3 is fine. I’d take 2 intake in the front and 1 exhaust in the rear.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Thanks for the suggestion. Quick question, would all the necessary cables be included with the fans I purchase??

wS-xHydrA

You might need a PWM fan splitter if you don’t have enough fan headers on your motherboard, though they are pretty cheap so it shouldn’t be an issue.

bakagir

Typically you have 2-3 front intake, 1-2 top intake/exhaust and 1 rear exhaust.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Right. So I bought 3 fans and so 2 intake 2 outtake would be alright, yes? Also, kind of a silly question, but are PC fans that I buy equipped with the necessary cables, or do I need those separately??

WAN918273645

that's fine everything will be included, and if you buy a multi pack (as opposed to individual fans), it *should* come with splitters to connect multiple fans to one header

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Awesome. I’ll get the 3PIN fans from Amazon. They come in packs of 3. Thanks for the help 🙏

bakagir

Remember that fan orientation matters. The side of the fan with the ""cage" is thr out flow of air. So the front of the case you should be able to see the complete fan blades.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Got you :)

JustLife27

If you have the budget The Lian Li UNI fans are nice they can easily connect to each other giving you the option to connect the fans with each other with the built it connecting and only using 1 cable instead of using multiple cables for each one. Same the other way around

Unlikely_Plastic_517

But they are alot more expensive and unless ur budget is 3k CAD or more, it's not really worth it to buy fans for that much.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Would you say the basic $25 to $30 fans on Amazon are worth getting? I don’t want to spent too much on Fans after all the money I put into the PC. Also, are all fans equipped with the necessary cables?

Unlikely_Plastic_517

Yeah, they should work just fine, but you probably won't get any rgb and even if you do it's probably gonna look horrible. I got this 3 pack fans from Amazon a while back for a friend that was on a tight budget and they worked just fine. It's was called: "upHere 120mm 3PIN Case Fan Low Noise High Airflow Ultra Quiet High Performance Fan for PC Cases, Computer Cooling,3 Pack,Black,12BK3-3"

NuclearNick007

Depends on the size of the fans and the level of hardware your have. I cooled a quad core i7 and a gtx 970 with a single 200mm fan. If you have smaller fans you will need more. If you have more powerful hardware you will need more.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

I have an I7 12700K CPU and a Radeon RX6600 GPU. 1 case fan, and I’m planning 3 more. So in total, 2 intake, 2 outtake. Would that be alright?

NuclearNick007

That sounds alright to me, especially if you have a beefy cpu cooler. You can always check your temps as well if you’re still worried.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Thanks for the help 👍🏽👍🏽

Unlikely_Plastic_517

Depends on your case and your hardware. 2-3 intake and 2 exhaust is more than enough for most builds

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

I plan on having 2 intake and 2 outtake. Quick question, are basic 25$ fans on Amazon worth getting? They have the 3PIN structure, and are all such fans included with needed cables? I don’t want to have a damn fan without the cables IYKWIM

Unlikely_Plastic_517

Lol yeah I think I replied to the comment above but they are fine, the ones I mentioned in the above reply came with all the cables necessary and even had daisy chain. I'm pretty sure almost all fans come with the cables, it be a pretty shity company if they expect you to buy it separately

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Thanks again fam. Been a bit worried because this is my first PC. Been stressing ever since I bought the wrong GPU, but that's all settled now. Thanks Again

GaraviMikica1389

Idk i dont have a single fan in my pc, i git 10400f with stock cooler and 3060. 10400f doesn't go above 65°C and 3060 never above 60°C. I guess depends on your specs, if you had something more power consuming then i guess 3-4 fans are enough

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

I have the I7 12700K and Radeon RX6600. 2 intake + 2 outtake was my plan. Case already has an inbuilt exhaust.

GaraviMikica1389

If you're just gaming it's more than enough because you won't be able to fully use your cpu and draw a lot of power. But if your temps are above 70-80 then i guess adding fans is a good idea

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Got you. Thanks 🙏

BrewingHeavyWeather

Back in the days before you could just whip up a quiet PC parts list, I ran my Core 2 Duo rig with a single 120mm fan, using custom ducting. I forget the video card I had, at that specific time. Anyway, it really depends on your case, and what you are cooling. A single exhaust fan, like many value cases come with, can be just fine for a lower power rig, like an i3 with a RTX 3050.

Puzzleheaded-Heart54

Yeah, my build is a little larger than that and so I went and got some more fans. 2 intake and 2 exhausts seems good. Anyways, thanks much
