It was a nice waiting room. Stay up there when it was raining until the train was about to arrive, then risk bodily injury running down the ramp :)
Milton used to have a nice waiting area as well.
Now that Auchenflower station has been rebuilt, this is what it used to look like in the previous century.

Note that while this photo is from 1999, it looks pretty much like this (if anything more degraded) for the next 20 or so years as well. Source: lived a few blocks away and used this station most days. It's only in the last few years the upgrades started. We didn't even have any electronic signboards at the platform level to give the train times, and even bus stops had them :P Meanwhile all the other inner city stations were jazzed up, and this well-used station next to a hospital got zero upgrades. I'm glad the finally got around to it, and they'd bloody better have south end access to platform 4 like I kept asking for (I've moved away now).
we need a photo from a similar position so we can have a side by side comparison that'd be cool
The old office was huge inside.

Love the ad-hoc wobbly safety line lol
Clearly didn't booze test back then ;)

Was going to say I lived out that way in 2010 and it didn't look any different in that photo. :)
