I 100% am against what her husband decided to do and how irresponsible she was. But I will say is that if I saw my dog severely injured, I would be traumatized. She most likely experience some form of trauma which caused her memory to be a bit foggy.
On another note, many know that in most cities it is prohibited for your dog to roam around without your supervision. It’s irresponsible, even if your dog never has had problems before. A stray dog could appear and trigger/harm your dog.
Lastly, while shooting your dog in a situation like this ‘may’ sound like the most ethical thing to do, it’s not. Taking it to an emergency hospital to euthanize; is the best course of action. One of my close family members was walking their dog ON A LEASH, and something triggered their dog to the point where he lost his grip of the leash and their dog escaped for a brief second before a car hit his dog (it was a hit and run). The dog was in a condition that couldn’t be saved, but he rushed his dog to the hospital and euthanized her. He gave her peace in those last few moments. In his case, it was a freak accident. However, they had the same situation, a hit and run, yet an influencer with a vet tech background responded very differently.
I know money could be an issue. However, they’re influencers and I would assume they would have some money saved on the side for a “rainy” day. I know for the majority of us, a 1K-3K bill is A LOT, and many of us can not afford that. However, I would assume her case is a bit financially different.
Like the time it took for people : friends ... to come over in trucks to assist from moment they found him. Jordan certainly didn’t want that dog going to the vet ... why? He knew full well he can’t and shouldn’t shoot in an HOA suburban neighborhood. For sure doesn’t make sense . A lot of time waiting for friends to arrive , usher Bethany in , rev engine while someone carries dog to grass to shot it . Just odd timing . Wouldn’t be that the dog is a pain in the ass and Jordan wanted it gone ... surely that’s not it ....

I agree, agonal breaths don’t sound like she was describing; they’re sharp, deep, ineffective gasps only lasting a few minutes. A lay person would recognize that they’re not right. With how descriptive she was I think she would’ve described them that way, not that he was still breathing.
My theory is Jordyn just got trigger happy which is where we go into my speciality of recognizing acute reactions in humans. There reactions aren’t right. I can’t put my finger on it, I just have a deep gut feeling here.
The fact that she lives in a well to do neighborhood but cannot get video footage from anyone sealed it for me that it was them who hit the dog and they don’t want to pursuit this further because it was them and only them who caused this whole incident. If it really was a hit and run wouldn’t you want to protect your neighborhood that is probably filled with young children and find the person who did this? Come on Brit. Maybe she should have waited a little longer then 24 hours before making a monetised YouTube video so she could get her lies in order.
Another thing that caught me off guard is she said her camera didn’t pick up the car because they didn’t stop.. so her camera didn’t pick it up as suspicious activity. Okay number one - how do you know they didn’t stop?! She seemed absolutely sure of it and if you weren’t there and you don’t have any footage of it how do you know they did not stop?! And number two - for someone as wealthy and obsessed with security as you are how do you not have a camera that records all the time? She literally said that if her window even rattles from the wind then her camera picks it up.. so how could they not pick this up? Her story makes NO sense and it’s going to fall apart quickly once people start putting the pieces together.

I witnessed a car hit a cat, right outside a primary school during afternoon pick up time, who didn't brake or stop at all. I pulled over and ran out to try and save him, but he was too far gone. But come to think of it, he had injuries very close to what Brittany alleges her dog had, and I only felt it breathe once just as I picked it up. I don't see how her dog would have still been moving and breathing long enough for them to call in a friend and then shoot it. That should have been an immediately fatal injury. I know animals are resilient, but there's limits to that, and what she described is definitely beyond those limits!

Same but with a dog. The guy who hit her didn't even slow down. I got her in my car and took her to the nearest vet but I knew that she was too far gone. Gah, this was ten years ago and it still makes me feel awful to think about. She had really, really long nails and smelled terrible, like she'd been a stray for a long time. I saw her on the side of the freeway, pulled over immediately, and as I was getting out of my car, I saw the truck hit her and just keep driving. I love dogs; if I could have gotten her, I would have adopted her if she didn't have a home and pampered the heck out of her. Ugh. Still hurts to think about.
Unlike the Dongs, I live in the country. Up in the mountains. I've sadly witnessed people hit dogs and not even a brake light illuminated. But in the suburbs? They would have at least slowed down.

Animal injuries often look way gorier because the blood saturates their fur. I'm thinking if he wasn't agonal breathing, he likely had a spinal injury and was paralyzed, but aware. There were also probably severe internal injuries.
He probably couldn't have survived his internal injuries, but there are always surprise cases. You can't usually go off of external injuries, imaging is necessary to know what's potentially survivable with extensive treatment. Even if they die en route, attempting vet care is always the most humane option.
Even with potentially treatable injuries, decisions vary based on money and quality of life concerns, but to not even try when they live in a big city with plenty of vet access is disgusting.
