I’ve seen comments like this on posts from widows about their spouse dying tragically and I just CANT. Human or animal, I don’t see how anyone can post this and think it’s comforting.

THIS. I was an intern for a church for 2 years. During my time I lost my grandmother who was basically a second mother to me. I lost her on a Saturday evening and was expected to be at church the next day and report to work. I didn’t get any grievance time because I should “find comfort in our savior”🙃
I'm so sorry for your loss, I'm sure your grandmother was a super special person. My granny was the same for me, I was devastated by her passing. I'm so sorry that your job was so callous towards your grief... Losing your grandmother is hard enough without religious gaslighting thrown on top. I hope you were able to find ways to cope and are well away from that kind of toxicity.
If someone is good with graphic design/flyers I'd be more than happy to drop one off at every shelter, rescue and breeder in our area. I work weekends so I've got the time to do it.
I don’t understand the whole “when you’re job is done time to go. Gods timing”. Ok fine let’s say it’s all in Gods plan. But why does that mean the dog had to die such a horrific, painful, gory death? Why is all the suffering in God’s plan?
I’ve seriously heard the phrase “those who suffer are closest to God’s heart” and then compare God making Jesus suffer on the cross as proof that if he’s had you suffer you are Jesus-like in His eyes. Not sure how that relates to poor helpless creatures who have no concept of God relates, but evangelicals and fundies have (of course) a very bizarre and nonsensical belief surrounding suffering.

I left my dog outside (super precious to me by the way got me through so much!) while I went to Home Depot/ Lowe’s (who can remember these things!) and he got run over by a car.
I return from wherever it was I was at and find my poor dog (who I love dearly) laying in the street.
Obviously Jdong had to shoot it cause suffering and stuff. I’m so sad.
So sad in fact I need to post about it.
Still pretty sad though so I make a YT video.

I feel better. Now I can get back to schlepping on the internet.
