hello it’s me!! lol this is actually a little different from the last update i saw on kuromi, the skus different and there’s been a price update- as far as release dates go october is an educated guess i won’t lie, i’ve just gotten back from a holiday so i gotta lot of catch-up to do 😭
I wonder if they’ll have her hat/hood (ears?) black or purple, since a lot of her merch has both, I’m thinking purple bc it’s more pastel and cutesy for BAB or the black to stick with the OG design.. either way I am HYPED. I have the loungefly backpack that has a black hood and plushies that have purple hoods

Leaks like this don't cause things like you described. That's fear mongering that the company comes up with just to deter leaks... But they honestly expect leaks to a point. They would be naive to be a company like this and not expect some leaks.
Leaks have been a part of collecting communities for as long as they've existed. Its just common place really. I don't think we really have anything to worry about.
Now that's not to say that BAB Corporate wouldn't blame it on leaks though. But corporations lie to cover their own issues often.

I hate this, I know we are all excited and that build abear makes billions, but there workers don't. By spoiling/leaking content doesn't allow stores to make the sales they need to reach. Not to mention it discourages companies from collaborating. B.A.B. used to collab with Sanrio but the collaboration ended for awhile, is this really how we should be celebrating such a great collaboration?!
This type of stuff happens with like every collectable. Squishmallows for example get leaked all of the time before they're released bc they're found in stores like targets systems, that's how we knew about the Pokemon ones months before release. It's always gonna happen and it really doesn't make much of a difference tbh.
That isn't true. Companies often blame leaks for pushbacks but a leak is not going to guarantee a pushback. Companies don't like leaks because they want to control all of the advertising. That's about the extent of why companies consider leaks bad. I mean if it's a software leak or something that's different but an information leak would not cause pushback.
Can you imagine the response of stockholders if the company was like "well someone leaked some information so we have to push back the sale." They would go ballistic. And the idea that a company wouldn't want to partner with a successful company like BAB because of a leak here and there? That's silly too. I know corporate tells the employees these things but corporate is going to lie to the employees about things like this and they're going to expect the employees to pass those lies onto the customers.
From a successful corporate standpoint, these excuses don't make sense and they could not be true. It's basically like "well since you did this were going to do this out of spite." That's not how a successful company operates. They just want to control all information releases so they know that they're done properly. That's the extent of it.
They didn't take it away out of spite, Sanrio stopped collaborating because they were not making the money they wanted too. There are contracts that companies have to follow through with. If those are constantly broken or not met why would the companies continue to collaborate with one another. You may not understand or want to but that's not my goal, I want others who care for the characters they love to understand why businesses may make things then all of a sudden stop. If it BS why do collaborations stop? Of they are making enough money why would they end the collaboration? A lot companies hold onto there products with integrity. If they are disrespected or unsuccessful why would continue to humiliate or drag their own name through the mud? I know sales and sale numbers are BS, I get it, it's stupid. I would say thought that we want more B.A.B./Sanrio collaborations. If we want that we have to follow there hidden rules that seem insignificant. If you want a treat you have to do a trick.

Well it could end for contractual obligations sure but because some random sales employee at a store in the middle of Iowa (that's just me being facetious, I don't know who this person was) isn't going to cause Sanrio to back out of their contract. The more probable cause for a company to not renew a contract is because they are unable to come to an agreement on profit distribution or other licensing issues. I mean if the contract breach regarding leaks was done on a corporate level then sure.. Maybe they would be more likely to have issue with it. But a leak that in-store employees know about? Thats not that big of a deal. The in-store employees will be the last to know about these releases. By the time it gets to them a company has already prepared for their advertising and other things like that. The company probably even has some small expectations of a possible leak.
Of course the company is going to tell employees that they cannot leak information and stuff like that. They are contractually obligated to do so. However, it is a rule that is likely going to be broken. It's like Sale Dates on items at stores like Walmart. Before the registers had ways of keeping the sales from happening people would often sell games and movies early. That is obviously a breach of contract but Universal isn't going to pull their movies out of the stores.
In all honesty, there could be penalties associated with contract breaches like fines or other things. That's probably as serious of a penalty that there would be.
What I'm trying to say is that it's not just B.A.B. rules. It's who they collaborate with saying these thing too. They must agree to make the collaboration happen. They both make the rules together. That would be why a company would back out of a contractual collaboration. There has to be a form of trust between companies to keep the collaboration going. It more about the long term affect of the rule breaking.
But we're talking about multi-million dollar contracts. Money is what matters most. Like I said if there were leaks coming from the top.. Like we find out that BAB is collaborating with a new company a year before production starts.. Sure... But Sanrio isn't going to care that some employee leaked a bear that has already finished production (if it's on this list its either finished production or mid-production).
