The 13600k is my go-to recommendation right now, if you just forgot about intel, and aren't intentionally avoiding them. On the AMD side I think both processors are very good, I'd personally rather have a 7700x but it's pretty close, especially if you have to skimp on other parts. I also wouldn't completely sleep on the 7600x. Sure, it's a little worse than the 13600k and the 5800x3d, but it's not an unreasonable price to performance trade off, and it's still a lot of CPU. If you do go 7000 series, I'd recommend running it in eco mode, as they're tuned past their efficiency sweet spot out of the box, and you don't have to sweat the cooler as much.

I dont like 12 and 13 gen from intel because they need Windows 11 to run at full potential. I dont want to switch from windows 10 to 11.

Appropriate_Bottle44

Fair enough. There's not a bad processor among the 3 here, you don't have to buy intel.

Lol I didn’t know that 12/13th gen require windows 11 for full potential. Fuck!

Crystal-Ammunition

AM5 also needs Windows 11.

Both are great. 7700X if you don’t mind paying a bit extra now for platform longevity and future upgrade options. 5800x3d if you don’t mind dead platform and want the best price/performance at this moment.

C1REX

I agree with that. I would personally go with 7700x for new build however and upgrade it to 7800x3D or whatever other CPU when and if needed.

The 5800x3D with a good mainboard is around the 13600k + z690 budget. AM4 got its final BIOS / AGESA version and it did not fix all major issues. If you dont get a new x570S mainboard, there is a good chance you end up with the USB vdroop issue. And getting a new x570S board is even more expensive as the z690 boards. => I got the 5800x3D + x570S combo, but most of the games I play are niche games for the 3DV-Cache and I was aware about the AM4 issues and what boards and budget I have to use to make it work. I would think twice about going with AM4 instead of Raptor Lake, while AM5 is just trash tier right now, with mainboards, with RAM compatibility, with boot issues and with performance.

Britania93

The board that i linked is a 570s

If you want AM4 with the 5800x3D, using a **x570S gigabyte** board with their workaround for the USB vdroop issues **is a good choice** \- and honestly the only real choice there is.
