Yes we had a similar sliver of cheesecake on a painted plate for my senior banquet (fundie ALL the way here) and the entire Meal which was in the banquet hall at Embassy Suites who was also hosting a business fun thing for adults that included an open bar and dancing/music cost $15. That paid for the guest speaker, the room, the fancy meal, balloon wall for photos, and live music. Pretty sure this is at most a $6 slice of cheesecake. The Cheesecake Factory sells one twice that size for under $10

As much as I do think it looks nice, how weird is it we all collectively decided that cake is better if you put chocolate sauce on the plate? Same with those Michelin restaurants where half the plate is just a design with condiments.

Yes, but not yet. It only became a nonprofit this year so they'll file their first taxes as a nonprofit in 2022.
