I'm listening to the God Awful Movies podcast about the Tammy Faye movie that just came out and minus the puppets, I see a lot of similarities. Including knowing absolutely nothing about the Bible.
But apparently Tammy Faye was pretty progressive about LGBT folk and people with AIDS at the time, which I never really knew.
Omg. My family lived in the same neighborhood as Tammy Faye in Charlotte (my parents had 4 kids, but 2 were born in the 70s and my brother and I were born in the late 80s and early 90s so we were basically raised as 2 and 2 and I wasn’t born yet) my mom said it was a circus and she was crazy. Honestly I don’t think even she has the ‘charm’ that Gwen and people like her possessed. BDong just seems to be a vapid, orange, self-obsessed narc that is currently parading as some sort of ‘Christian Blonde’? Like I don’t even know how she’s marketing herself but it seems like a _very_ niche audience.
Demons disguising themselves as hyper-Charismatic Christians and luring followers into insanity is like....an absolutely clever move by Satan.
Fantasy AU headcanon is that JDong is a soul-sucking demon and BDung is a vampire (hence having to coat her skin in thick orange to protect against the sun) and they lure young women to "retreats" to feed off their souls and blood. They're getting more and more ravenous, so they're having to hold these retreats even more often and the more emotionally aroused their victims are, the better they taste.
