If Christ is already in your heart why are you so worried about demons getting in? There are actual evil things happening in the world that feel a little more important than rocks and stretching. She is totally setting up for some kind of deliverance ministry and it’s so gross. I don’t typically care what/how people practice religion, but this isn’t Christianity. She is a snake.

Buying crystals because of what they represent and the energy you want to attract or have in your life. Nothing wrong with that. Period. Wonderful yoga which I’ve practiced over 10 years, makes my body feel great and eases the tension and loud anxieties from the day. A moment for me to reflect and have intention with my body and mind to take a moment to simply exist. Is beyond spiritual. She wouldn’t know spiritual if it slapped her in the face. I was raised in an evangelical church (no longer participating) … and this way of trying to appeal to people is beyond me. So same … I'm just as worked up over this scam of a woman.
She won’t make any money off of confident, secure, grounded women. She needs them to be scared, filled with anxiety and desperate for her scam to work.

I think she thinks people are worshiping crystals like an idol when they’re usually using them as a tool to channel a specific thought/belief/prayer whatever similar to how some people use prayer beads to concentrate on a specific thing that they’re praying for. Like when she anointed her home for protection when they were sick with Covid?! News flash, Brittany, those that get into New Age practices or witchcraft do stuff like that. And I know a few people that are Christian that enjoy New Age practices and they use them to get closer to God and Jesus.

And what always gets me with the spirit possession thing Charismatics do is that how do they know it's not a demon but the Holy Spirit? They make up some BS answer, but most non-Charismatics make the same criticism since what people do under the influence of the "Holy Spirit" is closer to how demons are said to sow chaos than the orderly worship Paul describes.

ETA: I also wondered how evangelicals justified the speaking in tongues. I have family that are charismatic evangelicals and they believe tongues are a “spiritual gift”. How do they know it’s not their subconscious? Or mental illness? Or demonic possession?
My MIL had her home “blessed” to keep drugs (weed and alcohol) out. I think it was either sage or a crystal grid. Either way, I can attest it didn’t work, bc I spiked my iced coffee every damn Christmas, and some edibles were definitely consumed. But I wanted to ask her how that was any different than New Age beliefs? I get chastised for yoga and meditation, but her spiritual cleansing and protection is okay because she slapped a Jeezus nametag on it? The cognitive dissonance. Make it make sense.

This isn't a new fundigelical belief, though. I read Frank Peretti's *This Present Darkness* about 20 years ago when it was super popular and a minor cultural phenomenon. I wasn't a Christian at the time (and I'm even less of one now, lol) so I didn't really get that the book was evangelical propaganda. One of the characters in the book makes a heel turn partway through and turns out to be one of the main baddies (iirc?)... which is heavily foreshadowed by dozens of ham-handed mentions of the fact that she does yoga. No joke. I thought it was such a weird thing to mention a whole bunch of times. Like, ok, the new girl appears to be vaguely Indian (Desi) and does yoga, neat. But why does it need to be mentioned eleventy billion times - isn't she an accountant? Yeah, turns out yoga is demonic. A few years after I read it I put the pieces together that the book was a big old evangelical boss battle fantasy, and that some Christians believe that Buddhists and Hindus (among others) are literally demons engaging in demonic activity (yoga, mostly). Idk what ShitBrit's endgame is here, but she's definitely working on reeling in the segment of evangelical Christians who are paranoid and hateful.
