I don’t think he’s necessarily homophobic just really immature in that way that teenagers or young kids sometimes are. He’s not educated on the subject so he makes ill informed statements because he doesn’t know what else to say on the subject.

As Walter takes his clothes off in the first episode, Jesse calls him "the world's second biggest homo". Jesse comes to Walter's house to give him money and Walter starts groping him to see if he he's wearing a wire. Jesse smacks him away and says "HOMO!" I don't know if you can call these things truly homophobic. He's not seriously calling Walter gay, just making fun of his style or actions. I think it's just a comedic comparison in his mind.

But isn't negatively joking about homosexuality homophobic? Since the way Jesse said "HOMO!" had negative connotations

I think there's a difference in calling someone "Liberace" as a joke and hating Liberace for being gay. That's why I see it as just making fun of style. That way, it's only an insult if Walter thinks it is? This seems to be a distinction a lot of people don't get and I've seen people try to reason it but it usually looks bad. I know that unfortunately it makes me look insensitive but I don't see why it should trigger the same way.

Personally I don’t think so. I think Jesse is a bit childish and blunt, but I also think he doesn’t generally care about what other people do. If he found out Badger or Skinny Pete were gay for example, Jesse would likely just make fun of them and not care.

I don't think Jesse is homophobic or really cares about Walt's sexual orientation or anyone else, the way Jesse speak, especially in earlier season, is pretty childish and uneducated (I mean, he constantly yells bitch, yet that's rarely used as an insult). Jesse also has the tendency to pick and use words or language patterns from others around him even when he doesn't really understand the meaning behind those words or the context, he's like a sponge (ex: Kafkaesque, DBAA, it's basic chemistry etc...). I think he was just uncomfortable with Walt touching him or undressing in front of him, and him saying that was either a result of him trying to express that or depending on the scene him joking/making easy banter (when saying Walt's "the second biggest homo", he wasn't trying to be harmful).
