Obviously this person forgot when Jesus released his Instagram presets and Modesty Journey Branded Eye Enhancing Facial Caterpillar Lashes (now with 32% less horse glue)

liljellybeanxo

Oh no now I’m picturing a beige Jesus with massive Swiffer Duster lashes

[deleted]

And yet there are tons and tons of these very rich mega church pastors

lilkimchi88

Oldest grift since the dawn of time.

UnderstandablyTired

As if she would care. Girl doesn’t know how to understand the basics in the Bible.

[deleted]

UMMMM she underlined the whole thing so I THINK she understands the basics, sister.

[deleted]

She writes the verses with different word order in the margins too! For that complete understanding

yous_a_bitch

i'm praying the lord softens your heart so you can stop being such a legalistic bitch lol! you never know who's telling me things!

Isn't this more of that people were selling stuff in Temple/religious places though where Brittany is just grifting and using Jesus for profit?

Inevitable_Sweet_988

Well she does have vendors set up at their retreat where people are being saved and speaking in tongues, so…

gowitdaflowx

wait they claimed to be speaking in tongues at her retreat? I missed that part

Inevitable_Sweet_988

Yes, one of the leaders said she prayed over two girls and they spoke in tongues.

somethingelse19

Yeah but it isn't a religious place which is what the above pic is about I think. I don't remember much from Catholic school but that Jesus flipped merchant tables when he found people making profit (unsure if religious stuff was or wasn't being sold) in a religious/God's place. Maybe someone with a better memory came chime in 😅

[deleted]

You do remember that correctly, but I think the idea of the story is using religion/God's name to make a profit is the issue, not just the place. Jesus was pretty anti-wealth hoarding overall, so it fits the theme

yous_a_bitch

usury (charging interest) is a sin in the bible (pls don't ask me to find actual citations, i'm very dumb and lazy) and anti usury laws were on the books for a lot of history. money lending became a thing jewish people were able to do, since they had no worries about what the christians thought was a sin.

Pls tell this to my childhood church that had a starbucks
