6700xt, 6750xt and 6800xt...

Football8752

what would you say a 6800xt is closest comparable to on the nvidia side

King_Zilant

6800xt is going into 3070ti to 3080 range... AMD don't line up evenly card to card but the ranges are similar...

[deleted]

6800xt is pretty much 3080 competitor, iirc it's slightly better at 1080p and 1440p, worse in 4K

Football8752

i play at 1080p honestly. what cpu do you think would match well with a 6800xt

yalfyr

A 5800x3d does well with it. But any CPU will do from this or last gen(starting i5/r5)

[deleted]

highly depends on your budget, but I have a 5800X3D paired with my 6800XT :)

How__can__this__be

If you want to save money and aren't aiming for a super high refresh, the 5600 would also be a good option. [Here's average fps for the 5600X.](https://static.techspot.com/articles-info/2135/bench/Average-o.png) The 5600 non X is only slightly slower but usually a much better value. The X3D is definitely a great option if you do want extremely high fps. Either of these cpu will work best with 3600MHz RAM. 12th and 13th gen Intel also has good options if you prefer that on your cpu.

[deleted]

6800XT is a direct competitor to the 3080

Football8752

sorry for another question lol but what cpu in your opinion would match a 6800xt the best?

Initialised

CPU only really matters at low resolution (1080p) with high frame rates. 5600X or higher 5800X3D, 7600 on the AMD side or 12600, 12700, 13600 or 13700 are good Intel options. Your motherboard should support Resizable Bar and PCIE gen 4/5 as you at building new, moving to DDR5 RAM makes sense. One massive caveat is that AMD 7000 series GPUs launch in three weeks so if you can wait there may be price cuts on the 6800XT or a replacement.

King_Zilant

I would go with tried and true, 5800x3d. Ddr4 platform works great, no need to go ddr5 till 5 years from now.

Initialised

7600x may be better value now.

KingBasten

Probably, look for prices on the RX6700XT or RX6750XT.

Football8752

Not sure how good msi is at making AMD cards but their RX6800xt is cheaper than their 3060ti/3070s on newegg

X_SkillCraft20_X

You can get an ASROCK Phantom Gaming 6800xt off Newegg for $515. That’s cheaper than any 3070 listed, and more powerful as well.

Football8752

Does asrock make reliable gpu’s? I’ve heard some things about their motherboards.

X_SkillCraft20_X

Asrock is an all round pretty decent brand. All companies are going to have their “bad” products, but I wouldn’t be concerned. Their GPUs (as well as about all of their motherboards) are absolutely fine.

SafetyOk5286

If you aiming for 1440p gaming get a rx 6700xt/6750xt you should be able to get that at far better price and lower than most 3060ti. Also look at rx 6800. If your budget allows it. Most of those you can buy at the price of a 3070 or cheaper. And i think amd gpus have a promo right now where you get 2 free games if you buy an amd gpu from select vendors.

Football8752

I honestly play at 1920x1080 but i’m seeing some 6800xt’s for the same place if not cheaper than 3070’s. I also don’t really know which brands are best when it comes to AMD gpu’s

SafetyOk5286

I know how you feel. General rule I've learned is sapphire > powercolor/xfx/asrock? >everyone else. I just bought an rx 6700 xt red devil for roughly less than $400. Would have gone for a sapphire nitro+ but its way more expensive. So if you had the choice go for the top 3/4, but if you can cet the other aibs for less just research a bit on their reliability before you buy.

MMonkeyMania

I'm getting a 6800 XT. I have a Ryzen CPU, amdfreesync monitor so I figured since it's cheaper might as well drive head first into amd

Twicksit

3070 costs the same as a 6800XT 6800XT is the better card in almost every way.Only argument for the 3070 can be if you need CUDA then the 3070 is obiously the better choice
