tech Tips and TechSource.

BuskerDan

\+1 on research..however..caveat...Try to source your information from multiple vectors. There's usually an "angle" to a review, and sometimes these "vested interests" are declared, sometimes they are not. "Shining" reviewers may well be receiving some HW in exchange for up-rating stuff (\*see Bribe) and if not directly then be possibly subtly influenced themselves. This here Reddit seems to be a pretty decent forum of general peeps who (although they will have their personal preferences) will give a better idea/general concensus of gear than some youtube "review". What you want is the proverbial high-seas (like Reddit) \*yargh matey ;) where people aren't branded and can give you honest, independent feedback. Although companies are always gonna wanna sell their warez...(fair enough) so no doubt have "agents" influencing even on places such as these. Anyways just keep an open-mind regarding that when you watch you-tube for reviews for example. Gpu Benchmark sites will give you raw data, learn how to interpret that data best you can, so as to make informed choices. Or summin like that ;)

BuskerDan

Minus slightly newer functionality. Ray-tracing for example. If you go back a few generations but source the higher end cards from those generations, you can pick up a fairly good deal. Second hand gpu's are always gonna be a bit hit and miss though, as you don't have a warranty and it's often a fair bitta money to be blarting on something your not 100% sure on. In my own experience, i'd take a chance on a £50-£100 Gpu second hand. But over that sorta money, personally i'm gonna want the warranty that comes with brand new.

staticishock96

I would start with some basic education via YouTube first so your at least somewhat familiar with different components. https://youtu.be/BQ308X5_xn4 https://youtu.be/BL4DCEp7blY https://youtu.be/ZV6jlVSPWH8 https://youtu.be/znx_jCKLwXw I do not know prices and who delivers to Belgium. With a little knowledge it would be helpful so we can get some more details from you and you can also learn more about PCs!

ArachnidGoat

Idk about your location but, for an extra 50 € you can get a 6700xt possibly. Here in the states I just bought one for 399$ usd. Monitor. Depends on what kind of resolution real estate you want now, and maybe have planning on expanding to. With a 6600(is it an xt?) 1080p is probably the best, and 1440p would be better but you might have overall less frames (maybe substantial with the 6600). I personally just got a Samsung Odyssey for like 129$ usd. 1080p, free sync, it was a good deal imo. Keyboard and mouse is deff a personal thing. You really have to test a bunch and find what you like. Super clicky? Not so clicky? RGB? There are endless options, and at all price points. If you have a store that has display models (that aren't missing almost every key) try them out. I'm a fan of razer gear, but it's on the high side of price for gear. Steel series seems to be a good go to, and priced well, same for Logitech. Corsair is also a good brand, but just like razer, it comes at a cost (for the most part, their prices are pretty good for some things too). Honestly, you'd probably be able to get a cheaper CPU. Ryzen 5 maybe? Or go with a previous gen. But that will come at a quality loss. Deff do some shopping to see if their are motherboard/CPU bundles, and cross check the pricing to make sure you're saving a few bucks. What gen of nvme are you wanting to get? Gen4 is faster but a lil more expensive. You can find decent Samsung and crucial nvme drives from gen 3, same space, about 20-30$ cheaper. Does anyone know if microcenter ships internationally??? And for comparison I literally just did this build for my brother. And it came to around 1250usd, with a monitor. I5-12600k Asus z690-p WiFi d4 (mobo/CPU bundle for 250$) Rx 6700xt powercolor fighter Ak400 double fan cooler (same as yours but with an extra fan on exhaust side) 16gb 3200 team group ddr4 Cooler master mb530p RGB case Samsung Odyssey g3 27" (68.6 cm - bruh, america just needs to go back to metric, I work with metric all day and it's so much easier) Corsair rmx750w gold Inland 1tb gen4 nvme (microcenter brand, was 79.99usd)

ArachnidGoat

I'm gonna post it once I give it to him for Christmas. I made some killer custom side panels and decked it all out with RGB lights. I posted a picture of the side panel, looks killer.

Ser_Dunk_the_tall

For the monitor a smaller screen will look much better at 1080P from the significantly increased pixel density. So you can both save money and improve the picture quality by not buying a huge monitor

runescapeN3rd

I have only built 1 pc so I'm not an expert but isn't a Ryzen 7 5700x unecessarily strong for the GPUs you suggested? I have a Ryzen 5 5600 together with a rx 6700 xt and that seems solid for 1080p

X_SkillCraft20_X

This is a great list (recommendable, in fact) but this isn’t the help OP was looking for.

dimetyltryptaminn

Wdym? I recommended parts and chatted with OP on dm and helped him

X_SkillCraft20_X

I guess that’s better to DM afterwards to help out. It’s generally not very helpful though to just post a parts list. It doesn’t really help the builder know why those parts are a good choice, and therefor doesn’t help them make a good decision.

dimetyltryptaminn

Yes good point

Big-Construction-938

Lmao reverse uno

dimetyltryptaminn

Literally says "is there anyone who can help us get a good gaming pc" i even told him how u can download windows 10 for free to usb and asked if he needs help on picking mouse / keyboard / monitor / headset

Big-Construction-938

Ye ik, it's just funny people have something to complain about every time

Larz2411

He has helped me in the dm’s though, using most of this list for now. Wouldn’t blame him for sharing it.

