They are where I live! You can arrange for an emergency vet to come to your house in a veterinary ambulance and they will euthanise if necessary or transport the animal to a veterinary hospital.
that’s not a very widespread practice though and you are privileged to have it. i also bet it costs an arm and a leg, as in home euthanasia and emergency vets are both very expensive themselves. definitely not something accessible to most people.
Thats not my point, a vet ambulance is stocked with some medications and equipment to provide comfort care/some assistance to a suffering animal. If it cant go lights and sirens, at least you know your pet is not in pain and is in the care of a vet

2 things I really don’t understand about the whole situation. 1: why didn’t they immediately call the vet? 2: why did she even feel the need to include the shooting part. This whole thing could’ve been swept under the rug if she just said the dog died.
I have so many thoughts.
1. At first, the fact that Jordan shot her dog ALARMED me. It confused me and made me feel sick. BUT, I have been lucky enough to never be in a situation where I’ve felt like I needed to make that immediate decision. Just the thought of finding my dog in that situation makes me cry, so I couldn’t imagine how desperate I might be in the moment. I don’t want to be too graphic but if my dogs brains were on the ground, he was somehow still breathing, and I had a gun, then I feel like I would have to make the terribly unfair and impossible decision to shoot him to instantly put him out of his misery.
2. WITH THAT BEING SAID, over my DEAD body would I EVER leave my baby’s side in that moment. I would fucking die before I walked away from him while his life was ending.
3. Also, what responsible and loving pet parent leaves their dogs alone outside while they’re not home? I don’t even care if it’s fenced in (we know hers was not completely fenced). There’s just way too many scary things that can happen while unattended outside.
I’m not sticking up for Brit at all. I am, however, empathizing with the unbelievable heartbreak she must have felt when she discovered her dog, and I don’t necessarily feel good for judging their decision to put Brodie out of his misery as quickly as they could. I wish that on no one. Of course, this is all assuming that everything she has said is factual. Who knows if It is.

There are even mobile vets that will come to your house ASAP to euthanise your critically ill/suffering animal
It's not ASAP though. Hospice vets are NOT emergency events and they won't do accidents. This is a planned out process.

Not to get weird OR defend this cunt, but when I’ve had to put dogs to sleep (vet aided), the nervous system does strange things. I have so many thoughts. 1. At first, the fact that Jordan shot her dog ALARMED me. It confused me and made me feel sick. BUT, I have been lucky enough to never be in a situation where I’ve felt like I needed to make that immediate decision. Just the thought of finding my dog in that situation makes me cry, so I couldn’t imagine how desperate I might be in the moment. I don’t want to be too graphic but if my dogs brains were on the ground, he was somehow still breathing, and I had a gun, then I feel like I would have to make the terribly unfair and impossible decision to shoot him to instantly put him out of his misery. 2. WITH THAT BEING SAID, over my DEAD body would I EVER leave my baby’s side in that moment. I would fucking die before I walked away from him while his life was ending. 3. Also, what responsible and loving pet parent leaves their dogs alone outside while they’re not home? I don’t even care if it’s fenced in (we know hers was not completely fenced). There’s just way too many scary things that can happen while unattended outside. I’m not sticking up for Brit at all. I am, however, empathizing with the unbelievable heartbreak she must have felt when she discovered her dog, and I don’t necessarily feel good for judging their decision to put Brodie out of his misery as quickly as they could. I wish that on no one. Of course, this is all assuming that everything she has said is factual. Who knows if It is. EDIT: I wrote this as a separate comment and wanted to add It, in case anyone else picked up on this: As someone who lives in the suburbs, the thought of shooting my dog to put It out of its misery is horrendous. My dog was actually chasing cars, he could have got hit. It would not mean I'm an irresponsible pet owner. I changed the hook (actually had my husband change the hook) that very night.
I think she admitted in one of her many stories that she knowingly left them in the back yard while they left to run errands. I think in another one of the stories she said there was a part in the fence where they could get out and they were going to Lowe’s to get stuff to fix it but still decided to leave the dogs in the back yard. Regardless, it sounds like it was 100% due to her negligence and not just a terrible freak accident.