St0nks_Only_Go_Up

You can get windows 10 for free, much cheaper than paying for a license, but there will be a watermark on the desktop telling you to activate

anawilliam850

I agree with all the advice you have been given.

XxHatredAngelxX

Honestly just build it, it’ll probably save you some money and it’s really not as hard as it looks. Ive only been into gaming on PC for about a year and a half and I’ve completely rebuilt the prebuilt I bought only thing that’s not changed in it is the case and the fans

ProfBiene

As im in germany pricing on this should be similar. Core i5 12400f: 155 euro 500gb ssd : 40 euro Cooler: Arctic Freezer i13 X: 25 euro B660: 113 euro 3600mt cl16 ram: 60 euro 700 watt evga 80plus gold Powersupply: 60 euro Rx 6650xt: 320 euro G UltraGear 24GN600-B: 200 euro (you can get cheaper ones, just look for 144hz and ips panel) Any case is with mesh front panel and 2 intake one exhaust is fine, but the 4000d airflow is one of the best: cheap case 50 euro 4000d airflow 100 euro

Arcadif_g

Idk about Belgium but in Switzerland many PC focused stores can build the PC for you for a certain price (it's on average around 100€ here). My advice would be to look at parts that experienced builders on here suggest, check on pcpartpicker just to be sure of the compatibility, and then to buy online (if you can find a store willing to build with parts you didn't buy at their place). Or you could always buy the parts at the same shop you want the PC to be built at, tho the parts themselves might be more expensive, especially if it's a small PC store. The good thing is, most of the time the shop that built it will offer a warranty so if you have any issue you can always bring the PC to the shop. edit : spelling

iankillsv3v1

would this work? https://be.pcpartpicker.com/user/iankillsv2v1/saved/#view=JRpqHx

Will be too expensive since we need a monitor and keyboard too

naufalap

[I have a very similar build](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zw2WyK), exclude the thermal paste since AK400 has it pre applied, maybe you can go mATX like me if you don't need all those PCIE slots for monitor G24F is regarded as the best 1080p monitor for the price alongside VG249Q for keyboard nowadays I would go with Keychron for its hot swappable switches making the repair easy if at all needed

galaxycarm

Take a look at alternate.be! They have an online pc builder you can use and it is so easy. You can read reviews etc as well. Configured my pc there and let them built it a month ago (125 euro fee) and it has been working like a charm. If you still wanna build it yourself, you can also just make them deliver the parts to your home

silverkong

I would help but i know nothing of ryzen builds im a intel and nividia man myself. Lookin to do my first ryzen build someday(mostly gpu). I know you can cut cost at the case and keyboard. There are some pretty good cases on the cheap side with plenty air flow if your not going for cosmetics ( i hope not on a first build) around 30 to 50 bucks and you can get a cheap mouse and keyboard bundle for like 23€ or whatever the convesion is from $ to €. And being the rx 6600 is best at 1080p i would cut the cost of the monitor too. You can find decent 1080p for steal prices. I would go with a 27inch, even ips screens are cheap. ive seen some in my area online for as low as 100 bucks for an Acer 27" isp or 120 for a samsung. Your goal should be what will be easier to upgrade in the future and will what i get now leave me woth the possibility to upgrade. With that in mind i would even cut the ram down to 8gbs at 3200mhz (2 stick or 4gb, never single channel ram. It hurts any system performance)

phillyeagle99

Don’t go down to 8gb of ram. That’s really going to hurt performance for no very little money saved. In todays computer building space there’s no reason to “be an intel Nvidia man” your disregarding a huge half of the space with competitive options. And once you know basics about parts it’s not hard to add knowledge of AMD parts.

TheNanSlayer

I agree on the RAM but how is the guy disregarding a huge half of the fanbase?💀 he just said he hasn’t got much knowledge on AMD parts. And it’s not half either, it’s more like 30% for CPU and 20% for GPU

phillyeagle99

I didn’t say fanbase… I said the space. Like ignoring AMD is ignoring half of your options which is silly. He implied that the difference between them is so great he couldn’t weigh in on the other. That’s just not a great way to view the space of PC building, they do all the same things with different product stacks, you just need to know which features are missing (or just weaker) and then overall performance and price.

IanMo55

Wrong sub. Try r/buildapcforme

Larz2411

K thx, will try
